For like the millionth time, the following chapter is NOT EDITED BECAUSE I'M LAZY, TIRED, AND IT'S FLIPPING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND I JUST WANT TO GO TO BED ALREADY! That is all.
Don't panic
No not yet
I know I'm the one you want to forget
Cue all the love to leave my heart
It's time for me to fall apart - Fall Out Boy "Miss Missing You". (This has nothing to do with the chapter. I just like these lyrics.
Ella's POV
.
How do I do this? It's not something I can just bluntly blurt out. But he needed to know. He deserved to be the first to know. I wasn't planning on doing it tonight. Or anytime soon but ever since we've arrived Iggy's been catching onto my out of characterness. Characterness? Is that even a word? I have to look that up later. Or Iggy might know. He is pretty much a prodigy after all.
Ugh, you're getting distracted Ella. No more procrastinating! I took a big breath in as I thought of the many different outcomes that could occur. One of two things would happen. He would either live up to it or run away and be too disgusted or ashamed to even look at me. I could only hope for the first option.
"Ella?" Iggy's voice cut through my thoughts.
We had ditched the main part of the dance in the senior gym and gone to the other not so great gym made for the rest of the school. A lot of people had gone there and earlier there was an adult shooing everyone out but it seemed that he got too tired and just gave up. No surprised. It was the same every dance. Most people came to this gym to make out or drink. Iggy and I weren't doing neither but instead we just talked. Until I zoned out that is.
"Ella?" Iggy asked again. He gave me a concerned look. One of many this night.
"Um yah?" I said with a shake of my head.
"Are you okay? I've been trying to get your attention for the past five minutes" He said as his frown deepened. I couldn't help but admire him. Tonight Iggy looked handsome as ever. His reddish tinted hair was styled to look not to formal but not too I-was-forced-here-against-my-will-by-a-girl-so-I'm-not-even-going-to-bother either. If that makes sense. And Iggy looked nice in a suit. Different but a good different. And unfortunately, for me at least it appeared that almost every other girl saw it too. If looks could kill I would be six feet underground by now. No, more like at the center of the earth.
"Oh, sorry. I've just been distracted lately. I have a lot on my mind." I apologized.
"I can see that." Iggy said causing me to blush in mostly embarrassment.
"So what's the issue" My blood ran cold at his question.
"Issue? What issue? I never said anything about an issue and there isn't an issue. Psh, what made you think there is a problem. I'm fine. Perfect actually. Never been better actually!" I stammered out in one breath. I was answered with a very flabbergasted look from Iggy.
"Okay, spill. You just pulled a Nudge and a Max. There's something definitely going on." He stated.
"A Max?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Max always word vomits whenever she's beyond nervous or anxious. Which you just did." He explained with a wave of his wrist. "So spill"
I opened my mouth as I was about to tell him the news but I couldn't seem to form any words. I couldn't. Not now at least. The time and setting weren't right.
"I'll tell you later. At a better time. Please" I begged, the last word sounding desperate. Iggy seemed to catch the message and nodded his head.
"Later but you are telling me, Ella. Like it or not."
Not like I have much of a choice.
"Of course."
Soon.
…
"Where's Max and Fang?" I asked Nudge after we returned to the main dance.
"I dunno. Last time I saw them they were eating each other's faces of in one of the hallways then they seemed to have disappeared." Nudge shrugged. She pulled out a mirror and some lipstick out of her purse and plastered on some more sense it appeared that somehow it had magically teleported all over Jake's face. Figures.
"That's odd. Wonder where they went" I said, mostly to myself.
"Who knows? Maybe they finally hooked up." Nudge said nonchalantly.
"I doubt it. Max seemed pretty determined to wait earlier. Good for her too." I said, thinking back to what had occurred to me. I shook my head. That's in the past, I have to stop thinking about that and move on. Well, not fully move on because I have to acknowledge the outcomes as well. The good and the bad ones.
"Anything can happen tonight. Both of them had something to drink and Max did seem somewhat tipsy earlier, not sure about Fang, and they seemed to be pretty heated back at the hall." She finished as she rubbed her lips together then giving a final pop and putting everything away before standing up. "Now if you excuse me, the dance floor is calling my name! Let's go Jake!" With a final flip of her perfect hair she walked into the crowd of sweaty bodies grinding up against each other with her beloved boyfriend right at her heels.
I let Nudge's words sink in. No, Max has too many morals to let that happen. Well it wasn't a crime to sleep with her boyfriend though. Especially considering how serious they were. I just hoped the same thing doesn't happen to her that happened to me. She has a bright future ahead of her.
"So where did Nudge say my sister and Fang went?" Iggy asked as he took a seat beside me, a half-eaten chocolate cupcake with the frosting licked off in his hand.
"Umm, she said that she hasn't seen them since we arrived" I lied. I couldn't necessarily tell him that they were last seen having a hot and heavy make out session and it's a possibility that they are currently half drunkenly hooking up.
"I saw her drinking earlier. She might have had Fang taken her home or something due to feeling sick or something" Iggy simply said as he shoved the last remains of his cupcake. It was odd seeing him so laid back and loose. Almost like the same new kid Iggy that appeared on the first day of school months back.
I leaned up and with my thumb wiped some chocolate frosting off the corner of his lip, giving him a smile. I had gotten close enough that I could smell his intoxicating scent in fact. Iggy smiled in return. Still close, our eyes locked and eye once again for the millionth time found myself hypnotized by his captivating deep blue eyes. His eyes darted down to my lips, licking his own. His eyes returned to mine as if asking for permission. I swallowed and without a second thought closed the gap between us. The moment our lips met I felt the fireworks explode all over again as tingling sparks shot through my body from my lips to my fingertips all the way to my toes.
We must have been like that for a while for Nudge and Jake returned and Nudge made us pull apart.
"Hey lovebirds, can't you make out somewhere else?" She giggled. I blushed and got up from Iggy's lap. When did I even get on his lap? Iggy chuckled and gave me a quick final peck before I sat down beside him.
"So I would ask if either Fang or Max returned but considering you two were far too busy in a very intense game of tonsil hockey, I don't believe you would have noticed either way." Jake said with a smug smile.
"Whatever, man." Iggy said as he got up and went towards the snack table again, grabbing another cupcake.

Max's POV
.
The next morning after the dance everyone practically bombarded me with countless amounts of questions about Fang's and I's disappearance.
After assuring not only my best friends but most importantly my brother's or more like the brother that actually cares, that my boyfriend and I hadn't done anything but instead gone to his house to watch some movies and hang out with his younger sister whom he ended up needing to babysit. So yah, quite anticlimactic right?
But today which is also the first day of winter break it began to snow. Nothing big, just a light dust but considering I've rarely seen snow fall first handedly it was amazing but that wasn't what I was going to say.
Ella had called me early in the morning saying it was a girl emergency in which I instantly invited her over.
So this is how I ended up with a sobbing Ella whom won't tell me what's wrong at seven o'clock in the morning while everyone else was enjoying the start of winter break by sleeping.
…
What's wrong with Ella, hmm?
I'm really sorry for the short chapter but this was actually left overs from the last that I just needed to touch up.
I hopefully will update the next chapter by the end of the week! I have big plans for these next coming up chapters!
P.S. I lost the game!

Question of the Chapter: Just out of curiosity, who was your least favorite character from the Maximum Ride books? I think I've already asked that, not sure but oh well.
My response: Angel. She had actually been one of my favorite characters in the beginning up to the part she became a helpless brat, you know wanting to take over the fact many times, leading Fang to his death, backstabbing Max countless times, and setting Max and Dylan up together and all.
