Effects of a rider chap 49: The tale of the Fire'gator
AN: To Arthur, who will probably never see this. This conversation happened to me today. Hope you enjoy.
Alex was exausted. Absolutly shattered. But he still couldn't avoid this impossible mission. Amusing the four-yearold.
"What's a fire'gator?"
"You mean an alligator with fire?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay. (Deep breath).
There was once an alligator walking down a path.
He came across some people having a barbecue and he rushed up to try and eat them but they saw him and ran quickly away.
That left him all alone with the barbecue and he was very hungry.
So the alligator ate all the hamburgers. And ate all the sausages on the barbecue but he was still hungry!
So guess what he did? He ate the barbecue! Coals and all!
The next day the alligator woke up with a terrible stomach ache and started hiccuping.
But every time he hiccuped a bout of flame came out of his snout!
That meant, when he was trying to sneak up on people to eat them he would hiccup and they would spot the flames and run away. He thought that was most unfair. That's how a fire'gator came to be."
(Two seconds passed peacefully).
"What would happen if someone (pointing at the grate) fell down there and died?"
The inquisition continued. But Alex rather enjoyed it, at least in this interrogation the worst he would be threatened with was tears and a tantrum.
He was happy. The big boy had talked to him forever! He liked him. He listened.
