Ever since Amy had brought Selina back to Elijah, she'd been in a mood, something that had not escaped Klaus' notice.
"All right," he said. "What's the matter with you? Ever since Selina was here, you've been cranky."
"I don't know what you mean," Amy replied, not meeting his eyes.
"Yes, you do," Klaus said. "Come on. Don't do this to me, Amy. Did you really not want her here after all?"
"No, it was fine that she was here," Amy got out. "SHE was not the problem. You were. Bringing Marcel up to her room and being all 'Come and meet Lonely Heart'. 'Lonely Heart is so wonderful'. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were still in love with her! And you went to her anniversary party!"
"No!" Klaus shook his head. "Her bad behavior brings back a lot of fond memories, that's all. But Amy, I love you". He paused "And if you recall, I asked you if you wanted to come to Elijah and Selina's anniversary party, but you said you didn't."
Amy scoffed. "I bet you'd love me more if I went evil and started killing people like Selina did."
"I can't say it wouldn't be a turn on for me," Klaus admitted. "But it's nothing you have to do."
"Don't do that," Amy shook her head. "That pretending just to try and make me feel better. Just don't." Then she stalked away without another word to him.
"What's wrong with Mommy?" Savannah asked her father. She had a cookie in one hand, and a sippy cup of blood in the other.
"She's just a little upset with me cause I visited your Aunt Selina," Klaus replied. "That's all."
"Oh," Savannah nodded. "Okay." She stood beside her father and they both ate their cookies.
"What's wrong with Amy?" Marcel asked as he came down the hallway.
"She's out of sorts because Selina spent the night and I was apparently much too enthusiastic when I introduced her to you," Klaus replied.
"I tell you what," Marcel said with a grin. "She was definitely not what I was expecting." He looked at Savannah. "Where did you get those cookies?"
"From Aunt Selina's bakery," Savannah replied.
"Oh, my god," Marcel chuckled. "She has a bakery too? Well, that just figures, doesn't it?"
Savannah took a bite of her cookie, then stared at Marcel with her cheek bulging out of her face cause it was filled with cookie. Then, she headed to her room. Klaus finished his cookie and then gave Marcel a pat on the shoulder. "I'm gonna go try and get to the bottom of whatever is bothering Amy," he said.
"Good luck," Marcel replied.
Klaus reached his and Amy's bedroom, and when he opened the door, a bucked of water fell down on his head. Then, Amy, who was sitting on the bed, burst into laughter.
"Well, that was funny!" She cried when she could get a breath.
"Yes, hilarious," Klaus replied. "But whatever puts you in a better mood." He went to get a towel and wipe himself off. When he came back into the room, he said to Amy, "Look, I know you're upset about the whole Selina thing, so what do you say to you and me spending the day together? Just us."
"Really?" Amy asked. "Are you serious?"
"Of course!" Klaus replied earnestly. "Why would I lie?"
"I didn't think you were lying," Amy replied. "I just thought you'd, you know, want to spend the day with Marcel or something."
"Oh, don't worry about that," Klaus replied. "He told me he's actually thinking of looking for an apartment or something around here, so I'll be able to see him whenever I want."
"Is that so?" Amy asked, getting off the bed and coming toward him.
"Yes," Klaus nodded, putting his arms around her and bringing them toward her butt. "Does that make you nervous?"
"No," Amy shook her head. "I think having a friend around would be good for you. It might take your mind off your unreasonably strong dislike for Jonathan."
"Or just give me someone to help taunt him with me," Klaus replied.
Amy sighed. "I mean, I understand the general reason why you dislike him so much, but don't you think you're going just a little overboard?"
"Never," Klaus replied resolutely. "So, do you want to go out or not?"
"Of course I do," Amy replied, and kissed him. "Of course, I'll have to call Jonathan about watching Savannah."
"Or you could call Kol and Margot," Klaus suggested. "I'm sure they aren't doing anything that can't be postponed for awhile."
"No," Amy shook her head. "I can't do that. Cause then they'd have to bring Regina, and remember how we decided it would be best not to put her in the same room as Savannah anymore?"
"Fine," Klaus sighed. "Go call Jonathan."
Amy did so and he appeared momentarily. "All right," Klaus said and gave his nemesis a sour look before turning to Amy. "Can we go now?"
"Of course we can," Amy replied. "We'll probably be out all day," she told Jonathan. "Or at least most of it. Is that all right with you?"
"Sure," Jonathan replied. "Have fun."
"You too," Amy replied, then she and Klaus disappeared.
Of course it wasn't long before Savannah decided she wanted to invite Susanna over. "Can I do that?" She asked Jonathan. "Please?"
"Oh, all right," Jonathan replied.
"And we can play a game outside!" Savannah cried. "Like tennis!"
"It'll be a little difficult to play with three of us," Jonathan told her.
"Not a problem," Savannah said, and then called at the top of her voice for Marcel.
"You shouted?" He asked dryly.
"I just wanted to say that Susanna is coming over, and then we're playing tennis," Savannah told him. "We need four people, so do you want to play?"
"Sure," Marcel replied. "Why not? Let's do it!"
With that in mind, Savannah shut her eyes, and after a period of time, Susanna appeared.
"And just where did you come from?" Marcel asked Susanna in surprise.
"I just popped in," Susanna replied. "Savannah called me."
"But you didn't say anything!" Marcel cried.
"I did in my head," Savannah replied. "And then she came. Isn't that cool?"
"Yes," Marcel replied, still looking a little confused. "It's great."
"So, what do you say we go out and play tennis now?" Jonathan asked the girls.
"All right," Savannah nodded. "But I'll have to make a court first. We don't actually have one."
"I'll help," Susanna said.
"All right," Jonathan nodded. He and Marcel followed the girls outside and set up chairs to watch them. Since it was kind of warm, Jonathan zapped up a couple of beers for them to drink while they watched the tennis court be set up.
"You know, you're not so bad," Marcel told Jonathan with a grin. "Klaus makes you out to be some sort of monster."
"Well, I was involved with Amy many years ago," Jonathan told him. "So Klaus still feels a bit threatened, even though he has no reason to be." He paused. "But you won't hold Klaus' ill will toward me against me, will you?"
"Of course not," Marcel replied. "You seem like a decent guy to me." Soon after, the tennis court was set up, and after pairing Jonathan and Savannah against Marcel and Susanna, they got ready to play.
"Sorry for my daddy the other day," Susanna apologized to Marcel during a break in the game. "Usually, he's a very nice man."
"I understand," Marcel replied. "I don't fault him for it. And is your brother always so bloodthirsty?"
"Not really," Susanna shook her head. "Usually he's nice too. But mostly cause he's got a crush on a girl!"
"Is that so?" Marcel asked. "Who is it?"
"Margaret," Susanna said. "I don't know if you've met her."
"No," Marcel shook his head, and then paused. "I thought you, me, and Savannah were going to play a game. Where is she?"
"Sorry!" Savannah called as she and Jonathan came out and grabbed tennis rackets. "Ready to play?"
"Sure!" Susanna called back. Then she winked at Marcel. "I know you wanna see some of my magic," she said. "Wanna see me use it to make us win?"
"Okay," Marcel replied hesitantly. "Go ahead and show me." She served the ball, and with a wave of her free hand, it turned into dozens of tennis balls flying at Savannah and Jonathan.
"Hey!" Savannah called as she and Jonathan both dove to the ground and he tried desperately to protect her head. "What are you doing?"
"Winning!" Susanna called back.
"No, you're not!" Savannah cried, and turned the tennis balls into bubbles that floated away and popped. "See?"
"Well, crap," Susanna muttered. Then, Savannah started picking up some of the balls that hadn't been turned into bubbles and began throwing them at Susanna. Pretty soon, balls were flying back and forth at lightening speed, and neither girl seemed worried about getting hurt.
Jonathan and Marcel tried to separate them and stop the fighting, but finally, they just backed off and sat down to watch. "You think they'll be all right?" Jonathan asked.
"Yes," Marcel replied. "I think they will."
