Chapter 52

"What was that?" was the first question out of Blinx's mouth.
The spectral creature didn't give a reply and instead, disappeared, at speed, through Storks closed door.

She jumped to her feet and followed after it, not worrying that she'd accidentally awoken the sleeping Merb or the awkward conversation that they would have to endure later due to his big mouth.
She was so exclusively focused on running down the hall and having her questions answered that she didn't see or hear Piper when she emerged from her own room behind her for her daily deck run.

Blinx chased it off the ship, not having noticed she'd picked up Radarr on the way, and saw it disappear behind a wall. None too bothered by this fact she ran straight at it and found out too late that she wouldn't be able to follow when she ran face first into it.
She held her now bloody nose, gazing up at the wall, having been basically punched out of her self-induced hypnotic state.

"What the-"

Radarr chirped disapprovingly at her feet.

"Oh, hey Radarr, didn't see you down there" she spoke through her hand.

"Obviously" Radarr told himself with an eye roll.
He'd only just managed to 'abandon ship' when he saw she was headed for the wall with no breaks.
He chirped again and directed to the Condor. He was disappointed further when she shook her head.

"That thing came to me. It said we had things to discuss. I have to find it" she told him plainly.

The small fury creature whined in annoyance as he rolled his eyes again. He then trotted over to the statue she'd thankfully managed to miss by centimetres and climbed onto it, standing on the arm he knew would open the secret passage. As the door opened and statue spun around to point the way, he jumped off.

Blinx smirked in approval.
"Thanks Radarr. You should probably stay here, in case the others come looking for me"

Radarr sent her a look that clearly read "You think?" and watched as she ran off into the dark tunnels of the hidden mountain city. It didn't take long until she'd disappeared entirely.
He knew he would live to regret this decision, but, the thing with Blinx…she could take care of herself…more so than any of the others could.

Blinx stared around her in awe, this tunnel, thankfully, ended quickly. With the help of her flame ability, though it did flicker on and off, she was able to see part of the ruins of what had once been a magnificent city and, to her dismay, the same tingling sensation from her dream, had become a reality.
