Chapter Fifty: Take on the World
Yuki's POV
"I love this!" I exclaimed. No afternoon classes.
"Are you talking about the canceled classes or the fact that for the first time in weeks we've actually managed to meet without Tamaki noticing that we both left?" Kyoya asked pulling me into the club room.
"Would you be insulted if I said classes?" I asked sheepishly.
"No." He kissed me softly, "It was the answer I expected."
"Oh good." I kissed him lightly, he deepened the kiss.
"Oh look, Takashi, they had the same idea we had about an hour ago."
We broke apart and looked over to see Takashi and Sumi sitting on the couch.
"Hour and a half." Takashi corrected.
"Oh yes, you're right." Sumi nodded, "Hour and a half."
"Kyo-chan! Yu-chan!" Hunny greeted coming out of the kitchen, "You want to join us?"
"Or you two can go back to making out?" Sumi teased us, "Totally up to you."
Hunny looked at us wide eyed and then smiled looking to Takashi and Sumi, "I told you they would! You both owe me 500 yen."
They paid him.
"I still don't think that's fair, since Reiko told you that they were going to." Sumi told him.
"Rei had a feeling and I trust her intuition." Hunny shrugged, "You both made no rules about girlfriends predicting it to happen." He pointed out, and then added without thinking, "Plus it was only a matter of time till they got back together."
"Who else knows?" I asked them dryly.
"Just us." Sumi replied, "But we all already knew you together before, we agreed it was only a matter of time before you guys got back together."
Eventually we sat down and hung out with them.
"Wow, you guys are here early." Tamaki said as he came in with Hikaru, Kaoru, and Kimi.
"We were bored." I replied.
"Really?" Tamaki asked surprised, "You loved the exposition last year."
"I'm not in any events till tomorrow." I replied shrugging, "They wanted to put me in one this afternoon, but apparently I'm busy." I threw a pointed look at Kyoya.
"You were the one who made a commitment to the club." Kyoya replied.
Unlike Sumi, Takashi, and Hunny, everyone else pretty much thought we were still not really getting along, so we had to pretend we weren't if we wanted everything to go as planned.
"We've got an hour before club starts, we should probably change." Tamaki stated, not wanting to hear a fight about my commitments to the club, "You girls go first, you'll take less time than we will to put all of the armor and suits on."
We nodded and then went over to the dresses, since I hadn't been in the club when they ordered the costumes and Sumi had been busy, the guys ordered the costumes and it was a joint effort by Kyoya, Takashi, Hikaru, and Kaoru.
Sumi's was nice; it kind of reminded me of the dress from Ella Enchanted, the movie, not the book. It was blue and short sleeved with a white long sleeve shirt that went underneath it. It had white vines going up both sides of her torso and laced up in the front. It also came with a greenish brown flowery belt.
"You don't have a corset." I noticed the difference in the three of our costumes.
"Yeah, Takashi picked it out." Sumi replied, "He gets it."
"I guess he does." I replied surprised as she went to go change.
Kimi's dress was pretty and simple. She had a red and black corset that loosely tied in the front. She had a white short sleeve peasant blouse that went underneath it, and then a black skirt. It was easy to get into, put on, and get out of, and she could do it by herself.
"Who picked yours?" I asked her looking at her costume.
"Hikaru and Kaoru." She replied, "They said something about my chest size and trying to be conservative while still flaunting what I've got. I told Kaoru that if he ever wants to go near them in the future, he'll find me something that doesn't attract too much attention. I really don't feel like having people stare down my chest that don't really need to."
"Tell me something, who picked out my dress?" I asked her nicely, looking at my dress again which was impossible to put on by myself.
Mine was a Renaissance witch costume. Sumi's costume was a Renaissance maiden. Kimi's was a bar wench. Mine was violet. Women who wore purple in the renaissance period were hung for fear of being a witch there was only one berry that could produce the die color purple and it was extremely toxic. It was believed if you even went near the plant you were possessed. The bodice was a double laced corset pannel bodice with a white chemise three quarter length sleeved chemise, a gray tattered skirt and a violet underskirt.
"Kyoya-senpai." She answered.
"Kyoya!" I yelled annoyed, going back out to where the guys were, "Are you kidding? Not only do I have the most reveling dress, it's impossible to put on! A double lace panel corset bodice?! Are you joking? It's boned and I can't breathe in it! That's just evil! That's what that is! I can't put that on by myself!"
"Stop yelling and making a fuss." Kyoya retorted, getting up. "I will help you with the dress, if it means I don't have to hear you complain anymore."
"I mean what were you thinking?" I continued, he grabbed the dress on the table, and we walked to somewhere to change. "Do you know how hard it is to wear something like this? It hurts, women used to break bones when they wore these because they were too tight."
"We're out of hearing range." He stated when we found a place to change. I pulled him towards me by his blazer and kissed him. He set the dress down as he kissed me back, wrapping his arms around my waist. "So, I take it you like the dress?"
"I do, it's pretty, but the bodice is going to be uncomfortable." I replied, "Luckily for me, I have experience with that, but oh, I will warn you now, Kyoya, if my brother ever decides to put you guys in dresses, there's going to be hell to pay when it comes to corsets, and heels, and heavy material. Don't even get me started on the hair and make up; you guys are going to learn how much it sucks to be us when you guys go for these kind of cosplays."
"Luckily for us then, I highly doubt there will ever be a reason for us to cross dress for a cosplay."
"Oh you never know, Kyo, maybe someone might put it in his head that all you should dress up in drag and do the hula."
"That's vindictive." He pointed out.
"Kyo, sweetheart," I smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder, "We're both vindictive."
"I wouldn't have it any other way." He smirked.
He leaned into kiss me again, I stopped him, "You came to help me into the dress, you're going to put me in the dress."
"Alright, you change and I'll help you with the dress." He replied, taking a step back, thinking I'd leave and come back. Yeah, I wasn't going to do that. I'm not shy…at all. That and he's seen me in my underwear, well that and he's Kyoya. Luckily for me, I refuse to wear the school uniform.
I crossed my arms and took the ends of my sweater and lifted it over my head.
"What are you doing?"
"Changing." I replied simply.
"Have you done this before?"
"Change?" I aske d amused, "Well, yeah, I like having a variety."
"I meant in front of other guys."
"No, you're the only one, Kyoya."
"Why?"
"Because you're you." I replied, lightly touching his cheek, "Now, would you like to help me?"
He nodded.
"You are only helping me with the dress." I stated.
"I don't get to help you out of your clothes as well?"
"Would you like to?" I asked as I unbuttoned my shirt. He kissed me deeply and helped me change.
"Okay, you know how to lace these, right?" I asked when we got to the bodice.
He kissed my collarbone, "Yes." He laced me up.
"How do I look?" I asked, turning around in circle.
"Beautiful."
"Awesome." I smiled, "All I have to do is my hair."
I put the top half in a Celtic braid and left the rest down.
"You look stunning." He stated, kissing me softly.
"I know." I replied, "C'mon we'd better go back out before they think there might be something more between us than what they've been seeing."
"You believe they are intelligent enough to figure that out?" He smirked.
I laughed and shook my head, "No." I took his hand, "C'mon, lets head out."
When we left the room, I let go of his hand. When we got back into hearing range, we started arguing again. I sat down on the couch, got a book, and started to read, while the guys went to go put on their armor. Tamaki was in white and red armor. Hikaru and Kaoru were in matching squire uniforms. Takashi was in black and navy armor. Hunny was in pink armor. Kyoya was in silver and purple armor.
"Welcome ladies." We greeted the two girls who came in.
"Well, well, well, I see you ladies are from another school." Tamaki noted, taking in the girls appearance and turned on the charm, "I certainly hope we haven't startled you. We love first time guests." He walked over to them, "I'm glad you've come, princesses." He bowed, "My darlings, even if the world were to be destroyed, I'd put my life on the line as your faithful knight and servant." He got down on one knee, "I will protect you."
"Oh my, do you really think you'd be able to protect us?" One of them scoffed, "That's awfully arrogant of you. Wouldn't you agree? You think that's what a woman wants to hear? Well, you're wrong."
Tamaki looked up. The rest of the guys looked at them blankly. Unimpressed, I looked back down at my book. It was Chizuru Maihara and Hinako Tsuwabuki, why bother; their leader wasn't with them.
"C'mon give him a break, sister Suzuran, men are just lowly lifeforms that don't care about anything other than perpetuating their own testosterone leading image by protecting us, he's actually attempting to disguise the fact that he is weak and unable of even protecting himself."
"You're such a clever girl Hinagiku."
"Don't you think that's a little harsh?" Tamaki asked them.
"It is harsh." I told him, not even bothering to look up, "But what do you expect from harpies."
"Manic over grown pixie." Hinako spat, "You're not worth it."
"Try me, see what happens." I challenged.
Hinako moved forward, Chizuru stopped her, "You're playing into her hands."
Sumi held me back, "You're not fighting with them again this year. Leave it for the competition."
Both Chizuru and Sumi were glaring at each other.
"Oh isn't this a familiar sight, the angel holding back the devil." Chizuru scoffed, "You decide to sing this year or are you going to step out like last year."
"I am this close to letting her at you, do not tempt me." Sumi warned.
"You two still upset we won last year?" Hinako asked.
"You cheated." I retorted.
"Yuki, calm down." Sumi told me, making me sit down, "They're trying to get a rise out of you."
"It's working." I replied.
"Don't let it." She sighed, "Don't give them what they want."
"What do women like you want to hear?" Tamaki asked changing the subject. They looked back to Tamaki to answer, Benio answered first as she came in with Haruhi.
"Maybe something like I would never leave my lover alone." Benio picked up Haruhi, "If we fight, we'll be together. If we fail, we fail together." She bent down in front of Haruhi, "Even if I die, I promise I will never leave your side, my love."
"Yeah, I wouldn't wanna hear any of that flowery crap either." I muttered.
"I know, right?" Kimi nodded, "How about something like 'You got troubles and I got 'em too'."
"'There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you'." Sumi added.
"'We stick together, we can see it through'" I agreed.
"You guys been watching Toy Story again?" Hunny asked.
"Yeah." We replied, shrugging.
"Benibara, we thought you'd never show." Hinako greeted her.
"What are we going to do with you?" Chizuru asked, "How is it you found this lovely young lady?"
"I just met her outside of the school." She replied, "She may be dressed as a boy, but I knew the truth. She has such pretty maiden eyes."
"Thanks, I guess." Haruhi replied as all three of the girls fawned all over her. Tamaki freaked and ran towards them, but was hit away by Benio.
When we landed back near us, we all had something in hand to cheer him up.
"She punched me!" He cried she's so violent, "She's so violent."
"Get a hold of yourself." Hunny told him.
"Guess the rumors we heard are true." Benio stated, "You guys are just a bunch of week little punks with no sense between you."
Kyoya pushed up his glasses, "Those uniforms, I assume you ladies are from Lobelia Girls Acadamy." He stated, pretending like he didn't know anything.
"That's correct." Benio replied.
The three threw off their uniforms to reveal costumes and sang their school name.
"Why do they win every year?" Sumi groaned.
"I don't know." I replied covering my ears.
"How did they fit those underneath their uniforms?" Kimi asked confused.
"We don't know." Sumi and I told her, "They just can."
Benio introduced herself and they sang their school name again. Chizuru introduced herself and they sang their school name again. Hinako introduced herself and they sang their school name again.
"Stop singing." I cried, "I don't want my ears to bleed."
"We are the members of the academy's white lily league also known as" Benio said.
"The Zuka Club!" They exclaimed.
Hikaru and Kaoru burst out laughing. Takashi and Kyoya just stood their stoically as Tamaki paled and fell to the floor.
"You shouldn't underestimate the Zuka Club." Renge stated, coming up on her rising stage laughing.
"You do know you sound evil when you laugh like that, right?" I called to her. She ignored me.
"I may not know much about instant coffee, but I'm fascinated with girls' schools."
"Then why don't you go to one?" I asked.
She gulped her coffee and continued, "St. Lobelia Academy! It is truly a woman's world there. The Zuka Club is a group of strong young maidens who consider women to be superior in every way. The club prides itself on its thirty year history; it's a society of maidens by maidens for maidens. Zuka Club activities include maiden tea parties, the maiden debate forum, and most importantly, the reason why Yuki-senpai and Sumi-senpai know them and are so heated with them vise versa, musical reviews preformed by the society's top members…"
By the time she was done explaining the boys had already taken off their armor and Sumi, Kimi, and I had just finished with our dresses.
"You sure have a vast wealth of knowledge, Renge." Kyoya told her as he straightened his tie.
"Well, I've always admired St. Lobelia's."
"You should go there then." I commented crossing my arms.
"I just couldn't go to schoo there though." She replied, "What would I do without any boys?"
'You'd be away from mine, so I don't care.' I thought, smiling falsely as she sunk down on her stage.
"A maiden's beauty, it means possessing a spirit pure enough to not give in to power or to lust."
"I guess I can scratch maiden off the list of many things I could be." I rolled my eyes.
"As a girl you, for a girl you, we've had quite enough of your oppressive male contempt for womankind."
"Having a little trouble with that sentence, Hinako?" I asked her. She glared.
"And our pride, comes from having meaningful relationships based on equality because we're the same sex, and yes, that includes that includes relationships of love." Benio stated.
"Yeah, you tell them Benio." Chizuru agreed.
"You're awesome, Benibara." Hinako exclaimed.
By the end of their lecture, none of us were paying attention. Hikaru was playing a video game, while Hunny was watching him. Kaoru and Kimi were inspecting the groceries Haruhi bought. Takashi was playing with his sword. Sumi was playing a game on her phone. Kyoya and I were sitting with our backs to one another reading. Kyoya was on the armrest and I was sitting in the corner of the couch leaning against his back.
"Whatever." Kaoru sighed, "We're so over it."
"Why don't you gals just scram?" Hikaru asked.
"I find it hard to believe that you silly boys have nothing to say about our sublime female love." Hinako laughed.
"You should feel sorry for them, Hinagiku." Chizuru replied, "They're patented host skills don't work on us now they're all flustered and they don't know what to do with themselves."
"True." Benio agreed.
"They're used to their skills not working on girls." I rolled my eyes, not looking up, "Don't flatter yourselves."
"I must say I'm glad we decided to preform here." Benio stated, "It was fun to sneak a peak at the notorious Ouran Host Club."
"Hey guys, are we really notorious?" Hunny asked us.
"Yeah." Takashi answered.
"You guys are pretty famous, Hunny." Sumi agreed.
"And to think they're dragging this sweet young girl down with them." Benio commented about Haruhi. She turned back to us, "The Host Club's president may be a pretty little halfer, but he shouldn't be using his looks to create a ficticious romance attempting to fool the heart of a pure young maiden is demeaning. You're so called club activities are nothing more than debasing macho fantasies. I promise you we will bring you guys down. The Ouran Host Club will be abolished. All hail Zuka Club."
"Referencing Nazis, smart move." I replied sarcastically, "You sure your name's Benio?"
"I don't think you guys have jurisdiction here, or at all." Sumi told them, "Ouran isn't your school and you guys are just students."
"I see." Kyoya told them, "I understand your concern, but do you think maybe we could finish this later?"
"Are you saying that you're not going to face us?" Benio asked.
"Not at all." Kyoya replied, "It's just that our president is still bedridden from the initial culture shock."
"You see Tama-chan is having his nappy time right now." Hunny explained.
"Wake him up!" Benio exclaimed angrily.
"Shut it, Harpy." I retorted.
"Make me, overgrown pixie." Benio glared, "Or are you gonna have your fallen angel friend do it for you?"
"Excuse me, I made some coffee, would you ladies like to have some?" Haruhi asked them, holding a coffee tray. They fawned over her and accepted the coffee while insulting the rest of us. Tamaki woke up to see it, freaked out, and ran towards them. He slipped on a banana peel, and his finger landed in Hinako's coffee. He backed away crying about his burn. Haruhi bandaged his finger, telling him he had to be more careful.
"Thanks, Haruhi." Tamaki replied blushing, "Do you always carry around bandages with you?"
She smiled, "Nah, the supermarket was giving them out with the purchase of instant coffee. You always get free stuff at the supermarket."
"Free stuff?" Tamaki asked surprised.
"This conversation doesn't seem to be going anywhere." Benio stated, crossing her arms.
"It might have." I rolled my eyes.
Benio pulled Haruhi towards her from where she was sitting, "Now that we know what's going on, we can't allow this maiden to stay here. We'll prepare her paperwork and have her transferred to Lobelia at once and will welcome her into the Zuka Club."
Haruhi backed away from Benio, "Hey, just wait a second, will ya? There seems to be some misunderstandings here." She threw up her hands, "I mean first of all called Senpai a halfer-"
"Cause he and Yu-chan are halfers." Hunny stated, "They're half French and half Japanese."
"Well anyway, I don't think it's fair for you to pick on the host club just because you don't think they have the same history as you do."
"We barely have any history." Hikaru told her, "We were just founded two years ago."
"Yeah, the boss created it when he started high school here." Kaoru added.
"They only just got enough status to get into the cultural exposition." I stated.
"Be that as it may, saying that their club activities are only held to satisfy their appetites is just wrong." She told Benio, starting to get defeated, "I mean it's not like their charging their guests or anything."
"Well, I wouldn't call it a charge." Kyoya told her checking his laptop, "We do have a point system, we offer priority service based on the winning bids of auctions held on our website." He explained as he pulled something up, "Check this out, Haruhi, you're used mechanical pencil just sold with a winning bid of thirty thousand yen. Good for you."
I hit Kyoya's shoulder, "What did I tell you about auctioning off people's things?"
Haruhi went over and looked at his laptop shocked, "What?! I thought I lost that pencil!" She glared at him, "Why didn't you tell me about this before Kyoya-senpai? I had no idea you were collecting money!"
"So you thought we were all just working here as volunteers?" He asked, "While it's not much because of the expense of organizing events, we happen to make a small profit from the online auctions."
"You can't sell other peoples things without asking permission!" She yelled at him.
"I've told him that." I told Haruhi, dryly, "If he doesn't listen to me, what makes you think he's gonna listen to you?"
"That's stealing!" She yelled at both of us.
"It wasn't stealing." Hikaru and Kaoru told her, "You dropped that pencil on the floor."
"It's just a pencil, Haruhi." Kimi shrugged, "It's not a big deal. I'd get it if they took something priceless or of personal value, but it was just a pencil."
Haruhi glared at them. Tamaki cried apologizing over and over. It wasn't too long before Tamaki was sulking by the wall and Haruhi was being fawned over by the Zuka club, before they left twirling out the door.
"Good riddance." I muttered.
"Why do you hate them so much?" Kimi asked, "How do you even know them?"
"We're competitors." I shrugged.
"I better be going, I've got some thinking to do." Haruhi told us before she left.
Tamaki started to cry incoherently.
"The facts are the facts." Kyoya told him, some how managing to understand him.
"Maybe we shouldn't have sold her pencil on the internet." Hunny stated.
"Yeah." Kaoru agreed, "For all we knew it was a keepsake from her mother."
"Nah, it was just a freebie that they were giving out from an electronic store." Hikaru stated.
"Gentlemen just think about it, Haruhi may be basically indifferent, but if she had to choose, we know that she tends to favor men's clothing."
"She's a tomboy." I rolled my eyes, "She doesn't favor men's clothing, she's just not a ruffles and lace girl."
"When she joined the Host Club, didn't she tell us that being fussed over by a bunch of girls might not be so bad?"
"Sometimes people like a little attention." Kimi shrugged, "That isn't a bad thing,"
"Why didn't I realize this before?" Tamaki asked, "Perhaps they would be a better match for Haruhi. Maybe she'd be better off with the Zuka Club."
"They're pysco and you're melodramatic." I muttered, "I think you're the lesser of two evils."
The rest of the guys bought into it though and that was when Tamaki told us of his secret plan to keep Haruhi.
The next day was the culture competition of the exposition, where we did shows representing the different culture clubs. Ouran's group representing the Host Club, not that the boys knew we were doing it for them, was right after the Zuka Club. I looked to my group of girls, Sumi, Reiko, Kimi, and Renge, determined to win. I had a pretty good group. Reiko could sing and play the drums. Sumi could play the guitar and sing. Kimi was going to be in the back with her laptop handling the visuals. Renge was actually talented with with a keyboard and could sing. She happily accepted when we came to her
"We're going to win this year." I told them, "And if we fail, we fail with flare. We're doing this for the boys, not us."
"Let's do this." Reiko nodded.
"Zuka's goin down." Sumi smirked.
"I'll be right behind you guys all the way." Kimi stated.
"We can to this." Renge nodded.
"Let's do this." I smiled.
The stage manager came over and told us they were ready for us and we went on stage. The curtain was already open.
"Hey everyone." I greeted, "So we're not going to do whatever that just was. We're here to do something special for the Host Club."
The customers screamed and cheered.
"I see some of you have heard of them." I smiled, "So this is for you boys. We love you guys and the club. I think most would agree the school wouldn't be the same without you."
The Ouran students cheered.
"We'd like to thank Hunny for helping us find this song." I gave a shout out to Hunny, "This ones for you guys!" I looked to Sumi and nodded and she started to play. Kimi started the graphics shortly after. She put together a video of pictures and footage of the club and matched them to the lyrics and timing of the song.
"I've been waiting
For a day like this to come
Struck like lightning
My heart's beating like a drum
On the edge of something wonderful." I sang.
"Face to face with changes,
What's it all about?
Life is crazy,
But I know I can work it out
Cause I got you to live it with me!" Sumi sang.
All four of us sang the chorus, "I feel alright
I'm gonna take on the world!
Light up the stars
I've got some pages to turn.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I got a ticket to the top of the sky.
I'm coming up
I'm on the ride of my life.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world!"
There was a musical interlude, and then I sang, "Puzzle pieces
Throw them up into the air
Taking chances,
Moments happen everywhere
And I got you to live it with me!"
All four of us repeated the chorus, "I feel alright
I'm gonna take on the world!
Light up the stars
I've got some pages to turn.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I got a ticket to the top of the sky.
I'm coming up
I'm on the ride of my life.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world, take on the world!"
"Flying high I won't look down" Sumi and I sang, "Let my fears fall to the ground"
"I feel alright
I'm gonna take on the world
Light up the stars
I've got some pages to turn" Sumi sang.
"I got a ticket to the top of the sky
I'm coming up
I'm on the ride of my life" I sang.
All four of us finished out the song, "I feel alright
I'm gonna take on the world!
Light up the stars
I've got some pages to turn.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I got a ticket to the top of the sky.
I'm coming up
I'm on the ride of my life.
I'm singing oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world, take on the world!
Take on the world!"
The Ouran students cheered, we bowed and got off the stage.
"Hey boys." I greeted when we left the auditorium. They were staring at us surprised.
"I think they enjoyed the show." Sumi stated.
"They definitely enjoyed the show." I smiled.
"How can you tell?" Kimi asked.
"We just do." We smiled.
"I'll see you guys later." Reiko told us, "I have some stuff for the Black Magic Club to do, thanks for letting me help."
"Thanks for agreeing." I replied.
"See ya later?" Reiko asked Hunny.
"Of course, we're going to the new bakery downtown." He smiled.
"Great." She smiled and went to kiss his cheek, he turned his head, and she pecked him on the lips. She blushed. His smile grew. He kissed her cheek and she left.
"You did that on purpose." I teased.
"And it was worth it." He replied.
"Come on, let's go get you guys ready." I laughed, "Sumi, you help Hunny get into his dress. Renge, you've got Tamaki. Kimi, you have Hikaru and Kaoru. And I have Kyoya."
"May I ask why you're helping me and not your brother?" Kyoya asked.
"Payback." I replied.
When we got to the club, we split off to help the guys, except for Takashi because he understood what we had to go through and I convinced Tamaki to let him stay dressed as a guy, which he silently thanked me for, dress up as girls.
"How are you doing?" I asked as I pulled at the laces again tightly so the corset would stay and keep the dress in place.
"It's difficult to say." He replied.
"Often is with dresses like this." I replied, "I'm surprised at how well you're doing with the underskirt the top part seemed a little too small, but these are made for women, so I'm not surprised."
"Was the underskirt needed?"
"Of course, with dresses like these, you want them to poof out not remain flat." I smiled.
"How do you breathe in all of this?" Kyoya asked as I tied the laces of the corset in the back of the dress tightly.
"Carefully or not at all." I replied dryly, "Sit, I have to do your hair."
"I don't think I can."
"You can, you just have to it properly and carefully." I told him, "Keep your back straight or your chest will hurt worse. Be happy I'm not making you wear the shoes yet."
He sat down as I told him.
"Why should I be happy about that?"
"Because heels are a male invention designed to make women's butts look smaller..." I replied, and then added, "And to make it harder for them to runaway. They're painful if you're not used to them, but they'll hurt even if you're used to them, it just takes longer."
I picked up the hair piece and started putting it in.
"Now, whatever you do, don't move." I stated, pulling out the curling iron.
"Why?"
"Cause I don't want to burn you." I replied before curling and fixing the hair piece.
When I was finished, I picked up the make-up bag I was given and looked through it. It was easy to tell the make up was picked by a guy. I sighed, there was no foundation and the rest was too bright, too much and over done.
"You are so lucky I'm working on you." I told him.
"Why?"
"Cause I'm not gonna use the make-up bag Tamaki gave me." I told him pulling out my own make-up, "I'm gonna use mine."
"Why is that better?"
"When you see the rest of the guys, you'll thank me."
I took off his glasses and set them on the table next to me, and took out the gel I put on before I put on my foundation on him.
"Is that supposed to feel-"
"Cold?" I asked, "Yeah, it means its working. It's supposed to prevent break outs."
I took out my concealer, and drew under his eyes and around his nose. I put my foundation on him, I was lucky our skin tones were close enough.
"You're buying me more make-up." I stated as I finished with the foundation. I chucked it in the trash cause I was out.
"Why not let Tamaki do it for you?" He asked.
"Because I used the last of my foundation on you and not on him." I replied simply, taking out the blush, I lightly got some on the brush, and then blew on it, before applying it to him.
"Why'd you do that?"
"Blow on it?" I asked, clarifying. "Because you don't want to apply too much, it doesn't look good. You have to lightly dust it. Make-up is supposed to enhance your beauty; it's not supposed to look like you really have any on. Too little can give off the signal to a guy that you don't really try in your appearance, but too much you'll look like a hooker." I explained, putting away the blush, and taking out the two eye shadows I had: Twilight Mauve and Beach Plum and looked at him, studying his features intently. I put the Twilight Mauve back because it was too purply and placed the Beach Plum on the table next to me.
"Close your eyes." I told him, "You don't want this to get in your eyes, believe me."
He closed his eyes. I took out a bigger eye shadow case and a defining brush. I got a slightly gold color, blew on it, and dusted on his eyelids to bring out the shape of his eyes and then put the bigger case back and when to the little eye shadow duo. I tapped the brush and then brushed it against the sand color, blew on it, and dusted it on his eyelids. I put the defining brush back and got out a blending brush and did the same thing with the plum color. I took out my black pencil eyeliner. There was no way I was going to use my date eyeliner on him, I don't care if I was dating him, he's lucky I'm putting my make-up on him. I sharpened it and traced his eye lids.
"Okay, open your eyes." I told him, "I have to put mascara on you."
He opened them, "You girls do all of this?"
"We go through most of it every day." I laughed, "Hair, make-up, shaving, high heels, eyebrows, the list goes on."
"So much, why?"
"Well, I can't speak for all women, but many case in general, straight guys don't realize that all of the things that you guys don't have to do that we do, we do it for you." I said finishing with the mascara. I put it away. I looked through my lipsticks and decided on the rose gold, it was the best one I had for his skin tone and put it on him. I put it back and put his glasses back on him. "Done, all you have to do is put on the shoes."
He stood and put on the heels.
"How do I look?" He asked.
"Do you want me to tell the truth or lie to you?" I asked as I put my make-up bag away.
"Truth."
"You look like an idiot, but less of one than others dress up like this are." I replied.
We went out to where the others were. I was right. He did look like less of an idiot. Sumi, Renge, and Kimi used the bags. Sumi and Kimi were sitting on the couch, Renge had already left.
"Good luck, boys." I told them.
"You're not staying for the plan?" Hunny asked surprised.
"No, I think I've seen enough of you guys in dresses." I replied, "I have to go pick up a book from the library anyway."
"Take me with you!" Kimi exclaimed.
"Mind if I join?" Sumi asked.
"C'mon." I told them.
We left for the library.
"Couldn't handle it either?" I asked them.
"No." Kimi shook her head, "My boyfriend in a dress was one of the last things I wanted to see."
When we came back, the boys were back in their uniforms. Haruhi was staying, and in actuality, she was never going to leave.
The next day, Kyoya and I actually got to the club before everyone else. I smiled at him, he smirked and then kissed me. We separated when the doors opened and everyone walked in.
"You think they saw anything?" I whispered.
"I don't think so." He replied.
"Hey Kyoya that's an interesting gadget, what is it?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked Kyoya. He had taken out his Swiss army knife to open one of the boxes.
"Yeah, where'd you get it?" Hunny asked.
"Swiss army knife." He replied, "It was a Christmas present."
Haruhi's mouth dropped and looked between me and Kyoya. She had been with me when I bought it. I told her it was for someone special.
"Haruhi, can I talk to you?" I asked pulling her into another room, giving Kyoya a look that basically said 'she knows.' He quickly followed us into the other room and shut the door behind him.
"You and You?" She asked looking between us.
"Yes, but you can't tell anyone." I told her, "We're not ready to tell everyone yet."
"People are going to find out you two can't hide this forever. Don't you have a detective following you around or something?" Haruhi replied.
"He was paid to hand over the rest of his files and to leave her alone." Kyoya answered.
"So you bought her detective." Haruhi replied.
"Yes." Kyoya answered without missing a beat.
"When did you do that?" I asked him. I didn't know he did that.
"A few days after you talked to your father after you first got here. I should've-"
"Thank you." I told him before he could say anything else.
"Why are you both hiding this from the club?"
"Because we're not supposed to be dating. If I'm caught in a relationship with anyone "higher than my social class", I get sent back to Paris."
"What? That's stupid."
"I didn't make up the rule, I just pretend to follow it and all of the other rules she has set for me."
"Not only would we experience that problem, funds for the club would go down due to the knowledge one of the members was unavailable." Kyoya added in another issue we had discussed when we decided upon secrecy.
"Wait, are you saying you would quit?" Haruhi asked.
"No, I would just not host. I have other jobs in the club where I am needed and I would do those." He explained. I looked at him surprised. He kissed me lightly.
"When did this happen?" A shocked voice asked. We looked up to see the rest of the club, except for Haruhi. The voice belonged to a very shocked Tamaki.
"Months ago…" I replied sheepishly.
I looked at the rest of the group. They all had a different look on their face.
The twins were smirking, they were different smirks slightly though. Hikaru had an 'I knew it' upon his face. Kaoru had more of a 'finally' smirk on his face as Kimi held his hand. Kimi looked at him and jerked her head as if to say 'C'mon, let's go' to him. He nodded and they left with Hikaru following suit.
Takashi was standing behind Tamaki with Hunny on his shoulders and Sumi right beside him. They had soft smiles on their faces. They already knew. Takashi looked down at Sumi, she smiled at him and nodded. They left.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Tamaki asked us.
"We weren't ready." I replied.
Tamaki sighed, "Well, no one will hear about it from us. Be good to her, Kyoya."
Kyouya nodded.
"Thank you, Tama." I said leaning into Kyoya a little, as he put his arm around my waist. Tamaki nodded and left, shutting the door behind him.
"That went better than we expected." Kyoya surmised.
"And they are going to keep our secret too." I replied, "I wish we didn't have to."
"We don't have a choice."
"And if someone else finds out?"
"We'll figure that out when we get to it." He replied and kissed my head. "Are you ready to go back out there?"
"Are you?" I replied.
"Let's go." He replied. We went out to join the others, hand and hand.
"So were you two together before Christmas?" Hikaru asked.
"Yes, but we took a break for awhile a couple a months right before." I answered.
"Were you two together when we locked you in here?" Kaoru asked.
"No." Kyoya replied, "We had just got back to being friends."
"We knew beforehand that you were going to lock us up." I added, "So we went along with it and then talked about a way to get you back, eventually I found a way for you to go out of your minds."
"You did something, didn't you?" Hikaru, Kaoru, and Tamaki asked.
"You could say that." I smirked, I kissed Kyoya's cheek and went to go get a book out of my bag.
Kyoya's POV
"She did something, didn't she?" They asked me.
"Take it easy, you never had a chance." I replied.
"Oh, she's an evil little girl," The twins commented shocked and with appreciation, "an evil little girl."
"Yeah, but every time I kiss her, I don't care." I commented, going over to check my laptop before the club opened for business.
