McCoy looked across the table to the object of his desire; there was nothing better, nothing he wanted more in the entire galaxy than to plunge straight in. Yet there was something holding him back. It wasn't that he was shy, far from it; it just wasn't quite the right moment yet. He looked down and saw his hand was shaking, had it been so long? Had he fallen so far that the very thought of this was making his whole body tremble? Clearly that was the case. He took a deep breath and forced his body under control. Get it together man! He told himself. The scent drifted past his nose and flooded his mouth with saliva. He swallowed. It was going to be the best, it was going to be magnificent, it was going to be…

"Are you going to eat that?" Jenny said. He looked up.

"Of course."

"Because you've gone rather pale and I was wondering, if you don't want it…" she said, smiling in the pretty way she did.

"I'm fine." McCoy replied. He grabbed the base of the huge glass and picked up his spoon. Maybe he should have saved this for a time when he could eat it alone. No, that would have made him throw up. He handed a spoon to Jenny, "We can share it though." Jenny beamed back at him and together they dug their spoons into the biggest Nicker-bocker-special ice-cream wonder McCoy had ever seen. Tasting it was better than heaven, it was pure love!
