Meggie's POV

My eyes flutter open and I find myself laying in my warm bed. I glance at the alarm clock on my nightstand and sigh when I realize that it's only seven-thirty in the morning. No matter how hard I try, I can never sleep in on the weekends.

I walk into the kitchen and smile when I see my moms eating delicious blueberry pancakes.

"Who made pancakes?" I ask them curiously.

"That would be me." Paige says with a proud smile.

"You never cook!" I say as my eyes grow wide with shock.

"Special occasion." Paige says with a shrug.

"What's special about today?" I ask them.

My moms share an uneasy glance, and I stare at them confused.

"Are you hiding something from me?" I ask with hurt in my voice.

"No, we'll talk about this tonight." Emily says before she kisses my forehead lovingly.

"Okay." I say as I put a blueberry pancake on my plate.

I take a seat at the kitchen table and dig into my breakfast, but I stop eating when my phone begins to buzz. A nervous sigh escaped my lips when I realize that A sent me a text message.

Want to see what your former lover is up to? Go to the Grille to find out.

-A

What could Zach be up to? It really isn't my business since he's not my boyfriend anymore, but what if he is in trouble?

"I'm going to go for a run." I say as I start to walk towards the door.

"You haven't even finished your breakfast." Emily says as she glares at me suspiciously.

"I'm not hungry." I say with a shrug

"Is everything okay?" Paige asks me concerned.

"Yeah, I just need some fresh air." I say as I sprint out of the house.

Line Break

I run up to the Rosewood Grille and find a seat in the very back of the restaurant. I look around the crowded room, but I can't find Zach anywhere. Right before I'm about to leave, Zach enters the building. I quickly sit back down so he won't notice me.

He takes a seat near the window and glances at his watch nervously. He has his hair slicked back, and he's wearing his best shirt. Why is he so dressed up?

I get my answer when I see Hazel O'Hara walking towards Zach's table.

"Sorry I'm late." She says as she takes a seat across from him.

"Don't worry about it." Zach says with a warm smile.

A startled gasp escapes my lips when Zach leans in and kisses Hazel! How has he moved on so quickly? Just yesterday he was at my house begging for my forgiveness.

"You look beautiful." Zach tells Hazel softly.

"You look good too." Hazel says with a blush.

I've never to been so angry or jealous in my entire life. Part of me wants to run up to Zach and slap him as hard as I can for making me feel this way. The other part of me wants to kiss him passionately, and tell him that I want him back.

Every part of me wants to scream at Hazel, and tell her to stay away from my man. Well, my old man.

I try to listen in on more of their conversation, but they're speaking in a hushed tone. It's almost as if they're keeping some big secret from everyone in the restaurant.

After talking intensely for a few minutes, Zach kisses Hazel for the second time today. I feel sick to my stomach, and I can't watch anymore of this. I sigh before sneaking out of the restaurant through the back door.

As soon as I'm in the parking lot, I begin to weep bitterly. Breaking up with Zach was hard, but seeing him with Hazel was even worse. How many other girls has he called beautiful and kissed? Was I just meaningless fling to him? Obviously he never loved me, because if he did he wouldn't be on a date with Hazel a week after our break-up!

"Meggie, are you okay?" I hear a familiar voice ask.

I turn around and see Carter O'Hara staring at me intently.

"I'm fine." I say with a sniffle.

"You seem upset, do you want to talk about it?" He asks me softly.

"Not really." I say as I shake my head slowly.

"Is it about that stupid Zach kid? I know you two just broke up, and my sister is on a date with him as we speak." Carter says as he stares into my brown eyes.

His words cause me to start crying even harder, if that's humanly possible.

"Hey, don't cry. You deserve so much better." Carter tells me gently.

"H-how could he do this to me? We broke up a week ago!" I say with a mix of hurt and anger in my voice.

"He wanted you back, remember? It isn't fair for you to hold a grudge over him for moving on with someone else." Carter tells me seriously.

"I know, but it still sucks." I tell him truthfully.

"Do you want to get back him?" Carter asks me with a mischievous smile.

"How?" I ask him curiously.

"Just follow my lead." He says before winking at me.

Line Break

Carter leads me into the Grille, and walks up to a hostess.

"Table for two please." He says before grabbing my hand and squeezing it lightly.

"We can seat you over there." The hostess says as she gestures towards a table far away from Zach and Hazel.

"No, I want to sit by the window." Carter says before handing the woman a twenty.

"Yes Sir." The hostess says before leading us to the booth next to Zach and Hazel.

Carter sits on one end of the booth, and I climb into the other.

"Meggie my darling, why are you so far away?" Carter asks loudly so his sister and my ex boyfriend can hear.

"That's a good question." I say as I take a seat next to Carter.

A smile spreads across my face when I see Zach glance up from his menu. I can't tell if he's angry, jealous, or both.

"You're still to far away." He says with a wink.

"Um okay." I say as I move even closer to him.

"I'm a little cold, why don't you just sit on my lap?" He asks as he nudges me.

"Sure." I say as I crawl onto his lap.

"I love you so much kitten." Carter says as he strokes my dark hair.

Kitten? Did he really just call me kitten?

"I love you too." I say as I stare at the ground.

"Show me how much you love me." Carter says in a husky voice.

At this point, Zach looks like he has steam pouring out of his ears.

"How would you like me to do that?" I ask as I rest my head on Carter's strong chest.

Carter responds by leaning in and kissing me forcefully. This kiss is nothing like the gentle and sweet ones that Zach and I use to share, it's a lot more rough, and there's a lot more tongue. To my surprise, I'm actually enjoying the passionate kiss.

"Um excuse me, but I'm trying to keep my breakfast down. Please keep this a little more PG, ABC Family maybe." Zach says furiously.

Carter and I ignore Zach and continue to make-out in the booth.

"Would you two knock it off?" Hazel asks in annoyance.

"Why don't you two just get back to your date and leave me and my girlfriend alone?" Carter growls as he breaks the kiss.

"Since when is she your girlfriend?" Zach challenges.

"Since I got bored with you." I fire back.

"Really? You got bored with me?" Zach asks as he stands up.

"Yup, you're not wild like Carter is." I say with a smirk.

"Meggie, you wouldn't even let me touch your boobs." Zach says with an eye roll.

"What's your point?" I ask him.

"You're not a wild girl, and I don't know why you're trying to act like one." He says in frustration.

"Proves that you don't know anything about me." I say as I lean in to kiss Carter.

"Why don't you two just save it for the bedroom?" Zach shouts.

"Why don't you just stay the Hell away from us? She isn't your girlfriend anymore, so I don't know why you care so much." Carter says as he stands up to face Zach.

"Because it's disgusting to watch you two eat each other's faces off while I'm trying to eat." Zach says in response.

"Is this really about your stupid breakfast? I think you're struggling to accept the fact that you're not good enough for this beauty." Carter says as he gestures towards me.

Hazel and I both gasp when Zach punches Carter in the face.

"What the Hell man?" Carter asks as he clutches his swelling cheek.

Zach punches Carter again, but this time harder.

"Dude, you're frikken dead!" Carter screams before body slamming Zach.

Carter begins to hit Zach, as he pins him to the ground.

"Carter stop, you're going to hurt him!" I exclaim.

"Carter, you can't fall back into this pattern." Hazel says as tears begins o form in her eyes.

"Boys that's enough." The manager of the restaurant says as he pulls the feuding boys away from each other.

"Thank you." I mutter under my breath.

"All four of you better leave, before I call the cops!" The manager yells.

"Come on Meggie." Carter says before grabbing my hand and leading me out of The Grille.

"Carter, you took this way to far!" I say as soon as we are away from Zach and Hazel.

"Once I get going I can't stop." Carter says with a heavy sigh.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I ask him confused.

"You should just stay away from me Meggie. I'm dangerous, and I don't to hurt you." Carter tells me softly.

"I don't think I can stay away from you." I say before pulling him in for a kiss.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." Carter says before returning the heated kiss.
