Chapter 54: Something New (Part I)(Cuz they all have parts don't they?)
A/N: Okay, all apologies but my favorite thing in life (besides my wife) is dialogue. I just have to! I do promise that the sex after the wedding? It will be epic.

Ashlee opened her eyes slowly. She hadn't really been asleep, more like floating somewhere between a dream and reality.
In the dream, there was something soft beneath her... something warm...
Something that smelled really... REALLY good.
Reluctantly, she pulled her face away from the soft, sweet skin it had been pressed against. She pushed herself up on her arms, looking down at the woman beneath her as she tried to catch the breath that left her body so quickly.
And she remembered... smiling.
Amy had been so shy. Leading her up the two flights of stairs to her quaint little apartment above the downtown pharmacy. She had shown her the bathroom, the kitchen... and hesitantly... the bedroom.
Then she had led her back to the couch and made her almost cry by asking if she wanted to watch a movie.
A movie.
They settled on "Where the Day Takes You", something she had surprisingly missed considering the number of stars that took part in it.
Not that it mattered.
The movie was good, but halfway through she found herself leaning heavily against the woman at her side.
And when Amy laid back, taking her hands and pulling her close...She hadn't argued.
She didn't even want to.
Her kisses were... a revelation. Something Ashlee had long ago stopped longing for.
And yet, here they were.
Soft, yet demanding... The older woman's tongue dipping deeply into her mouth and yet...
She never tried to flip her over.
Never tried to take control.
And after an hour, Amy had gathered the young blonde into her arms and fallen asleep.
That more than anything...
That made Ashlee fall.
She blinked when she realized what she was feeling. Confused by it, because it wasn't like before.
Before there was hope... but there was also fear... and self doubt.
Now, as she looked down at the woman beneath her, Ashlee realized... She felt none of that.
She laid back down.
All she wanted, was to stay right there and just hold her.
For now, anyway...

Olivia frowned.
The noise was annoying.
A constant and repetitive buzzing that just would not stop.
Reaching out, she slammed her hand down on her alarm clock over and over, trying to get it to shut up.
After two minutes she started to give up hope.
"Olivia." Natalia reached for her, gripping her arm gently. "Olivia!'
"What?"
The brunette looked at her sweetly, something she could not have pulled off this early on a Saturday morning. "It's not your clock." She reached over the blonde, grabbing her cell phone and sighing when she saw the name on the screen. "It's your Doris." She handed Olivia the phone and rolled over, wrapping herself up in the comforter. "Take it downstairs, please."
Olivia blinked.
Without thinking, she slid her thumb across the screen. "Hang on." She said gruffly. She thought about grabbing a robe but considering she was still wearing a full set of pajamas she didn't see the point in June. Sliding her feet into her slippers, she shuffled down the stairs.
When she reached the living room she sat down heavily, leaning back and resting her hand over her eyes before bringing the phone to her ear.
"Doris?"
"Hey! You're up!"
Olivia bit her lip; closing her eyes as she counted to five. "Is that... really what you're going to open with?"
She heard the other woman take a breath.
"Okay..." Doris hedged. "Maybe... it is a little early."
"A little ear-" Olivia breathed in, trying her hardest to channel Natalia. "Doris... you are about four syllables away from ending up on a hit list. Make them count."
"I slept with Blake."
Olivia sat up quickly. "Uh... That's... That's... Okay... what is that?"
"It's... good?"
"Is that a question?" She could hear the fear in the other woman's breath and sighed. "Where is she now?"
"Oh..." Doris tried to sound calm. "Upstairs... in my bed."
"And where are you?"
"Downstairs... Making coffee."
"Why?"
"I'm sorry?"
"Did she ask for coffee?"
"She hasn't woken up yet."
Olivia shook her head. "Then why aren't you still up there? Wrapped around her?"
There was a pause.
"Because I'm stupid?"
"Like I said before, Is that a question?" Olivia stood up. "I am too. I'll talk to you later, Doris." She thumbed her phone off, dropping it on the coffee table so she wouldn't be able to hear it before heading back upstairs to curl around her future.
A/N #2: Yeah, I know it is cheesy. What can I say... sometimes you just want cheese!
