So, here's chapter 52.

Thanks to doctor Anthony for helping out with writing some of the scenes and proof reading.

A squad of Phoenix Group mercenaries could see that Ben was climbing the wall with Maddy hanging onto him with her arms wrapped around his neck. Three of the soldiers that were patrolling that part of the fence started shooting after him.

"Stop shooting you idiots!" Hooper yelled as he knew what might happen if the Shannon girl was injured or worse.

"Shoot to maim only and the girl is not to be harmed in any circumstance!" He ordered.

Knowing what the mercenaries now knew from experience, they rated Ben as a moderate to high threat while the other soldiers outside the colony were rated a low threat and would be dealt with as soon as the other objectives were done.

In the jungle, just out of sight from the colony Kono was looking into a binocular and saw how it seemed as if every merc in Terra Nova was converging both from inside and outside the fence, he quickly grabbed a sighted rifle from one of the squad and was keeping an eye on Ben and Maddy, anyone got close to them and they'd get a bullet to the brain.

As soon as Ben's feet touched the ground he still with Maddy clinging on for dear life he broke into a sprint to reach the jungle as fast as he was physically able.

Tashaya was furious at the night's events and she checked her plex and smiled while she was inputting new directives…

Mark and his squad waited as they could see Ben running with Maddy on his back.

There was no fire coming from the colony despite Ben and Maddy by now was fully visible.

"Of course, they want Maddy unharmed for their evil experiments." Mark thought angrily as he just in case had spread his squad out to offer covering fire.

Moments later – with each moment feeling like a separate eternity – Ben ran into and under the visual protection of the jungle and Ben finally slowed down to let Maddy down.

Mark called his other soldiers to prepare to move out and gave Maddy a quick hug that she returned.

"You're safe, Maddy, I've been so worried about you." Mark said with his voice almost breaking at the thought of again sensing the scent and warmth of her body.

"I was so worried about never seeing you again Mark." Maddy nearly sobbed against Mark's chest.

"Time enough for that later, let's go." Ben said in a low tone that brook no argument, and they all started moving.

Ben touched his com and contacted Taylor.

"Commander, Shannon here. It's a little too crowded here, we'll meet up with you at the secondary rendezvous point, over and out." He whispered simply and cut the com as they were moving away from the colony and into the thick jungle growth.

A few raindrops had started to fall and Ben knew it would soon be a downpour by the smell of humidity in the air, which was good as it would make it a little more difficult for any pursuers.

But from farther away eyes watched them through binoculars from a trio that was fast on their track, eyes that seemed as if lifeless but still with a terrifying single-minded purpose…

At the colony at the infirmary Tashaya realised that someone had tampered even with the Unisols commands.

"This is impossible, our organization is the only one that even know how to produce and control Unisols?!" She thought and tried rectifying it but just as with the other computer sabotage, this would take hours to sort itself out.

She instead contemplated other matters.

The extraction that Commander Taylor and his ragtag – except for Ben Shannon – band of usually young security soldiers had pulled off and extracted the entire Shannon family.

"Now the only one that could have known was the lovely but misguided Doctor Elisabeth Shannon. But she has not the technical expertise to actually pull it off not to mention get through my codes without tripping the security programs." She thought.

Then she chuckled…

"Clever girl." She chuckled, she remembered just how smart Maddy Shannon was and how devilishly talented she was at figuring things out.

Miss Shannon had made a real mess and had obviously meant to do so, as Tashaya managed to reactivate some of the combat protocols for the Unisols…

"Well, this should be interesting to truly test out Benjamin's abilities against these old relics." She mused…

On their way to Snakehead Falls for the secondary rendezvousing with Ben's and Reynold's squad, Taylor told Jim and Kono what Kara had told him about this group on Earth who was opposed to the employers of the Phoenix Group back in 2149.

He showed them a communicator that was capable of reaching 2149 and Kono recognized the frequency saying "That particular frequency is used by an infamous terror group in Asia, who exactly is this group?"

Taylor shrugged his shoulders and said "In this case the enemy of my enemy is my friend." And then added.

"Well, Miss DeMere also indicated that some of these people are old friends of Ben's." He said.

"Like childhood friends?" Kono blurted.

"I think more like old war buddies." Taylor corrected.

"How come Bennyboy never told us about any of his war buddies?" Kono wondered.

"Could be because most of `em are dead?!" Jim noted.

"Though seriously, why the hell would Ben consort with terrorists?" Kono pointed out slightly annoyed at the implication.

"They may not have started out as such and there's so much more that we or Ben for that matter don't know about his past." Taylor replied.

Jim sat back and felt Elisabeth's arm around his shoulders, Zoe was sitting in her lap sleeping soundly with Josh sleeping next to her in his seat.

Elisabeth had listened to all of what the three men had said in hushed tones.

"I wonder if it may be such a good idea for Ben to learn of his past…" She thought as the convoy trundled through the jungle…

Above the small convoy the rain had started to pour down and the occasional lightning lit up the sky…

It took the entire night most of the following day until Ben was satisfied they had shaken any possible pursuers.

With Ben sort of crazy Ivan scouting trips behind them.

As it was they arrived at Snakehead Falls two days later, with very little sleep they were exhausted, so Ben ordered them to take refuge at the cliffs next to the falls in a cave with the Rhino placed at the opening with the heavy sonic support weapon pointing outwards.

It had been raining almost nonstop for the three days they had been on the run and Ben deduced that it may have delayed Taylors convoy as well.

"We'll take a brake here, I'll take first watch." Ben said.

After an hour or so Ben noticed someone moving behind him but sat perfectly still as he knew who it was.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping Reynolds?" He whispered as to not wake up the rest.

Mark nearly jumped out of his skin as he was actually trying to move silently, he then walked up and sat down next to Ben.

"Sorry, sir, I couldn't sleep." Mark whispered, not wanting to wake those that was sleeping including Maddy that had finally fallen asleep.

Even though he had a lot easier to connect with the older man as they were both soldiers, he was still a bit scared of Ben though unlike his brother Jim – Ben was subtler.

Ben kept his eyes on the pouring rain outside the cave opening, reminding him of a waterfall.

"Peaceful, isn't it?" Ben then asks watching the rain and the thick jungle and listening to the sounds.

"I guess so." Mark replied, he could agree there was a certain serenity to the jungle.

Then Ben seemed to tense and Mark could even see his ears tense as if the older man was listening intently.

"You stay here Reynolds, wake the other as quietly as you can and make sure everyone is ready to move out." Ben ordered.

Mark quickly got up as Ben was already on his feet hunched as he moved toward the rhino and the entrance.

"What is it sir?" He whispered but Ben had already left the cave and had disappeared into the jungle…

As Mark and the others was making the rhino ready for departure they were being observed by three pair of eyes.

The leading unisol gestured to the others to spread out as they now moved in for capture.

One of the soldiers in Reynolds's squad looked out of the cave as the rain had now finally stopped and saw the three unidentified soldiers coming at them.

"Look alive guys, we've got incoming." He barked and soon Reynolds and his squad were at the ready with Maddy staying behind in the rhino, she was terrified as she had hoped these things were deactivated

"That's far enough!" Reynolds shouted to the three soldiers coming at them as if they didn't even notice the weapons targeted at them.

"Madelyn Shannon, surrender yourself and you will be safe soon." The leader ordered and seemed as if he ignored Reynolds and his squad.

"Madelyn Shannon, surrender to us or I will order the unisols to exterminate these men." The Leader of the unisols ordered again this time threateningly.

It was as if someone was speaking through him…

One of Mark's soldiers in his anxiety fired off a shot into one of the approaching soldiers, hitting one of them in the leg and he simply continued walking as if nothing had happened.

"Open fire!" Reynolds ordered and fired his rifle.

Now though the unisols took shelter.

The leader visually made sure that Maddy was indeed in the rhino transport close to the Terra Novians.

- Primary target: Madelyn Shannon, Non-combatant-Threat level: None, Priority: Capture alive and unharmed at all cost-

-Terra Nova security soldiers- target priority: non-important- Threat level: Low-

Tactical assessment: Primary target too close to combat zone- risk of injury to primary target: moderate-

Solution: Use of non-lethal weapons only-

The leading unisol contacted the other two via the computer chips in their brains and all three threw sonic grenades at the cave opening on minimal yield.

"Take cover!" Reynolds ordered only too late as he and most of his squad was surprised at the throwing distance of these strange soldiers and got knocked unconscious.

The Ben came hurtling out of the jungle like a comet from behind the unisols knocking one of them to the ground and fired his pulse rifle at a second.

The leader assessed the situation…

-Error- Secondary target present- Benjamin Shannon- Callsign: Wolverine- Status: Elite unit-Project Darkstar-Target priority: Detain if possible terminate if necessary-Threat level: High-

Not far from Snakehead Falls Taylor's convoy had stopped briefly to wait for the rain to stop as vision in the downpour was next to impossible.

Commander Taylor was standing and talking with Wash when suddenly they could hear gunshots and automatic fire.

As well as several booms.

Diana Shackleford who was helping Kono and Reilly with some adjustment to one of the rhinos pricked her ears.

"That sounded like automatic fire, sir." Alicia noted as they looked in the direction of the sounds.

"And that sounded like sonic shock grenades as well sir." Shackleford pointed out as she was the expert.

"That has to be Ben and Reynolds, they may need help." Kono said.

Taylor nodded.

"Alright let's get this show on the road, I want one rover on point with outriders to make sure we don't drive straight into whatever's going on up ahead." Taylor ordered and everyone hurried to their vehicles.

"Let's roll out!" Taylor bellowed as the convoy started up again towards the sound of battle, driving through the jungle at high speed just after the point rover…

Ben was fighting at his outmost straining his endurance to its limits fighting these strange soldiers.

He had managed to take two down in quick succession by knocking one down and shooting another in the chest.

Now he had made contact with the third and all of a sudden, the two other soldiers had mysteriously gotten back up and the three were ganging up on him.

A quick glance and he could see some of Reynolds's squad getting back up – and that moment of inattentiveness cost him as what felt like iron-hard knuckles made contact with his jaw and made him stagger backwards and then had his hands full defending against the next attacks.

A sonic rifle blast just in front of his feet made Ben fly backwards…

"Ugh!" He grunted in pain.

"Give it up Benjamin, you cannot fight three unisols at the same time." The leader said.

Ben was now on the ground trying to clear his head and just barely avoided the kick from the closest unisol.

He was quickly on his feet and a spin kick later made the unisol make a pirouette in mid-air and fall down.

"Why do you even resist?" The leader asked as he together with the third unisol grabbed Ben and threw him straight through a dead tree that splintered into pieces.

Ben was now on all fours and spit out some blood as his lip had been cracked and he had thanks to the fall bit his inner chin.

At Terra Nova in her lab Tashaya Radcliff who was observing the fight and was the one talking through the leader unisol. She smiled and was impressed at how well Ben was actually doing despite the fact he was losing.

"All I want is to create a master race and Madelyn is the key to this, is that not worth something?" The leader asked.

That was the final straw, Ben now realised that this Radcliff woman was behind this.

He could feel his rage rising, the same rage he had felt once over twenty years past… in Somalia but this time he welcomed it.

"You'll never use Maddy or any innocent person ever again!" He growled angrily.

He rose picking up the log of the dead tree and threw it with all his might against the assembled and totally unprepared unisols that went down like bowling pins.

"I'll take these freaks on and then I'm coming for you!" He growled.

"I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" He bellowed

Ben could see nothing but a red haze of blazing fury, and though he could not see it but Maddy and Mark could see there were TEARS OF BLOOD coming from his eyes and the eyes that looked as if they glowed red…

At her lab Tashaya was surprised by several orders of magnitude as she watched how Ben charged at the unisols practically howling with rage.

The unisols spread out as they tried to counter the attack, it was too late for the one closest to Ben as the Darkstar trooper drove his knife into the unit's helmet and straight into the brain destroying the unisol immediately.

"This shouldn't be possible!" She exclaimed incredulously.

"Have I completely misunderstood the nanobots?" She asked herself and tapped down some new orders.

The almost glowing red eyes was nothing of her doing, whatever it was it must have something to do with the nature of the nanobots themselves… considering where they originally came from – from who or what –

But Madelyn was most important and now her father was becoming a serious obstacle.

She could always use the Phoenix soldiers as well as reinforcements to secure Madelyn but not as long as Ben Shannon was there to protect her or the others.

The unisols could be easily replaced after all…

The two remaining unisols got the order.

-TERMINATE SECONDARY TARGET AT ALL COSTS-

Ben had never been so attuned to his abilities as his body felt as if he could go on forever as he killed the first unisol and then went for the two others.

One had managed to get a sonic pulse rifle but too late as Ben grabbed his arm and then as the unisol was slightly bent over Ben half rolled over the man's back and round kicked the third in one swift move and spun around and fell into the underbrush.

And while the leader seemed to have been taken out from the ferocity of Ben's attack, Ben then grabbed the unisol he had half vaulted over and with every bit of strength broke his neck all the while he roared in red hazed rage.

And he got after having made sure the unisol was dead and went to pick up his knife that was still jammed into the side of the head of the first unisol he killed.

He sheathed his knife and looked around as the haze was going away and he realised the others.

Reynolds's squad was now on their feet and several of them stared at the scene, Maddy was approaching along with Reynolds, Ben could also hear the distinct sound of rover engines along with motorcycles they sometimes used for scouting in the distance.

"Sir, I've got a com from the commander, he says they'll be here soon." Mark reported.

Maddy looked relieved despite what she no doubt must have seen.

Maddy could see Ben seemed as if whatever power that had just propelled him to kill those three unisols was leaving him as he looked exhausted as he was standing not far from the cliff.

He looked at her and she could see the tears of blood from his eyes but he looked normal now and then she could see the last of the unisols getting up and charging at him.

"LOOK OUT!" She yelled but too late as Ben turned towards the danger the unisol rammed into him.

"UGH!" He grunted as they both went over the cliff into the churning waterfall.

"NOOOOO!" Maddy screamed in despair…

That was chapter 52 at last, please I hope y'all enjoyed it and give me some reviews.
