Author's Note: YAYS! I CAN UPDATE! Thanks for understanding why I was not updating- I am going to try to get back on track with updating. I will focus back on our favorite Jack and Elizabeth some more next chapter! ;)
Anyways- I found my own 'Jack' in life- just his name is Zachary, and he isn't a Mountie. But he's been there for me through what's been going on for me, so I'm blessed. Plus to know your prayers were with me, thank you. I hope things will be good for a while, if anything gets in my way from posting or writing, I hope it will only be school...

So thank you to everyone reviewing and being kind to me. Thank you also to "Angel Streets" for mentioning me in her story, I appreciate it greatly! :) Thank you! :)

Have a good day, Hearties and hopefully see you Thursday when I update :), unless we PM each other before then or something! :)

"Well…we need to talk…" Jack looked at his hands.

"About…?" Jaclyn asked.

"This is something your Dad would have talked to you about, maybe even your mother, but I feel I should address this." Jack paused, and then continued. "I wasn't hoping to have this talk for a while with my kids, but since you adopted me as your Dad, I am going to help you."

"Dad, if you can't do it I understand, this has to be hard for you…" Jaclyn looked at him.

"I can do it, I'm honored it's you anyways. Do you know what you are getting yourself into?" Jack asked.

"Getting myself into with…what?"

"Well, you're courting, and I completely understand, but you do realize it may lead to…marriage, or it may not work out. Now I am not saying your relationship won't work out but what if it leads to marriage, would you be ready?"

"Well, I know how to sew and my studies are almost complete, and I can clearly take care of kids…" Jaclyn looked at him.

"Now, what if he were to ask you in a few months the question? Would you accept? Feel you were ready?"

"In that situation, I would say yes, but I don't believe Bradley would ask me to marry him yet, Uncle Jack. We both know to wait, I believe." Jaclyn smiled.

"Do you both feel the same about each other?"

"Well, yes, we both love each other…not like a marriage love, but as a courting love…"

"Do you feel it'd work out?"

"A marriage? Yes, it would, not as romantic as yours…" Jaclyn giggled and made a few kissing noises.

"Alright I get it!" Jack put his arm around her. "It isn't too romantic though." Jack looked at her.

"Alright, whatever you say…" Jaclyn winked.

"But listen, if this does lead to marriage for you eventually…you are going to immediately tell me if he hurts you or treats you wrong, alright?"

"Deal." Jaclyn smiled.

"Jack? I could use some help getting ready." Elizabeth said wiggling her finger for Jack to follow her.

"Coming…" Jack happily got up.

"You two are romantic…" Jaclyn giggled.

Jack just gave her a look saying , 'Alright I believe you but I'm not admitting that out loud', and followed Elizabeth. Jaclyn just shook her head, and went to check on the twins.

Later that evening, Jack led Elizabeth into the Café, where the place was set aglow with candles, and an area for dancing.

"Ah good evening. How are you two?" Abigail rushed over.

"Good thank you." Elizabeth smiled. Jack pulled out her chair, and she sat down. Jack sat down across from her, and turned to his right, where he saw Angelica and Jon smiling and laughing quietly. He looked to his left, and saw Lisa and Matthew, enjoying themselves. Jack noticed several more couples, and smiled.

Abigail walked around, serving tea where needed, and checking on everyone making sure they were enjoying their meals. Everyone enjoyed Abigail's cooking, so it wasn't a problem.

After the dinner plates were cleared, and chocolate cake was served, someone requested that music should be turned on. The music played softly, and the couples paired up with each other and slowly started swaying to the music, or slowly spinning around. Jack looked at his Elizabeth, her curls flowing around her, and the way her light purple dress looked on her. Jack was in love with her.

Jon noticed Angelica grew quiet as they danced, and she was slightly blushing. Lisa was smiling at Matthew, as he twirled her around. The room was filled with smiles.

"Jack…" Elizabeth whispered.

"What?"He whispered back.

"They're both lovely couples, look at the looks they give each other." Elizabeth used her eyes to point to Matthew and Lisa, and Jon and Angelica.

"I agree." Jack whispered, as he kissed Elizabeth's cheek.

The song slowly came to a stop, and the women curtsied to the men, who then bowed. Jack felt a tap on his shoulder.

"May I dance with her?" Jon asked.

"Certainly." Jack nodded and let Jon ask Elizabeth to dance. He saw the opportunity to dance with Angelica, so he walked over to her.

"May I have this dance?" Jack offered his hand.

"Me?" Angelica asked, feeling shy once again.

"Yes, please, it would be an honor."

Angelica gave a small nod of her head, and took a hold of his hand.

"Are you enjoying Coal Valley?"

"Oh yes, it's a wonderful town. I am enjoying it." Angelica smiled.

"Every part of it?" Jack asked, meaning Jon.

Angelica just shyly nodded in return, and Jack continued. "I like it when you smile."

She gave another shy smile. Jack and Jon both knew how to make her smile, not many people could do it. "Thank you, you're a wonderful dancer."

"Ha I try, I never liked dancing until I met Elizabeth." Jack recalled.

"Well you dance beautifully." Angelica smiled.

"Thank you." Jack replied as the song came to a stop.

"Thank you for the dance." Angelica curtsied.

"My pleasure." Jack smiled and bowed.

"Ready for another dance?" Jon asked offering his hand for Angelica.

"Certainly." Angelica took his hand.

Jack asked Elizabeth to dance, and she happily accepted.

Jaclyn left for some college time on Thursday, and made sure she left after several kisses from Bradley and hugs from family. On Friday the next day, Angelica was looking in the school closet for a box. The closet was built large enough for two to three people to be able to stand inside and have enough room to reach for something.

"Need some help?" Jon asked.

"Yes, please. We can leave after we get this box, but it is on the top shelf."

"I'll get it." Jon smiled and walked in. He reached up, and got the box. The wind blew through the open school door, and shut the closet door, making it quite dark inside.

"The door doesn't usually shut." Angelica frowned.

"That was a big gust of wind." Jon said. "Come on, let's open the door." Jon said as he tried opening the door.

"Uuuhm Jon is there something wrong?" Angelica asked, watching him try to open the door.

"Does this lock from the outside?" Jon asked.

"Yes, there is a flip lock sort of a contraption that opens the door. Why?"

"Oh, no reason. Nice closet." Jon said.

"Uh, Jon, are we locked in?" Angelica raised an eyebrow.

"How do you feel about closed in areas?"

"We are aren't we…?"

"Yes…" Jon sighed.

Angelica gave a sigh and sat down. "We're going to be here for a while."

"Well, lets hope someone comes by soon…" Jon replied as his eyes adjusted to the dark, and he tried to sit down.

"Can the lock flap be moved up do you think from inside of here?"

"No…the crack under the door is too small, plus, it is hard to estimate how long something would have to be to put under the door, then bend at the right angle, to be able to push the flip lock up. We don't have much of a chance of figuring that out, and we can't see anything." Angelica looked at him.

"Never thought of it that way, so you've been locked in a closet before?" Jon asked.

"No, just figuring out how to do it by using my mind. We have to wait for someone to come and hopefully come to close the school door, then we can try to catch their attention…" Angelica rested her chin on the back of her hand.

John sighed, and sat there, not knowing what to expect. The broom fell down, and startled the both of them, causing Angelica to put her arms around Jon because she was scared.

"It's alright, it's just the broom falling over." Jon put his arms around her to comfort her.

"I didn't know being stuck in a closet was so scary." Angelica admitted, secretly hoping there were no spiders.

"It would be worse if you were alone, wouldn't it?" Jon asked, focusing his eyes on hers.

"Yes it would be." Angelica smiled back to him.

"You would be alone where anything could happen. Anything could scare you. Whose arms would you hide in and try to get comfort? Hmm?"

"Stop trying to scare me….." Angelica giggled.

"And the broom will go boom…"Jon stressed the word boom, causing Angelica to come closer.

"And mice could scurry if there were any, and then you'd be even more scared…" Jon moved his hand on her arm like it was a mouse.

"Eeep don't do that!" She laughed.

"So, what can I do?" He asked.

"I don't know…" Angelica blushed.

He put his hand under her chin, and lifted it up. He pulled her closer, and their lips had only been together for a couple of seconds, when the closet door opened.

"Ms. Carpenter?" Emily asked as she giggled. Jon and Angelica quickly parted and looked at Emily.

"What are you doing here, sweetheart?" Angelica asked as Jon stood up and helped Angelica up.

"I went home, and then remembered I left my spelling book here, and I can't practice without it. Ma sent me back to come get it. I heard voices in the closet, and decided to open it…"Emily started giggling again.

"Well, uhm, thank you." Jon smiled.

"Yes, uh, thank you." Angelica smiled. "We accidently got locked in. Mr. Burnett here was helping me get a box and we got locked in."

"Oh, well glad I could help. See you Monday, if not before then." Emily giggled as she left.

Angelica and Jon just shared a look, they weren't expecting that one bit.

"Uhm…" Jon cleared his throat.

"Yeah, uhm, lets just go back to town." Angelica said putting the box on the lower shelf in the corner. "Thank you for helping."

"My pleasure" He replied.

On the way back to town, they walked in silence, unsure of what to say.
