A Runaway

I don't own Digimon or Avatar: Last Airbender

Chapter Forty Five: A Runaway

Toph, Daisuke and Katara were facing each other with Katara bending two whips of water around her arms while Daisuke and Toph took their stances, Aang stood in the middle of them as he tied his headband around his eyes. "Okay, I'm ready for some training," He told the three girls as he took two steps forward in a stance similar to Toph's and on the second step he picked up the vibrations in the ground with seismic sense, he then dodged three earth pillars that appeared out of the ground, he then heard water heading towards him and he redirected it back towards Katara. He then felt heat on his back and he Earthbent a wall to block the fire attack from Daisuke, he then sent a boulder towards Toph who caught it in her hand.

"Good job, Twinkle Toes. Visualize, then attack," She told Aang sending the boulder back and Aang dug a hole in the ground with Earthbending and the boulder hit Katara in the chest sending her to the ground and covered her in dust.

"Maybe you should take your own advice Toph," Katara told her.

"What can't handle a little dirt, Madame Fussy-Britches?" Toph asked and Katara's eyebrow twitched before she sent water at Toph who ducked and Daisuke was splashed instead and Katara's eyes widened as Daisuke spat out some water and glared at her.

"Be careful Katara," She warned her. "Cause when you play with fire, you get burned," She then threw a fireball at Katara who bent a wave of water and the fireball was snuffed out as the water headed towards Daisuke who rolled out of the way and Toph was drenched this time and she frowned.

"Oh sorry, did I splash you mud-slug?" Katara asked before she created an ice ramp and Toph and Daisuke did the same creating an earth ramp and a fire wave and the three girls headed towards each other and crashed into each other and went flying.

"Are we taking a break?" Aang asked. Sokka then came running up behind him screaming.

"Sneak attack!" Aang then casually brought up a wall of earth in front of Sokka without looking.

"Sokka, sneak attacks don't work if you yell it out loud," Aang told him turning around and removing his headband and lowering the wall of earth and Sokka fell down, Zuko then charged at Aang's back but Aang stomped and he tripped Zuko and he skidded across the ground. "See Zuko knows that," Aang said to Sokka as he helped Zuko up just as mud splattered them and they turned to see the three girls having a mud fight.

"Hungry for a mud pie?" Toph asked kicking mud into Katara's face.

"I'll give you a mud pie!" Katara shouted wiping the mud from her face and she sent a steam of mud at Toph, Daisuke then laughed but she stopped when her face was covered in mud and she wiped it off her face and she snarled at Katara and Toph.

"Okay you asked for it!" She shouted scooping up some mud in her hands and she threw it at Toph and Katara covering them in more mud.

"Uh guys, aren't you supposed to be training me?" Aang asked them and the three girls looked at him.

"Very well pupil. I think we've had enough training for today," Katara said calmly before she walked off to clean up.

"While she's doing that, let's have some fun," Toph said Earthbending the mud off her body.

"Yeah," Aang and Sokka said in agreement.

"You two coming?" Toph asked Daisuke and Zuko who looked at each other and shrugged as they walked off with Toph, Aang and Sokka. Soon they were in the nearby down and they walked past numerous messenger hawks.

"Look at all those messenger hawks! You know, I've been thinking about getting one for myself. That way, I wouldn't have to talk to anyone. I could just send them messages," Sokka said.

"I like the idea of not talking to you," Toph said and Sokka glared at her.

"So what do we do with our last piece of silver?" Daisuke asked flipping the coin into the air.

"We can get more money," Toph said as she stopped walking. "Right down there," She said pointing to a small crowd below them.

"A shell game?" Zuko asked her as they walked down to the game. "Are you sure about this?" He asked again.

"Yup, this is where you seeing people are at a disadvantage. Everyone guesses wrong because the dealer moves the rock at the last minute. But I can feel it with my Earthbending," She explained as the man who was moving the shells around before he quickly and inconspicuously Earthbent a pebble into his sleeve and placed the shells back where they were originally and the man who was playing the game pointed to the middle shell and it was lifted up to reveal nothing and the man ran away crying as several members of the crowd moved to reveal Toph and the scam artist smirked as he saw that she was blind.

"Hey there how about a friendly game?" He asked Toph.

"How can I possibly play? I'm blind," She said waving her hand in front of her face.

"You don't have to see to be lucky," The scammer told her as Toph sat down in front of the table and she felt around pretending to be helpless, she then placed the silver piece onto the table. The scammer started to move the shells around and he tossed a pebble each into two of the empty shells and Toph smiled slyly, the scammer then stopped moving the shells and Toph pointed to one shell and the scammer lifted it up to reveal a pebble and she got two more silver pieces.

"Flamey-O, Toph," Aang said congratulating her.

"Wow. Fancy guessing. You are amazing at this. Would you like to make the game a little more interesting?" The scammer asked her.

"How interesting?" Toph asked as the scammer looked at the others and he saw the swords Daisuke, Zuko and Sokka had.

"Well, let's say you toss in your friend's fine sword there," The scammer said as he picked up bag on money. "Then I'll put up twenty silver pieces against it, and that's more interesting," He told her as Toph grabbed Sokka's sword and held it out.

"I'll do it for forty silver pieces," She said as Sokka's jaw dropped.

"Forty pieces it is," The scammer said as he put more money into the bag before he started to move the shells around faster this time, and this time he moved to pebbles into his sleeves and Toph smiled slyly again as he tried to do the same to the third work but Toph clenched her fist inconspicuously and the pebble fell back into the shell. The shells stopped moving and Toph pointed to the middle shell. "Sorry little lady-," The scammer said lifting the shell and his eyes widened in shock. "Huh?" He looked closely at the pebble.

"I won!" Toph cheered as she grabbed the bag of money and Sokka grabbed his sword and the five friends ran off quickly. They then made their way back to their campsite Aang, Zuko and Sokka were carrying baskets of goods before they dropped them in front of Katara who was busy cooking something in a pot, she then looked at the baskets in curiosity.

"Where did you get the money to buy this?" She asked them.

"Toph got us money," Aang told her as he took a bite out of an apple. "She scammed one of those guys in town who moves the shells around all sneaky-like," He further explained.

"She uses Earthbending to win the game. Classic!" Sokka said happily.

"Ah, so she cheated," Katara said.

"It's only cheating when you're caught ya know," Daisuke said eating an apple as well.

"Yeah, I only cheated because he was cheating! I cheated a cheater," Toph said. "What is wrong with that?" She asked Katara.

"I'm just saying this isn't something we should make a habit of doing," She replied.

"Right, cause you hate having fun," Toph said.

"I don't hate fun," Katara denied grabbing Momo and putting him on her head. "See? Fun," She said smiling unconvincedly as Momo jumped off her head and screeched at her before he ran away.

"Katara, I'll personally make you an Avatar Promise that we won't make a habit of doing these scams," Aang said standing up and he bowed to Katara. Later on Aang, Sokka and Toph were back in the town and they came upon a few citizens playing a dice like game. The two winners then saw Toph holding a large bag of money, they then called her over and she tossed the two die and one landed on three while the other was about to roll onto zero but Toph twitched her head slightly and the die landed back on three much to the disappointment of the two winners and Sokka and Aang's joy.

Soon the three of them were at a carnival and a big man was having a try at the test your strength game, but he only made it halfway up and he frowned as Toph jiggled a bag of money and she walked over and took the hammer and she struggled to move it behind her and the crowd snickered and laughed at her. Toph smiled and she used her Earthbending to launch the hammer with great force and the ball was launched with such force that it launched the bell into the air and destroyed the top of the game. Everyone was in shock as Toph casually grabbed her winnings and she left followed by Aang and Sokka.

Later on a carriage that was being pulled by a dragon moose and Toph came out of a dark alley and she stomped creating a small rock right in front of one of the wheels and she fell back onto the ground pretending to be hit. The noble inside peeked out and he went to run only for Sokka who was dressed up with a large beard and holding his sword out and crossed his arms at the noble. The noble got on his knees and begged Sokka and he placed a bag of money in Sokka's arms before following up with eleven more and Sokka smiled and he winked signifying he would keep the secret. Soon as the sun was starting to set Toph, Aang and Sokka were going over the money they had gained.

"Okay you three these scams are getting out of hand," Daisuke told them.

"She's right you three, it was fun the first time but now it is getting out of hand," Zuko added.

"Something bad is going to happen to us if you three keep this up," Katara said.

"Can you stop being a sourpuss and lighten up?" Toph asked throwing a bag of money at Katara.

"Oh, I'm sorry! You think I should be more like you? Like some wild child?" Katara snapped angrily at Toph tossing the money back at her.

"Yeah! Maybe! Maybe then you'd see how great we have it! I mean, look at us! We're traveling around the world! Making easy money! Having fun! With no parents to tell us what to do!" Toph said.

"You're acting like this because of your parents?" Daisuke asked her.

"No I'm not," Toph replied.

"They were controlling over you, so you ran away, and now you act like your parents don't exist. You act like you hate them, but you don't. You just feel guilty," Katara said to Toph.

"Look, I ran away to help Aang!" Toph said angrily standing up and glaring at Katara.

"You know what? It doesn't matter. These scams put us all at risk, and we don't need that. We've already got some third-eyed freak after us," Katara said pointing to her forehead.

"Speaking of that "third-eyed freak", I think I've come up with a name for him. What do you think of "Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man"?" Sokka asked the gaang and he was met with silence. "Just think about it," He told them.

"We have enough money! You need to stop this!" Katara shouted angrily at Toph.

"I'll stop when I want to stop and not when you tell me!" Toph shouted at Katara as she created an earth tent and Katara growled.

"Speaking of money, I'm off to spend some. See you guys later," Sokka said as he walked off.

"Yeah I'm off too," Daisuke said.

"Where do you think you're going!?" Katara asked her.

"To buy some meat for Flame, he hasn't eaten for a few days," Daisuke answered as she walked off and Zuko ran after her. Soon the two Firebenders were heading back from the town with two sacks filled with meat for Flame over their shoulders.

"This stuff stinks," Zuko complained.

"Quit whining Zuko, it's for my baby, and he's a growing boy," Daisuke said and Zuko rolled his eyes.

"He better be thankful for this, we're going to stink like crazy for days," He grumbled and Daisuke sighed when they both heard something nearby.

"What was that?" Daisuke asked.

"I don't know, but its close by," Zuko answered her.

"Who is there!?" Daisuke shouted and five rhinos jumped out of the bushes and surrounded the two of them.

"Colonel Mongke?" Zuko asked as he dropped his sack of meat.

"The Rough Rhinos! What're you losers doing here?" Daisuke asked.

"We're here to apprehend traitors to their nation," Mongke told them.

"For crying out loud, we've beaten you guys how many times already?" Daisuke asked them putting her hands on her hips.

"Take my advice, leave now," Zuko told the Rough Rhinos.

"Or what?" Mongke asked and Daisuke smirked and Zuko smirked as well.

"Or my girlfriend kicks your butts," He told him.

"I think we'll take our chances," Mongke said.

"Your funeral," Daisuke told him as she started to spin around and Zuko hit the ground just as Daisuke performed her dragon flame wing slash on the Rough Rhinos catching four of them off guard and they were hit by the attack and sent flying off their rhinos.

"You missed me," Mongke said as he launched a fireball at Daisuke but Zuko jumped in the way and blocked it from harming his girlfriend, Zuko then smirked. "What're you smirking about?" He asked before he felt hot breath on the back of his neck and he turned around slowly to see Flame snarling at him.

"That," Zuko said as Flame bellowed loudly and Mongke's rhino ran off in fright as did the other rhinos and Mongke fell off his rhino.

"Now then Flame get rid of this guy please," Daisuke said and her dragon nodded and he swung his tail and sent Mongke flying through the air. "Nice work boy," She praised her dragon who nuzzled his mother.

"Can we hurry up and get back, before this meat gets any more rank," Zuko said picking up one of the sacks of meat and Daisuke nodded as she picked up the other bag of meat and the two Firebenders and dragon headed back to the others. Meanwhile Sokka was walking out of a building with a messenger hawk on his arm.

"Hawky, welcome to Team Avatar. My name's Sokka, and I'm your new owner, and as such I should warn you that there's already a lemur, a bison and a dragon in our group, so I don't want to see any fighting," Sokka said as he scratched Hawky on the stomach. "Good little messenger Hawky. Who's got pretty feathers?" He then walked off with Hawky past several posters and he then gasped as he pulled off a poster that was of Toph, Hawky then squawked "You're right, Hawky. This is bad," Sokka said to the hawk who then pooed on Sokka's arm. "That's worse," He grumbled walking off towards the camp and he saw Daisuke feeding some meet to Flame who was eating it happily.

"Who is the bird Sokka?" Zuko asked him.

"This is Hawky, my new messenger hawk," He answered and Hawky cawed.

"O…kay," Zuko said before he walked off mumbling something along the lines of crazy guy. Sokka then walked over to Toph who was counting the money again.

"Toph I was just in town and I found this," He said showing the poster to Toph.

"It sounds like a piece of paper, but I guess it's what is on the paper that shocks you," She said.

"It's a wanted poster. Of you. They've nicknamed you the Runaway," Sokka told her.

"A wanted poster! That's so great! "The Runaway." I love my new nickname. Is there a picture of me? Does it look good?" She asked happily as Sokka looked at it.

"Yeah actually, but that's not the point, Katara was right. As much as I hate to admit my sister is right," Sokka told her.

"Don't be such a worrywart like your sister. Think of it this way: Now you've got plenty of money to help with the invasion plan," Toph told him handing him a bag of money.

"Well, that is true. I had this idea of making armour for Appa and Flame," Sokka said looking at the sack of money and Flame and Appa both looked at him.

"Here's a little extra, so you can get yourself a nice map of the Fire Nation. You know what? Make it an atlas," Toph told Sokka handing a large bag of money to Sokka.

"I do like expensive atlases," Sokka said taking the money.

"Of course you do. And that's why this wanted poster is going to stay our little secret," Toph said snatching the wanted poster and she walked off as Katara and Aang walked up to Sokka.

"Please tell me you didn't buy that bird Sokka," Katara said.

"It's not just a bird, it's a messenger bird. Now we can send messages all over the world. Even to Gran-Gran," Sokka said as he looked at Hawky.

"How does that work?" Aang asked him.

"I don't know really. But it can't be hard, Hawky, South Pole," He said and the hawk shivered. "I think he gets it," He then said as Momo appeared and started to chase Hawky around Sokka's face. "Hawky! Make nice Hawky!" Sokka shouted at his bird. Later on Toph and Daisuke were walking through the town again when they saw several people kicking a ball varying distances and the one who kicked it the farthest cheered while the others groan in disappointment.

"What's going on here?" Daisuke asked them.

"Just a little game, want to try your hand at it?" The winner asked Daisuke who looked at Toph before she nodded.

"Okay, what're the rules?" She asked.

"Just kick the ball as far as you can," was the answer.

"What does she get if she wins?" Toph asked them.

"Well the prize I won was one hundred gold pieces, but if you can kick further than me I'll give them to you," The winner said.

"Why not," Daisuke said smiling before she leaned in to Toph. "When I go to kick it, Earthbend discreetly, got it?" She whispered.

"Got it," Toph answered her and Daisuke walked over to the ball and she stretched slightly before she went to kick it and Toph Earthbent discreetly and the ball went flying as Daisuke followed through with the kick and the ball sailed out of sight making everyone's jaws drop in shock. Daisuke held her hand out and the former winner dropped the money into her hand and both she and Toph ran off before anyone could stop them. Soon both of them were heading back to the camp with large bags of money in their arms.

"Well. Look who decided to join us. Where have you two been? Off scamming again?" Katara asked as she stood up.

"Yes, we were," Toph answered dropping the bag of money.

"Hey it was my first time, and it will be my last one," Daisuke said as she sat down beside Zuko, Aang and Sokka who had Hawky on his shoulder.

"And I suppose you don't think what you're doing is dangerous at all?" Katara asked Toph angrily.

"No I don't," Toph said.

"Really?"

"Really,"

"Then what is this?" Katara asked pulling out Toph's wanted poster.

"I don't know! I mean, seriously! What is with you people? I'm blind!" Toph shouted annoyed at Katara.

"It's a wanted poster of you! "The Runaway!" Is that what you're called now? Are you proud of this?" Katara asked.

"Where did you get that!?" Toph asked angrily.

"It doesn't matter where I got it. The fact is-," Katara said.

"You went through my stuff didn't you!? You had no right to do that!" Toph shouted at her.

"Your stuff was messy and I was just straightening up, and I happened to stumble across it!" Katara told her.

"You're lying!" Toph shouted at her.

"Fine! It's a lie! But you've been so out of control lately, I knew something was up! I knew you were hiding something and you were!" Katara shouted as Toph grabbed the poster and threw it away before she stormed off. "Don't you walk away from me while I'm talking to you!"

"Oh really mom? What're you gonna do, send me to my room?" Toph asked her.

"I wish I could!" Katara answered.

"Well you can't! Because you are not my mother, and you are not their mom either!" Toph shouted pointing at Aang, Zuko, Sokka and Daisuke.

"I never said I was!" Katara shouted.

"No, but you certainly act like it! You think it's your job to boss everyone around, but it's not! You're just a regular kid like the rest of us! So stop acting like you can tell me what to do! I can do whatever I want!" Toph told her.

"I don't act that way!" Katara shouted as she turned to Daisuke. "Tell her Daisuke,"

"Why?" She asked back.

"Because she seems to only listen to you, so tell her she's wrong in doing what she is doing!" Katara told her.

"You want me to tell Toph she is the wrong?" Daisuke asked before she stood up and walked towards both girls. "Okay then," She said and Toph's jaw dropped while Katara held a victorious grin on her face before Daisuke turned to her. "Katara you are so uptight and you act way too motherly. You need to learn how to take chill out and not start stuff with Toph every five minutes," She told Katara whose jaw dropped in shock before Daisuke then turned to look at Toph. "Toph you're like my sister and I love you but there such a thing as taking a joke too far. You have such a great talent for Earthbending but you need to learn to be a little more careful or things will come back to bite you later. I'm not telling you what to do but just try and learn to be a little more responsible and think thing through, okay?" She asked and Toph turned away from her big sister figure.

"Well someone here has to the responsible one, and it's obviously not her or you," Katara said and Daisuke looked at her.

"Excuse me!? In case you forgotten before Zuko joined us I was the oldest of the group, and I raised Flame from an egg while I also took care of everyone as well. But you on the other hand can't go five minutes without starting a fight with Toph," Daisuke told Katara.

"You're all so infuriating right now!" Katara shouted as she stormed off and Toph walked off another way, Daisuke shook her head before she also walked off.

"Well…that went better than I thought," Zuko said.

"Yeah, I thought those three would fight again," Aang said.

"Hey guys want to try out Hawky?" Sokka asked.

"Sure," Aang said.

"What if we send a message to Katara from Toph apologising to her?" Sokka suggested.

"That's not gonna work," Zuko said.

"Oh ye of little faith," Sokka said to Zuko as he took out a pen and piece of paper and he wrote a small message and put it in the cylinder on Hawky who then flew off and landed by Katara who took out the letter and read it and stood up angrily.

"I know this is from you, Sokka! Toph can't write! Ugh! You're all driving me crazy!" Katara shouted tearing the note up as she walked away.

"I can't believe we forgot Toph can't write," Aang said.

"I told you it wouldn't work, but did you listen? No," Zuko said earning glares from Sokka and Aang.

"I guess I will have to settle this the old fashioned way," Sokka said as he stood up and walked over to Toph. "Hey Toph, we need to talk," He told her and both of them walked off and sat on a ledge over water and down below was Katara.

"So lemme guess: You brought me out here to tell me that your sister's not as annoying as I make her out to be," Toph said to him.

"Nah, she's pretty much a pain. She's always got to be right about everything and she gets all bossy and involved and in your business," He told her.

"Yeah, I don't know how you can deal with her," Toph said as Katara frowned.

"No, in a way I rely on it," Sokka told her.

"What do you mean?" Toph asked her.

"When our mom died, that was the hardest time in my life. Our family was a mess, but Katara? She had so much strength. She stepped up and took on so much responsibility. She helped fill the void that was left by our mom," Sokka said and Katara smiled touched by her brother's words.

"I never thought of that," Toph said.

"I'm gonna tell you something crazy. I never told anyone this before, but honestly? I'm not sure I can remember what my mother looked like. It really seems like my whole life, Katara's been the one looking out for me. She's always been the one that's there. And now, when I try to remember my mom, Katara's is the only face I can picture," Sokka told her.

"The truth is sometimes Katara does act motherly, but that's not always a bad thing. She's compassionate and kind, and she actually cares about me. You know, the real me. That's more than my own mom, and Daisuke is the same way, she treats me like the little sister she never had and I like that," Toph said wiping a tear from her eye before she punched Sokka. "Don't ever tell her I said any of this!" She told him.

"My lips are sealed," Sokka told her unknown to them Daisuke was behind a boulder listening in and she smiled.

"Who knew that Sokka the bonehead would have a soft side," She said walking off. Soon both Toph and Katara were walking towards one another when they stopped in front of each other.

"Hi, Toph…umm I want to-," Katara said.

"You don't have to apologise Katara, you were right these scams are out of control and I'm done with them," Toph said.

"Actually I wasn't going to apologize. I was gonna say ... I want to pull a scam with you" She said and Sokka, Aang, Daisuke and Zuko's jaws dropped before they fell over in shock.

"What!? You want to pull a scam?" Toph asked her.

"Not just any scam, the ultimate scam, Whaddaya say, Toph? Just me and you. One last go. You in?" Katara asked her.

"I'm in, so what's the plan?" Toph asked interested.

"The plan is simple: This wanted poster says you're worth a lot of money; Ten times more than you've made in all of your scams. So I'm gonna turn you in and collect the reward. Then you Metalbent yourself out of jail, and we're on our way," Katara told her and soon Toph was running through the town before she was caught in a net.

"How can you betray me!?" Toph asked Katara angrily.

"You brought this on yourself. I had no choice," Katara told Toph as she was dragged away.

"You did the right thing turning in the Runaway," A guard told her.

"Doing the right way is its own reward. But I still want the reward," Katara told the guard.

"Of course, right this way," The guard told Katara. Meanwhile with Toph she was thrown into a cell made of wood.

"Hey what kind of cell is this?" Toph asked feeling around the floor of the cell.

"A wooden cell," The guard told Toph. Meanwhile with Katara she was in an office as the guard took out a box and opened it just as the door opened behind her.

"That's her! That's the one you want," The guard said and Katara turned to see Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man standing there.

"Should this scam be taking this long?" Aang asked.

"I don't know, we should check it out," Sokka said.

"Okay then, I have a bad feeling about this," Daisuke said concerned.

"Okay you two no fighting, Flame is in charge," Sokka told Hawky and Momo as the rest of the gaang walked off and Momo and Hawky started to fight until Flame bellowed making them stop.

"It's a trap!" Toph shouted to Katara both of them now in the wooden cell.

"Really? No kidding! Is that why we're sitting in a wooden cage right now? Gee, how'd you figure out it was a trap?" Katara asked sarcastically.

"Not for us Katara! We're the bait, he is after Daisuke and Zuko," Toph told her.

"Oh no! I can't believe it, I'm so stupid! See? This is exactly why I'm against these scams! I knew this would happen!" Katara shouted at Toph.

"But, this was your idea," Toph told her.

"I know. I wanted to show that I'm not so motherly. I wanted to show you that I can have fun too," Katara said.

"Katara, you are fun. If nothing else, you're at least fun to argue with," Toph told her.

"I know your relationship with your parents is complicated. And I shouldn't have said what I said," Katara said.

"It's okay. I was really mad when you said that because ... well because, maybe it's true. I try not to think about it, but when I left, I probably really hurt them," Toph said as she started to cry.

"Where do you think they might be?" Sokka asked.

"Where do you think anyone is?" Daisuke asked the others before she heard someone inhale and she turned to see Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man on a rooftop. "Guys, watch out!" She pushed everyone behind a giant metal statue of Ozai avoiding a blast from the assassin. "It is Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man!" She shouted.

"I don't think that name fits him," Sokka said as they all ducked as the assassin sent another blast at the four of them.

"How're we gonna get out of here?" Katara asked Toph.

"I don't know, we need stuff to bend," She answered.

"You're meteor bracelet, you could make a saw," Katara said hopefully to Toph.

"I left it at camp, I was afraid they would take it," Toph said sadly and Katara groaned wiping sweat from her forehead before she looked at her hand, her eyes then widened in realisation before she started to run in place. "Are you okay?" Toph asked her.

"Just fine," Katara answered her.

"Then what are you doing?" Toph asked confused.

"I'm making my own water!" Katara exclaimed as she started to waterbend her sweat into blades and started to cut at the wooden bars.

"Katara! You're a genius! A sweaty, stinky genius!" Toph said amazed as Katara Waterbent the water from her armpits this time.

"This guy is too good! He shoots fire from his mind!" Sokka shouted to Daisuke, Zuko and Aang.

"Split up!" Daisuke shouted at them as she ran off one way and the other three ran the other way. The assassin fired a blast at the ground behind Daisuke and she was sent flying into the Ozai statue and fell down to the ground as the assassin towered over her until ice encased his head.

"Daisuke run!" Katara shouted at her friend and the Firebender ran off as the assassin broke the ice with brute force and sent a blast at the gaang but Toph sent a boulder to intercept the blast and the rock exploded sending a pebble into the assassin's third eye stunning him momentarily and angered him, he then tried to attack again but his chi was blocked and the air around him ignited and exploded sending him flying backwards into a wall head first, but he shook it off and he turned around to see the gaang was gone.

"I got the perfect name for him, Combustion Man!" Sokka shouted.

"Good work Sokka, now let's get out of here before Combustion Man catches us!" Toph shouted as the gaang ran out of the town. Later that night Flame and Appa landed at a new campsite and Toph walked over to Katara.

"Yes Toph?" She asked.

"I need you to write some things down for me. I wanna send a letter to my parents," Toph said holding out a piece of paper.

"I'd be happy to help you," Katara replied happily as she started to write the letter before she then put the message in the cylinder on Hawky's back, he then flew away into the night.

"Hey, where'd Hawky go?" Sokka asked.
