Disclaimer: I don't own Marvel stuff!
I was shaken awake by the same nurse from yesterday. I sat up realizing that my forehead was slick with sweat yet I was shivering like crazy.
"Fever," the nurse explained.
I pulled the blanket tighter around myself.
"From shock," the nurse continued.
She handed me a glass of lemony smelling liquid.
"Drink up," she instructed.
I opened my mouth to say thank you but instead was sent into a coughing fit.
The nurse raised her eyebrows, "Easy now, missy. Do what I said."
I sipped out of the glass, the nurse nodded and left again.
Sighing I rested my head back on the pillow, warming my hands with the hot tea. I was bored again and getting really tired of this solitary confinement in this white room.
Suddenly from outside my room I heard a loud argument.
"Sir, you can't go in there!"
"Don't tell me what to do!" a gruff voice shouted back.
Voices were muffled through the door.
"She's sick as a dog."
"All the more reason to visit," I grinned knowing exactly who it is.
"Let's go!" another voice shouted.
A few seconds later Clint and Natasha barged into my room.
The stood in the doorway staring at me. I probably looked ridiculous sitting there with like, five blankets on me. I was confused, they weren't supposed to get back for three more weeks.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. Every time I spoke it felt like someone was ripping needles down my throat.
"Hello to you too," Clint said sarcastically pulling a chair over. Natasha doing the same.
After they were both seated I said, "I thought you weren't supposed to get back for a few more weeks?"
"Coulson called to check in, not even Fury can lie to Coulson," Clint said.
"Coulson got worried, here we are," Natasha finished.
"Oh," I said weakly.
Clint grinned, "You look fantastic."
"Shut it," I grumbled, wiping my forehead.
Natasha spoke carefully, "I heard your mission didn't go as planned."
I looked down, tears pricking the back of my eyes. "As in Will got shot and is in a coma?" I said dryly forcing myself not to cry.
I bit my tears back successfully not meeting Clint and Natasha's eyes.
A sudden flood of anger came over me. Will getting shot was SHIELD's fault. Hannigan touching me was SHIELD's fault. Our cover being blown was SHIELD's fault.
"It was SHIELD's fault!"I yelled. Surprising Clint and Natasha.
"They gave us false information! If we had had all the right info, our cover wouldn't have been blown! Will wouldn't have been shot! Hannigan wouldn't have...Nothing would have gone wrong!"
Roughly setting the tea on the bedside table I sat up. As I did Clint stood. I slid to my feet, my legs a bit wobbly. A feeling of no control came over me. Anger and lack of control. Anger at SHIELD.
"It's all their fault! It's all their fault! It's all their fault!" I yelled over and over, hysterically.
Natasha stood and both of them moved toward me.
I backed away slowly. Their faces worried.
"Izzy, calm down," Clint tried to calm me.
I shook my head quickly, "I have to see Will."
I bolted for the door, Natasha moved, blocking my escape. I stared at her and backed away a step. I felt trapped, as I had in Hannigan's grip. I looked around the room frantically, searching for a way out.
"Bella-"
My gaze shot to Natasha, her face passive.
I shook my head, "No, it's SHIELD's fault!"
I ran toward Natasha and the door.
I grabbed her arm, she tensed.
"Let me out!"I screamed, ignoring the searing pain in my throat. "I have to go see Will, I got to get out!"
Clint's arms wrapped around me from behind and pulled me back. I pulled and struggled.
"Let me go, you bird brain!" I shouted.
His arms and grip were to strong and my struggling did nothing. I pulled one last time before limply sagging, exhausted. Instead of screaming heavy tears flowed down my face. Clint picked me up and set me back on my bed draping the blankets back over my shivering body.
Clint's POV
Izzy fell limp in my arms. Her screaming subsiding into sobs. I gently picked her up and placed her back on the bed before pulling the blankets over her. As I pulled her dark hair from her sweaty neck, I noticed two dark purple, tender marks. Bella's hand immediately pulled her hair back down onto her neck and she turned away from me. Leaving me shocked. Nat had moved back to her seat. I stood thinking about where the marks might have come from. My eyes widened, Izzy hadn't finished her sentence in her rant. I prayed that I think happened didn't.
"Iz-" I whispered.
She didn't answer. Quiet sobs wracked her body.
Nat met my gaze and raised and eyebrow. I pulled Izzy's hair back once more. This time she made no effort to fight back, probably knowing I already knew or she just didn't care anymore.
Nat's face contorted with confusion then well hidden shock.
"Bella," she said hardly, "look at me."
Izzy didn't move.
"Bella," I said a bit softer.
"What," she responded her voice hoarse, weak, and thick with tears.
"What happened," Natasha commanded.
Bella sniffled and slowly sat up and turned to face us. Her face was down, staring at her hands, which were folded into her lap.
"A whole lot of stuff happened," she responded stiffly.
"You know what we mean," Natasha said hardly.
Bella didn't respond for about a minute. We gave her time.
She swallowed, "Hannigan touched me."
"Did he-"
"No."
I nodded and pulled her into a hug, "It'll get better kid. Right now though you should get some rest."
Bella nodded numbly and laid down. I pulled her blankets back over her, My mind was still processing the information she had just shared.
Bella shifted before becoming quiet.
