Hi everyone! As you may have noticed, my plans for this chapter changed slightly. Don't worry, you'll still get to see other Gleeks, just in the next chapter. In a few chapters, there will be a Nationals chapter where you'll get to see everyone! And THANK YOU so much for over 900 reviews! I don't deserve that many! Hope you enjoy this chapter and review if you want me to keep going!

Chapter 54: Allie For Council

"Do you like my picture Mommy?" Caylie asked as she handed a picture she just colored to Rachel. Caylie had just had her third birthday a few days ago, and she'd gotten a box of 50 different colored pencils from her cousins. Caylie absolutely loved coloring with them and had been making pictures constantly.

Rachel looked at the picture. Even though it was mostly shapes and lines in various colors, she had to admit it was pretty nice. "I love it, thank you Caylie."

"It's for you!" Caylie said.

"Thank you!" Rachel said, giving Caylie a hug. She and Caylie had spent today together while Finn and Allie were at school. Rachel loved getting to spend time with Caylie while Finn and Allie were gone, but she did miss being able to spend time with her whole family in the summer. She didn't get to see Finn and Allie as much during the school year because of her shows.

"What's your favorite color Mommy?" Caylie asked.

"I like pink," Rachel said. "What about you?"

"I like yellow," Caylie said. "Allie likes purple."

Rachel smiled, remembering that Caylie remembered that about her sister. "Yes she does!"

"What about Daddy?" Caylie asked.

"You'll have to ask him when he gets home," Rachel said.

"Okay," Caylie said, going back to coloring. A few minutes later, Finn and Allie came in. "Daddy, what's your favorite color?" Caylie asked.

"I like red," Finn said.

"That's what color your football jersey and letterman jacket were in high school," Rachel said, remembering the early days of her and Finn falling in love.

"It was!" Finn said.

"So, how was school today?" Rachel asked Finn and Allie.

"In two weeks there's going to be an election for student council," Allie said. "I want to run."

This brought back memories for Rachel of the class president drama her senior year. "Really?"

"Yeah," Allie said. "Each second, third, fourth and fifth grade class will have two kids to be on student council, and then the student council will pick officers."

"I think Allie would be a good student council representative," Finn said.

"I would," Allie said. "I don't know why my teachers didn't pick me last year or in second grade." (In second and third grade, the teachers selected the student council members from their classes rather than the students voting.)

"What makes you want to be on student council?" Rachel asked. Her daughter hadn't mentioned it last year.

"Well, I think the school should have more fun events for the students," Allie said. "I also think the school should have a more strict punishment for kids who are mean to other kids."

"That's a good thing to aim for, Allie," Rachel said. "There have been kids who are mean to you."

"Just about everyone's had someone be mean to them," Allie said.

"At least you don't have slushies at your school," Finn said.

"Why did the school let kids throw those on you?" Allie asked.

Rachel had that same question. "Our school was a mess."

"Yours is better than the one we went to," Finn said. "And I'm not just saying that because I work there."

Allie planned on telling her teacher at school the next day that she planned on running for student council. She told Mia on the way to their classroom. But when she arrived in the classroom, she saw Paige, Josie and Theresa standing at the door, passing out candy. Paige came up to Allie. "Hey Allie! Hey Mia! Want some candy?"

Allie was confused. "Why are you being nice to us?"

"I'm running for student council!" Paige announced.

Allie's heart sank. It was true that the class would be voting on two people for student council, but she knew she didn't stand a chance against Paige. Allie had her friends, but she knew that Paige was a lot more popular than she was.

"So, want some candy?" Paige asked.

"No thanks," Allie said.

"Yeah, me neither," Mia said. "It's a little early to be eating candy."

"Well just so you know, if I win, I'm going to have all the fanciest restaurants in New York send food here for us to have lunch. And all girls will be required to wear designer clothes to school."

Allie and Mia walked away, ignoring their rival. "She's so dumb," Mia said.

"I hope people don't vote for her," Allie sighed as they took their seats. Allie went to tell the teacher she wanted to run for student council, then sat back down with Mia. Pretty much everyone from the class was coming in with candy.

This might be tougher than Allie had thought.

"I'm not taking any of Paige's candy," Abby said as she sat down with Allie and Mia. "I had a cavity and it hurt."

Allie giggled.

"I'm not going to try to bribe people to vote for me," Gracie said.

Now the situation was worse. One of her best friends was running? "You're running, too?" Allie asked.

"Yeah," Gracie said. "I think the school should have more after school activities. My cousin's school has an after school art class, an after school theatre class, after school French and Spanish, after school science, after school yoga... why don't we have any of that?"

After school programs were a good idea. Why hadn't Allie thought of that?

"I talked to our teacher after school yesterday, and she said I can run," Gracie said.

"You okay, Allie?" Abby asked, noticing Allie was being quiet.

"I'm running, too," Allie said quietly. She'd just been in a fight with Mia earlier this year and that was no fun. She didn't want to be rivals with Gracie.

Gracie looked disappointed now. "Well, there are two spots..."

"Yeah, but Paige will probably get one of them," Allie thought out loud. She wanted the two spots to go to her and Gracie, but she knew Paige would probably get one. Plus, she didn't know if anyone else was running. It was possible neither of them would get the spots.

"You two will get the spots," Mia said. "You're the two best people for them."

"Yeah, I'm voting for you two," Abby said.

But that would only be four votes. All those kids eating Paige's candy would probably vote for her.

A few days passed, and no one else was running for student council. Allie, Gracie and Paige had all made campaign posters and put them up around the classroom. Paige was still bringing candy to school and giving it to the kids in the class. Tomorrow, there would be a debate, and Allie was beginning to lose hope. After school, she went to Finn's classroom. "Dad, can we get some candy for me to bring to school tomorrow?"

"Candy?" Finn asked.

"Paige has been giving everyone candy, and telling them to vote for her," Allie said. "I think people will vote for her."

"Your mom and I came up with some pretty cool things to say on your campaign posters," Finn said.

"Yeah, but people will vote for Paige," Allie said. "Giving candy is so stupid."

"Allie, if you think it's stupid to hand out candy, then you shouldn't do that," Finn said.

"I guess you're right," Allie admitted. "But what can I do?"

"You said there's a debate tomorrow, right?" Finn asked.

"Yeah," Allie said.

"In the debate tomorrow, I want you to ask Paige exactly why she's running for student council," Finn said. "Bring up the candy. You and Gracie have been focusing on your platforms, but Paige doesn't seem to have a real platform."

"You're right," Allie said.

The day of the debate, Allie went to school with the new poster her mom had helped her design. She'd written each of the changes she hoped to bring to the school on a gold star and surrounded her photo with the gold stars. As she put the poster on the wall, Paige turned to her. "So Allie, want some candy?"

"I'll have some candy after I win," Allie said as she went to her seat. Paige didn't say anything.

The teacher called the three girls running for student council to the front of the classroom. "As you know, we'll be selecting two of these three girls to represent our class on the student council," the teacher said. "I'm going to ask them some questions, and then you'll have a chance to ask follow-up questions. Gracie, what would you like to do as student council representative?"

"I'd like our school to have some after school activities," Gracie said. "My cousin's school has lots of after school clubs, like an art one, a drama one, some for foreign languages, yoga, science and some other things too. Our school should have those."

"Allie, what about you?" the teacher asked.

"I think we should have a zero tolerance policy for teasing and bullying," Allie said. "Nearly everyone has had someone be mean to them at some point, and teasers and bullies should be punished right away. I'd also like us to have more school events."

"And Paige, tell us your ideas," the teacher said.

"Well, the cafeteria food is gross," Paige said. "I think we should get five star restaurants to deliver food to our school for lunch. And too many people at this school wear ugly clothes. We should have a new dress code, that everyone has to wear designer clothes."

Allie and Gracie shared a look as the teacher spoke again. "Anyone have any questions they want to ask our candidates?"

Abby stood up. "Paige, some people can't afford designer clothes."

"Well, this school is disgusting, literally," Paige said. "I'd suggest remodeling it, but my dad said there isn't money in the city of New York. We should have an on site restaurant, and a pool, and..."

"Paige, this is an elementary school," Allie said. She couldn't help herself.

"One of the girls in my apartment building is our age and goes to a school with an on site restaurant and rec center," Paige said. "My dad said he'd send me to that school, but he thinks more people will vote for him if I go to public school."

"Okay, we're getting off topic," the teacher said. "Allie, as a student council representative, how would you like the teachers to interact with the student council?"

"I think they should supervise and be there to give advice, but the students should be the ones to make the decisions," Allie said. That was one of the questions Finn and Rachel had gone over with her when they were preparing for the debate.

After the debate, the kids were beginning to realize Paige wasn't as fit for the job as she liked to think she was. A week later, the students voted. Finn and Rachel were nervous for their daughter on the day that the class voted. Caylie was sick that day, so Finn took the day off of work. While Caylie was sleeping, Finn and Rachel were watching TV in the living room when Allie got home.

"Well?" Finn asked when Allie came in."

"I won!" Allie said. "Me and Gracie both won! We're going to be on student council!"

"That's great," Rachel said as and Finn gave Allie hugs.

"Thanks for all your help," Allie said. "I wouldn't have won if you guys hadn't told me what to say at the debate. I probably would have just bought candy for everyone and tried to argue with Paige."

"How did Paige take losing?" Finn asked.

"She yelled at the teacher and said she thought it was a mistake," Allie said. "But the teacher didn't put up with her stuff."

"Good," Rachel said. She and Finn both knew their daughter would make great contributions to her school.

Chapter 55 preview: This will be the one where we'll get to see another Glee couple. Something disturbing also happens in the Hudson family's apartment building.
