Chapter 53: I'm No Sakura...

"There has to be more to this dress," Rebekah complained as she came out of the dressing room, "What do you think Sakura?"

"I agree, not much to it. You look hot though," Sakura smiled. She was getting along with Rebekah unusually well.

"It's the way a lot of people dress nowadays," Klaus sighed.

"So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes, then. You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers," Rebekah stated as she looked in the mirror.

"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing," Klaus explained.

"Come on Sakura, you should try on clothes with me," Rebekah pulled her off the sofa in the clothing store.

"I don't know, I'm pretty comfortable in this," Sakura said, referring to her cargo pants, t-shirt and trench coat.

"Please," Rebekah pouted.

Sakura glanced back at Klaus and Stefan, who were obviously bored. "Go ahead love," Klaus said, thinking she was looking for permission. It was an effort to torture them more, plus have a little fun. Rebekah handed her a small black dress and pushed her into the dressing room, as she tried on a green one of the same dress.

Rebekah came out first and twirled in her dress. "Come on out Sakura," she called in a sing-song voice.

"Do I have to?" Sakura asked, suddenly feeling oddly self-conscious.

"Yes, now get out here," Rebekah commanded. She waiting a few seconds before barging in on Sakura, and pulling her out. "Would you quit worrying, you look gorgeous," Rebekah commented, giving her a look over.

"So do you," Sakura smiled back at her. Rebekah turned Sakura so she was facing Klaus and Stefan, who's mouths dropped.

"You look absolutely stunning love," Klaus smiled as he ogled.

"Who knew," Stefan smirked, knowing Sakura preferred baggy clothes. The thought of 'Damon knew' passed through Stefan's mind.

"You have to take that one with you," Rebekah smiled, "I'll definitely keep this one." Rebekah figured it might be nice to match with someone, a girl friend.

"What is this music? It sounds like a cable car accident," Rebekah cringed.

"It's dance music," Stefan stifled a laugh.

"People dance to this?" Rebekah's eyes went wide. Stefan nodded with a smiled.

"Are we done?" Klaus inquired.

"And why are you so grumpy?" Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying, one thing. Your necklace. And you lost it," Klaus spat.

"I didn't lose it. It's just been missing for 90 years," Rebekah tried to defend herself.

"She might of had it if you didn't put her in a coma by stabbing her with that dagger," Sakura commented and Klaus frowned at her.

"I'm going to try on one more," Rebekah pulled a different dress in with her. She changed quickly and came back out. "So what do you think?" she asked Stefan.

"I like it," Stefan replied immediately. She frowned at him in disbelief. "What? I said I like it," Stefan said.

"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan," Rebekah spat and went back inside the changing room.

"Nice one, good work," Klaus glared at Stefan.

"You're the one that pulled the dagger out of her," Stefan glared back.

"I like her," Sakura smiled.

"I heard that... And thank you Sakura," Rebekah said, while still in the changing room.

"All right. I'm going to get some fresh air," Stefan got up and stretched before heading out. Sakura watched him leave and noticed him hesitate at one point. There was someone waiting out there for him, but Sakura chose to leave him be.

"Champagne?" Klaus offered her a glass.

"Sure," Sakura took the glass and sat down beside him.

"I just don't know why you want to bring chili to a potluck. Everybody brings chili," Damon complained as he cooked with Elena, Leilani and Darien sat at the table, watching.

"Because Sakura was the one that knew how to really cook," Leilani frowned at him.

"Hey, Ric," Damon said as soon as Alaric came in.

"What's up?" he asked as he looked around at all of them.

"What time do you want to go to the Lockwood party?" Elena asked, assuming he was going.

"Ah. Those founders parties aren't really my thing," Alaric tried to wave it off.

"Show up, there's going to be nine other people that brought chili," Damon mocked them.

"It's an old family recipe, ok?" Elena insisted.

"Tastes good to me," Leilani said after sneaking a spoon.

Alaric looked around the room. "Why are you here, exactly?" he asked, looking between Damon and Darien.

"They know," Darien said pointing at Leilani and Elena.

"They think I'm going to break. I'm not going to break. I am just going to keep making chili, pretend like I didn't just spend the entire summer looking for someone who didn't want to be found," Elena frowned.

"And I didn't look for Sakura, just to be blasted away as if I didn't matter," Leilani mumbled.

"They're in denial," Damon whispered.

Leilani and Elena looked at each other. "We're not in denial," they said at the same time.

Darien got up and walked over to Elena, "You're still wearing this necklace. Isn't this the reminder of your unbreakable bond with Stefan?"

"Ohhhh," Leilani covered her mouth.

"Oh, like you're any better sassypants. You're wearing her necklace," Damon pointed out.

"And that ring on your finger says you're just as bad," Leilani spat.

"This was the gift from right before she left," Damon pointed out.

"So was mine," Leilani sighed.

Alaric looked between Leilani and Damon, then at Darien and Elena and sighed. Drama everywhere.

The doorbell rang and Elena rushed to answer. It was Caroline. "I come bearing gifts," Caroline held out a dish.

"Please say that's not chili," Elena sighed.

"Bonnie!" Leilani said as she came over and noticed her behind Caroline.

"I'm back!" Bonnie smiled as they gave her a hug, "I leave town for the summer and everything goes to hell for all of you."

"Bonnie!" Jeremy rushed down the stairs.

"Jeremy!" Bonnie rushed over to him and kissed. They hugged and Jeremy stared into the space behind her, like something was there.

Klaus, Rebekah and Sakura were drinking at Gloria's bar, when Stefan walked in.

"You left us," Rebekah complained.

"Yeah, sorry. Retail therapy was making my head explode," Stefan sighed.

"Tell me about it," Klaus rolled his eyes.

"What's she doing?" Stefan asked, looking at Gloria, who was trying to cast a spell.

"She's failing," Klaus growled impatiently.

"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on," Gloria spat.

"So use me. I only wore it for a thousand years," Rebekah suggested.

"See? Now this one offers a solution," Gloria smiled at her. Rebekah got up on the table and sat down. "All right, give me your hand, sweetheart," Gloria held out her hand. Rebekah did as she was told.

"She's, uh, she's looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan asked nervously. Sakura smiled at him slyly and shook her head.

"I'm going to get some air," Sakura walked past Stefan, smiling at him, as she made her way out of the bar. Stefan followed her outside, nervously biting his lip. She turned around and he almost ran into her. She lifted her hand up and her eyes glowed, "Speak freely old friend. They can't hear."

"Really?" Stefan glanced back at the bar.

"Things are getting... Sticky," Sakura stated, "It will lead them to her you know."

"How do you know what they're looking for?" Stefan questioned her.

"One, you're acting nervous. Two, I know you gave Elena a necklace. Three, I saw it in the vision I had of you guys," Sakura said plainly.

"I don't know what to do, can you block them or something?" Stefan was getting desperate.

"It's too late for that," Sakura sighed.

"Why does it seem like you're trying to help me?" Stefan asked, noticing how many times she's ignored things Klaus would have wanted to know.

"I don't know. I like you, you're interesting. Maybe it's because of the real Sakura? Maybe I just like the drama. Maybe I'm messing with everyone, just because I can," Sakura smiled.

"The problem with my dad's normal side of the family, is normal made for a really boring summer," Bonnie complained as she joined them in the kitchen.

"After the last few days, I would kill for a normal family," Caroline said, thinking about her father trying to torture her into changing her vampire ways.

"Since when did you learn how to cook?" Caroline looked between Elena and Leilani as she helped fill a casserole container with chili.

"Damon helped us," Leilani admitted.

"Damon's helping you cook now?" Bonnie looked back and forth between them, wide eyed.

"Both of you stop judging. He's just trying to be a good... Ow!" Elena yelped.

"Ahh! Did I splash you?" Caroline freaked out.

"Elena?" Darien came rushing in.

"No, my necklace," Elena cringed. Darien pulled it off and there was a burn underneath. He dropped it on the counter, not wanting to touch a vervain necklace.

"I can sense something," Gloria said, still holding onto Rebekah's hand.

Stefan glanced at Sakura nervously, wishing she would help.

"It burned me," Elena touched the burn mark.

"Maybe it's a sign you shouldn't be wearing it," Caroline suggested.

"Caroline..." Bonnie said warningly.

"What, I'm just saying. If you're going to be "cooking" without Stefan," Caroline pointed out. "But he's not the one that rushed to save you," Caroline thought out loud as she looked at Darien. He didn't bat an eye, he kept his focus on Elena, obviously deep in thought.

"Let me see it," Bonnie said and Elena held it out to her, in her hand. Bonnie touched it and they both got shocked. Elena dropped it, startled, and gazed down at it.

Gloria let Rebekah's hand drop and she looked at the others, "I found it."

"So where is it?" Rebekah asked impatiently.

"It doesn't work like that doll. I get images. There's a girl with her friends..." Gloria started to explain what she saw.

"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back," Rebekah spat angrily.

"Well, I'll have to dive back in to get the details," Gloria stated.

"So dive," Klaus tried to rush her.

"I need more time. And space. You're harshing my ju-ju," Gloria frowned at them.

"We can wait," Klaus leant back against the chair.

"I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked," Gloria glared at him.

"Hey. Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later. I'm hungry anyway. I'll let you pick who we eat," Stefan tried to get them to leave.

"Let's go, I need to stretch my legs," Sakura got up and stretched.

"Fine," Rebekah said and followed Sakura out along with Stefan and Klaus.

They went to the Lockwood mansion for the party. Darien was roaming around, keeping his eyes peeled. The girls sat on a bench, away from the party.

"I have an identification spell that might be able to tell me what magic affected the necklace," Bonnie said as she joined them with her grimoire. Elena handed her the necklace, "It's going to take a while, so tell me if anyone's coming, ok?"

"So you're not, like, switching are you?" Caroline asked Elena.

"What?" Elena frowned at her.

"Caroline..." Bonnie growled.

"Stay focused," Caroline turned to Bonnie and back.

"As your friend who worries for you daily, what is the deal with you and Damon, or is it Darien?" Caroline asked, wanting juicy details.

"There is no deal. He's been just as focused on finding Stefan as I have," Elena said referring to Damon.

"Yeah, but that doesn't make him any less Damon. If my own father, who I love dearly, can't change me. No one's changing Damon. Not even you," Caroline frowned. "And what about Darien?" Caroline continued to prod.

"Darien wants to find his sister," Elena explained.

"But he's been hanging around you, rather than Leilani," Caroline pointed out.

"Leilani's been hanging out with Damon," Elena spat.

"Ohhhh," Caroline poked Leilani. Leilani pushed Caroline's hand away and just gazed up at the sky.

"Look, why are we even talking about this?" Elena was starting to snap.

"Hey guys," Bonnie grabbed their attention. They turned to see the necklace levitating.

"What are you doing?" Caroline frowned.

"I'm not doing anything. It has its own magic," Bonnie looked at them worried.

Stefan and Klaus are on a couch, in a warehouse in Chicago, drinking from two women. Rebekah glared at them with a body beside her, "My girl's dead. I'm bored."

Klaus turned to Stefan, "You weren't kidding about being hungry."

"Yeah," Stefan licked his lips, "It's been a long day."

"Try being related to her," Klaus nudged his head towards Rebekah and laughed.

"You're being mean. And why are you being mean? You used to love me," Rebekah glared at them.

"It's been 90 years, Rebekah. Give him a minute," Klaus said, thinking she was just talking about Stefan.

"Why are you taking his side?" she complained.

"Because, my dear sister, I feel pity for any man who doesn't give you what you want," Klaus laughed.

"Will you stop making me out to be a brat? I am not a brat!" Rebekah spat.

"A thousand years of life experience says otherwise," Klaus smiled.

"Well, you're no picnic, either. I mean, I've only spent one summer with you and I feel like I want to blow my head off," Stefan said to Klaus.

"Quit bickering," Sakura complained as she thumped down on the couch with Rebekah. She pushed the dead body off the couch.

"Someone's grumpy," Klaus remarked.

"Headache," Sakura pointed to her head.

"I need to go," Stefan got up abruptly.

"Where's he going?" Rebekah frowned, not wanting him to leave.

"To write a name on a wall. It's a long story," Klaus sighed as he looked at the dead bodies.

"I have a bad feeling," Sakura frowned as she watched Stefan walk away. She sighed and fell asleep.

Sakura could see Gloria hovering over a shirtless Stefan, stabbing with a vervain laced poker.

"You have to do something," another Sakura appeared beside her.

"Why should I?" the Fenrir laughed.

"You know I'm getting stronger, as I lay here dormant. Make sense? No, not really. But you can feel me pushing back, can't you? Help Stefan or I'm going to torture the hell out of you, every time you fall asleep," Sakura hissed.

"Ugh, fine. Always a hero," Fenrir rolled it's eyes, "Can't I sleep for a little longer though?"

"Go, NOW!" Sakura yelled.

Sakura snorted slightly as she woke up. Klaus laughed, "Hello sleeping beauty."

"Ugh, I need some air, and to stretch my legs out. I'll be back in a bit," Sakura pat Klaus on the head as she walked by him.

He glanced at her, "Don't stay out too late love."

Sakura made her way to Gloria's bar. Instead of alerting the witch too early by going through the front door, she walked through the back wall. Stefan was laying on top of a table, shirtless, and was screaming as Gloria rubbed vervain on his skin. "Well this seems kinky," Sakura laughed.

"You!" Gloria gasped when she saw her, "What do you want?"

"Well, Stefan. You see I have this little nagging voice in my head that won't let me sleep until I save him," Sakura raised her hand.

"What are you doing? Whatever it is, don't and I'll make it worth it," Gloria pleaded.

"Sakura?" Stefan coughed and turned his head to look at her, "Run!"

"Doesn't sound like something I'd do," Sakura smiled. Sakura started to slowly close her hand, like she was crushing something.

Gloria clutched her chest, "Please don't! I'll let him go!" Sakura closed her hand completely and Gloria dropped to the ground, dead.

She walked up to Stefan and helped him up, "Thanks, how did you know?"

"Weird vision," Sakura answered vaguely.

"I didn't expect that," Katherine appeared behind them.

"If you were lurking around, you should have saved him," Sakura glared at her.

"I think you did it better," Katherine sighed, "I'm a little surprised you did actually."

"Let's go," Sakura nudged her head, looking at Stefan. He shook his head and looked sadly at Gloria.

"Did Stefan ever tell you where he got the necklace?" Caroline asked Elena.

"No. And I never asked. Hopefully Bonnie will be able to figure it out," Elena replied.

"Please tell me it's time to go," Alaric sighed as he walked up to them.

"Beyond. Where are Darien and Damon?" Elena asked as she looked around the mansion.

"Probably off somewhere doing bad things to good people. Consider me the honesty police," Caroline spat, all of a sudden her mood changed.

"What is it?" Leilani asked her, worried.

"What the matter?" Alaric asked.

"It's my dad," Caroline pointed behind them, at Bill, in a slight distance.

"Why would he even show up here?" Leilani frowned.

"I don't know. But I can't..." Caroline retreated, not wanting to see him after the torture he put her through.

"We get it. I'll call you later," Elena assured her. Caroline rushed away, upstairs.

"Ok, what's that all about?" Alaric asked, clueless as to what happened.

"Speaking of doing bad things to good people..." Elena sighed as Damon came up to them.

"Wait, wait, Houston, we have a problem," Damon approached them.

"Where have you been? And where is Darien, I thought he was with you?" Elena looked around.

"Managing Bill Forbes. Apparently he's impervious to compulsion," Damon shook his head in annoyance.

"How?" Alaric asked.

"I have no idea. But he threatened to out me. Don't get me started on the irony of that. Darien is trying to talk to him, maybe do something else, who knows, he's got a temper. Might want to watch out for that Elena," Damon smirked.

"No he doesn't," Elena rolled her eyes.

"I know for a fact he doesn't, now stop fooling around," Leilani frowned up at him.

"What did you do to him? How do you know the compulsion doesn't work?" Elena crossed her arms disapprovingly.

"That's not the most important piece of information I mentioned, Elena," Damon said, not wanting to answer.

"What does he want?" Alaric asked as he looked around at other people, keeping an eye out.

"He wants to control the council. Says it's been compromised," Damon shook his head.

"It has," Alaric pointed out.

"He wants to put vervain in the town's water supply," Damon growled.

"Maybe it's not a bad idea. I mean, it'll help you keep yourself in control now that Stefan's not here to..." Elena trailed off.

"To what? To keep me in check? Make me behave? I should have killed him this morning," Damon showed his frustration.

"But you didn't," Leilani pointed out.

"He's Caroline's dad, Damon," Elena warned.

"Yeah, and when I kill him, or Darien does, she'll have one more parent than we do," Damon said, figuring Caroline still had it good.

"Oh, come on, Damon!" Alaric nudged in annoyance.

"You're repeatedly killing my buzz today, Ric. Step aside," Damon hissed.

"Yeah, it's not going to happen," Alaric blocked his from moving.

"Your temporary funeral," Damon smirked.

"Damon, don't," Leilani warned him.

Damon snapped Alaric's neck, knowing he'd be brought back and walked by them.

"Damon, no! What is wrong with you?!" Elena screeched as she held onto Alaric.

"You didn't need to do that," Leilani frowned at him. He glanced back at them with a glare and continued on his way.

"You've got this handled, maybe I should head back," Sakura suggested as Stefan wrapped Gloria's body in a sheet.

"Yes, I need to talk to Stefan alone," Katherine glared at her.

"Fine. I'll see you later Stefan," Sakura started to walk away.

"Thank you again," Stefan called out to her.

"Oh and Katherine. Don't treat me like I'm below you. It's annoying," Sakura's eyes glowed and a piece of broken wood on the floor went flying into Katherine's stomach.

"Ah!" Katherine cried out. She ripped the stake out and was about to go after Sakura, when Stefan stepped in between them.

"Caroline, it's an emergency," Elena called her.

Leilani had already followed Damon, but he got ahead of her. When she rushed into the office, Damon was drinking Bill's blood, who was on his knees. He stopped when Leilani entered.

"Whoo. You know, with all this behavioral modification going on around here, I almost forgot how good blood tastes when it's...Fresh," Damon smiled at Leilani with blood draining down his face.

"What are you going to do? Kill everybody who discovers your secret?" Bill spat at him.

"Damon, you're better than this," Leilani pleaded.

"No, I'm not. And no, I'm not going to kill you, Bill. I'm just going to find pleasure in perfect little moments like this," Damon laughed.

"Lux Sagitta," Leilani summoned her bow, "Don't Damon." Leilani looked at him pleadingly.

Damon was about to bite him again, when Caroline appeared. She threw him against the wall and then out the window.

"Daddy! Are you ok?" Caroline rushed over to him.

"I'm fine," Bill tried to shake it off.

"Here. It'll heal you," Caroline bit her wrist.

"I said I'm ok," Bill refused.

"Grow up," Caroline forced him to drink her blood.

"Let me teach this ass-wheel a life lesson," Damon hopped back in through the window.

"Just get out of here," Caroline tried to shoo him away.

"Or what?" Damon scoffed.

Caroline slapped him and he threw her onto the desk, to strangle her. "Damon!" Leilani shot him in the leg and he stumbled back. Damon glared at Leilani, who was ready to shoot again. "Get him out of here," Leilani commanded.

Caroline didn't wait, she helped Bill up and walked away, walking past Elena who had shown up during the scuffle.

Elena saw the blood around his mouth, "You can't do this anymore, Damon. Not in this town. Not around me."

"Why not? It's nothing I haven't done before. Why is it suddenly so important for everyone to keep me in check?" Damon licked his lips.

"What about Sakura?" Leilani asked, knowing what affect she had on him.

"She's not here. Besides, she excepts who I am," Damon smiled.

"And I don't want you to be what other people think that you are," Elena looked at him sadly.

"What? A monster? Sorry to disappoint you, Elena, but last time I checked, I was still a vampire!" Damon started to yell.

"I guess I wish that you didn't have to act like one!" Elena yelled back.

"I am not Stefan. How about you stop trying to turn me into him?" Damon spat.

"Stefan's not the only good vampire, Damon," Elena thought of Darien.

"Well why don't you just go find your boy toy and stay out of my way," Damon growled and Elena left.

"Damon," Leilani sighed and finally dropped her aim.

"What? You're not going to run away with her?" Damon said, referring to Elena.

Leilani shook her head and sighed. "Why does it feel like neither the raging vampire or the goody vampire, are really you?" Leilani asked, confused by him.

"I am the raging vampire," Damon hissed.

"Not when she's around," Leilani sighed and walked up to the window near him to look out.

"Well, right now, she's not here," Damon stood beside her looking out.

"But going back to your old ways, makes it feel like she's not coming back," Leilani stated, looking up to the sky.

"I'm sorry Leilani. But it's harder when she's not here," Damon explained.

"I wish I could help, but I'm no Sakura," Leilani sighed.

"And don't you dare try to be anybody but yourself Leilani," Damon said as he looked down at her. She dark bags under her eyes, that didn't used to be there. She was always tired now, no doubt worried about Sakura.

"Look who's finally back," Rebekah spotted Stefan by the coffins. She got up off the couch, from beside Sakura, to go talk to Stefan. "You're back. Finally. Nik went to check on the witch," she said as she walked up to him. Sakura followed her up, waiting for a reaction from him. She looked at the coffin, "Dreary, isn't it? The family cargo."

"Hmm. Why don't you undagger them?" Stefan asked, wondering why she wouldn't want her family back.

"Because he would hunt me down and kill me. He's a vindictive little bastard, my brother," Rebekah was obviously afraid.

"But you still care about him. Why?" Stefan asked and Sakura found his question to be odd. He should understand better than anyone.

"Well, I hated him for a long time. It was exhausting," Rebekah sat down on the coffin and he sat down beside her. Sakura made herself scarce, walking to where they wouldn't see her, but close enough to hear.

"You know, when I met you two, you were both on the run," Stefan stated.

"Also exhausting," Rebekah sighed.

"Who were you running from?" Stefan asked. Sakura knew he was after something.

"What do you mean?" Rebekah eyed him suspiciously.

"Last night I saw you, there was a man looking for you. You both seemed afraid. I just... I wouldn't think Klaus would be afraid of anybody," Stefan made sure to keep looking at her.

"No one in this world is truly fearless, Stefan. Not even Niklaus," Rebekah sighed as she though back.

"Who was that man?" Stefan kept prodding.

"I can't. Please," Rebekah shook her head. She got up off the coffin, "If Nik knew we were talking about this, he would..."

"No, no, no, I'm sorry," Stefan got up as well. "Just forget I asked. Ok?" Stefan pretended to care.

"He told me about the girl you loved. The one that died. He also told me that you're only with him because he saved your brother," Rebekah frowned, disappointed.

"It's true," Stefan started to think about Elena.

"I think he secretly admires that about you. You'd sacrifice anything for family. Don't tell him I told you that," Rebekah smiled.

"Your secret... Is safe with me," Stefan said and she kissed him.

"Do you think you'll ever love anyone like you loved that girl?" Rebekah asked, longing for it to be her.

"One day, maybe," Stefan said, not believing his own words.

"I can always tell when you're lying, Stefan," Rebekah crossed her arms.

"What? I'm not..." Stefan lied.

"Don't bother. Your kiss already gave you away," Rebekah said, feeling no passion.

Klaus came rushing in, upset, "Gloria's gone. She's cleared out. We need to find a new witch immediately." Klaus stopped and looked at them, "What's going on? And where's Sakura?"

"Something's wrong. He was asking about Michael. He's not with us, Nik. I can sense it," Rebekah ratted him out.

"She's wrong. Klaus..." Stefan said as Klaus rushed up to him.

Damon poured two drinks and sat on the couch, beside the still dead Alaric. "Wake up!" Damon waved the drink at Alaric. Alaric's eyes shot open, "It took a bit longer than usual, huh? Might want to get that ring checked. Hope it's not going bad."

"You killed me," Alaric growled.

"You pissed me off," Damon retorted.

"You killed me!" he repeated himself.

"Ric, no hard feelings, all right? I was on a bit of a tear. Everyone was trying to tell me how to behave," Damon made excuses.

"Well, maybe they finally realized you're just a dick," Alaric got up and walked away. Leilani was walking in, "You're better off not hanging out with him."

"Just because he has a special ring to bring him back, doesn't mean you should kill him whenever you feel like it. He's your best friend," Leilani said as she walked up to Damon and sat on the couch beside him. Damon held out the second drink to her. "I shouldn't..." Leilani trailed off and took the drink anyways.

The doorbell rang, waking Damon up. He looked beside him to see Leilani sleeping on the couch beside him. He grabbed the blanket that was sitting off to the side and covered her. He stretched a bit and headed to the door. He opened the door to see Elena, "I'll accept written apologies only."

"Are you two lovebirds fighting already?" Katherine smiled.

"Katherine. Wonderful. What do you want?" Damon sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I'm just a girl looking for a partner in crime. Feel like hitting the road? Getting the hell out of dodge?" Katherine offered.

"Impeccable timing. I was told I need to take a beat," Damon smirked.

"Is that a yes? I'll drive," Katherine said instantly.

"Why not? Walls are starting to close in on me around here. Where are we going?" Damon asked.

"Away from here. That's all I'm going to give you for right now. But believe me... It's good," Katherine held up Elena's necklace.

"Count me in," Leilani had woken up.

They were inside the truck when Stefan woke up, with Klaus staring down at him. "Just give me a chance to explain myself, ok?" Stefan pleaded.

"No need. I'm not mad, I'm just curious. Rebekah seems to think you're holding onto something. A piece of your old life. The thing is, she's got flawless instincts, borderline supernatural. So I thought I would check it out. See for myself what it is you've been hiding," Klaus smiled. He opened the truck door, "Welcome back to Mystic Falls, Stefan."
