This episode of Death Battle is written by Zivon96.
Zivon: They are DC's guardians of the night, men without super powers who rely solely on skill and physical condition combined with a specially designed arsenal in order to defend their cities.
DAM: Bruce Wayne, the Dark Knight of Gotham City, and Oliver Queen, The Arrow of Starling City. To compare these two heroes without powers, we're going to be comparing their most recent incarnations: The Dark Knight Trilogy and The Arrow TV series.
Hazzamo: He's DAM, that's Zivon, and I'm Hazzamo, and we're here to look at their weapons, armour and abilities to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Zivon: Gotham City. A city rife with crime and corruption, where murder, bribery and coercion are all commonplace to anyone who wants to survive and succeed.
DAM: Standing out from this trend was the Wayne family, who, through their company of Wayne Enterprises, tried to re-make Gotham. Someone apparently didn't tell them that they were living in a Batman movie, however, and so their good natured desire to help people got them shot in the street right in front of their young son Bruce.
Hazzamo: Bruce Wayne was merely eight years old when he watched his parents be gunned down in front of him, and at that moment, he was forever changed. When he returned to Gotham as an adult after studying abroad at Princeton University, Bruce made an attempt to murder the man who killed his parents, Joe Chill, only to watch the man be killed by the Falcone crime family who he had testified against.
Zivon: After telling his long-time friend Rachel Dawes about his plan to murder Chill, and getting his ass beat by mobsters, Bruce realized that he was seeking revenge, as opposed to justice, and realizing that he could not bring justice to the guilty, Bruce fled the city, stowing away aboard a cargo ship bound for parts unknown. He couldn't help the city as Bruce Wayne, but perhaps someone out there could help him.
DAM: Unfortunately, Bruce really wasn't good at keeping his head down, and in China he was arrested and thrown in jail, and for the theft of Wayne Enterprises property! While he was in Chinese jail, Bruce proved to be a bit of a troublemaker, beating the ever loving hell out of his fellow inmates. Seeing this, the guards at the prison took the only logical approach and locked him up tight to protect the other prisoners. It was while locked up that Bruce received the most important visit of his life.
Hazzamo: A man named Henri Ducard approached Bruce in his cell and gives him the offer of a lifetime: membership in the elite vigilante group known as the League of Shadows and mentorship under Ra's Al Ghul himself. Bruce accepted the offer and climbed to the top of a mountain to reach the League's base and begin his training. While there he mastered ninjitsu and the art of stealth, as well as learning to master his own fear through taking a psychedelic mountain flower that allowed him to face his own phobia of bats that he had held since childhood.
Zivon: Bruce also mastered stealth during his time with the League, learning it so well that he was able to hide amongst the other members of the league while exposed to hallucinogens, and even outsmart his own mentor, Ducard.
DAM: Unfortunately, Bruce would soon find out that the League had another motive for taking him in. They knew he had influence in the city of Gotham, a city they intended to destroy as a step toward wiping out all evil in the world. After a fairly tearful goodbye as he refused to commit murder, Bruce sadly bid farewell to the people who taught him everything he knew... after burning down their facility and pretty much everyone inside except for Ducard and a few others who escaped. But he totally doesn't kill you guys.
Zivon: Returning to Gotham after his training, Bruce embarked on a path of vigilante justice, beating up criminals and taking it to the mob with the help of several gadgets pilfered from his own company, including his trademark Batarangs, grappling gun, smoke bombs, mini explosives, a mini transceiver that can summon bats and even an encrypted communicator that links back to Alfred Pennyworth, his butler and assistant, as well as Lucius Fox who supplied him with all his gadgets, both of whom have been known to assist him in combat situations. Alfred can advise him in combat, while Lucius always knows just which gadget to use in any situation.
Hazzamo: He was also outfitted with his trademark Batsuit, a multilayered suit designed to protect the user from multiple outside threats. The first layer is made to keep the user comfortable and regulate temperature to a comfortable level in any conditions. The second layer is a Kevlar bi-weave that can stop any slashing weapons and will stop a bullet or piercing attack so long as it's not a straight shot.
Zivon: The cowl of the Batsuit is also made from graphite and acts as a helmet that protects Bruce from most attacks, and also hides his communicator in its pointy ears. Also contained in the cowl is a high powered listening device that can allow Batman to eavesdrop on conversations from a distance. He's also hacked into the world's cell phone network, allowing him to track anyone through triangulation imaging system that creates a digital 3d map.
DAM: Wait, he can see everything I do because I have a phone.
Zivon: Pretty much.
DAM: ...Shit, this guy's more vigilant than Santa Claus.
Hazzamo: DAM, shut up. Back on track, the Batsuit's gloves also have scallops on the forearms that can catch melee weapons and can actually be fired as a ranged weapon.
DAM: Finally, Batman's cape is made from memory cloth, another invention of Lucius Fox, allowing it to be soft normally, but rigid when electrical current is run through it. There's probably a dick joke I can make there, but I think I'll skip it.
Hazzamo: I think that's the best we're getting out of him... Anyway, when the cape is made rigid, it acts as a glider for Batman, allowing him to fly for short distances.
Zivon: During his time as a vigilante, Batman has run across the worst of the worst that Gotham City could offer him. He's beaten the Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul at the same time, beating not only a madman but the man who trained him. Not only that, but he somehow managed to outwit the Joker, despite the fact that he always seemed to be one step ahead of him, even through his insanity.
DAM: Unfortunately, the Joker's plan managed to turn the entire city against him, framing Batman as the man who killed Harvey Dent, the city's other great hero. After this, Bruce hung up his hood and became a recluse, rarely leaving his mansion, and probably not showering. He kept this up for eight years. But you can't keep a good vigilante down, and after psyching himself back up, he was ready to take down Gotham's newest threat: Bane.
*Bane hoists Batman into the air and brings him down back first onto his knee*
DAM: Well, at least he tried...
Hazzamo: With his spine badly damaged in the fight, Bruce was taken to a prison pit in the desert, the place Bane was raised. While there, he was forced to watch as his city burned under Bane's iron fisted rule. Though since Bane had left him unwatched, Bruce began to heal, having the prison's inmates repair his spine, and re-training himself to fight as the Dark Knight of Gotham.
Zivon: Bruce eventually managed to escape the pit, and somehow brought himself back to Gotham just in time to have a rematch with Bane, and stop the renewed plans of the League of Shadows that was being carried out by him, and the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul.
DAM: During his time as a vigilante, Batman has done some pretty incredible shit. He's hoisted a man who weighed easily two hundred pounds with his weapons and armour over a Cliffside single handed. He's survived a drop out of a four story building while on fire, he's fought through Scarecrow's fear gas, beat his own mentor Ra's Al Ghul, and developed a cure for said fear toxin, all in year one. He's also beaten the Joker in hand to hand combat and in the battle for Gotham, saved Commissioner Gordon's family and put down the madman, Harvey Dent, driven insane after the loss of his girlfriend and half his face.
Hazzamo: Finally, Batman re-taught himself to fight, re-assembled his arsenal and re-taught Gotham's criminals to fear him in just one night, recovered from a broken back, escaped what is considered the most brutal prison in the world, re-taught himself to fight AGAIN, and managed to put Bane in his place and save his city from nuclear destruction, somehow escaping the ensuing explosion despite being in the aircraft that carried the bomb out of the city.
Zivon: With all that said and done, however, Bruce is far from perfect. For one, his mental state is... clearly unstable...
DAM: He lost his parents when he was eight, tried to murder the guy who did it, and now spends his nights beating the shit out of people while dressed as a bat. He's batshit.
Hazzamo: Not only that, but because of a fall from a building while fighting Two Face, Bruce has to rely on a high tech leg brace in order to walk without a cane.
Zivon: Plus, it's embarrassing how many people have guessed his secret identity. Pretty much the only villains who don't know it are the Joker and Scarecrow. Hell, one random cop managed to correctly guess it just by looking at what he could see of his face. Also, speaking of Scarecrow, he never really caught him, did he?
DAM: But even with that, he's still out there kicking ass and taking names. Why? Well...

Zivon: His name is Oliver Queen, and his mission is to save his city.
DAM: However, he wasn't always that way, for twenty two years, he enjoyed a life of luxury and debauchery, a billionaire playboy who was the desire of every woman who wasn't a lesbian.
Hazzamo: That would all change, however, on a fateful ride aboard his family's yacht, the Queen's Gambit. Thanks to sabotage by his father Robert Queen's business partners, the ship went down in the North China Sea, with Oliver and his father being the only survivors.
Zivon: Desperate to have his wrongs righted, Robert confessed to Oliver that he had been a part of a plot against the city, urging Oliver to survive and make it back home in time to stop said plot. His sins confessed, Robert took the easy way out, putting a bullet in his brain after ensuring his son could not do the same.
DAM: The next five years would be spent turning Oliver from your average playboy into a badass, as he was stranded on the island of Lian Yu, or Purgatory. While on the Island, Oliver would meet the two men and woman who would build him up into the sharp shooting vigilante he would soon become. The first was Yao Fei, a former Chinese soldier who was an expert with a bow and who saved Oliver from the clutches of a terrorist organization, sending him out to meet his next teacher.
Hazzamo: That teacher would be the one and only Slade Wilson, a member of the Australian Special Forces who would begin teaching Oliver hand to hand combat in the form of Escrima stick fighting and CQC. Slade would then aid Oliver in rescuing his third and final teacher, Shado, Yao Fei's daughter who would complete his archery training. By the time Oliver got off the island he was able to shoot and hit nearly any target, even while both he and the target were moving.
Zivon: Upon returning to Starling City, Oliver began his crusade to save the city and right his father's wrongs, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake as he did, finally getting to the heart of the conspiracy, a plot by the father of his closest friend to level part of the city using a device that would cause an earthquake. The mastermind behind it all, master assassin, archer and businessman Malcolm Merlyn, the Dark Archer.
DAM: Unfortunately, the earthquake killed Oliver's best friend Tommy Merlyn and drove him into exile. Man, can either of these guys catch a break?
Hazzamo: Oliver would eventually return to his city with a new goal: he wouldn't just be a killer, but in honour of his friend, he would become a true hero. With that in mind, he took up the mantle of The Arrow.
Zivon: The Arrow is a tough fighter and a survivor thanks to his years on a hostile island. His time there allowed him to train himself to reach peak physical condition, and combined with the constant training regimen he adopted when he came home, he's become even stronger. His training didn't stop there, however.
DAM: Two years after he got back to civilization, Oliver's friends and family were confronted by the League of Assassins, led by, big fucking shock, Ra's Al Ghul. Man, what is it with this guy and heroes without powers? Can't he just leave them alone? Anyway, to try and get Ra's off his back, Oliver challenged him to a duel. He climbed to the top of a snow covered mountain and engaged in a moment of shirtless fanservice – I mean a duel to the death with Ra's. All his training had led up to this one moment.
*Ra's stabs Oliver through the chest and kicks him off a frozen cliff*
DAM: God dammit.
Hazzamo: Miraculously, Oliver survived, being nursed back to health by an old acquaintance after his body lay on a cliff side for four days. Soon enough, Oliver would return to Starling to continue the fight to save his city, but the League of Assassins had not forgotten him.
Zivon: Ra's Al Ghul had heard a prophecy about his successor being the man who could survive his blade, and since Oliver had just done that, he told him to become the Heir to the Demon.
DAM: But given the fact that Oliver didn't want to give up being The Arrow in exchange for leading a crew of murderers, he declined. Ra's, however, didn't take this very well, and began murdering innocents in Starling and framing the killings on him, forcing Oliver to become his apprentice. What he didn't expect though, was for Oliver to kill him right in the middle of his master plan to purge Starling City. Way to go Ra's, that's two for two failures.
Hazzamo: Through his training with Ra's, however, Oliver was taught the skills of the league, including an improvement to his already impressive stealth skills, improved sword combat, and ninjitsu.
DAM: Not only that, but Oliver survived the outcome of that fight with Ra's when he was shot in the chest by police snipers. He was up and banging his secretary in less than a day!
Zivon: Combine this with his arsenal, and Oliver is a force to be reckoned with. True to his name, The Arrow carries a customized compound bow and arrow into battle. The advantage to a compound bow is that it gets energy not only from the arms of the bow, but also from the lever style limbs, allowing the bow to be drawn more easily and store more energy to fire than a normal recurve bow. The Arrows he fires travel at an average of 300 feet per second. Not only that, but the bow itself can be used in combat, acting as a melee weapon.
Hazzamo: In addition to the standard hunting arrows The Arrow fires, he has an arsenal of trick arrows as well. The ones most commonly seen are the grappling hook arrows which allow him to scale tall buildings or quickly escape danger, explosive or flashbang arrows, incendiary arrows that can blind a target, electric arrows which are essentially tazers with the shaft of an arrow, tranquilizer arrows, nanite arrows for fighting meta-humans, and bola arrows for taking criminals in alive. Oliver also has a set of remote control crossbows that he can set up on the fly to fire arrows with the push of a button.
DAM: Then there's The Arrow suit. Constructed form a polymer Kevlar weave, it's bulletproof as well as having space for arrows and flechette darts. And though Oliver can only carry so many, the biggest advantage to a bow is that for most of his arrows he can just pick them up and use them again.
Zivon: The Arrow also has his own encrypted communicator which he uses to talk to the rest of his team, especially Felicity Smoak who can hack into just about anything. She's been able to help Oliver out of some pretty tough spots, and make it easier to take down criminals by tracking their cell phones, and finding any and all information that exists on them.
DAM: With this combination of gear guts and experience, Oliver has gone up against some pretty tough odds and has always come out on top. He's fought and defeated the Dark Archer, the Huntress, the Ravager, Deathstroke, the Komodo, and even, once again, Ra's Al Ghul. He's also fought against an army of criminals hopped up on super soldier serum, making them super strong and super durable.
Hazzamo: He's also fought both with and against other DC heroes, including the Atom and, more importantly, the Flash, who he both fought and mentored. During his fight with the Flash, The Arrow was able to not only keep up with him while moving at super speed, but was also able to land hits on him and even predict his moves.
Zivon: That said, Oliver isn't perfect. Thanks to his time on the island, he does suffer from PTSD and has flashbacks to his time there on occasion. He also constantly struggles with being both Oliver Queen and The Arrow, convinced that he can't do both at once. Finally, he has a major guilt complex, blaming himself for nearly everything that goes wrong in his life or the lives of those he cares about.
Hazzamo: There's also the fact that his arrows can run out, and actually have in the past, leaving him possibly at the mercy of an enemy.
Zivon: Despite that, in his quest to save his city, Oliver was able to become someone else. He became something else.
DAM: Whenever Starling City is in trouble, you can count on The Arrow to kick whatever ass is in range. And with archery skills like his, that's a lot of range.
"You have failed this city!"

Hazzamo: We've got Bruce Wayne, the Batman of Gotham and Oliver Queen, The Arrow of Starling.
DAM: It's time for a Death Battle!
The dead of night settled over Gotham City, but even in the darkness, the glowing Wayne Enterprises tower shone over the city like a great beacon of light.
Inside, the tower, however, was a completely different story. A man with greying hair and glasses rifled through several drawers in the CEO's office, muttering to himself as he sorted through the papers before coming across one that put a crooked smile on his face. With this, he'd be able to oust Lucius Fox and regain control of Wayne Enterprises. The man got up to leave, but before he could take more than a step, the lights went out, plunging the room into complete darkness. The confused thief frantically looked around the massive CEO's office, but saw nothing. Worried, but not put off his prize, he turned and made for the door, but stopped immediately in his tracks when he noticed that he was no longer alone.
Standing in the door to the office was a man in a green hooded costume with a bow in hand and a quiver of arrows on his back. The man stumbled for words. "You're... You're supposed to be in Starling, not here-"
"William Earle." The Arrow growled as he drew an arrow from his quiver and strung it in his bow. "You have failed this city!"
"No! Wait! Don't hurt me!" Earle cried, backing away, frantically.
The Arrow responded by firing his shot, the arrow sticking Earle's foot, the corrupt businessman crying out in pain. "You lost this company, and you're not getting it back by stealing and falsifying records. I want you out of Gotham tonight."
Before Earle or the Arrow could say another word, the office window shattered, a massive, dark shape flying in and slamming into the hooded vigilante, Earle using the distraction to limp out of the office.
The Arrow watched as the businessman fled before he could fire another arrow. "You cost me my target." He said into his voice modulator, the result much deeper and more severe than his real voice.
"That's not the way to get justice." The dark shape growled, rising to his full six feet of height. He was dressed entirely in black, and wore a cape and cowl in the shape of a bat's head and wings, the symbol of a stylized bat on his armoured chest.
"Oh yeah?" The Arrow said, rising to his feet before his new challenger and knocking a new arrow. "And just who are you to tell me that?"
The caped crusader took up a fighting stance and faced his enemy. "I'm Batman."
FIGHT!
Oliver loosed his arrow, but Bruce caught it right in front of his face and surged forward with a flying kick. Oliver ducked under it and came back with a strike from his bow, hitting Batman in the back before he could block. He moved in for another strike, but Batman moved first, leaping back and flinging a pair of batarangs at the Arrow, one missing, but the other hitting him in the shoulder, but not penetrating the Kevlar costume. The Arrow responded with a flechette that bounced off the Batsuit as Batman attacked again, ducking under Oliver's bow and punching him in the stomach, doubling him in pain and allowing him to attack again, elbowing him in the back and sending him to the ground. Batman raised a foot to knock him out, but The Arrow threw another flechette, this one with a mini flashbang on it, stunning the caped crusader and allowing the archer to escape, rolling aside and leaping to his feet.
Making a running jump, Oliver leapt out of the window Bruce had crashed through, firing a grappling arrow at the building next door and pulling himself to the rooftop with it. He put a hand to his communicator. "Felicity." He said. "Someone's on my tail."
"I noticed. It's not often someone smacks you around." Felicity replied.
"Not helping." Oliver growled.
"Okay, okay, okay. What's he look like?"
"He's dressed as a giant bat. It's pretty distinctive."
"Giant bat in Gotham city... I wonder if you're just destined to have vampires in your city if you call it 'goth...'"
"Felicity!"
"I'm on it, just keep him busy."
Oliver was about to reply when a batarang flew past his face, Batman immediately following it with a series of punches that forced the Arrow onto the defensive. Oliver leapt back after parrying another punch. "How did you find me?"
Batman gestured to his glowing eyes. "I tracked you through your communicator."
"Felicity..." The Arrow hissed.
"I'm on it. He's got his gear encrypted, this might take a minute."
Batman wasn't going to give the Arrow that much time, flinging another series of batarangs at the Starling City archer. Oliver ducked under the projectiles and fired a pair of Arrows, Batman catching the first and dodging the second before launching into another attack, one that the Arrow managed to avoid with another shot, firing an explosive arrow at the Dark Knight's feet, knocking him to the ground. In the commotion, the Arrow fled over the side of the building, using another grappling arrow to slow his fall.
"Master Bruce," Alfred said in his ear. "Are you alright?"
"Just a scratch." Batman growled.
"Are you sure? This man seems quite skilled. Perhaps you should come back to the cave and prepare."
"If I do that, more people die. I've got to take him down tonight Alfred." With those words, the Dark Knight made a running leap off the building, spreading the wings of his cape to act as a glider as he searched for the Arrow through his link to the world's cell phones. There he was. Hiding in an alleyway, talking to his companion. Batman silently flew in for a landing on one of the buildings that created the alley. His target was facing away from him, now was the perfect time to strike. Leaping off the building, he landed with hardly a sound.
The second he landed, Oliver turned, arrow drawn in his bow, and fired, the hunting arrow sticking in the chest of the Batsuit, making the Dark Knight stumble back in pain.
The Arrow smirked. "Thank you Felicity." He muttered. Felicity had been able to hack into his opponent's cowl and 'borrow' the system that allowed Batman to track him. As the Dark Knight pulled the arrow out of his chest, Oliver was already on him, a swing of his bow hitting the caped crusader right in the face, and knocking him back. Oliver prepared for another attack, but Batman struck first, breaking Oliver's arrow over his head and punching him in the stomach before kicking him in the head, sending him sprawling.
Oliver rolled away from the Bat, and threw another flechette, the Dark Knight leaping over the attack and coming down with a kick at the Arrow, the archer rolling out of the way and jumping to his feet, pulling out a small remote from his uniform pocket. As Batman turned to face him, he pushed a button, a pair of crossbows firing from behind the bat and hitting him in the shoulders. Batman cried out in pain as the arrows hit him, and the Arrow loaded another shot up. When he fired, however, Batman ducked the attack and lobbed another batarang, the bat shaped projectile cutting through the strap of the Arrow's quiver, sending arrows, both normal and trick to the ground with a clatter.
With his enemy effectively disarmed, Batman steeled himself and pulled the bolts out of his back with a hiss of pain, beginning his attack anew. He leapt at the Arrow who dodged the first attack and struck back with his bow, an attack that Batman parried with his gauntlets, though Oliver pulled his bow back before it could be taken from him.
Bruce pressed his attack, kicking the Arrow in the chest and punching him in the jaw before the archer could even attack him. He aimed another punch for the Arrow's face, but the archer ducked it and sidestepped, smacking Batman in the back of his head with his bow. Batman staggered, but was back on the attack quickly, roundhouse kicking the Arrow in the head, throwing him to the ground.
"Oliver, get up!" Felicity said in his ear. Oliver's response was a groan of pain as he tried to move. He got to all fours and crawled away from Batman as Bruce advanced on him. "Oliver!"
Just as Batman got close, he realized what the Arrow was going for. He had fallen next to his discarded quiver! Before Bruce could move, Oliver suddenly spun around to face him, Arrow knocked, and fired.
Batman was able to catch the arrow before it hit him, but as he did, it activated, the arrowhead firing a set of cables and wrapped around his hand and neck before sticking in the wall behind him. Batman struggled to free himself as the Arrow got back to his feet, another arrow already loaded.
Oliver prepared to finish his opponent off, but out of nowhere, Batman put his unbound hand up, seemingly in surrender. Oliver cautiously lowered his bow, the info Felicity gave him saying that this guy never surrendered.
Lowering that bow proved to be a big mistake.
Suddenly, Batman turned his hands so that both his palms faced away from the Arrow, the blades on the gauntlets launching from the gloves and hitting the Arrow across his chest, the Starling vigilante crying out in pain as they hit him, making him stumble back. In all the commotion, Batman drew a batarang in his unbound hand and began to cut the cord that bound him. Once free, he threw the batarang at the Arrow, the projectile sticking in his side and making him cry out in pain again. Knowing he'd only get one more chance, Batman attacked, hooking the Arrow in the jaw again and grabbing him in a sleeper hold.
Oliver struggled and gasped for breath as Batman held him, the projectiles in his torso causing him a lot of pain as darkness began to creep in from the edges of his vision.
Batman watched, emotionless as the Arrow struggled in his grip. His struggles began to get weaker as he began to lose consciousness. Suddenly, he felt a harsh stabbing pain in his abdomen. Crying out in pain, the caped crusader released his captive and stumbled back, a flechette stuck in his gut.
Oliver fell to his knees, gasping for breath. He knew that he was only going to get one more shot at this, so grabbing the closest arrow to him, he strung it and fired, the arrow flying right at Batman's head. The Dark Knight, however caught the shot. He didn't expect it to start beeping. Too late to realize his mistake, the arrow exploded right in his face.
Oliver rose to his feet as Bruce fell, dead. "Felicity, he's down, but the target got away."
"Not to worry, I'm tracking him with your new friend's tracker."
The Arrow retrieved his quiver and walked away from the Batman's corpse, the mask peeled back like melted plastic along with his skin and exposing his skull from forehead to chin. "Not like he needs it anymore."
K.O.!
DAM: Oh boy... We're fucked. The Batman fanboys are gonna kill us.
Zivon: This may have been the closest fight we've had yet, since both of these two fighters are so well trained and have been through so much. However, despite the fact that Batman is a master of ninjitsu and stealth, the Arrow is also a ninjitsu expert, as well as an expert in escrima and CQC, and has proved to be no slouch when it comes to stealth. There's also the Arrow's arsenal, much more of which is lethal than Batman's. While Batman has his grenades, batarangs and gauntlet blades, the Arrow has, well, all his arrows, each one designed to be able to kill, even without the trick arrows such as his explosive arrows, and his flechettes could be thrown much straighter and more accurately than the batarangs. Then there's armour, where Batman actually does have the edge, since his armour is stronger than the Arrow's having two layers instead of one. That said, however, as we saw in the Dark Knight Rises, Batman's armour can be pierced by a knife, such as when Talia Al Ghul stabbed him, so while he might be able to take more punishment, Arrows, which can fly faster and hit harder than a knife, will puncture the suit and can kill him, and despite all his feats and training, underneath that suit, he's just a man, and a man can be killed by arrows. Especially when those arrows explode. Then, there's survivability. Batman can tank a lot of injuries, including the time he had his spine broken by Bane. He was able to climb out of a pit prison and return to Gotham in a matter of months. The Arrow, on the other hand, was stabbed through the chest and fell off a cliff, his body sitting on the cliff face for four days before he was found and brought to someone who patched him up. In a week, he was back on his feet and fighting crime in Starling again.
DAM: But Zivon, Batman's done so much more than that! What about all his time with the Justice League? He's a founding member who's gone up against Superman!
Zivon: Ah yes, the Batman of the full DC Universe has done much more than the Arrow, however, we're strictly covering the Dark Knight movies and Arrow for this fight, meaning that there are no super humans for Batman to fight. Meanwhile, Oliver has mentored and fought against the Flash, even managing to fight, hit and subdue him while he moved at super speed. Finally, each fighter had some outside help in the form of advice from Alfred and Felicity for Batman and the Arrow respectively, and while Alfred gives good advice in combat, he just can't match Felicity, who's a master at hacking. Considering she can hack and control an entire swarm of robot bees, hacking into Batman's cell phone tracker was definitely feasible for her, ruining Batman's advantage of stealth since she could now tell Oliver exactly where he was.
Hazzamo: With both fighters so proficient in combat of a similar nature, the battle went to the combatant with the superior arsenal, greater will to survive and better aid in battle: the Arrow.
DAM: This fight was going so well until it blew up in Bats' face.
Zivon: The winner is the Arrow.
Next Time on Death Battle:
A white, robotic humanoid slides down a mountain on his bladed ski, out running a massive avalanche…
Vs…
A blue robot launches a shuriken into Jax's head, the weapon spiralling inside his skull and mulching his brain.
That, folks, was a masterfully written chapter by Zivon96, my co-host and great friend. Let him and myself know what you think of this and how many more fights like this you'd like to see, we have a general idea but I'd be more than happy to pass him some more fights. The next fight is also written by him and I handled the Melee, see you guys there, and don't forget to cite your DAM sources!
