"What happened after that, Mom?"

"Is it all true?"

"Did Uncle Lucas write anything about me?"

I couldn't suppress the laugh that emit from the back of my throat when my kids crawled along my bed, frantically shouting their questions when I finished reading to them.

"The rest is still being written." I smiled contently, watching my two little rascals continue to hop on the mattress. "And yes, every word is true." My smile widened, nearly cracking my cheeks. Pride pulsed through my veins as I looked over the cover of the novel entitled, "The Story of Us" written by Lucas and Nathan Scott.

My husband. A writer. Who would've thought?

Of course, the bulk of the novel was written by his cousin Lucas, who actually is an author, but my wonderful, perfect, blessing of a husband was the one who inspired the idea. He even wrote a few chapters by himself- one of the best surprises I had ever received.

The entire novel was entirely written about our relationship; from the start up until our first son, Jamie, was born- of course, our love story is no where near ending; my very swollen stomach can attest to that.

"Read it 'gain!" My baby girl, Lydia, who had just recently turned three, shouted with a giddy smile.

"Ugh, not again!" Seven year old Jamie groaned as he walked into the bedroom with my shirtless husband hot on his heels. I swear Jamie is a carbon copy of Nathan. The only difference is their hair color. Seriously, I almost laughed when I noticed they were wearing the same exact blue and white plaid pajama bottoms and albeit, both shirtless. So then, of course, when my other son, five-year-old Jackson, saw that his brother and Daddy didn't wear shirts, he whipped off his buzz light year pajama top, so that he wouldn't be left out.

"You've created monsters." I joked, gazing at Nathan with a slick smirk. He knew how I felt about the shirtless thing… obviously I would love if he was shirtless every second but it's not setting the best example for our boys. I really didn't need budding exhibitionists on my hands.

"A monster?!" Lydia screamed, her large brown eyes which mirrored mine, widened in horror.

Nathan rushed over to his angel and immediately lifted her into his arms. "No, little bear, there are no monsters in here. Mommy was just being silly. Right Hales?"

I nodded feverishly, "Right."

"So," Nathan began, climbing onto the mattress with Lydia clinging to his neck, "You're reading 'Story of Us' to them, again? This is what, like, the tenth time?" He joked. "You do realize you're turning them into dorks, don't you, babe?"

I playfully rolled my eyes, "There is nothing wrong with reading them their favorite book."

"But we heard it a gazillion times!" Jamie mumbled, joining us on the bed. "Everybody knows you and Dad met when you were four and became best friends but neither of you had the guts to tell each other you were in love until after college, blah, blah, blah, then you fell in love again and got married and had me, Jackson, Lydia, and now another new baby." He reiterated in a huff.

Nathan grinned, "You say it like it's a bad thing."

"Yeah," I coaxed. "If this story didn't exist, you wouldn't be here buddy."

Jackson picked his head up from off my chest and frowned, "Neither would I!"

Lydia, not really understanding the conversation, furrowed her questioning eyebrows. "What do you mean, Mama?"

"She means that if she and I never met, we wouldn't have gotten married or had you kids." Nathan explained softly.

A frown traced her lips at the sickening thought, "I'm glad you met Mommy!"

"Me too." Nathan whispered, our eyes collided as I gave him a dreamy smile. God, after all this time he still makes my heart feel like I'm on speed.

We were about to lean in for a kiss, when Jackson groaned. "Ew! Gross! You guys are always kissing." He scrunched his face as if he had just ate something sour.

"One day when you're married to the beautiful girl of your dreams, you'll understand bud." Nathan smirked causing the infamous rosy blush to burst over my skin.

Jamie, who often pretended to be weirded out by our PDA, smiled softly. I knew he secretly loved mine and Nathan's story, contrary to his actions. When he was Lydia's age, he'd ask for us to read it to him all the time and we were happy to share it, minus the love scenes obviously. Even Jackson became obsessed, but as he grew older, he slowly adapted to Jamie's aloof philosophy. Now it was Lydia's turn to swoon over the romance, even if she was a bit young to fully grasp the idea.

"I'm gonna marry someone just like you, Daddy!" Lydia cooed.

My heart nearly melted every time they were together; the father-daughter relationship was absolutely adorable.

"You're not allowed to get married until you're at least forty, okay Princess?" Nathan muttered protectively.

"Okay, Dadda." Lydia happily obliged, always eager to make her Daddy proud.

Since the day the doctor told us we were having a baby girl, Lydia Deborah Scott had Nathan wrapped tightly around her finger. Nathan had never been more thrilled of the fact that we were going to have a "mini-Haley", as he so eloquently dubbed it. I, too, was over the moon. After all, we already had two mini-Nathan's, so it was only fair we earned another girl in the Scott house. I was starting to think the Scott boy curse was true… not that I would mind because I absolutely adore my boys. Nonetheless, it was still nice to have a girl. Lydia was my twin while Jackson, Jamie, and Nathan were triplets. We're waiting to be surprised to find out the gender of the next baby, but as long as he or she is healthy, that's all we care about. Lydia, on the other hand, really wants a baby sister whereas Jackson wants another brother. Jamie said he didn't mind the gender because he was just excited he'd get to be a big brother again.

"I think it's time for bed, guys." Nathan announced when he noticed our sleepy eyes start to droop heavily.

"Nooo!" Lydia shrieked, clinging tighter to his bare neck. "I wanna sleep with you and Mommy!"

I fought a groan. "Lyd, we've talked about this. You can't sleep in the big bed anymore. You have your own bed."

Lydia turned to her father and pouted. She could get away with murder with those big doe eyes and pouty lip. Nathan never said no to her, and she was already turning very spoiled.

"You heard your Mom, Princess. You have to sleep in your bed tonight, okay?"

Her lip quivered as she whimpered in his arms. "But Daddy, I don't want to…"

He gently stood up with her still in his arms and pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Lydia." He said more sternly. "If you sleep in your bed tonight maybe I'll let you get ice cream after your first day of school tomorrow. How does that sound?"

her eyes immediately brightened, "OK!"

"Can I get ice cream, too, Daddy?" Jackson asked as he flashed us his infamously inherited Scott smirk.

"Of course, Buddy. Maybe we can go down to the River Court, too." Nathan suggested.

"Sweet!" Jamie threw his fist in the air triumphantly.

"Yeah!" Jackson agreed with a large smile.

"Come on, bro, let's go get ready for bed." Jamie advised, taking Jackson's little hand in his. He had been more than elated when he found out he was getting a little brother. There were about two years between them, but they acted like twins. Everything Jamie did, Jackson followed, and of course, everything my husband did, the boys did. They were already infatuated with all things basketball- even Lydia had her own pink rubber basketball and would bounce it around with her brothers. It seemed there was no escape from the Scott athletic gene.

Thank God because if our kids inherited my clumsiness none of them would be able to hold a ball. They're the perfect blend of Nathan and I, though. Each of them are unbelievably brilliant and athletic but posses their own unique talents, too.

Jamie is so caring and loves to take care of others; Nathan thinks he'll become a Doctor. Jackson's a sweetheart too, but he's also got a bit of a daredevil streak in him. He's so bold and brave and I have a feeling he'll become a cop or fireman considering how obsessed he is with wearing the uniforms.

Lydia, well she's still young, but she's already taken a liking to music and painting. She even likes fashion. Brooke has a field day with her. I'll come home from work and find her in my heels and make-up; it's too cute to get mad at.

All three of them are the perfect blend between Nathan and me and I couldn't possibly love them more. They're my entire world, the reason for my existence, and I don't know how I'd live without them.

I won't lie, because sometimes it's crazy with three little kids, and now another one on the way, but I love this life. I am, without-a-doubt, the luckiest woman alive. I have the best husband, and amazing children.

"Mommy and I will tuck you boys in after you brush your teeth. Now chop, chop. Big day tomorrow!" Nathan enthused, clapping his hands.

Ugh, don't remind me. Tomorrow my babies are starting school again and I'm not ready for it at all. Jamie's starting second grade, Jackson's going into Kindergarten, and Lydia is going to pre-school for the first time ever.

He must have sensed my sullen change, so he placed a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, everything will be alright." Nathan whispered.

Damn these pregnancy hormones make me so emotional. "I know, I'm sorry, I just… I can't believe how big they're getting!"

"Don't worry," he cracked a smile. "We're not even near done being parents."

My eyebrows arched above my forehead, "Oh really? You're lucky you got me to cave for number four. I would have been fine with three."

Nathan chuckled, "Maybe we can break the record for most kids. We can be like the Duggar's."

I fell back onto the bed and groaned. I could never have 19 kids. Just the thought of it made me shudder.

The truth was, I loved making babies with Nathan. If it didn't hurt so much, maybe I would have twenty more kids.

"How about five then?" He asked with a hopeful smile.

"How about I get this one out first, then we'll talk?" I countered, feeling the baby kick strongly against my six month stomach.

"Okay." Nathan agreed, leaning down to kiss my forehead. "I'll be right back, I'm going to get this one into bed." He whispered, pointing to a now sleeping Lydia in his arms. She had been so excited all day that she got to go to school tomorrow. It was funny because she reminded me so much of myself at her age. I'll never forget how enthusiastic I was on the first day of pre-school. She too, had packed her purple flower decorated backpack with tons of new pencils, crayons, and books. Nathan loved the fact she was so similar to me, but couldn't help and make jokes about how she'd be a nerd. I don't care, I'm just so proud of her.

Once again, tears welled in my eyes as I sat up and cupped her cheek. "I love you, angel. Sweet dreams." I whispered, causing her to stir gently.

"Night momma." She replied in a soft murmur.

Nathan gave me a gentle sloped smile before walking out of our bedroom to place Lydia in her own bed. Meanwhile, I could hear the boys in their bathroom giggling, doing God only knows what. I smile and close my eyes, content with where my story has lead me. I couldn't have gotten here without the love of my life and my partner in crime. I am so incredibly thankful for him.

"Goodnight, bear. I love you so much." Nathan whispered to Lydia before kissing her hair.

"Goodnight Daddy. I love you, too." She mumbled.

Nathan placed the blanket over her small frame before shutting the light and closing the door. He then made his way to where the boys were and laughed when he noticed shaving cream all over their faces.

"What are you guys doing?" He asked with an amused grin.

"Shaving, Daddy, just like you!" Jackson beamed with a wad of foamy cream surrounding his tiny face.

He shook his head and pulled out his phone, taking a picture. "You don't have to worry about shaving for a long time, kiddo. Now come on, let's get you cleaned up."

Walking over to the sink, Nathan grabbed wash cloths and wet them to help rinse off the suds on the boy's faces.

He gently brought the towel up to their faces and washed away the mess.

"Are you gonna shave?" Jamie asked.

Nathan slowly ran his hand over his scruff sprinkled jaw, "Nah, maybe tomorrow. Your mom said she likes it."

"You should grow a beard, Daddy!" Jackson suggested, laughing at the idea.

Nathan glanced in the mirror before turning on the sink and cleaning the mess.

"Huh. I don't know, Jack." He smiled down at him. "I don't think I'd look good with a beard."

"How about a mustache?" Jamie requested.

Another chuckle tore from his throat, "No way, little man."

"Can I get a mohawk?" Jackson asked while playing with his short dark hair in the mirror.

"Ask your mom." Nathan answered, eager to dodge the question.

Once the boys were cleaned up, Nathan watched as they brushed their teeth- making sure they didn't rush or swallow any toothpaste.

"Dad?" Jackson asked again, flashing his hazel eyes at Nathan. "Can I sleep without my shirt, like you?"

Nathan glanced at his naked chest and shrugged, "Sure."

"Why do you have boxes on your stomach?" He asked as Nathan followed him into his basketball decorated room.

"It's muscle buddy." He smirked, referring to his obvious six pack abs.

"Mommy always touches your muscles." Jackson mumbled, crawling into bed with a scrunched face.

Nathan's smirk stretched longer over his lips, "She does, huh?"

"I can't wait to be big and strong like you, Daddy!"

Nathan smiled as he leaned over and pressed a kiss on his forehead. "You and Jamie are already the strongest guys I know."

Jackson giggled, clutching onto his black teddy bear which donned a Bobcats jersey. "Goodnight."

"'Night, bud. Love you." He ruffled his hair, then turned to shut out the light before venturing across the hall and into Jamie's room where he was sprawled above his bed reading a book about basketball.

"You ready for bed, Jimmy-Jam?"

"Yup." His smile matched Nathan's as he turned down the covers of his bed. "And Dad?"

"Yeah?"

"The Story of Us is still my favorite book." Jamie revealed cheekily.

"Mine too, bud." Nathan smirked and leaned down to press a kiss on his forehead. "Love you. Sleep well."

Jamie's eyes fluttered closed, "Love you too. G'night." He mumbled as Nathan shut the light.

I was lying in bed, my hand clutching Nathan's pillow, when he walked in boasting a large smile.

"They're all asleep." Nathan grinned at me as an uncanny blush ignited over my skin.

"Oh and you just assume you're getting lucky?" I teased with a tantilizing smirk, watching as he climbed onto the matress ready to take me in his arms.

"I already am lucky." He whispered in my ear, draping a protective arm around my stomach. "How's our baby?"

My bones melted in his embrace, "Our baby is perfect."

He pressed a gentle kiss under my ear causing a soft sigh to emit from my lips. "I love you, Nathan Scott."

"I love you, too."

Rolling over gently, I turned to face his glistening blue eyes which bore into mine. "Sometimes I can't even believe this is my life. It's always been my dream to be here with you. To have a family with you and I never knew it was possible to be this happy."

Nathan brought his hand up to my cheek and smiled softly. "I know. I have to pinch myself to remind me that this is real. The three year old boy in me can't believe he got you; the beautiful, sarcastic, spitfire, smart, sexy, Haley James. You're mine, always."

"It's nice after all this time." I mused softly.

"It's everything after all this time."

We shared a soft, passionate kiss.

"You know…" I began all the while running my hands over his muscular chest, "Most people who fall in love at an early age, don't make it, and the people around them don't believe in them. But the one thing I'm sure of is that we will always be together no matter what. We've come so far and I don't want this life if I'm not living it with you by my side every step of the way."

"No one's ever doubted us." Nathan beamed. "Because they knew we were meant to be together."

"I'm so happy we had everyone's support."

Nathan chuckled, "They knew we were going to be together before we did. I can't believe it took me 20 years to pull my head out of my ass. When I remember how I almost lost you forever, I want to kick myself. I hate the way I treated you. I was so dumb."

I gave him a reassuring smile and ran my thumb over his black freckle under his left eye.

"It doesn't matter. We would be together in the end no matter what. It may have taken eight months or eighty years, we would be together. I truly believe that. We belong together."

Nathan nodded wordlessly, once again leaning down and capturing my lips in a frenzied kiss. He ran his hands over my back but came to an abrupt stop when he felt a strong kick against my stomach.

"I guess we woke the baby." He laughed.

Together, we brought our hands to my rounded belly and smiled. "Can you believe Jamie's seven already?"

Nathan groaned playfully, "And Lydia's starting pre-school tomorrow…"

"Ugh. Don't remind me." I pouted softly. "My baby girl is getting so big."

"I'm not ready for her to grow up. Hell, Jamie and Jackson were just trying to shave! I nearly had a heart attack!"

A loud laugh tore from my lips, temporarily forgetting my children were asleep. "What?"

"Yeah, I'm serious! I walked into their bathroom and they had shaving cream all over their faces. And of course they were shirtless."

I giggled, "Aw they want to be just like their Daddy."

"Remember when Lydia put on your high heels and lipstick?"

"How could I forget?" I smiled at the memory. Just a few months ago Nathan and I were getting ready to go on one of our weekly dates while our mother's watch the kids. I was getting ready in the bathroom and Lydia walked in with my red heels and lipstick smudged all over her lips. She smiled proudly when she said, 'Look Momma, I'm you!'

It was one of those instances where I didn't know if I should yell or laugh; it ended up being the latter.

"I love that she's a mini-you." Nathan smirked, "But boy are we going to have our hands full."

"Hey!" I playfully slapped his chest. "I wasn't that bad."

"I beg to differ. Jeeze, it'll be like growing up with you all over again."

"Oh shush. I wouldn't talk. I have two mini-Nathan's I have to deal with. Let's just pray they don't teach ten year old girls what sex is."

Nathan laughed at the memory. We were only 10 when he told me about sex and I didn't believe him. Who would have thought he'd be my first and only? We taught each other everything. Everything I've ever learned about life and love, I learned from Nathan Scott.

"I wouldn't be laughing." I scolded teasingly. "We were Lydia's age when we met. Who knows… maybe tomorrow she'll meet the boy she's going to marry." I said dreamily.

"Don't even joke." Nathan tensed. "No way in hell is my baby meeting any boys."

I rolled my eyes, "You do realize you're being the biggest hypocrite ever, right? I think it would be adorable if she met someone like you. I'll never forget how you stuck up for me on the first day of school. My hero- 'You look pretty when you smile'.."

I saw the corner of his lips curve upwards and smiled. "Well that's different. I was just trying to charm you."

"Right." I drawled out sarcastically. "And if I remember correctly, we played house and you tried to kiss me. Then a week later your mom caught us kissing, AND we stripped in front of each other."

Nathan chuckled as he pinned me onto the bed and hovered above me. "That's right. Maybe we should do that again." He began tickling my sides as I let out a loud laugh.

"I can't believe we did that!" I grabbed his wrists and rolled over so now I was the one straddling his waist.

He kissed my hand and smirked,, "It was all a part of my master plan."

I rolled my eyes, grinning, "You've always been such a charmer."

"On second thought, maybe we shouldn't let Lydia go to school tomorrow… Three year old boys are punks."

"Smile for the camera, Lydia!" Deb called out eagerly as she snapped pictures of Lydia standing in front of her new pre-school.

"Grandma, no more pictures!" She pouted.

"Oh but honey, don't you want to see pictures of your Mommy and Daddy when they started pre-school?" My mother, Lydia James, asked with a teasing smile as my husband and I groaned.

"You don't want to torture her, Mom." I called out.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure we have a picture of you and Nathan kissing at her age."

When Nathan and I found out we were having a girl, we had a tough decision when trying to pick a name. We knew we wanted to name her after our mother's but we didn't know which one to chose for the first name and middle name. After discussing it with our mother's, Deb immediately protested, saying she hated her name and wouldn't want her baby granddaughter to be punished so she was more than thrilled to have 'Deb' as the middle name.

My mother was completely ecstatic. I don't think I've ever seen her that proud in my entire life.

Since then, Lydia Scott and Lydia James were practically attached at the hip; (when Nathan was willing to share her, of course).

The doors to the school opened, and piles of children ran inside. My daughter was one of them.

Nathan and I were soon hot on her heels and thankfully caught up to her before she had a chance to disappear.

"She's so you it's not even funny." Nathan whispered.

"I thought you loved that about her." I pointed out with a knowing smile.

"Oh I do, trust me. I love my little nerds." He smirked.

I playfully shoved him before leaning down and pulling Lydia close to me. "Have fun at school, sweetie. Daddy and I will be here to pick you up at the end of the day. We're going to miss you so much." I say with tears glistening in my eyes as she threw her arms around my neck. "I love you."

"I love you too, Mommy!" She beamed, before running over to Nathan who also fought the tears in his eyes.

"Remember, no talking to boys. Got it?"

"Daddy!" She giggled.

"I'm just kidding." He smiled, squeezing her tightly. "I love you. Have fun, okay?"

"Okay!"

"You know, Lyd. Your mommy and daddy met in pre-school." Deb spoke up.

"Don't give her any ideas, Ma." Nathan said tersely.

Before we knew it, Lydia ran straight to the bookshelf where a dirty blonde haired boy was reading a Clifford book.

"Too late." Deb smirked.

"It looks like history is about to repeat itself."

"Yeah, maybe you can write a sequel to The Story of Us." I gushed. "Because in some ways, our story is just beginning."

Nathan and I shared a brief kiss as he pulled me close. "I'll live happily ever after as long as you're with me."

The end.

Wow. It's over. I'm so happy (but sad) that I finished this. It was one of my goals. I put so much time and effort into writing this and I'm so glad to have been able to share it with you guys. Thank you everyone who read/reviewed/favorited/followed this story. Honestly, I couldn't have done this without you. Thanks for sticking with me on this journey. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.

I re-wrote this like five times. It's not perfect but I wanted it to be… I know it's vague and I apologize but I wanted to keep it simple and I had this ending planned since I wrote the first chapter. I hope it makes sense, lol, and I hope you liked it. Thank you again….
