Unicorns and Tuna

The next week, seemed to have passed by a lot quicker than the twins would have liked it have, but they couldn't complain.

Simply because their women wouldn't let them complain.

"But Haru, I don't wanna, go. You need me."

"Whether you don't want to or not, you still have to."

If was almost as though the females wanted them to leave.

"But Suzu, we'll be lonely!"

"Suck it up buttercup."

Whatever it was, both boys were sure their girls didn't care what they thought, and just didn't want to be around them anymore.

Though it wasn't that Haruhi and Suzuki wanted them to leave. Haruhi loved her idiot, and Suzuki loved her fiancée. But they did want a little space away from their clingy men, who insisted on practically sitting on top of them whenever around them.

Both men had been under a to of stress lately, and had been through just as much as the girls had, so they were all for sending them away for a little while. Hoping that would relieve some of their tension.

Hikaru and Kaoru didn't think they had any "stress" but they were in no position to argue with them.

Which brings us to the last day Hikaru and Kaoru would be home. The day after they'd leave, and they weren't happy about it. Now Hikaru was helping his dear wife back into bed, because why? because the hospital was entitled to have his wife take physio-theory. It was her choice whether or not she wanted to take it, and she did.

The man who had been giving her these half hour sessions, was a cold hearted monster in Hikaru opinion, but Haruhi never said a thing about it. He would make her sit up, sit on the edge of the bed, stand up, and occasionally she'd collapse from the pain that dominated her from the ribcage down. Luckily, Hikaru (to his own surprise) caught her every time before she'd hit the floor.

This time, the man had just left, and Haruhi was still in shock from falling over, and hadn't moved in the last two minutes as she and her husband watched as the physiologist pack up his things and leave.

"I'd hate to see what his love life's like," He muttered into his wife's hear once the man was gone. Haruhi rolled her eyes to him and clung securely to his forearms. "Jerk. I hate people like him."

Haruhi tilted her head up to look at him. "He's just doing his job."

"He's so bossy," he complained, gently helping her to her feet, glancing down at her in concern as she flinched. "He's all do this and do that. I think I saw him roll his eyes that last time you fall over like a toy."

Haruhi made a face. "Remember though, you're paying him to be bossy."

"I'm paying him?"

"Well, you're not exactly paying him directly, but his bill is coming out of the doctor bill. Which I don't even want to think about. I bet it's huge."

"Don't worry about that Haru, I pay someone to look at our bills."

She snorted. "Of course you do."

"We're rich, we can afford a small country." He explained, rubbing his nose into her cheek while holding her hand as he helped her sit on the bed (even if she didn't need him help siting, she had got that part down). "And don't worry about the costs here. You're worth every penny."

Haruhi opened her mouth to reply to that with some comment saying that if he wanted to get technical about it, she wasn't really worth that much, but whatever it was she was going to say, was cut off, as Hikaru chose then to stoop down to her level and give her kiss.

She made a tiny sound of surprise and she fell back a little, and gripped the blankets as her abdomen twinged, and inhaled sharply against their lips. Hikaru pulled back instantly.

"I'm Sorry, d-did that hurt?"

"A little. It's gonna be a little while before you can tackle me and express your love."

He pouted. "...It's not fair, you're taking a long time to heal."

"It's only been two weeks." Haruhi held her breath as she scooted herself up onto the bed, to lay against the pillows. "Wasn't it you who called it near death experience? Be patient."

Hikaru stuck his bottom lip out and crawled on to the bed next to her. He carefully laid down so not to aggravate her wound. "I know... I don't like waiting. I don't want to leave you here while I'm in... California." He grimaced. "Couldn't have been Italy or England. No, it had to be America."

"Quit compl-"

"Who in America can afford me anyway?"

"Lots of people I guess. I don't know."

"I don't like how I don't know how long I'll be there either," he continued to whine, as he moved to lay beside her on the pillows. Grasping her hand he sighed. "You'll be sitting here all by your lonesome little self regretting on letting me leave I'll be feeling lonely and everyone's just gonna be one hell of a lonely bunch of sorry little-"

"Hun, you're rambling."

"I'm mad."

"I know."

"Pissed even."

"I know, you're always pissed. You're just one angry individual."

"Only because people like to make me angry. "

Getting more comfortable, Haruhi took a smooth deep breath and cuddled up next to her husband, who was already cupping his body against her. She laid her head on his shoulder, and one hand on her stomach. "Did you pack?"

He smirked. "Already trying to get rid of me?"

"You leave in the morning Hika."

"Good grief, you've been counting the days too? Honestly Haru, I can't believe I had the impression that you actually loved me."

She rolled her eyes, entwining her fingers into his with her free hand with the hand he had around her shoulders. "Don't be such a drama queen, you know I love you. That's why I'm reminding you. I don't want you to forget anything."

"Honey, if I forget, I could just buy whatever it is, again." He snickered, nuzzling his nose into her neck. "I packed don't worry. That's what I was doing this afternoon."

Haruhi sighed hopelessly. "Obviously, always doing things at the last minute."

Hikaru gave her a cheeky smile and held her in both his arms. "What can I say? I'm a bad boy."

"I always wondered what type I was into."

He winked. "The little devil type."

She titled her head up to look at him, and smiled. "Apparently so."

"I knew you were the second you walked through that room." He murmured seductively, biting his lip as he leaned down, kissing her on the lips. He untangled one hand from around her and cupped her cheek, tilting her face to a particular angle.

Haruhi moaned lightly, losing her eyes as she moved her now free hand up to burry it into his hair, mussing it between her fingers. She tried to move to get closer to him, but she froze when she felt the slightest bit of pain.

Hikaru laid on his side, carefully moving one of his legs over her, just to get as close to her as possible without hurting her. He paused and said against their lips. "I miss you."

She stared at him with half lidded eyes. "You haven't left yet."

"No, I've missed you for a long time." He sighed laying another kiss on her lips before moving along her bottom lip, and her jawline. "It's been so long since it's been... perfect. It hasn't been the same since he decided to pop up again."

"...Are you talking about Ku-"

He pressed a finger to her lips. "We're not suppose to say his name anymore."

Haruhi blinked, and only breathed again once he drew his finger away. "I forgot."

"He doesn't have to be apart of our life anymore. Despite the fact that he keeps popping up."

"It was only once that he popped up." She grumbled, looking back up at him. "But yeah, even before K-... him, our life together wasn't exactly normal."

"But it was nice."

"It was." She nodded in agreement, smirking up at his thoughtful expression. "This past year has been kind of crazy. I guess we have to get passed all the hard stuff before it's nice again."

"...You describe our life like it's like eating a tootsie pop."

"A tootsie... what? No."

"It's hard on the outside and all soft and good on the inside."

Haruhi scoffed, making herself into a more comfortable position. He moved a little so her head rested on his upper chest. "Hmm... I'm tired."

"Did you take your medication?"

Haruhi sighed. "I don't need to, it doesn't hurt that much right now."

He frowned, laying his cheek on her head. "You have to, or it'll be worse in the morning."

"But I'm sleepy."

He smirked, cupping her chin between his fingers. He titled her head up to look at him one more time and breathed. "What if I let you eat it from my mouth?"

"...I'm good."

"You sure? it'll help it go down easier."

"No... I'm good."

He laughed at her disgusted expression and reached over to the table to grab his wife's pill bottle. Only to get back into his comfortable position to cuddle her the rest of the night while she slept. Once she had taken her meds.

"We should try it anyway."

"No."

"Now I know what we're gonna do when I get sick."

"You're so gross."

While Hikaru and Haruhi were at the hospital, wasting the last of the daylight just idly chatting about things that didn't necessarily have any special meaning, hours had passed and it was now nine at night. Haruhi had dozed off while laying on him. Hikaru was left to play with her hair while she slept.

Clear across town, living on the top floor of a penthouse apartment. Everything was dark and shadowed. Only one light in the entire house was on, and that the kitchen light, where a couple sat, talking and making dinner.

Hikaru wasn't the only one who decided to dawdle and procrastinate in getting ready to leave. Kaoru waited until six o-clock in the evening to get his things situated, so either him or Suzuki had eaten dinner because they had decided that they had more important things to do with each other than help one pack.

Kaoru was sitting on the counter, tapping his heels against the cabinets as he watched his fiancée fiddle with the stove as she made dinner. He nibbled his bottom lip anxiously as he watched her bump random things into the pot.

His dear fiancée has never been a bad cook, but she was never a good cook either, and watching her dump things into a pot willy-nilly made him grimace almost in disgust. He didn't want to get in her way though, so he continued to just sit there, propped on the countertop.

Suzuki looked a the pot on the stove, and watched it steam from the burner. She raised her eyebrow and looked around for a spoon. She smirked once she found one and held a spoonful of her "miso" soup out to him.

"Taste." She demanded.

He looked at the spoon and bit the side of his lip. "It's done?"

"Yes. Well... almost."

He smiled. "I'll taste it when it's done."

"...It smells weird doesn't it?"

"I didn't say that! I just don't want to spoil it."

"...I'm still not good at making miso..."

Kaoru gripped the edges of the counter and shoo his head. "Honest, Su, it doesn't smell bad either. I'm just not that hungry yet. I just like watching you cook."

She looked at him and frowned, lowering the spoon away from him. "You told me that you were hungry an hour ago..."

Kaoru mentally cursed his habit to always try and be as nice as possible. "No, I lost my appetite, I promise. I'll eat whatever you cook. You make great coffee, I swear. There's a reason why I haven't made my own coffee ever since meeting you."

Suzuki glared and turned back to the giant pot of goop that was suppose to be soup. It smelt odd and even she didn't want to eat it. "...Kaoru?"

"Yes?"

"How many times a day do you lie to me?"

He gasped. "I don't lie to you, ever."

"So you'll eat a whole bowl of this, and ask for seconds?"

"I'll eat the whole pot."

"And like it?"

"Of course I'll like it, you made it! You look so adorable in that apron."

"I wasn't talking about the apron."

Kaoru bit down on the inside of his cheek and wiggled oddly on the counter. He looked over at her, and watched her glance over at the oven, where she had biscuits cooking. They smelt good. She was always better at baking then she was at going up to the stove and making something.

"Okay... It does smell kind of weird, and... I can't be a hundred percent sure that you don't have eyeballs floating in there, but I will eat it. Honest, and if you really want me to have two bowls. Or the whole pot, I'm really not that hungry but for you I'll eat it..."

Suzuki sighed. "At least you're honest. I don't really think it's edible at all anymore... I ruined it when I put too much garlic in it."

"...I didn't know there's garlic in miso."

"..."

"I bet that makes it have a more unique taste though!"

She stared at the pot that was boiling over now, and lost all tension in her shoulders as she slumped against the other counter. "Maybe we should have a maid in our new house... Your brother does."

"Hikaru and Haruhi have maids, but their mostly to watch the kids and clean," he explained. "Haruhi does all the cooking when if she gets off work early enough. Don't worry about doing anything, we can have enough maids that you wouldn't even have to list a finger. We could have a maid to lift your fingers for you even."

She bit her lip to keep in a suppressed laugh as she grabbed the lid of the pot to cover the soup from spewing over the edges of the pot. "I think I can do that much."

Kaoru grinned, tapping his heels against the cabinets again as he looked down at his watch after pulling up his sleeve. It was nearing ten thirty and he was growing a little tired, but it wasn't enough for him to want to go to bed just yet. The sooner morning would come the sooner he'd have to leave.

Four years ago, before he had met Suzuki, he would have no problem going out of town with his brother. He actually had fun and liked going out of town all the time, and was almost disappointed when he had to come back, simply because he had nothing to come back to after Kazumi left him.

Now he had Suzuki, and he wanted nothing more then to stay with her twenty-four seven. Normally the girls were always the ones accused of being the clingy ones, but even he had to admit that he was the one to get a little possessive over her.

He glanced over at her and watched as she fiddle with the oven, checking to see if the biscuits were cooking. He was still sitting on the counter, with his feet hovering over the floor by a few inches. Sure he could have sat on one of the darkly polished bar stools, but he didn't, because those were all the way across the kitchen.

He nibbled on his lip as he gripped the counter tighter, giving her a look of uncertainty. "...Su, are you sure you're okay with me leaving?"

"Kind of a little late to be asking me this question," she said bluntly, shutting the oven door closed. "And I already said I'd tolerate it..." she paused and turned to him. "Get off the counter, what are you, five?"

Snorting in humorously, Kaoru hopped off the counter and stood up straight. "I was just asking. Cause I'm not okay with leaving. I'll be lonely without you."

"I'm sure you'll be fine. You won't be lonely, you'll have your secretary."

"That's not fair." He pouted, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. "I'm not the least bit interested in Miyuki at all. Have you see her fiancée? He's huge. Even if I did have something for her, he'd eat me before I could even do something about it."

"So-"

"Don't say that he's the only reason why I don't try anything with her," He put his hands out, stopping her from saying another word. "Though I'm flattered that you're so concerned about me. Just proves that you love me so much. I'm not even mad, you're so adorable."

"I wasn't going to say that."

"But you were thinking it."

"Shut up."

"I love you."

Suzuki looked away from the bubbling pot. "You always say that when you get in trouble. It's going to loose it's affect."

With that, Kaoru smirked and crept over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist form behind making her inhale sharply in surprise. "Loosing it's affect? that's not good. Were not even married yet. We're just at the peak of our relationship."

"Peak? We're engaged."

"Right, the bottom of the is dating, the peak is engaged, and marriage is down hill."

She scoffed. "Marriage is down hill."

"Uh, well not down hill like that, I worded that wrong. Ugh, being with you I can't think straight."

"Yeah, you were once good at that."

"I know, you're a bad influence on me. Like Hika says."

"I don't look forward in being related to him any time soon."

Kaoru snickered, nuzzling his nose into her neck. "Aw, he talks about being your big brother all the time at work."

"He miss pronounces my name all the time on purpose just to make me mad."

"Miss pronounce his name," Kaoru's lips curved a little as he breathed down her neck. His voice was soft and he gently laid his lips against his neck, smirking a little as he felt her shoulders tense. "You could call him Hibaki."

Suzuki breathed softly and felt his warm sleeved arms wrap around her own arms to hold her more securely. His mind flickered briefly back to what they had done just hours earlier together and her lustrous green eyes darken. "...What?"

"You could call him Hibaki, to make him mad."

"...Make who mad?"

"What?"

"What were we talking about just now...?"

Kaoru blinked, and glanced down at her slightly concerned, until he aw a tiny smirk on her face as she turned around, encircled in his arms, to face him. "About how much you love me and how much you'll miss me?"

"Yeah, sure," she replied with an eye roll, and pinched his nose. "You won't be gone too long, will you?"

"Not on purpose." He said, she titled her head back and he leaned down and gave her a tiny kiss. "I miss you already."

As their lips parted, her face flustered bright red and she looked down, away from his glimmering bronze eyes and laid her forehead agsint his chest, being a whole foot smaller than him, the top of her head barely met with his collarbone.

Staying still for a few moments longer, against each other, they both had forgotten what they were previously doing, and both jumped slightly at the sound of the fire alarm go off.

They both sighed.

Glancing at the stove, Suzuki noticed the soup was over flowing and the biscuits were smoking in the oven. "...We're gonna have to make something else..."

Kaoru smirked, playing with the tips of her hair. "We'll just order take out."

"...At eleven at night?"

He grinned, taking her attention away from the stove to kiss her again. "Why not?"

"Haru..."

Silence-

"Baby?"

More silence-

"Wake up. I know it's early, but I gotta go."

Even more silence-

Standing over the hospital bed, looking down at his sleeping wife who had the covers pulled up to her chin, Hikaru leaned over with his hands on the mattress. His back was turned to him as she laid on her side.

The sun was barely rising, and early sunshine peaked through the trees, tinting everything in a bright orange. He had glanced out the window while changing, and he admitted that it was pretty, but he also cursed the sunshine for coming so soon.

"Haruhi," he muttered, leaning over to be closer to her. His breath tickled her cheek that was bare from the covers. "Wake up so I can leave. I'm already being bombarded with text messages from my Amaya. I have to meet Kao at the airport."

"...Hmm."

"Haru, you're being mean."

Groaning sleepily, Haruhi twitched under the blankets and rubbed her face into the pillow. She was silent again for a few more moments before sinking further into the bed. "Mmm... Okay..."

Hikaru sulked. "Babe, wake up, I have to leave. I already don't like this. I have to leave before Kao does because I have to stop at the house. I promised Hanako I'd wake her up."

Haruhi groaned again, her back still turned to him . "It's so early."

"I know, baby, sorry." He rolled his eyes and carefully sat down on the bed, laying his hand on her shoulder. "You can go back to sleep in a second. I have to leave literally in ten minutes so I'm not utterly late when I get the airport."

"...Okay, have fun."

"Don't be like that, roll your butt over here and give me a goodbye kiss."

"...But I'm so tired."

"Too tired to kiss me? Honestly Haruhi you hurt my feelings."

"Hmm, just go. It's so early. I'm too sore to move."

"That's probably because you only took one pill last night instead of two." Frowning, Hikaru tapped her shoulder a little lightly with his finger tip and rubbed his face into her hair. "Now stop being so stubborn, you'll miss me when I'm gone."

"I miss my dream I was just having."

"Was it about me?"

"...Tuna."

"Ugh, Haruhi, I'm leaving, give me a kiss before I leave and you regret in the morning that you didn't say bye!"

"Shh, I have a headache."

"Haru!"

Grumbling a curse word under her breath, Haruhi titled her body around to lay on her back and gripped the blankets as her abdomen ached. She tried to ignore it. She turned and tried to open her eyes enough to look at him through the darkness. "Night."

"You mean goodbye?" He clenched his jaw and ran his finger across her cheek. Her body was just an outlined figure in the bed. "Goodbye Hika my darling but have ne fear, we'll see each other soon, try not to miss me as much as I'll miss you, you say, then I say, don't worry my love, we're be together again, and not missing you will be impossible. I'll be counting the seconds until we're reunited. We kiss, I walk, you cry, darn it Haruhi, where's the romance? What are we? some old married couple?"

"...Okay, okay, god you complain so much," Haruhi's voice strained as he tilted her face upwards. That tiny little movement was apparently the only thing that he needed, and instantly his lips took hers. She of course just laid there motionless, not evening putting the least bit of effort.

"Haru," he whined, as he pulled back, narrowing his brow at his wife. "At least try, you can't be that tired. Look, even I got up, and I'm not tired. I stayed up later than you did."

"You'll probably sleep the whole time in the jet."

"Probably, but I at least want you to give me a kiss before I leave. Don't make me feel like I'm kissing a dead person."

"But I'm so tired."

"You can go back to sleep when I leave, I promise."

Haruhi rolled her eyes, and groggily turned her head to face him. His golden eyes that were shadowed by the darkness barely made an impact on her as she grabbed his face and brought him down, giving him a deep, lazy kiss, that lasted a little longer than any other kiss she had ever given him by herself.

It wasn't until his phone beeped with another message that Haruhi let her hands drop from his cheeks and cuddled back up to her pillow. "Bye."

Hikaru sighed. "Really Haruhi, don't cry when I leave, it'll make me sad."

"Love you."

"You're not even looking at me."

"Hika, the medication makes me so sleepy." She frowned into her pillow, again ignoring the pain in her stomach she turned over carefully. "Call me when you get there."

"You know I will." He stuck his lower lip out and leaned over her, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck, reluctantly he replied. "I changed my mind. I don't wanna leave anymore."

"I know, I don't want you to leave either, but the sooner you leave the sooner you can come back."

"You've sure got a funny way in showing it, Haru, but fine, I'll take it."

"It's better than nothing."

"It near to nothing is what it is."

Haruhi groaned as she looked at him again, slowly her weariness was fading, but only slightly. "Okay, fine." She reached her hand up to touch his cheek again. "I'll miss you, a lot, come back as soon as you can."

"That's better." He gave her a tiny smirked. "I gotta go now, Amaya's probably waiting for me already at the airport and is asking where I am. She's really excited to go to America."

"That's nice."

"Alright, I'll let you go back to sleep." He sighed in defeat, realizing that, that was the most he was going to get out of her before she'd start to get irritated. "Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone, please? I've been through just about as much as I can handle."

"I promise I will not move from this spot."

"Don't talk to anyone you don't know, refuse any help from male nurses, When that physiologist comes over and he asks you to do something and it's too uncomfortable just call me and I'll tell him off for you."

"I'll remember that. You should probably go now, before you get in trouble. You need to see the kids too."

"Crap, already forgot."

In one fast movement, Hikaru stooped down and kissed her on the cheek (her lips were facing the other way) and stroked her hair once before standing up straight. "I love you."

"I love you more."

He smirked, tilting her face towards him again, cupping her chin in his fingers, kissing her again for good measures. "We'll leave it at that for now."

And with that, Hikaru stood up straight again this time to leave and grabbed his bag that was sitting on the chair. His other, much bigger bags were already taken down to the limo waiting outside for him.

"And Hika."

He was half way to the door when she called out to him for the last time, he dropped his bag and hurried over to her bedside, placing his hand over her's and glancing at her in concern. "What? what's that matter?"

She glanced at him, her eyes half-lidded. "When you come back we'll start planning that family vacation."

"...Family..." he muttered, raising an eyebrow. He stood there for a few short seconds before his mind ticked back to what they had talked about earlier and he suddenly grinned. "Yeah... We'll do that."

One more kiss and then he left, leaving Haruhi to think about the woman named Amaya who he had been saying, but she didn't think about it long, as she honestly didn't care and casually went back to dreaming about her feeding a unicorn tuna.

Did you guys like this evidently pointless chapter that took me a week to write?

Remember when it used to take me two days to write a 5,000 word chapter? Yeah... Me too. I'm sorry these updates have been slow. I don't know what's wrong with me, I used to be good at it. I've been working on my new story "She's Gone" and I know I promised no more stories until I was done with this one, but I just got so excited about that one. I'm still excited! It'd mean the world to me if you'd check it out.

It's been a whole year since 've posted this story, and I almost brings me to tears to say that it's coming to a finish. That's why I'm writing a sequel so I don't have to say goodbye to the characters and my OC's just yet. It makes me happy, I love writing about this family. Though I have to ask...

How do you guys enjoy my OC's? I always try to make my OC's as enjoyable as possible, even though OC's irritate me too in other stories. If you don't really care for them, the sequel will be a little hard for you to read, since it's all about the children and the children are kind of my OC's and stuff... I'm sorry.

As for a few questions on this story, yes, the sequel will be about the triplets when they are in high school. They will be teens. But Hikaru and the rest of the host club members will obviously be a little old. It's thirteen years into the future... I hope you like the triplets though, because the story will consist around them most. Is that okay? There will be HikaHaru there too! but it will mostly be about the triplets...

Thank you for reading this, I hope I can get the next chapter up soon, but I must update "It Never Would'a Worked Out Anyway" first. Please tell me whoever has read that fanfic, and listened to the song. It's a great song, and I hope listening to it, will help make the story make more sense. Cause you know... Hikaru's kind of a douchbag... just saying.

Thank you for reading! I love you guys so much! You're my pride and joy! If I didn't have you, I wouldn't feel so lucky every morning. Blacknekocat, I must praise you, you have reviewed on every single one of my chapters from Blossoming Beloved to Strawberry Shampoo, and you have yet to miss a chapter for this story too. A gold star for the best reading goes out to you my friend!
