"MAMA!" Oliver cried.

Elsa felt frozen, as if each of her limbs had turned to stone. She couldn't fathom what she was staring at, but the sight of Dark Jack, glaring down at them, as he held his crying son, his son that he doesn't even know belongs to him, made Elsa tremble in fear, anger and sadness. She could feel the palms of her hands start to tingle as her ice was starting to build up, but Elsa knew she shouldn't do anything with her powers, not when her baby boy was in a vulnerable spot.

"It's okay, baby. You'll be fine, I promise, I promise," Elsa called out shakily before turning to Jack. "Let go of him, please!"

Dark Jack chuckled, showing off his razor sharp teeth. "Make me."

"This isn't who you are, Jack! You would never hurt anyone, I know you wouldn't," Elsa had to bite back the tears to stay strong. She wasn't going to let herself seem weak in front of Jack, especially when her son is in grave danger.

"Who are you?" Dark Jack's eyes grew sharp. He has come across this young blonde twice now. The first time he saw her, it was as if she was looking for him and already knew him. He allowed her to get away. The second time he saw her, he had almost killed her, and he wished he had gotten the chance to. However, as hateful as Jack was, he had to admit, that this girl intrigued him.

Elsa kept her mouth shut. She couldn't say a thing, out of fear that he may hurt Oliver. She looked at her son again. The poor, poor child had tears streaming down his round cheeks as he listened to his mother, trying to keep his cries held back. Oliver looked so scared, and in this moment, Elsa felt like she had failed as a mother.

"Please, I'll tell you everything you want to know, just bring him down," Elsa said. She was beginning to grow more impatient. Her sadness was slowly melting away, being replaced with anger. She just wanted Oliver back in her arms, safe and sound.

Dark Jack laughed. "And what makes you think that I'll believe you?"

Without giving Elsa a chance to answer, he began to hold Oliver out, dangling him above the ground. Elsa gasped, and Oliver began to cry once more.

"If you really want him back, then you'll have to get him back yourself," Dark Jack sneered. "Remember when I almost killed you? When I pinned you down and almost made you breathe your last breath? Watch me do the same to this kid."

Elsa heard Anna and Kristoff gasp behind her. Jack's words sent a bolt of burning hot anger through her icy cold veins. Elsa has a lot of patience, and she is able to control her emotions to the best of her ability. However, if it involves her child, especially if her child is in danger, then that is a completely different story.

She. Had. Enough.

Elsa brought her arms out, and shot a powerful ray of ice directly at him, making sure not to hit Oliver. The ice took Jack by surprise; it wrapped around him tightly, the same time he let go of Oliver. The baby began to scream as he fell from the air, but Elsa quickly conjured up a soft pillow of snow in which Oliver safely landed in. Elsa ran to her son and picked him up, holding him tightly against her chest.

"M-Mama," Oliver cried.

"I'm so sorry, sweetheart," Elsa whispered against Oliver's hair. Her poor child was trembling, and Elsa had to bite her bottom lip to prevent herself from crying. "Are you hurt?"

Oliver shook his head.

Elsa pressed a light kiss on Oliver's forehead. "You'll be okay now, I promise you'll be okay."

Elsa turned around and met the frightened eyes of Anna and Kristoff. She handed Oliver into Kristoff's arms before turning to her sister. "Get Oliver inside, and bring me the vial, Anna."

"But Elsa, you'll be-"

"I'll be fine," Elsa assured her. "This is Jack we're dealing with. I...I have to end this today. So please hurry."

"How about the Guardians? Should I bring them here?" asked Anna.

"No, not yet. I can't have anybody else get hurt. I need to do this myself. I-I need to finish this off myself," said Elsa.

Anna and Kristoff both nodded. Elsa gave Oliver one last kiss on the cheek before Kristoff shielded his crying nephew in his arms. Anna and Kristoff rushed inside the house and closed the door behind them. Elsa turned back to Jack, and watched as he stared at her with immense hatred. She knew that she had given Jack quite the shock with her ice powers; this was the first time Elsa exposed her powers in front of Dark Jack. He stood there, still wrapped tightly in Elsa's ice, and Elsa stared back.

She wanted to be angry. She wanted to hate him, but she couldn't.

This was Jack Frost. Her Jack Frost.

Even though he wasn't himself, it still hurt to look at him because deep inside, Elsa knew that this dangerous young man with black eyes and black hair was the young man she fell so deeply in love with, the young man that shared the same love for her son, the young man that was ripped away from her life nearly a year ago.

She couldn't believe it has been almost a year since Pitch Black tore Jack away from her. The past few months have been so painful, and Elsa was just so sick and tired of living through it. She had to leave Arendelle for this, leave her people, and most of all, she had to act as if Jack never existed, just for the sake of their young son. Elsa just wanted this to end now.

"I don't want to hurt you, Jack," Elsa's voice began to tremble.

Dark Jack didn't say anything for a little bit. He sighed deeply and looked at Elsa, and behind his black eyes, Elsa saw them grow soft. His shoulders slumped and his wooden staff rested beside him. "Then don't. I don't want to hurt you either."

Elsa's eyes widened. "Wait, what?"

"The love that you showed to that little boy, I just...I can't do this anymore. I don't want to hurt anybody else anymore," Dark Jack said. "Now, can you release me from your powers so that we can talk?"

Elsa took a step forward, but stopped. "How do I know you're telling the truth?"

"Because I trust you, Elsa," Dark Jack said.

The moment Elsa heard him say her name, it made her chest ache. This was the first time Dark Jack had said her name, and the first time she had heard him say her name in almost a year. Her heart began to yearn for him so badly. She just wanted to love him again, for things to be normal again. And the sound of his voice saying her name brought all of that back.

"You...you know my name?" Elsa's voice was soft, barely above a whisper.

Jack nodded. "Of course I do. Now, do you trust me?"

For some reason Elsa couldn't understand, she felt her entire body drown in unfamiliar emotions. Was it because she was face to face with a young man with a dark soul, who she still loved inevitably? Or was it the sound of hearing Jack's voice saying her name for the first time in almost a year? Elsa stepped towards Dark Jack, brought her arms out and melted the strong rope of ice that was around Jack's body. Elsa looked at him, and immediately regretted doing so.

"You stupid, idiotic girl," Dark Jack grinned before grabbing his staff. "You really fell for that?"

Jack wasted no time before pointing his wooden staff at Elsa and releasing a dangerous stream of black sand and cold ice. Elsa's eyes widened as her body went into panic mode, but she made an ice shield to block herself before she got injured. Jack looked angry, but he was also intrigued. He never knew that Elsa had ice powers, just like him.

"Now I know why Pitch told me not to kill you...yet," Jack chuckled. "Your powers are just like mine. I would love to see your powers used with darkness. Why don't you join our side? It's so much more fun."

"Never," Elsa said between her teeth.

"Hmm, should've killed you when I had the chance," Jack hissed.

Then he disappeared. Elsa gasped before releasing her powers, making her vulnerable again. She looked all around her, trying to spot any sign of Jack, but he was nowhere to be found.

"ELSA!"

Elsa's entire body grew frigid when she heard Anna's scream. Elsa instantly burst into the house and ran through the hallway until she got to the door of Anna and Kristoff's bedroom. Elsa tried to shove herself inside, but the door was sealed shut.

"Don't hurt us please!" Kristoff's voice was heard on the other side of the door.

Jack chuckled darkly. "We'll see about that."

"Let us go!" Anna begged.

"Give me the child first," Jack demanded.

That was the final straw. She wasn't going to let anyone mess with her son, even her son's own father. Elsa stood back, placed her hands out and blasted the door open. She ran inside and almost collapsed at the sight in front of her when she saw Anna, Kristoff and Oliver all cowering in the corner of the room with a black sandy rope tied around all three of them. Oliver was tied against Anna's arms; his cheeks were red and puffy and he looked frightened to death.

Elsa almost surrendered right then and there, absolutely hating herself for putting her child through all this, and making him experience all this right in front of his own eyes.

Jack turned to Elsa and grinned. "Come to see the show?"

"Step away from them," Elsa said between clenched teeth.

A dark laugh emitted from Jack's lips, and it sent chills down everyone's spine. "Since I missed out on the opportunity of killing you when I had the chance, I think this will be a little more entertaining."

Jack kept his dark, daring gaze on Elsa before putting one hand out. He slowly began to squeeze his fist, and at first, Elsa had no idea what he was doing, until she heard her sister gasp in pain. As Jack squeezed his fist, the rope around their bodies began to get tighter.

And that's when Elsa snapped.

She threw her powers towards Jack in a way she has never used her powers before. Her ice and snow lunged towards him, and it sent him crashing through the window, and into the front yard. Elsa knew she couldn't afford to waste a single second. After releasing her family from the black rope, Elsa turned to Anna with desperation filling her blue eyes.

"Where is it?" Elsa asked. Her voice was trembling.

"Over there. Quickly, Elsa," Anna begged.

Elsa turned around, and there it was. The vial, complete with all three ingredients that she went through blood, sweat and tears to get, was sitting right there on top of the dresser. Elsa grabbed it in a speed that was incomparable to anything, before jumping through the broken window to follow Jack.

It was time to complete it all.

But she was trembling.

She felt sick.

She felt exhausted.

She was scared to death.

But after almost a year, she was holding the key to ending this living nightmare once and for all.

Once Elsa arrived outside, she saw Jack lying on the ground, struggling to get up. Elsa's powers had created an icy block around his hands and his feet from preventing him from escaping. She was so, so tired, and she was seconds away from collapsing on the ground. Her powers took so much out of her, but she knew this was now or never.

She looked over at Jack and saw Hell in his eyes.

"Just wait until I get out of these stupid locks," Jack fired. "I'm going to kill you with my own two hands."

Elsa said nothing before she began to make her way towards him. Jack continued to spew out hateful threats at Elsa, and each one broke her frozen heart more and more. She knows that this wasn't her Jack saying these words, but hearing the sound of his voice talk about the many ways he will rip her apart, made the inevitable tears come faster.

Elsa soon arrived by his side and crouched beside him. She looked down at Jack, and could feel a single tear roll down her face because behind the darkness, the black eyes and the black hair, she could still see the young man she was so deeply in love with, the young man who she had lost almost a year ago.

Jack's eyes grew narrow, and Elsa could see her reflection in the pool of black in his eyes. "What are you gonna do, kill me with those mediocre powers of yours?" he taunted.

Elsa gulped. She didn't say anything.

"Go ahead. I will still make your life a living nightmare," he sneered with a malicious grin.

Elsa's bottom lip trembled as she tried to push away his threatening words. She took one more look at Dark Jack and whispered, "I'm so sorry."

She pushed Jack's head hard against the ground before popping the vial open, and shoving the contents inside his mouth. The anger in Jack's face disappeared as his eyes grew wide. He started to choke as the liquid forced itself down his throat. Elsa quickly scrambled backwards as she watched Jack suffer on the ground.

He was gasping for air.

He couldn't breathe.

His throat was on fire.

Elsa tried her best to stay strong, she tried her best not to cry, but seeing Jack Frost struggle and gasp for his life right in front of her, pained her in a way she has never felt. He looked like he was in pain, like he was being set on fire right on the spot. The groans that left his lips sounded like he was being tortured alive, and it absolutely crushed Elsa to the bone. However, after a few more seconds, everything turned silent.

Elsa gasped.

Jack's hair was still black, and before he slowly shut his eyes, his eyes were still black as well.

"Jack?" Elsa crawled back over to him and grabbed his hand. He was ice cold to the touch, even colder than Elsa was used to. "Jack? Can you hear me?"

But he didn't respond, nor did he move. There was no sign of life at all.

Elsa was now trembling and her chest was heaving up and down. She looked down at the empty glass vial, and her exhales came out in shaky intervals. What was going on? She has done everything the Moon had told her to do. She had perfected the vial and its ingredients, and she made Jack drink it. He was supposed to turn back to normal now.

But nothing was happening.

"J-Jack, this isn't funny," Elsa couldn't hold her sadness back any longer. "Please wake up!"

But like the first time, nothing. She tried shaking him, but he didn't respond. Did she do something wrong? How come the vial wasn't working?

Elsa didn't realize it, but the Guardians appeared behind her. At first, none of them made a sound because they weren't sure exactly what they were looking at, or what had just happened. But then they heard quiet weeping from the young Queen, and watched as her back shuddered up and down with each heartbreaking sob.

"Jack...it's me. Please wake up, oh my god, please wake up..."

The sight in front of them was truly disheartening in every way. Jack Frost was lying stone cold on the ground, looking frozen and empty, while Queen Elsa of Arendelle sat beside his lifeless body, and each of their hearts broke as they watched the Queen mourn the Guardian's soul.

Poor Elsa! Why didn't the vial work? Is this the end of Dark Jack? How about Pitch? Ugh, so many questions!
