Secret Wars Spider-Man part 2

It had been days since Jason's mission with Ms. Marvel and Wolverine. The heroes had been busy, disrupting convoys that helped supply the Equalists, sabotaging bases to keep their troops constantly moving from base to base, spreading Amon's forces across the city.

The strategy was fairly simple, stretch the enemy forces so thin so that they couldn't properly react to any heroes activity. What's better is that the heroes finally established contact with S.H.I.E.L.D, the organization was retaking Equalist controlled cities all across the globe, and should be at Republic City in about a week.

Everyone was more than happy to have this all over and done with, but there was still the matter of keeping the Equalists in disarray.

Jason was currently inside his tent looking over his damaged suit. Since he couldn't have Korra and her friends, or any of the heroes for that matter, see a unmasked young adult walk around. And he was especially ticked him off that he couldn't repair it, the wounds from his fight with Dr. Doom had healed, but his costume? Not so much.

Shrugging it off, he slipped into his costume and exited his tent and walked over to the table. Iron Man was looking down at the map with his helmet on the table and Asami leaning against the surface beside him. "What about the skylight? Drop in from above?" he suggested.

The heiress shrugged, "Maybe, but not everyone can survive a drop that long." she pointed out, looking at the circled building on the map. Along with a few stains, the map was littered with points of interest that they had attacked.

The newest one was Future Industries.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Spider-Man asked as he looked onto the map. Ever since his talk with the Captain, he had made an effort to become more involved with the heroes, he now knew a few of the X-men a little better, save for Wolverine, and had gotten to know the Avengers as well.

"We're trying to find the best way to get in Future Industries. I'm hoping to do it with a small enough team so the entire Equalist body doesn't come running at the first sound of trouble." he explained, making Spider-Man lean his hands down on the table and look down at the outline of the building.

"Why? I mean no offense Ms. Sato, but shouldn't we just blow our way in and take it by force?" he asked. None of the missions he had partaken in had him doing anything but hitting things or throwing them. He may be smart, but he'd be lying if he said that he'd rather talk the Green Goblin down rather than deck him.

Iron Man looked over to the young adult with a slight smirk, "As much as I'm sure the big guy would like that. We have something that we need to capture, Phoenix pulled out a memory before Chapal became all Lizard. The Equalists found this...collection I guess, it had the original Lizard notes as well as something from two other scientists." he explained.

Jason's eyes widened under his mask, Chapal told him that he, Mao Morbius, and his father Torma all worked together. Ok I think one pseudo vampire and a mini dragon is just enough for this city. Plus God knows what Torma made. he thought to himself.

"I can do it. I've snuck in there like have a dozen times, I could get that stuff and steal it from them." he offered to the Avenger.

Asami gave him a questionable look, "What? How many times has this happened?" she asked, her voice on the borderline of threatening and curiosity.

"Doc Ock, Lizard, Spider Slayer, Beetle, any of these ringing a bell? Face it, shit goes down at your work." he stated, counting off each time with one of his fingers.

Iron Man thought it over, originally he wanted to send Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic, but he could tell that Spider-Man wanted to do this. "Asami could you give us a moment? I wanna ask him a few questions." he explained to the heiress. She gave him a nod before going to get something to eat. Tobi looked at the young hero, "Ok, so why do you want to do this?"

Spider-Man took a breath before answering, "Look...my father worked with Chapal at one point, he and Mao Morbius. So I'm guessing that whatever he worked on is with Chapal's work. This is my responsibility, I need to do this Iron Man." he explained.

The genius gave him a look of sympathy, he using father instead of dad is what he did when he referred to his dad. So he could understand why he wanted to do this, "Look kid, I know that this is important to you, but you know that you can't mess this up. We don't know how long they'll keep this stuff at Future Industries, you sure you can do this?" he asked.

The young adult gave him a nod, "Alight then. Take the western tunnels, and bring whatever you can back here. Can't complete the work of they don't have all the notes." he explained, making Jason smile under his mask.

Walking over to the western tunnel, he opened the pipe head and entered the underground tunnels.

One of the things that Jason hated about having to go into hiding was the fact he couldn't go out and web swing anymore. If he could, it would take him all of fifteen minutes to swing to Future Industries at the edge of the city.

And that was if he had any web fluid left after he sprayed what he had left at one of the missions two days ago. So that left Jason with cracking his way there over the ceiling of tunnels, sewers, drainage tunnels, and other such ways of traveling underground.

"I swear with this is over and done, I will shower for a week straight." Jason muttered as he crawled across the ceiling towards Future Industries. Crawling over a arch, he looked ahead to see a ladder heading up to the surface.

Scaling up the tunnel, he pushed open the manhole cover and looked around. "I bet the Ninja Turtles must smell like a million times worse." he muttered as he climbed out from the sewer and closing the lid behind him.

The street was thankfully devoid of all activity, disputed the large nonbender presence in the city, the city was more empty than it had been before the Equalists attacked. Most of the streets were barren. From a distance the only real sign of actual life was the airships patrolling the skies with searchlights.

Future Industries hadn't gone under any real significant changes under the new regime. The only noticeable differences were the banners with the Equalist insignia on the four towers in each corner of the rooftop.

Sprinting across the street, Spider-Man leapt to the front of the building and scampered around the side. "Ok, the place they would most likely store Chapal's research is probably his old lab." he said aloud.

He continued to crawl across the brick, going around the side of one of the towers until he reached the small window of Chapal's old personal office. The window easily slid open, allowing Jason to enter the room and travel across the ceiling.

The door to the room suddenly opened, two Chi Blockers entered and scanned the room for anything out of the ordinary. "Told you, just hearing things." one of them said, looking at the other.

"Alright, fine you were right. Happy?" the other follower asked. Suddenly the Equalist sniffed the air when they smelled something, "Ugh, what stinks like a sewer?"

"Oh come on!" the two's eyes shot up as a hand grabbed both of them by the back of their heads and smashed them together, the two fell to the floor with slight groans. Spider-Man dropped down in front of them, "I smell that bad? Keep it to yourself next time." he said as he exited the room and closed the door behind him.

The lab hadn't changed much since his last time here during the fight between Vermin and Chapal. Jason couldn't help but think back to when he first came to work here, it was a dream come true for him, but looking at how things turned out, he was somewhat glad he left.

He shook those thoughts aside as he pushed forward, the lab was mostly abandoned, except for one of the lab tables that had a small desk lamp on. Walking over to the desk, he saw a medium sized safe opened with two metal lockboxes inside. One of them was out and opened, notes and diagrams scattered across the table with various formulas.

The box on the desk had a label on the front with the name Chapal, the other two did as well only with Morbious and Sugu. Looking over the documents on the table, he recognized the formulaic symbols that was the test for the orginal Lizard Formula.

"So basically, Chapal's got a case of the Hulk. If he gets too stressed or mad, I need to deal with the giant reptile. Perfect." he said to himself as he gathered up the notes and put them back into the box before closing the lid with a 'click'.

The young adult looked at the box labeled with his father's name. He didn't know a thing about what his dad had worked on, on neither did anyone else. And as much as he disliked the man, with how the other two experiments by his colleagues turned out his curiosity was over the moon by now!

He grabbed the box and opened it. Inside, there was two things. The first was a leather notebook with the initials T.S. on the cover of it, looking out the small book he flipped open to the first page and began to read.

(Torma's Journal)

It's been two weeks since the expedition began. Chief Unalauq has been a little wary of our search this far north of the Northern Watertribe, but he agreed to our request nonetheless.

Mao has been excited about our trip for months now, unfortunately he didn't have a clue just how cold it could get this far up here. Thankfully the local scientist, Doctor Schueller was more than happy enough to provide us with what was needed for comfort.

Me along with Mao and Chapal where asked to come to the Northern Watertribe and investigate the old ruins of the Spirit Wilds. Dr. Schueller has told us of stage glowing lights coming from the villages around the area. We've all been waiting months to come see it, and tomorrow we're heading out.

The most amazing thing happened last night. When we reached the site, the remains of the forest was undisturbed, not a single print in the snow other than ours. But if was the fact that there was no signs of life is what made us curious, the locals told us that there hasn't been a snowfall in weeks, but why would animals stay away?

We decided to camp the night to be sure, with each of us rotating shifts.

While I was on my shift, and also trying not to fall asleep, I saw something in the darkness. Taking out a flashlight, I fallowed what appeared to be a shadow through the darkness until I lost track of it. As I began my way back, I found something on the side of one of the trees that could only be described as dark slime.

Taking a sample of the material, I hid it from the others in case it was absolutely nothing.

(Next Entry)

I couldn't have been more wrong! The sample I secured last week was something I've never seen before. I managed to get it under a microscope and take a better look at it.

The substance is a living organism!

Not only that, but it seems to bond with whatever organism it can find. For example, I took a sample of the substance and used one of Chapal's chameleon's for a test subject. The substance completely covered the reptile and bonded with it, not only that but when I managed to separate the two, I found that the substance had small states of the reptile's DNA with it's own!

That gave me a idea, what if someone was dying of a sickness? I could attach this substance to a normal, healthy person who doesn't have the disease, and then attach the substance to the sick person?

I tried this experiment with lab rats and it was successful!

The substance seems to copy traits that it finds useful to survive in it's environment. For example it must have bonded to one of the animals in the North in order to survive!

This thing can possibly cure any disease, even something as serious as-

(End journal)

"-cancer...oh my god..." Jason said in absolute amazement of what his father had discovered.

Which led to the second object in the box. Separated from the notes was a clear canister with a airtight lock on the lid. Inside was a pure black substance.

Putting the journal back in it's place, he put the boxes in the safe and closed it before picking it up with his adhesive fingers and carried it towards the way he came.

(000)

After getting the supplies back to base, Jason turned the safe over to Iron Man...who promptly tore open the safe door. "You know I bet your suit could have helped you find the combination." he stated plainly as Tobi took one of the boxes and opened it.

"Yeah...but that was more fun." he said with a smile as he read over Mao Morbious' notes. "So...you find what you where looking for?" he asked, glaring over at the hero.

Jason nodded as he pulled out his father's box. "Yeah...look, Iron Man, thank you. I mean...I know that Invisible Woman would have been better but-" he started.

Tobi gave him a smile, "Look kid, I get it. I had dad issues myself...you need some time with your's stuff?" he guessed. Jason nodded, "Go nuts kid...wait did Mao actually make this work?" he asked when he read over the possible applications for Mao's idea.

Jason hasn't known Tobi long, but he knew enough that when he's interested in something like this, then it takes a emergency to take him away from it.

Jason rolled his eyes as he made his way back to his tent, deciding to read more of his father's notes.

(000)

"You where a fricking genius." Jason muttered as he read over his father's calculations in his journal. He hadn't left his tent since he came in that afternoon, he simply sat down and read over Torma's notes.

He looked down at the capsule in the box, he reached down and pulled it out if the box. Holding it up to the lantern in the pitch of the tent, he didn't see anything but the black substance. "Where did you come from?" he asked before setting it down beside his sleeping bag.

Laying his head down on his pillow, he let out a sigh. After reading his father's notes, part of him actually wanted to meet him for the first time. And another part of him was asking why didn't he ever ask Ava about his father? Did he do something bad to her?

He shook those thoughts away, it was no use asking those questions now. Even if his father was alive he had no idea where in the world he would be.

As the young adult laid down, he felt his eyes begin to grow heavy. Quickly reaching up to the lamp, he shut off the light before laying down and deciding to get some sleep.

As the hero fell into his slumber, the container of the black substance shook slightly. The cap of it's capsule started to slowly, yet surely, turn left and start to loosen the cap. After repeatedly turning the cap, the lid fell to the ground.

The black oozed out from it's former prison, the substance began to rise upwards, a orb acting like a head as white pseudo eyes grew from the darkness, looking at the sleeping hero as he turned into his side.

The substance descended back to the ground and slid towards the unsuspecting young man. The slime like substance slid over his costume, covering the red boots with pitch black before sliding up his body.

(000)

"W...wh...what?" Jason asked himself groggily as he blinked himself awake from his slumber. He felt like he was in a hammock, swaying side to side relaxingly as he slept, in all honesty it made him want to fall back asleep. But the strange displacement of gravity was giving him a sense of dread.

When his eyes finally adjusted, his eyes widened to the side of dinner plates. He was hanging on the side of a building upside down on a webline!

But looking at him in the glass window in front of him, was himself with a different look.

Instead of his usual red and black colored suit was instead almost complete black suit. On his chest was a large spider that almost resembled a tarantula, the fangs and spinnerets pointing out each end of the head and bottom. The legs of the spider were close together, all of them pointing upwards from the sides of the spider before abruptly dropping down under his arms.

His mask was also complete black save for his white eyes, and he could see white squares on the topside of his hands where the black webbing was being held between.

"Ok, don't freak out! Your just dreaming. You have to be dreaming. And I'm going to wake up..." he shut his eyes tight before opening them. "Now...oh shit I'm not dreaming...ok don't freak out." he said to himself, his voice starting to grow higher in pitch.

"Your just outside...upside down...on the side of a building...in a suit that you have never seen before in your life." he said to himself, tilting his head to the side as he looked back at himself in the makeshift mirror. "Ok. Things could be worse." he said.

"FREEZE SPIDER-MAN!" a loudspeaker shouted as a bright spotlight shined on his back. Tiring his head around, he saw one of the Equalist airships training a spotlight on him.

"I need to learn to keep it to myself." he muttered as the ship fired cables with hooks on the ends towards him. "Aw fudge!" he shouted as he dropped from his webline. Cables broke through the glass above him as he fell, instincts kicked in and he pressed his two fingers down in his palm, a black webline shot out from his wrist to the side of the building.

The web carried him out of the way of the glass and out to the air, "Ok think later, run like hell now!" he shouted as he swung his feet out in front of him before firing another thread with his other hand and releasing the other.

The small airship gave chase right away, retracting it's weapons and readying them to fire again. The ship turned in the direction that the young hero went and pushed forward through the air after him.

Spider-Man fired another web to his right, using his momentum to swing upwards high into the air before jumping off his line. He fell down towards the roof of the building, rolling on contact he broke into a sprint across the rooftop. The sight of a skyscraper under construction off to his right.

When he reached the ledge, e dived off the side, falling a few stories he attached a web to his right onto the building he jumped from, swinging him out into the air to the construction sight. Letting go of the line, he reached his hands forward to one of the red support beams.

Crawling up the side, he rose up the corner of the site a few floors before jumping inside as the searchlight shined on him once again. "Ok, now that I got a moment, this thing makes its own webs!?" he asked himself as he ran through the site.

He began to slow to a stop, he needed a minute to think this whole situation through. First off where did I get this new costume? How did I get out of the base? How...wait...oh crap your the thing in the jar! he thought in realization.

He raised one of his arms and pulled at the substance with one hand, stretching out the substance, "Ugh, face it Spidy. Foreign life has bonded to your suit. Dry cleaning ain't gonna cut it." he muttered to himself.

The sound of metal tearing metal made his head snap up. "Great, company." he said before crouching down and jumping to the ceiling. A few moments later, six Chi-Blockers passed under him, Spider-Man dropped from his spot into one of them as the others backed away.

"That's not Spider-Man! Costume's all wrong!" one of them Cale's out as two of the others charged the hero. One of them threw a jab towards his chest, Jason easily parried the blow upwards with one hand and threw a jab at the Equslist's midsection with his other, making him fall to the ground clutching his abdomen as Spider-Man swung his leg upwards and landed a blow on the side of the other's head.

"Hey that's semi-racist! Well come to think of it, you guys are locking people up based on their gifts so I'm sure your used to that." he stated as he two web balls at two of the other men, the impact from the projectors, knocking them out.

The last man standing was about to run before he felt his legs pulled out from under him. Before he could get up he was suck to the ground with webbing, " Well that was a good workout." Spider-Man said as he cracked one of his knuckles.

Leaving the defeated chi blockers, Jason leapt out the side of the building and shot a webline above the unfinished window he jumped from, pulling downwards to shoot him up to the rooftop. "Ok so where am I exactly?" he asked himself as he landed on the edge and turned out to the city.

Republic City was a divided into three parts in Jason's mind. The city was built by a bay so it was crescent shaped out to the west with a long slab of the city providing from the middle. These three parts where connected by two bridges, the Silk Road and Kiyoshi.

From as far as he could see, Jason pieced together that he was in the upper part of the city, and downtown was across one of the bridges. "Man how did I get this far away!? Ok, calm down. I'll get there in no time with web swinging." he said to himself before leaping off the side and a firing a thread to one of the buildings below him.

As he swung through the city, Jason's mind was still on the suit. From what he could feel, the webbing the suit was producing was strong as the ones that his webshooters made, if not a little stronger. But how could it produce the webbing?

Flying overtop one of the rooftops, Jason landed on the side of a radio antenna to gather his thoughts. "Ok think. This thing can copy the aspects of life forms, so maybe it copied my Webshooters?" he asked himself as he dropped down to the roof.

"No, couldn't be...you know what, I'm not gonna look the ostrich horse in the mouth here. This thing, whatever it is, hasn't exactly hurt me, I guess it won't hurt to keep it for now." he said to himself as he walked to the ledge. His eyes widened slightly at the end of the bridge, it was heavily fortified with cannons pointing every way upwards along with three airships!

"Damnit! There's no way I could sneak past that." he swore as he dropped to w croc has one of the searchlights at the bast of the bridge shined in his general direction. At the entrance to the bridge seemed to be something resembling a checkpoint,"Man if only I had my normal clothes with me, I could-"

As soon as he uttered the words, the black suit began to retreat, uncovering his fave and hands and taking the shape of a pair of brown pants and a black coat, "What the-! I how did you even...oh I get it, the chameleon you bonded with, you must have learned how to camouflage yourself in a sense." he said as he stood up and stretched out.

Running a hand over his face, he felt the sprouting hair on his face and upper lip, he hadn't gotten a real chance to shave since this little Secret War began. He wouldn't be surprised if the airbending kids didn't recognize him. He shook those thoughts aside for now and slid down the side of the building.

Stepping out onto the sidewalk, he stuffed his hands nonchalantly into his pockets and proceeded to walk towards the bridge. Suddenly a thought tab thorough his head, what if they asked for his ID card?

ID cards where partially driver license, they also acted as a way for law officials to see where your from, what education you have, age, or if your a bender or not. And his was back in his wallet...in his old suit.

Suddenly, he felt as though someone slipped something into his hand. Pulling his left hand out of his pocket, he found his ID card in his hand. "How the-"

"ID please." Jason head snapped up at the guard who stood in front of the gate to the bridge. Handing him his ID, he looked it over then at him before handing it back. "Your good to go, hurry up though kid it's almost morning." he said, stepping aside and letting Jason pass.

The young man nodded at him before going on his way, putting his card back in the pocket he miraculously pulled it out of. He could feel it fade away between his fingers, Ok how does that work exactly? I don't feel it anywhere else, so unless this thing can...wait that's it! It must be able to compress whatever matter it has, that's why it could fit inside the container and be big enough to cover me head to toe. he reasoned.

"This is incredible! But where could it learn how to do that?" he questioned himself as he began his walk across the bridge. "And how did it know that I wanted my ID? Could it have read my thoughts? I suppose it's possible, that would explain how it knew what my web formula is." he stated in realization.

Whatever this substance was, it was nothing like anything that Jason has ever heard of. After he had gotten far enough away from the checkpoint, he thought of the word 'Spider-Man' which caused the suit to shift back to the black suit.

"I think I may just keep you." he said with a smile before shooting a web to one of the tethers and pulling down, the line pulled him into the air before swinging down under the bridge.

Firing another webline to the underside of the bridge, swinging down under the arch supporting the bridge. A series of small buildings where in a cluster under the bridge, Jason swung down to the rooftop of one of the small structures and dropped down into one of the alleys in front of a sewer entrance .

Picking up the lid, he tossed it into the air and dove down into the hole, the cover slamming down shut on the entrance.

(000)

After finding his way back to the heroes base, he explained to Iron Man, Captain, and Ren what happened. "-but the weirdest part was when it gave me my ID. It was out of thin air. he explained to the four.

The group had moved this conversation into the hall so that they could talk in private as well as have Ren and Tobi inspect the suit. "Incredible, and you said it's a living organism?" Ren asked as he looked at part of the suit as Spider-Man pulled some of it.

"Yea according to his notes, but he didn't have any idea what it was. And what can shape itself into what I think?" he asked the four. He wanted to know more about this thing but so far, he has squat for answers and it was starting to get to him a little.

"Look Spider-Man, from what you've told us this thing doesn't seem to want to harm you. In fact it's helped you, so I don't think it's a threat to you." the Captain stated observantly. From what he had gathered this substance hadn't shown any hostility towards the young man, and that was something to consider.

Just before the young adult could respond, the door to the base opened. Daredevil stepped out in a hurry, "We have a problem." he stated, making the group look at one another before fallowing him inside the base. "I heard this small ticking sound all night, I've spent the past hour trying to find it." he said, leading them to the table in the center of the room.

The vault sat on the table in the center, the blind hero reached in to the back of the top shelf and pulled something off the wall. Handing it to Iron Man, he looked over the piece of equipment, "Son of a bitch its a tracer!" he exclaimed as he crushed it.

Jason wanted to kick himself for not even thinking of the possibly of a tracer on the safe or even the boxes. "They must have our location by now." Captain stated. "Alright everyone! Listen up! We've been compromised, so we need to do like we practiced and-"

Jason's spider sense started to crawl up and down his spine with how hard it was ringing. And it was pointing up.

The street above them began to give way in a series of explosions that held the ceiling above them in place. The street gave way and fell ontop of the Heroes's camp.

On the streets above the wrecked camp where completely destroyed. Amon stood alongside the Lieutenant, both of them looking at the wreckage a safe distance away, "Do you think that killed them all?" his right hand man asked.

Amon shook his head. "With being's such as the Hulk I doubt it, but if anything, this brought their operations to a complete halt for the time being. More than enough time for us to prepare for their next move, but until then, we need to gather our forces. Tell the men we're moving out." he said, turning around and walking towards the waiting satomobile.

(000)

"Are we dead? If so why does heaven smell like a wet dog?" Spider-Man questioned aloud, he could see nothing in the slightest, whether or not it was from some rubble on top of him or just lack of light he couldn't tell.

A animalistic growl made him realize what was on top of him, "I'm sorry, you wanna repeat that bub?" Wolverine asked.

"Nothing. Nothing at all...can you get off me?" he asked, the feral mutant rising off him and offering him a hand. Jason took it and was pulled onto his feet, "Guess Amon's lackeys don't know how to blow up shit." he growled out as the young adult starred over his shoulder. "By the way what's up with that getup?"

"Wolverine...turn around." the young adult advised.

The mutant turned around, "Oh...holy shit." he muttered at what he saw. Holding up what must be at least a hundred thousand tons of concrete was the Hulk.

And he was anything but happy.

"That's putting it lightly." Jason muttered as he saw the lights to Iron Man's armor flicker on along with Mako, Korra, and Jon-Li making fires in their hands to illuminate the darkness.

"Is everyone alright?" Iron Man asked as his mechanical voice kicked in. Looking around, Jason couldn't help but wince at how destroyed the base was from the attack. Everything was destroyed, the tents, radio, everything, but thankfully it seemed that Hulk had served everyone from being crushed.

As the behemoth held the weight of the street on his shoulders, Korra and Bolin has begun rising builders from the ground. When there was over a dozen of them, Korra walked over the Hulk, "Ok big guy, I think we got it." she said kindly to the hero.

The Goliath let the Colin's carry the weight on his stead making the gentle giant give that avatar a smile, "Korra help Hulk. Hulk thank Korra." he said, making the young woman smile. By now everyone saw Hulk as more of a misunderstood giant instead of a raging monster like he was made out to be.

"Humph. Big guy's gotten soft." Wolverine stated.

"You'd rather him be pissed at us?" Jason asked.

"...okay fair point." the mutant relented.

"Alright people, as I was saying, we need to get out of here. Korra I want you and Bolin to get a escape tunnel out of here. These supports won't hold forever so the sooner we all get out of here, the better." the Captain said, getting nods of approval from the Earthbender and Avatar.

The two easily bent a escape tunnel out through the rubble and into one of the underground tunnels. After entering the tunnel, the heroes started to travel down to find a new place to call home.

Jason trailed behind everyone else, his head hanging low, "Spider-Man, how doth thou fair?" the hero looked to to see Thor walking beside him. He honestly hadn't interacted with Thor all that much but Jason could sympathize with how hard it was for him to try and fit in.

"I'm fine Thor. How is everyone? Anyone hurt?" he asked. He honestly thought it was a partial miracle that no one had died from the attack, he was also impressed with how Hulk was able to CATCH a street.

He swears the Avengers earned the title Earth Mightiest Heroes.

"Our comrades in arms show no injury. Thank Odin that the Hulk had the strength to hold his ground." he stated, causing the young hero let out a sigh of relief. "Spider-Man, forgive me but I couldn't help but notice thy's demeanor. What troubles you?" he asked.

Jason sighed, e wasn't exactly itching to lie to one of the most powerful being's in existence. "Thor it's my fault they found the base. If I hadn't have brought that safe back, then we wouldn't have almost been flattened." he said depressingly.

Thor gave the young adult a sympathetic look, "Does doth turkey believe that? For I assure you that your claim of responsibility of this has no merit." he stated. "Your quest was to retrieve the container of secrets Spider-Man and you completed it honorably. What came after, thou has no claim to it." he said.

Jason wasn't completely sure of Thor's words but he did have a point. He couldn't have known they would be willing to give those documents up, "Thanks Thor...that's a load off my conscious." he said gratefully.

Thor patted him on the shoulder, nearly knocking him off balance, "Think nothing of it Spider-Man. Now come, let us search for a new home to call ours." he said with confidence.

The hero gave him a nod before jumping up to the ceiling and crawling to the front of the group. The heroes traveled through a series of tunnels, taking many turns and traveling about the equivalent of a mile before taking time to rest.

Spider-Man spun a web hammock with his black webbing and laid down in it as the group rested. Despite what I may think of the suit, it does give me apparently unlimited webbing. Man I'm gonna save a fortune in web fluid. he thought to himself.

After a few minutes of resting, Team Avatar returned from their scouting trip further up the tunnel. "Hey guys! We got good news!" Korra called out as she ran towards the front with the other members of her team plus a unfamiliar face.

He had spiked up grey hair with a goatee, his cloths where completely ragged and looked like they where years old. Holes and snares littered his clothing and was missing the front of one of his shoes. "Why hello there, I heated that there was hero underground, but I didn't think it was real literal." he stated, looking around at the heroes.

"He offered to let all of us stay with him and his friends as long as we want." Korra explained, gesturing to the older hobo

Spider-Man descended by a webline beside Captain and Iron Man, the three all have each other looks before looking at the hobo. "Uhhh...well we appreciate the offer sir but we doubt that your place is-"

(000)

"-holy crap this place is huge!" Spider-Man said aloud when he saw the size of the living area. It was the size of a entire city block and had small shacks made of ha and me down materials.

"I must admit...this is a new one." the Captain said in agreement.

The generous hobo offered to take some of the heroes to come see what he had in mind. They expected a rundown hole in the ground but not this! "We can definitely stay here until the UF come here next week." Korra observed.

Iron Man nodded in agreement, "Spider-Man can you go tell the others? We're going to stay here and try to organize as best we can. Avatar Korra can you go with him?" he asked.

The two nodded and began the trip back down the tunnel. When the two heroes where out c sight, Korra looked at the webhead, "I've been meaning to say, nice suit. Where'd you get it?" she asked.

Spider-Man couldn't help but chuckle lightly, "Long story. I'll tell you guys later."

AN: Ok so a little facts for you guys before I go any further.

The original black suit from the comics never made Peter act more aggressive or give him a power boost. That idea came from the 1994 animated series, and was a trend from there. I've for the most part kept close to the comics, and if you're asking yourselves 'Then how is Venom stronger than Spider-Man?' I'll explain that in the story later.

Now the Secret Wars are drawing to a close next chapter, and after that...well you'll all see.

Now as for my whole description of Republic City, I've gone off of many resources (mainly from the show) and maps that some fans have stated to be official.

Now location may not come up much (mainly since the show doesn't give any definitive locations on a city map unlike New York) but I felt this should have been something that should have been established.

Here's my early birthday present to you all, I hope you enjoy it like I've been enjoying Daredevil on Netflix:)

NEXT TIME: THE EPIC FINALLY TO THE SECRET WARS! STAY TUNED TRUE BELIEVERS!
