"So why are you in Oak Town?" Sting asked, sitting down on the bank of the pond.
"I had to move in with my dad," Lucy said. She sat down beside Sting and lit one of her freshly bought cigarettes. She was wondering if she would pick up the habit again.
"And Layla just let you leave?" Sting asked. He didn't think that Layla would just let her daughter go so easily.
"My dad owns the railroads," Lucy said. "The police almost have to do what he says."
"How'd Gray take it?" Sting laid down on the grass and looked up at the clouds.
"He wasn't happy, that's for sure." She took a long drag of her cigarette. "He didn't leave my side for a whole week."
"I bet you had some great goodbye s-"
Lucy kicked Sting's side, making him cough. "One, that's something between Gray and I. Two, we did. So can we change topics?"
Sting laughed and sat up again. "Would you believe it if I told you that I would date you in a heartbeat?" he asked, looking over to Lucy.
"You seem so different now," Lucy said, shaking her head. "You were so cocky and arrogant then. Now you seem like a great guy. If I didn't have Gray, I'm sure I would take you up on that offer." She threw her cigarette butt into the pond.
"What's the point of dating him if he's so far away?" Sting asked. "It's not like you're signed to a contract."
Lucy sighed. She sort of was. Gray gave her his necklace, promising to marry her. It was like she was engaged, but she wasn't. She couldn't even imagine her life without him.
Next thing she knew, Sting was kissing her. She was pretty shocked. He had his hands on the ground on either side of her. She hesitantly put her hands on his shoulders. She almost forgot how amazing of a kisser he was. Her mind was screaming for her to stop, but every fiber in her being was begging for her to just go with it. She was suddenly feeling very tired. She ended up falling back on the ground with Sting on top of her.
"Are you okay?" he asked. He could see that something was wrong.
"I just got...really tired," Lucy said slowly. She felt like she could sleep forever.
"I've never put a girl to sleep before," Sting laughed. He rolled off of her and helped her sit up. She put her head on his shoulder and fell asleep almost instantly.
Lucy later woke up to the sun setting. She noticed that there was a pressure on her head. She looked and saw that her head was resting on Sting's shoulder, and his cheek was resting on the top of her head. He was fast asleep. She had the perfect angle to see his sleeping face. He looked pretty peaceful. She was really wondering how he didn't have a girlfriend. He was very attractive, after all.
"Sting," Lucy said, poking his cheek. He squinted his eyes before opening then. He took his head off of hers and rubbed his eyes sleepily.
"Hey, Lucy," he said, yawning. She thought he looked adorable. He looked like a little kid when they woke up.
"I think I need to get home," Lucy said. Sting nodded and stood up, pulling her up with him. They walked home together in complete silence, their conversation earlier running through both of their heads.

"Gray!"
Gray jumped. "What?" he asked. He was sitting at this cafe with all his friends. They all decided to go out, mainly to make sure Gray was okay. From the looks of it, he wasn't.
"We've been calling your name for five minutes," Levy said. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine," Gray said, shaking his head. He missed Lucy so much. Just the idea of him not knowing where she is or what she's doing drove him insane. He didn't know if she was safe. Yes, Sting could protect her at school, but what about at home? Her father could be abusive. If he was, Gray would never forgive himself for letting her go.
"Gray!" Lisanna yelled, snapping him out of his daze. "You're not okay. You keep zoning out."
"It's okay," Mira said. "She's probably having a great time right now. You don't need to worry. Besides, she would call if she needed you."
Gray realized that she hasn't even texted him since she left. Was she too busy? Or was she ignoring him? Did she find someone else? Was she moving on? Maybe he freaked her out. He told her he was going to marry her! That probably freaked her out! He was feeling even worse. Should he text her? Call her? What would she say? Would she be excited? But if she was moving on or freaked out, she wouldn't want to talk, right? He groaned and slammed his head against the table.
"What is going through your head?" Laxus asked. He was feeling a little guilty himself, though. He didn't even give his sister a proper goodbye.
"What if she hates me?" Gray mumbled. He almost regretted giving her his necklace. They were seventeen and have known each other for less than a year, yet he turns around and makes a life-long commitment! Why was wrong with him?
"I think he's just upset because he lost his necklace," Natsu said. Everyone looked at him in confusion. "What? He's not wearing it. He must have lost it."
"You lost it?!" Lyon and Ultear shrieked at the same time.
"I didn't lose it," Gray mumbled, awkwardly looking away. He didn't tell anyone that he gave it to Lucy. On top of the fact that he may get in trouble, it was so embarrassing. Not to mention that Erza and Layla would kill him.
"So you just woke up and decided not to wear it?" Lyon asked through grit teeth. He always thought that he should have gotten his father's necklace. Even as a child he believed that Gray would lose or break it. It seemed like he did have a reason to worry, after all.
"Listen, I know exactly where it is. Can we just stop talking about this?" Gray pleaded. He really didn't want to talk about Lucy anymore. But really, he just needed to last into the weekend. Then he could go and visit her. But if he did that, he might not be able to let her go a second time.

"Miss Lucy, a friend if yours is here to walk you to school. Shall I let him in?" a maid asked from outside Lucy's bedroom. Sting was not-so-patiently waiting for Lucy to reply. It's been a few days since she's moved to Oak Town, and he's picked her up for school every day but the first. He wasn't exactly sure why he still needed to get permission.
"Yes," they heard Lucy say. Sting rolled his eyed and pushed his way into the room, not bothering to let the maid open the door. He shut the door behind him and sighed.
"Those maids of yours are really pissing me off," he said, looking around the room. He didn't see Lucy. "Hey, where are you?" He saw that her bathroom light was on so he sneaked around the corner to check on her. Her door wasn't closed, so be figured it was okay. He wasn't expecting to see Lucy sitting beside the toilet. "Hey, are you sick?"
"I'm fine," Lucy said, shaking her head. She felt like she was going to throw up again. Actually, she did. Sting was beside her almost instantly, holding her hair back.
"You don't look fine to me," Sting commented. "Did you eat something funny last night?"
"I just ate a sandwich," Lucy said, sitting back down on the floor. She wiped her mouth off with the small towel she had. "Thanks for that."
"Maybe you shouldn't go to school," Sting said, shaking his head. "You don't look too good."
"No, I'll be fine," Lucy said almost too quickly. It was Friday, and she just knew that Gray would be coming. The maids wouldn't let him stay if she was sick. She had to go to school. "I'm already feeling better, anyways."
"That's because your stomach is empty. I can't have you throwing up your lunch later," Sting laughed. He helped Lucy stand up.
"I was sick yesterday morning, too," Lucy said. She went over and got her toothbrush and toothpaste out. "I was fine in school." She started brushing her teeth.
"Is there a bug going around?" Sting asked. Lucy shrugged. "Well as long as you think you're feeling up to it."
Lucy spit in the sink and rinsed her toothbrush off. "Yeah, I'll be fine. It's probably just a bug."
Aw, Lucy's sick :(
