A/N: SURPRISE! Another update to a story I ended a few years ago! Alright let me explain, cause I've got a feeling a lot of people might be asking "What the F is going on?"
I've actually been thinking about adding a few bonus chapters for Kingdom Hearts: Cody's Story that involve Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay visiting a certain world based on a movie that I'm very fond of, for quite some time. In fact I've been really regretting not adding it as part of the story while I was originally writing it. As you could probably guess from the names of these chapters, the world was of course, the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl's world from Kingdom Hearts II, Port Royal. After thinking about it long and hard I finally decided to write Port Royal as part of this epic story. I feel rather bad for posting them after so long as there were several people who wanted to see Port Royal as part of Kingdom Hearts: Cody's Story, but for some reason I decided against doing it. And for that I apologize.
By the way, has anyone gotten the chance to finish Kingdom Hearts 3? If so, what did you think? I LOVED IT! It was pretty much everything I wanted it to be, and I'm so glad that I finally got to play it after 13 years of waiting for it! Anyway, here's my story's version of the Pirates of the Caribbean world. I hope you enjoy these FINAL chapter updates to this story. I know I said that with the epilogue, but I really do mean it this time.
P.S. These 3 Bonus Chapters take place in between Chapters 26 and 27.
Bonus Chapter - Captain Jack Sparrow
Gummi Ship
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but it feels really weird having feet again." Cody suddenly stated, looking down at his legs before focusing back on driving.
"How? We've lived our entire lives with legs and feet apart from those last couple hours as merpeople." Noah dryly asked while reading his spellbook.
Cody shrugged. "Eh, I guess swimming like fish just came more naturally to me then I thought."
"It was definately natural to me." piped up Bridgette happily. For someone who loves the ocean so much, Atlantica couldn't help but feel like a second home to the surfer girl.
"I guess it was fine." mumbled Lindsay, who had been drying her hair ever since the four junior heroes had left the oceanic world. "But the saltwater was like, totally bad for my hair." This made Cody and Bridgette chuckle and Noah roll his eyes.
The next few minutes were quiet as the four teens travelled through the brightly-colored reaches of space. It allowed them some time to think. Bridgette especially was thinking about just how much happier she had become since their run-in with Geoff inside of Monstro. Since the former kind-natured party boy turned Maleficent soldier had broken her heart back at Disney Castle. It was weird. It had only been a couple of weeks since those incidents took place. Bridgette had been afraid she would have a hard time getting over Geoff after everything he had done to her throughout the Aftermath and now. But...
The blonde turned to stare at Cody who was sitting right next to her. Whenever Bridgette was with Cody, she felt so much more at ease. Maybe that stemmed from their similar situations when it came to who they loved. After all, Gwen had cruelly turned Cody away back at Disney Castle in favor of going with Duncan. Now she felt a stab of anger at her former Total Drama Island friend. What is going on between those two, and how can she see Cody for anything more than the Sweetheart he is? Sure he acted like a bit a perv, but it turned out that he was also very brave, selfless, and he cared deeply for his friends. In Bridgette's mind, he was worth ten of Duncan. He was also very cute...
"Damn it why do I keep saying these things?!" Bridgette screamed internally as she thought back to instances like thinking Cody looked good shirtless, him holding onto her while they rode the dolphin, and her jealousy at Ariel hugging him closely after they beat Ursula. Not to mention her elation at seeing Cody bond with the same dolphin.
"Bridgette!" Lindsay hollared.
"Huh? What?" she stammered as she realized that Cody, Noah and Lindsay were all staring at her. "Sorry, did you say something?" It was then that she noticed that Cody's face was flushed.
"A-Are you okay?" Cody stuttered nervously. "You've b-been kinda s-s-staring at me for a few minutes."
This made the blonde surfer herself blush red and chuckle. "O-Oh, s-sorry! I was just thinking about something was all! I wasn't disturbing you, was I?"
A bashful Cody stammered back. "O-Oh no no no! I was just hoping you were alright was all!" Noah watched this exchange with a smug smirk while Lindsay struggled to stifle her giggles. After a lot of nervous laughing, Cody and Bridgette turned away from each other before they gave anything else away.
"Okay fine. Maybe I like Cody just a bit." Bridgette thought to herself with a smile. "Why should I keep denying it?"
Little did she know Cody was also thinking. "I hope I didn't stupidly give my feelings away there."
The two lovestruck teens were brought out of their thoughts by Noah suddenly saying. "Look. We're at the next world." Cody, Bridgette and Lindsay looked up to see a large grayish-blue world. It looked like another mostly ocean world aside from the many islands they could see dotted about it's surface.
"Oh good, it looks like we won't be doing more swimming here." said a relieved Lindsay.
With their romantic feelings now replaced by the spirit of adventure, Cody and Bridgette turned to grin at each other. It was time to explore a new world once again.
Port Royal - Rampart
After landing, Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay found themselves standing on a stone walkway with a wall ten feet high on their left lit by torches every ten feet, and a a stone barrier that stood about half that length on their right. The first thing the teens noticed was that it was nighttime. A full moon shined high above them and dark clouds passed by in the dark sky. Looking over the path's barrier Noah saw a palm tree jungle below them that appeared to go on for miles.
"This is not what I was expecting." Bridgette suddenly spoke with as her group walked forward.
"Yeah, this looks like some kind of fort." Cody agreed as he led his friends to the next part of their location.
"It feels sort of spooky here guys." Lindsay mumbled fearfully.
"I'm sure it's just your imagination." pointed out Noah as they exited the walkway and onto a balcony that was much more spaced out than the walkway. The wall behind them had about five or six large openings in them with vertical iron bars going through them, allowing Cody to see into the rooms they blocked. More torches dotted the walls in between the openings. A large stone archway with a bell hanging from it stood in the middle of the balcony at a slightly elevated position with another long barrier stretching out both sides of it. The teens saw numerous cannons sitting at equal spaces pointing out over the barrier.
"Whoa." Cody exclaimed softly as he ran up the steps toward the archway.
"What is it Cody?" Bridgette asked as she, Noah and Lindsay followed after their leader.
The four teens stopped and looked out at the world they landed in with awe. "Get a load of this view." said a smiling Cody.
The fort they stood on it turns out was part an island, and the fort itself was perched atop a hill that looked to be several hundred feet above ground. Below them was another huge jungle of palm trees that led toward the ocean. They could make out a couple of huge rock spires on the other side of the island, and what appeared to be a large town sat right next to a circular bay that led into this world's open ocean. From here, Cody could see several dimly lit lights down in the town, and even though it was dark, he could also see the silhouettes of many old-fashioned caravel ships docked in the town's harbor.
"Woooooow." awed Lindsay, her fear miraculously gone.
As Bridgette admired the scenery, she couldn't shake the feeling that this world gave off. It was a dark and forbodding feeling. Not as powerful as the feeling she got from people like Jafar, Hades or Ursula, but still slightly more powerful than the other worlds she had been to. It was all around her, and she couldn't help but think aloud. "This world is..."
"Kinda different..." Cody finished for her, making the surfer turn to him. "That's what you were gonna say right?" he smiled at her, making her face flush.
"He really knows me too well at this point." Bridgette thought to herself before smiling.
Cody looked down at the bay below again, and it was then that he noticed something that he hadn't before. Drifting in from the sea was the silhouette of a large black ship, with black sails that had numerous holes in them. It was approaching the town harbor. It was then that the keyblade master saw a few puffs of smoke appear on the ship's left side, and a faint boom echoed across the night. His eyes widened in horror as he heard a rushing sound heading straight for his team.
"GET DOWN!" Cody screamed as he dashed over and shoved his three guardians to the ground.
Just in the nick of time! A cannonball had slammed into the bell archway and completely demolished it before a second one collided with the right side of the barrier, destroying a cannon in the process. Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay stayed down as they heard more explosions around them as the black ship's attacks kept coming.
"What the hell was that?!" a shocked Noah exclaimed as the attack stopped momentarily.
"Cannon fire!" Cody replied as he and his guardians returned to their feet.
"That was close. Thanks Cody." said an appreciative Lindsay. Cody grinned and nodded.
"Sure thing. I wouldn't let anything happen to you guys."
Another cannonball slammed into the wall close by, sending the four junior heroes back to the ground. "Damn it! What the hell is that ship doing?" Bridgette hollared over the noise. "Cody, it seems like they're targeting this fort, we have to get out of here!"
"Right!" agreed Cody as he looked around and saw a set of stairs ahead. He and his guardians ran over to them and saw that they seemed to lead toward the village down below. Cody could also hear the voices and shouts of the fort's soldiers as they scrambled about to counterattack the ship's ambush attack.
"Come on! Let's get out of here and head towards town!" Cody yelled. He, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay dashed down the rampart's stairs as they did their best to avoid any enemy fire that came their way.
Port Royal - Harbor
Meanwhile, the instigators of the attack had already made port at this town's harbor. The harbor square itself was a large open area with many boxes set up along the corners, a old-time crank contraption that held a net full of cargo, and a set of docks that led toward the bay, where the black-sailed ship responsible for the cannonfire was now docked.
Standing along the harbor square was what looked to be around twenty men, all dressed in pirate getups. Each one carried weapons ranging from pirate swords and knives, to axes and crossbows. However, it was the one standing in front of them that had the most unique appearance.
This man was clearly this pirate crew's captain, and he had shoulder-length brown hair, blue eyes and and a wiry brown beard. He wore an extravagant black hat with a black feather sticking out of it on his head, a long grayish-black coat with cuffs on the sleaves, a dirty gray undershirt, a fingerless glove on his left hand, dark pants, brown boots, and a brown belt across his waist that had a eighteenth-century pistol and a pirate rapier holstered to it.
The captain stood grinning at a teenaged girl who stood a few feet in front of his crew. She was asian, and had long raven hair and gray eyes, and she wore a black croptop and jacket around her waist, as well as gray shorts and black gloves and shoes. The girl remained calm as she grinned at the menacing pirate crew before her.
"So you're looking for Aztec treasure, huh?" Heather asked the pirate captain.
"Aye." replied Captain Barbossa calmly in a usual pirate accent. "Thanks to the curse put on it, we're neither among the livin' nor the dead."
That confused Heather. She had been told by Maleficent to negotiate with this captain so they could search for this world's keyhole, but she wished that the evil fairy might've told her a little bit more about this guy, just in case things went south and she was forced to defend herself.
"Really? You look like normal, violent, smelly pirates to me." Heather said smugly
Barbossa chuckled darkly. He admired this young girl's attitude. "Ah, but lass. Ye should see us in the moonlight..." On cue, Heather looked up into the sky and saw a cloud covering the moon. A minute later, the cloud moved on and the full moon was visible once again. Looking back at Barbossa, Heather recoiled in shock and slight revulsion.
Barbossa and his crew stood bathed in the light of the moon, but their appearences had changed drastically. Their skin had become sunken, and in some places even removed, as Heather could see bones, full teeth and ribcages amongst the pirates. It was like they had all become zombies or skeletons. Some of their clothes had become tattered along with the transformations.
"Jeez." Heather moaned. "I see what you mean now."
"Not exactly a pretty sight is it?" Barbossa laughed darkly.
"Honestly? No, you're all pretty revolting."
Barbossa laughed out loud at this. "I like ya girly! Ye got spunk!" Another cloud passed by the moon above, so Barbossa and his crew returned to their normal, human forms. "Now, what're these Heartless o' yours that you wanna offer me?"
Heather snapped her fingers with an evil grin, and about five Soldier Heartless appeared behind her, shocking several members of Barbossa's crew, while he himself looked curious.
"These creatures are called Heartless. They go around looking to steal the hearts of people, but someone who has a good handle on darkness can control them. Someone like me, and someone like you."
Barbossa looked intrigued. "Aye, go on."
"So these are my terms. You help me find this world's keyhole, and I will let you use the Heartless. That way you can use them to help find this last piece of cursed gold that you need." Heather smiled as she continued. "A plan that benefits both us, don't you think."
The teen reached out her hand. Barbossa thought about it for only a moment before he shook the girl's hand. "We have an accord, young Heather. Too long has this curse plagued meself and me crew. I'll do whatever it takes to lift it." This news made Heather smirk.
"Excellent." she replied victoriously before becoming more serious. "Just one last thing." This made Barbossa frown slightly. "There's these four kids, about my age, who like me aren't from around here. The powers they use can defeat the Heartless, and I'll bet that since your cursed forms are darkness-based, they could work on you too if you ever fight them in that state."
Far from looking fearful though, Barbossa grinned. "A match for Barbossa ya say?"
Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay had finally made it to the harbor. Luckily for them the cannon fire seemed to stop following them as soon as they left the rampart, so Bridgette must've been right about the fort being the black ship's main target.
"Whose that up ahead?" Lindsay asked aloud as soon as they entered the square.
Cody looked ahead to what appeared to be about twenty people, most of which were dressed up in pirate garb. He gasped when he saw who was standing behind the pirates. Five Soldier Heartless, and someone from Total Drama that they hadn't seen since Disney Castle.
"Heather!" cried Cody as he summoned his keyblade. He and his guardians stopped in front of the pirates and got into defensive positions.
"Speak of the devil." Heather groaned as she glared at Cody.
"What're you doing here, Heather?" Lindsay asked angrily.
The queen bee scoffed. "Please Lindsiot, like I'm gonna tell you that."
Bridgette turned her attention to what looked like the pirate captain. Almost immediately the familiar sense of darkness struck her as she looked at him. This guy was bad news. The aura he gave off was about as strong as Hades' or Jafar's. "Watch yourselves guys, that captain is different from everyone else!"
Cody looked over to Barbossa at Bridgette's warning. "You mean him?" he asked, to which Bridgette nodded. It was then that he saw the black pirate ship that he saw in the bay docked right behind him. The tech geek frowned in understanding.
"Are you the captain of that ship that fired it's cannons at the fort up there?"
Barbossa grinned evilly. "Aye. That I am lad." he replied with no remorse. "Are these friends o' yours, Heather?" he asked the queen bee.
Heather gave a sarcastic laugh. "They wish. They're actually the losers I just told you about. The losers who go around destroying the Heartless and messing up our plans."
Cody glared at Heather and angrily replied. "Stop calling us losers, Heather! The names are Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay! And don't you forget it!" Both Heather and Noah rolled their eyes at Cody taking the former's bait.
Barbossa approached the four teens with a threatening look. "That we won't lad. And we'll engrave them on your tombstones, to be sure." Cody, Noah, Lindsay, Bridgette and even Heather felt a cold chill run down their spines from Barbossa's reply.
"That got dark quick." Bridgette whispered fearfully.
Barbossa then turned to his crew. "Men! four o' you stay here and indulge these cullies! The rest o' ya bring me that medallion!"
"AYE!" cried Barbossa's crew as sixteen of them ran toward a bridge that led toward the town, and the other four, plus the five Soldiers ran toward Cody's team with their weapons drawn.
"So they're looking for treasure huh?" Noah stated. "Figures."
"Let's worry about that later!" pointed out Cody. "We've got a fight on our hands!" Barbossa laughed loudly as he and Heather walked away toward the former's ship in the distance. Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay ran over as the pirates and Heartless charged ahead.
The keyblade master easily defeated two of the Soldiers while Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay disposed of the other three. This just left the four pirates, each of which held a different weapon: One a sword, one a knife, one a crossbow, and one an ax.
"Let's each take one." Cody gave the order as he ran over to challenge the sword pirate. This left Bridgette to fight the ax pirate, Noah the knife pirate, and Lindsay the crossbow pirate.
Five minutes into the fight though, the teens could tell something was wrong. Bridgette had jabbed her trident into her opponent's chest, but it didn't even hurt him to her utter shock. The same thing happened when Noah shot a Fira spell at his enemy, and whenever Lindsay reflected an attack from the crossbow pirate's weapon, the ricocheted attack did no damage to the pirate. The pirate Cody was fighting swung his sword down, which the keyblade wielder was able to block. But the pirate then kicked him in the chest, sending him tumbling toward his friends who had also been pushed back.
"Cody! Are you alright?" Bridgette exclaimed fearfully.
"Yeah." Cody grunted. "But why are our attacks not working on these guys?"
"Are they... what's the word? Immobile?" Lindsay piped up after healing their injuries.
"You mean immortal?" Noah growled in frustration. "I don't know. This is kind of aggrevating though."
"Damn it!" Cody cried out. "I don't think we can beat these guys."
"Aye, whaddya expect, Shortie!" laughed the sword pirate.
Suddenly the air around them brightened up a bit. Looking up Cody saw that the moon had come out from a final dark cloud passing by. The night sky was now completely cloudless, allowing the full moon to bathe them in it's light. He then heard Lindsay shriek.
"What the hell?" Noah cried out in shock too, making Cody look back at the pirates. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, the pirates had all turned into skeletal versions of themselves. What was going on?
"You best be sayin' your prayers." said the ax pirate.
The knife pirate looked down at himself and exclaimed. "No fair! The moon came out!" The pirates looked up at the moon to confirm this. "Whadda we do now?"
The crossbow pirate answered. "We beat 'em now before they realize they can hurt us like this!" The other three pirates looked at him with wide eyes while Cody's team raised their eyebrows.
"Wow..." Noah smirked. "You're kind of a dumbass, aren't you?"
"Yeah man, thanks for the tip." Cody added with his own grin before charging after the sword pirate.
"You idiot!" shouted the flustered pirate to his crewmate before Cody started wailing on him with his keyblade.
"Thundara!" cried Noah as used the upgraded thunder spell he learned at Atlantica to completely shock the knife pirate. This made the pirate start convolsing as he struggled to run away from the bookworm's next attack. Two more fire spells later, the pirate burst apart. "Geez, wasn't expecting that." Noah mumbled to himself.
Bridgette used her aquaspheres to throw the ax pirate off his balance before sending him up into the air with a geyser attack. She finished him off by jumping up to deliver a handful of attacks with her trident. Lindsay also reflected the shots from her opponent's crossbow back at him, which stunned him enough for Noah to finish him off with a Blizzara spell. Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay ran over to help Cody, but the tech geek gave one last powerful swing that finished off the last enemy. They had won the battle.
"Whew!" exhaled Cody. "I can't believe we won that fight."
"I can't either." agreed Bridgette. "What's up with those pirates? It seems like whenever they're bathed in moonlight they become skeletons."
"And they can only be beaten in those forms it seems." added Noah.
"Um guys!" Lindsay yelled, making her friends turn to her in surprise. "Shouldn't we go after those other pirates before they hurt someone?!"
Cody, Bridgette and Noah gasped in realization. "Oh yeah! They went into town to look for a medallion!" exclaimed Bridgette.
"Let's hurry!" Cody ordered as he and his guardians rushed over to the bridge that led to this island's town.
Port Royal - Town
Inside the town, numerous pirates were running around and pilaging from every store they came across. Searching everywhere for the medallion their captain ordered them to find. One pirate with a long beard and wearing a red bandana chased after a terrified woman wearing a old-timey nightdress. Before he could reach her though, he cried out in pain as something sharp slammed into his back. The pirate fell to the ground unconscious.
Someone had run over to grab the hatchet from the cursed pirate's back. He was a handsome young man who looked about twenty, his shoulder-length brown hair was slicked back in a ponytail, and he had brown eyes and a faint mustache and goatee. He wore a v-neck, bishop-sleeved white shirt that exposed his chest, gray pants, grey knee-length socks and brown buckled shoes. He carried a sword in his right hand as he pocketed his hatchet.
Another pirate ran at the man with his blade before he counterattacked and knocked the pirate out. It was then that he heard a familiar voice.
"Where are you taking me? Let me go!"
The man's heart stopped at that voice. He swiftly turned around and ran into the next alley to see a pirate carrying a young woman of at least eighteen or nineteen across his shoulder. The girl had a pretty face, long dirty-blonde hair and brown eyes, and she wore an elegant gold dress with white lace on the sleeves. This woman was beating the pirate's back in a vain attempt to free herself from his clutches.
"Elizabeth!" the man shouted, making the woman stop struggling and look back at him.
"Will!" cried Elizabeth with relief.
"Elizabeth!" hollared Will once again as he charged after the pirate. "Stop!" He came to halt however when a group of strange creatures materialized before him. They were rather small, and completely black in color with lifeless yellow eyes, antennas on their heads and sharp claws.
"Will, no!" Elizabeth cried as the pirate and her turned down the next alley.
Will readied his sword, but a sense of fear had frozen him as the creatures loomed closer. "What are they?" he whispered to himself.
"Heartless!" came the voice of someone unfamiliar. Will looked up to see Cody, Bridgette, Lindsay and Noah run forward with their weapons drawn. They stopped in front of Will to face the creatures called Heartless with no fear on their faces.
"You take cover. We'll handle them." Cody told Will. Even though the young man was able to stop some of the pirates, he knew nothing about these Heartless. Reluctantly, he nodded and ran over out of the way to let these strangers handle this fight.
Defeating the Shadows took virtually no time. Will stood amazed as he watched these kids defeat the Heartless rather soundly. Almost as if they had done this sort of thing before. Before he could run over to congratulate them though, he looked over to see about a dozen skeletal pirates running over to Cody's position.
"More baddies guys!" gasped Lindsay as she and the other three turned to face the oncoming pirates. It was then that a new breed of Heartless appeared before them. Three vase-shaped Heartless appeared with the pirates. They were blue on the bottom and black on the top, with black faces, yellow eyes and small squiggly legs and tails. The Heartless took this opportunity to shoot something into the air.
The teens looked up to see small cannonballs falling toward them. Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay dodged as their enemies closed in on them. "Watch for the shadows!" Noah called out to his friends. "Make sure those pirates can't use them for protection"
"Right!" yelled Cody and Bridgette as they attacked two pirates together. A Cannon Gun Heartless was about to launch another attack until Will ran over to attack it. After several attacks with his sword and hatchet, the heartless was defeated, and at the same time that Cody and Bridgette beat their respective enemies.
"Whoa! I didn't know you could fight!" said an impressed Cody, making Will grin.
"You're all quite skilled too."
"We have another twelve enemies to beat guys." said a smiling Bridgette. "Let's clean things up!"
Cody, Bridgette and Will ran in to help Lindsay and Noah finish up the battle. Eventually, the five had defeated all of the Heartless and pirates that had invaded the town. Cody breathed a sigh of relief as he made his keyblade disappear. He turned to see Noah grin and give him the thumbs up. Will approached the four teens who had come to his aid.
"Well done!" Will congratulated.
"You too." said Cody gratefully. "Thanks for helping us take care of the bad guys."
"I admit my own fencing skills are not to be ashamed of, but I had never faced foes like those creatures before."
"Don't worry about it. Most people we meet aren't familiar with the Heartless." said Noah.
Bridgette and Lindsay were staring at this man they saved with flushed faces, something that didn't go unnoticed by Cody and Noah. "Uhh, girls are you alright?" wondered Cody in confusion.
Will looked confused at the two blondes as well, which just made Bridgette and Lindsay's hearts skip a beat. "HE'S SO HOOOT!" They mentally screamed together. Cody looked on in slight jealousy at Bridgette drooling over Will before Noah decided to bring everyone out of their thoughts.
"Anyway, that pirate took off with your friend right?" Everyone turned to the black mage, particularly Will. "We heard you yelling for someone named Elizabeth before we found you, so I'm guessing that was you right?"
"Yes, those Heartless creatures stopped me from going after her." Will informed them. "I have to save her. Will you help me?"
Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay all looked at each other and nodded. They turned back to Will as Cody answered. "Of course, their captain is working with an enemy of ours anyway, so we need to go after them too."
Will smiled in appreciation. "Thank you. I'm William Turner, but call me Will. What're your names?"
"Well, I'm Lindsay. This is our leader, Cody and that's Noah and Bridgette." Lindsay happily introduced everyone.
"We'll have to return to the harbor." Noah informed everyone. "Those pirates' ship was docked there, and now that we've beaten all of the pirates in the town, they'll probably want to get out of here with Elizabeth."
"Let's head back then." said Cody as he led Noah, Bridgette, Lindsay and Will out of town.
Port Royal - Harbor
They were too late however. As Will and Cody's team entered the harbor square and ran down the docks, they could see the black-sailed ship pulling away from the harbor and out into the bay. Will and Cody stopped at the end of the dock and watched with sadness as Barbossa's ship pulled away.
"No..." whispered Will sadly. "We're too late..."
"Do you know where they're going Will?" Lindsay asked softly. Will just shook his head.
"I don't know... and now that they've sailed, I'll never be able to find her." a defeated Will sank to his knees.
Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay looked at each other uncomfortably. It was then that a new voice suddenly called over to them.
"Then she's long gone mate!"
Shocked, Will returned to his feet at the sound of that voice and he and the junior heroes turned toward the ship that was anchored right behind them. Standing on it's plank was a man, and clearly another pirate just by the look of him. He had tanned skin, brown eyes covered in kohl, long, dreadlocked brown hair, a mustache and a beard tied in two braids. The man wore red bandana with a bead tied to a silver coin on his head, a long-sleeved v-neck white shirt underneath a dark-blue waistcoat, black pants, brown boots, a belt with a cutlass, pistol and compass tied to it, and a fingerless glove on his right hand. The pirate spoke in a deep, rather raspy voice again.
"The Black Pearl, she's nigh uncatchable. Best find yourself another girl mate." The pirate finished before walking onto the ship.
"You." Will exclaimed.
"Someone you know?" Bridgette asked.
"You can say that." Will answered her before they all approached the ship. "What're you doing aboard the Interceptor, Sparrow? She's off limits to civilians!"
"Ah fortunate enough that I am going to commendere 'er, then!" replied the pirate honestly. "She'll make a fine pirate ship."
Cody's eyes began to glow. "A real pirate!" he exclaimed with excitement in his voice. This made his friends stare at him.
The dreadlocked pirate turned to grin down at the four teenagers. "Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please."
Cody didn't know what it was, but there was something very cool about this pirate Jack Sparrow. He almost reminded him of a classic, rugged and edgy movie hero who had a strong craving for adventure. Cody had always admired characters like that, and when he was a kid he dreamed of being a pirate and sailing the open seas in search of buried treasure and adventure. Looking at Jack almost made him feel like a kid again. Lindsay couldn't help but giggle at Cody's expression, while Noah smacked him in the back of the head to snap him out of his daydreaming.
Will meanwhile, had been thinking. After a minute, he made a rather bold proposition. "Take us with you. Help me track down the Black Pearl and save Miss Swann."
"Huh?" gasped Cody, Noah, Bridgette and Lindsay simultaneously, while Jack's eyes grew comically wide with confusion.
"I got you out of that cell, Jack." Will reminded Sparrow. "Do this, and your debt is repaid."
"Ummm, what cell?" Noah couldn't help but ask. "Did we miss something between you two?"
After a moment, Jack finally spoke. "If you're intending to brave all hasten and so win the fair lady's heart..."
"Do you like Elizabeth, Will?" Lindsay asked innocently, only for Will to blush. This made the blonde smile brightly. "Awww, that so cute!"
"... Like I was saying, you'll have to do it alone mate. I see no profit in it for me." Jack finished his statement, much to Cody's disappointment.
"Aww, come on Captain." pleaded the keyblade master. This made Jack look at the boy curiously.
"Are you sure you and can sail her on your own?" Will asked almost smugly as he looked at the Interceptor.
"Also, can you handle an entire crew of cursed pirates by yourself?" Bridgette wondered next. She could tell that Cody really wanted to go on this pirate ship just from his behavior, and if she could help him fulfill whatever childhood dream he had while also going after Barbossa, then she was willing to kill two birds with one stone.
This made Jack Sparrow start to think things over. After a moment he stepped up onto the plank to look down at Will and the four teens. "You all make good points. What're yer names?"
"Cody. And this is Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay." replied Cody.
"And I'm Will Turner." This name made Jack raise an eyebrow.
"That'd be short for William I imagine? Good strong name. No doubt named for your father, eh?"
That statement surprised Will. "Yes." he answered. Did that mean that Jack knew his father?
"Uh huh..." Jack appeared to be pondering something before he spoke. "Well Mr. Turner, I've changed me mind. You're all welcome to come aboard." the captain informed Cody's team and Will as he stepped aside so they could walk up the plank.
"Yes!" Cody cheered as quietly as he could, which made Noah roll his eyes and the two blondes giggle.
"Thanks Sparrow." Will said as he passed by and onto the ship.
"CAPTAIN Sparrow, again, if you please." said Jack as Cody, Bridgette, Noah and Lindsay stepped up next. "You there, Cody right?" he suddenly stopped Cody's team.
"Y-Yeah?" Cody replied in surprise.
"What do you make of this Will?"
The tech geek turned to his friends, who just shrugged in response. "Well, we only just met him. But he seems cool enough." This answer seemed to satisfy Jack as he turned to see Will looking out over the sea at the Black Pearl disappearing into the darkness.
"I think my luck is about to change." the captain whispered to himself before addressing the keyblade hero again. "Very well Mr. Cody and Noah, and Miss Bridgette and Lindsay, you and Mr. Turner get us ready to make way. I've got some effects to liberate." Jack then walked down the plank and down the dock toward town.
"Okay, now that he's gone." Noah spoke up. "Why does Jack walk like a girl?" This made everyone snicker.
Cody walked up toward the Interceptor's bow and looked out across the dark ocean. He was getting excited. He was about to become a real pirate. A childhood fantasy was about to become a reality. Of course Cody wanted to help Will save Elizabeth, but this feeling was so overwhelming for the moment. Cody couldn't wait to set sail.
It took about ten minutes for Captain Jack Sparrow to return, and another five for Cody, Bridgette, Will, Noah and Lindsay to get ready to leave port. Slowly, the Interceptor pulled out of Port Royal with Jack at the helm, and the crew of six ventured out into the sea to search for the Black Pearl.
And that's Bonus Chapter 1 done, what did you all think?
Since Pete was not featured in this story, his part will be taken over by Heather. And unlike Pete, she actually has a reason for wanting to form an alliance with Barbossa. What will she do once she finds the keyhole? Also, hopefully Cody having a childhood fascination with pirates makes sense for his character. I don't know, I just thought someone like Cody would have an excitement for adventure on the high seas. Also, since these chapters take place in the middle of the story, Cody and Bridgette will still be in the developing stages of their feelings for each other, so anyone hoping for lots of moments between the two, sorry but they won't explored to heavily here.
Anyway, I think that's all for now. See you all in Part 2 - The Curse of the Black Pearl.
