Penny sighed for the umpteenth time. She hated being sit doing nothing. It was beyond her strength. She had never been so still in her whole life and now that she was forced to rest in such a way... It was a torture. True, she had left the hospital five days ago, but apparently she was already recovered enough to be bored with this tedious routine. At least they had already allowed her get up from the bed occasionally. She would have gone mad if she had been lying on the bed those five days. However, she had to admit that her ribs still hurt. But she preferred to endure the pain and pretend that everything was perfect in order to slip away a little from her caregivers.
The young waitress sighed again with a pout. She looked around. She smiled before the breakfast tray. She sat on her bed. Well, rather Sheldon's bed. Yes, since she had been discharged, the young physicist had strongly insisted that she should recover and replenish her forces in the 4A apartment, where everyone could be taking care of her more easily. The girl hugged herself, pleased. She had never felt so cared and so darling. On the one hand she did not like showing any kind of weakness, but on the other hand... It was great that they take care of her! All of them behaved wonderfully with her. Bernie and Ames were going to visit her always they could. Mary and Meemaw had been spent those days with her and they did nothing more than to indulge her. She smiled happily. Even her father, Wyatt, had come from Omaha two days before she was discharged and they were able to recover a little their almost nonexistent father-daughter relationship. The girl laughed fun remembering how his father had been received by a furious Mary Cooper, who rebuked him not come before, knowing her daughter was in the ICU. It was the first time she saw his father running out of words due to the unmistakable genius Cooper. And it was also the first time that someone, particularly a woman, faced her father to tell him a few truths. Penny sighed. Her mother had never done. She was resigned to live an empty marriage that existed only as a mere facade, as a rooted custom, worn by the passage of time. The girl plunged in her mind for a moment and shuddered at the thought of her parents. At least she had spoken to his father. She hadn't had a real conversation with him for years and, despite the accumulated resentment, seeing him again in the hospital room, anxious and worried, rekindled a flame of hope in Penny's heart. It is possible that, after all, things could be resolved slowly.
She rested a moment on the cushions, suppressing a wince, and looked around the bedroom, seeing the impeccable order. She smiled at the sight of the infinite comic collection, all of them perfectly aligned. None protruded more than another. She hugged the pillow, holding it against her chest and buried her face in it, inhaling the delicious and unmistakable Sheldon's scent. Sometimes she had the feeling of living a dream of which never wanted to wake up. She had even come to think that maybe she had died in hospital and she was now in heaven. There was no other explanation for all this. Sheldon never left her. He had even sought permission from doctor Gablehauser to do his job from home while Penny was convalescing. He cared for her tirelessly. He brought her breakfast in bed every morning. He played Halo and chess with her, sang Soft kitty to her at night until she slept in his arms and next morning, she always woke up surrounded by the delicious warmth of his chest. If this was not the heaven, Penny had no idea what it could be. And the most wonderful thing of all was that after singing Soft Kitty and saying goodnight, Sheldon whispered, almost inaudible: "I love you". Penny felt like dying every time he said it. And now he did every day, as if to catch up after so long.
She pressed harder the pillow against her heart and stood still for a moment. Then she snorted again. She could not go longer be quiet. Penny pulled the sheet and blanket and got up slowly, still unsure of her own feet. She leaned laboriously against the dresser and moved toward the door. She opened it and looked at both sides of the aisle. Everything was silent. She moved almost on tiptoe until she reached the living room. She bit her lip. Sheldon was sitting at his desk, working on his laptop with the utmost expression of concentration. The girl took a silent step. Maybe she could reach the couch, sit and read a newspaper or magazine without catching his attention...
- Where the hell are you going, Penny?
The girl winced. Damn vulcan ear! She turned slowly to face him. Sheldon had already risen from his place and stood beside her, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. Penny snorted.
- Just wanted to sit on the couch for a while. I'm sick of being in bed -. she saw that the young physicist was opening his mouth and stopped him, holding up a finger. - And do not dare you said that I have to rest on the bed.
Sheldon looked at her full of patience, serious and with disapproving on his face.
- You have to rest on the bed.
She narrowed her eyes.
- I told you don't dare you.
- I'm sorry, but you are not too threatening with two broken ribs -. a gleam of fun lighted the blue eyes.
Penny looked at him defiantly.
- Do not confide, Moonpie. I could still win in a fight with you. Especially if it takes place in bed - she said, winking a funny eye.
Sheldon swallowed without losing his worthy pose, fighting against those damn chills. Penny gave him an amused chuckle.
- Penny, the doctor said you should be in the most absolute repose for at least a week.
- But I get bored a lot ... - the pout on her face made him curse in a mumble-. I'm bored so much that I've read your comics -. she added with frightened face -. Worst of all is I liked them! Do you see? This is serious!
Sheldon was looking at her with a face in no way funny.
- Did you touch my comic books?
Penny suppressed a giggle. She loved that Sheldon told her he loved her, but she loved even more seeing that he would never change, however much he loved her.
- Yes, I did-. she crossed her arms, staring at him. - And it depends on you that smiley faces were on them next time. So, for the integrity of your comic books, I suggest you let me sit on the couch and distract myself.
The physicist gritted teeth.
- I have to work, Penny.
- Oh, don't worry. You even will not know I'm here. I just want to read the newspaper.
Sheldon sighed.
- Okay. But I do not want to hear a sound.
The girl nodded happily and threw a kiss to him, funny. Then she sat down and began to flip through the newspaper. Sheldon suppressed a sigh and returned to his task. With enough effort, he managed to continue writing, cursing himself and cursing the person who caused his brain was not fully operative on its work. They spent a few minutes in absolute silence and finally Sheldon could feel more comfortable. Penny pushed away the newspaper and stretched herself carefully, feeling more satisfied. Then her attention was inevitably attracted by the thin physicist, who was typing without pause. She stared. She loved to see that beautiful mind full of seething mental processes. It was a real spectacle. Moreover, she had always believed that Sheldon looked unbearably handsome when he was so concentrated, with his shiny blue eyes fixed on his calculations. She never tired of looking at him.
And suddenly, she felt trapped by that powerful force that always drew her toward him hopelessly. She rose slowly, approaching with extreme care not to alert his fine ear. Her caution worked. She stood behind him and suppressed a fun and mischievous giggle. Penny looked at the equations on the screen, above his shoulder.
- Mmmm, interesting ... - she whispered in his ear.
Sheldon almost screamed fright. But his shock disappeared as he felt her warm breath in his ear and her daring hands sliding down his shoulders. He stifled a gasp feeling her right hand fiddling inside the collar of his T- shirt. Sheldon turned to her.
- Penny ... I told you...
- Yeah, yeah, I know. You have to work, I have to rest, blah, blah, blah ... - the girl rolled her eyes, as she sat on his lap -. Guess what? I do not want to rest... precisely.
She winked, funny, and bit sensually her lower lip, sliding a finger across the Superman shirt. Sheldon felt that his barriers were falling before he could raise them again.
- Penny ... - gasped. - Please, you're still recovering from your ... wounds.
The girl smiled. She felt the powerful erection pressing into his lap. She loved making him to lose control. Being able to break the iron grip of none other than Sheldon Cooper was intoxicating. She could see those searing blue eyes, looking at her with an irrepressible desire.
It had been too long since they had made love and they felt they could not take it anymore. Sheldon swallowed like a dying to feel her hands caressing his chest over the fabric of his T-shirts. He grabbed her arms and gathered all his control to separate from her.
- We...we shouldn't, Penny...
- Why not? - she asked, as a little girl to who they denied her favorite toy.
- Because I repeat you... You are recovering and ... - Sheldon took a deep breath, trying to calm down. He stared at her. - If we yield to this, I'm going to stamp you against the door for making love with you and I don't think that it is very suitable for your ribs heal properly.
Penny shuddered at such words.
- We could be careful ... - she whispered, losing herself in those eyes as infinite as the ocean.
- I regret to inform you that I couldn't do it. -. the young physicist took another breath of fresh air -. I assure you that after several weeks of abstinence, my brain is producing enough hormonal artillery that I couldn't be careful in any way.
Penny felt the ground shake beneath her feet. She never imagined the unexpected and hidden wild side of Sheldon Cooper and now, seeing it, nothing could be more ... alluring. She bit her bottom lip until it almost started to bleed.
- Fuck the ribs - she said before pouncing on him and starting to devour his mouth.
Sheldon gasped against her lips and held her tightly, kissing her back with equal passion. She moaned at the overwhelming impetus.
Inmediately, Sheldon knew it had been a groan of pain. The young physicist broke the kiss and loosed the pressure on her, holding her with lots of softness, making an effort so hard to control himself that he started to tremble. Penny felt her heart melted before such sign of love. No man had given up his wishes for her welfare before. All of them had pressured to have sex even when she did not feel physically or mentally well for do it, All except Sheldon.
She hugged him back, stroking gently his head until his tremors began to diminish. They held each other a few minutes. Finally, they separated. Penny looked at him sad.
- I'm sorry ... Moonpie.
- It's me who has hurt you -. Sheldon looked somewhat confused -. I don't understand why you apologize. It's me who should.
Penny smiled with infinite love.
- Sweetie ... Men hate... - she saw that Sheldon was looking at her with a mixture of curiosity and misunderstanding. She shook her head. She knew that he wouldn't understand it even if she tried to explain a thousand times. Penny repeated herself yet again that he was not an ordinary man, and he never would be. She felt infinitely happy and grateful for this. She stroked his cheek. - It doesn't matter, forget it -. she added -. I love you, Moonpie.
Sheldon stared at her, lowering his head vulnerable.
- I love you too, Penny.
She smiled.
- I know it.
After a few moments of silence, Penny smiled.
- How long you say it takes to weld these damn ribs?
Sheldon shook his head and smiled slightly.
- Enough to that when they are perfectly soldier, maybe I can break other two ribs in the process of coitus.
The girl giggled.
- Perhaps it's me who breaks yours, Moonpie...
