Hey before this chapter starts I feel like I owe my readers an explanation. Anyone can see that my story is very long and I've been writing it for years now. And sorry about the cliffhanger too btw but real talk. Over 50 chapters and not done I'm sure it's obvious to see that my personal life has been up and down but that's not the real reason why my updates are so slow and inconsistent. I'm very lucky to have patient and supportive readers. But these are the reasons for my slow updates.
1. Naruto's plot
Yeah when I started writing this, the manga was still ongoing. Now both the manga and the anime are over and now there are sequels coming out. And I don't know if I should continue this story beyond the first installment. Let me know in reviews please. And hopefully we can all agree that Naruto's plot has become a lil convoluted. So much that I have to change some of my own plot points because this happened and they died yare yare. The point is it can be hard to follow sometimes.
2. FF screwed me over a lil
I guess this is no ones fault considering that FF has been around literally for years. Makes us all feel old huh? Naruto's over and grown up and my fanfic is old enough to grow and lose baby teeth. But I don't know if this is just me or not but FF has had a nasty habit of locking me out of my account. And that kinda kills my motivation (sometimes). Also can't update if I'm locked out of my own account. I'll never forget that one time I was locked out for so long that all my documents were far beyond their 90 day lifespan and had vanished. And I know that sounds dramatic but this is important for writers, even fanfic writers. Our writing takes effort! And all that effort gone to waste is just! It's not pleasant.
Thanks for listening I hope this helps you guys understand why my updates are really really painfully slow and why there all these unfortunate hiatuses. I honestly didn't think anybody cared about my lil OC story anymore. But all I can say to you guys who still read my stuff. Thank you.
"What are you doing?" Naruto asked. Sasuke said nothing and took his hand off her.
"Nothing." he said.
"Sakura went to visit you in your own room." Naruto told him. "But it looks like, you were trying to steal Kenji's eyes."
Sasuke only looked back at him. "Haven't you ever wondered how she's been able to fight with so much power?" he asked him.
"Because she trained!" Naruto said.
"No it's because of Orochimaru."
. . .
It was morning. Kenji's eyes opened, she found herself looking at the ceiling. "Kenji!" someone called her. She moved her head and saw Tenten at her side. "Oh good morning. I never thought I'd get visitors." Kenji yawned.
"Kenji, you weren't awake when this happened but Sasuke's gone." Tenten told her.
"Gone huh? Gone on a mission?" she asked.
"No. He went rogue." Tenten said.
! Kenji bursted out of the room. She immediately started running and jumping from building to building. She got to her room and got on her ninja sandals, kunai holster, and her pouch. She wore her standard shorts and a black shirt.
"I bet Naruto's going after Sasuke as well!" she thought and hurried to the door. "If I hurry!" she opened it.
"In a rush aren't we?" Teruko said.
"Nee-san. . ."
"You heard about that Uchiha boy didn't you?" she asked.
"Are you trying to stop me?" Kenji asked her.
Teruko sighed, she stepped in and closed the door behind her. "Yes." she said.
"Why? He's my teammate! My friend!" Kenji exclaimed.
"Kenji, don't you see he's gone. To Orochimaru." Teruko said making Kenji's breath halt.
"Out of the way, I need to go!"
"No! Kenji he doesn't care about you or anyone anymore. All he cares about is power. He's not coming back." Teruko told her.
Kenji stepped back, "He's my best friend. . . I have to try." she went and pried open the window.
"Kenji!"
She immediately jumped out of the window. She took off, she felt the wind against her bare arms. "I don't have my jacket this time. . ." she felt her forehead. "Or my hitaite."
She started running on foot she was planning on heading to the exit already before Teruko caught up with her. But then she heard a very loud voice. "Kenji!" the shout rang through her ears.
She was afraid it was Teruko but then she was glomped. "Oof!" she hit the ground with someone squeezing her. "Naruto-kun?"
"You're ok!" Naruto cried.
"Oh, you heard about that?" she asked.
"I was afraid you would die. . .!"
"Naruto, you know I have regenerative abilities. I would've lived. . ." Kenji reminded him. Then she noticed Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba staring down at them. And Kiba especially who had a very toothy and cheesy grin. Kenji blushed and sat up.
"U-uhhm! Anyway!" she regained her composure. Kiba exchanged glances with Shikamaru and Choji. "I heard about Sasuke." she told him.
"We're preparing to go after him right now." Shikamaru told her.
"Huh?"
"It was a mission given to us by the Hokage herself." he informed her. "We could use you. Are you in fighting shape?"
"Yeah." she said. Naruto frowned at her and she sheepishly took off the bandages on her head that she forgot was there. She stood back up, "I healed up. I can do this. Besides I'm friends with the pansy. And I think I know exactly what he's up to. . ." she said.
"Well good enough." Shikamaru said.
"Are you sure?" Choji asked.
"Well we are up against dangerous shinobi and Kenji's our #1 Spooky Kunoichi." said Shikamaru.
"Ah man, I was hoping that title wouldn't stick. . ." Kenji said.
Before they took off, Naruto stopped Kenji. "I really don't want you to come on this mission after what just happened to you." he said to her.
"Naruto, I have to go. Sasuke's my nakama. . ." she said.
"I know." he said. He took out her headband. "You'll need this, dattebayo."
"That's right." she smiled and took it. She wrapped under her bangs and made a tight knot in the back. "Let's go!"
