I've had many people asking is Cat was going to die, if I was going to save Allison... so let me tell you this...
I'm not going to tell you!
All I can tell you is that, yes, in another story, after this one, Cat will be going to Starling City. Cat will be back for season 3 of her story... season 4 of teen wolf in ANOTHER story... I just can't tell you when or which episode she'll be back in though...:D
Enjoy.
… … …
Scott closed his eyes, listening hard for something before barking orders at the twins, telling Stiles and Cat to talk to Coach before the wolves took off.
"What the hell is going on?" Coach asked. "Where the hell have you been Stilinksi?"
Cat's phone rang and she pulled it out to see Allison was calling her. She let Stiles handle the explanation as she stepped back to answer.
"Are you- are you around?" Allison hesitantly asked.
"Yeah, I got back this morning. Is Isaac okay?" Her heart leapt in her throat, wondering if the other girl was calling with bad news.
"Yes, actually, there's not much change." She sighed. "Look, Lydia has this crazy idea to talk to Peter and I won't let her go alone. I can handle Peter but I'd really much prefer if you were there too. You seem to be able to deal with him easier than anyone I know."
Cat frowned, watching as Stiles and Coach Finstock took off, probably to head off all the students before disaster struck and Cat knew she had to follow them. Why couldn't one of her super powers have been the ability to be in two places at once?
"Are you going there now?" She asked. "I just need to deal with something here, can I meet you there?"
"Yes, we're not heading there right away, I'm still trying to talk Lydia out of it, so I'll stall for now."
Cat hung up with her and took off after everyone, catching up in time for Scott to yell a warning at the coach but it was too late, he had tripped a wire, triggering a crossbow to go off, shooting him in the stomach.
"Oh crap." Coach muttered before falling backwards.
Everyone rushed to him, Cat pushing her way to the front to crouch down beside Scott.
"Get everyone away from here." She hissed at him, needing room to work.
"You can't heal him in front of everyone." He pointed out. "If you take on his wound, everyone will notice."
"I can help a little." Cat replied. "That's why you need to get everyone to back off."
On the ground, Coach began to scream bloody murder as he yelled at them to get it out of him, that he was going to die.
"Coach, you're not going to die." Stiles told him.
"I'm going to die." He continued screaming.
Cat reached over and touched his forehead, pushing it back to the ground as she forced feelings of calmness into him, wanting him to calm down. She gave Scott a pointed look and when the Alpha didn't react, Aiden began yelling for everyone to back off. They did and Cat let go of his head, her hands hovering over the wound when Scott stopped her.
"Let me take some of his pain away." He quietly murmured and she watched him do just that before she reached over and in one fell swoop, yanked the arrow out, her hands coming up to cover the wound as she closed her eyes and focused on closing it.
"You're bleeding." Aiden hissed at her, just as Scott yanked her hands away.
"Let the hospital finish healing him."
She nodded, taking the sweatshirt Aiden offered her and putting it on over her now bloody shirt.
"I think he passed out." The former alpha noted.
Stiles sat back, staring at the blood on his hands as they shook. "I-I could've killed him. What if is was his head or-or his throat…?"
"But it wasn't." Scott reminded him. "And he's going to be all right."
"I hear an ambulance." Aiden announced.
"I've done all I can for now." Cat whispered, looking up at Scott. "Allison needs my help."
"With what?" He asked.
She shrugged. "She just asked for my help. By the way, she knows, about us."
He looked confused and she rolled her eyes. "She knew there was a real us and we weren't faking. Just thought I should give you a heads up. I'll catch up with you soon."
She didn't stop to wait for him to shake himself out of his stupor over it, instead she stood up and took off running, glad they weren't too far from the hospital. Her car was still there and maybe some clothes, too. She could change while she drove, right?
After picking up her car, Cat reached her old place just as Lydia and Allison stepped inside, not noticing she had pulled up. She hurried in after them in time to hear Peter.
"The Hunter and the Banshee."
"Don't forget about little ole me." Cat called out, stepping into the room.
"Ah, yes, who could forget the Seer." Peter's reply was chock full of sarcasm and Cat couldn't help but grin.
"Good to see you're still sounding all sorts of creepy and I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're not happy to see me."
"Not at this time, why not come back later?"
She let out a small giggle. "Because I know how much you want me gone so you can work on getting what you want, so for that reason, I think I'm going to stay right here."
Peter shook his head, looking at Lydia. "They go."
She cocked her head to the side. "The last time I was alone with you, I almost bled out on the lacrosse field, they stay."
"You really think I was trying to kill you? When I bit you, you were my back up plan. Not to mention the bite is what brought up your latent abilities. You think power like that was just going to come out on it's own?" He let out a few clucks. "I'm the spark that lit your fire, sweetheart."
"Gag me." Cat muttered at his cheesy Humphrey Bogart accent.
"You attacked her and nearly killed her." Allison said with a glare.
"Power doesn't come without a little pain or struggle."
"I didn't ask for it." Lydia snapped.
Peter could only smirk at her. "But you're embracing it now, aren't you?"
"How about the fact that you brainwashed her and used her to bring yourself back to life?" Allison reminded him.
"So that I could be here today to help you master your abilities. Isn't it amazing how things come full circle?"
"He's insane, we're leaving." Allison grabbed Lydia's hand and turned to lead them out of the house but Cat didn't move, watching Peter with narrowed eyes.
"You want the truth, Lydia?" Peter called after them, making the two girls halt in their tracks, waiting for him to continue. "It's not the scream that gives you power, all the scream does is drown out the noise, allowing you to hear what you really need to and I can help you focus your hearing."
Lydia looked at Cat, who remained stoic as she stared at Peter, still trying to figure him out. So the redhead turned to face him, Allison following her.
"But you want something in return." Allison stated.
"No, I'm dedicating my life to helping out narcissistic teenage girls, of course I want something in return." Came Peter's sarcastic reply as he picked up a container with a triskele on the lid and opened it up, spilling it's contents on to the table.
"what, is that?" Lydia asked.
"The claws that belong to Talia."
Allison stepped forward and picked one up, examining it as her brow furrowed. "These are the claws of Derek's mother?"
Peter nodded. "My sister, Talia, before she died she stole a memory from me, something only a very powerful alpha can do. That memory is locked inside those claws."
"Why would your sister want to steal a memory from you?" Lydia asked with a smug smile.
"Well if I remembered the memory, I might be able to tell you.
"Stop acting like a bunch of five year olds. Why Lydia?" Cat now spoke, moving closer to see they were claws, wolf claws. "I mean, why not just ask me?"
"Ah, yes. If I had even known what a rare gem we had with you, Catalina, I very much doubt Lydia's powers would have been needed at all. But I am glad I awoken them because as we learned not so long ago, you can't find in our minds what's not there. The location of the Nemeton, for instance, Talia took the memory from us and you weren't able to find it so I very much think that this one is up to Lydia."
Lydia looked down at the claws. "So what am I supposed to do?"
"Take these and you need to focus." Peter told her.
Lydia nodded as she grabbed the claws and stepped away from the table, closing her eyes and letting out a deep breath as she tried to concentrate. After a few minutes of silence, Peter rolled his eyes.
"Focus." He barked at her.
"I am focusing." She snapped back.
"You're not. I can see the wheels spinning behind your eyes. Your hearing is attuned to a level of the universe that no one else can hear but only if you're listening."
Lydia turned away from him. "I am trying."
Cat pushed herself off the wall, just moments before Peter moved towards Lydia.
"Then try harder." Peter yelled just as Cat stepped in front of Lydia, a gun already pulled out of her jeans, and Allison pulled out an electroshock device, placing it by Peter's neck.
The former alpha turned to Allison, releasing his claws but she only looked down at them in amusement.
"Your aunt had one of those." Peter said with a smirk. "Auntie Kate."
"Stop goading her." Cat warned him. "Maybe you think you can take her but you know I have no problem shooting you."
"Stop it, all of you." Lydia warned them, stepping out from behind Cat.
He sighed. "You are far too trigger happy."
"Only around you." She replied with a sickly sweet smile. "So why not keep pushing me?"
"Stop it." Lydia screamed, turning and throwing the claws so hard, they embedded into the wall.
Everyone turned to look at them in shock before glancing back at Lydia who was now staring at them with her head cocked to the side. Cat briefly wondered what she could hear when Lydia brushed past her and suddenly Cat was assaulted by the whisperings that Lydia could hear. She didn't move though, even as the Banshee moved closer to hear better.
"Lydia?" Peter questioned. "Do you hear something? What is it? What are they saying? Is it the memory? What did Talia take from me?"
"Shut up." Cat hissed, closing her eyes so she could hear the voices. The memory whispered through her right then as arms grasped her shoulders and she opened her eyes to see Peter there, shaking her.
"You can hear it too?" He asked. "What is it?"
Cat knew Peter had grabbed her because Allison wouldn't let him near Lydia where as she would be able to deal with him and anything he tried to do but at that moment, Cat was shocked, far too shocked to say anything.
"You're not just an uncle." Lydia whispered for her.
Peter released Cat in shock as a myriad of emotions played across her face and Cat felt bad for him. He was a Father and Talia had stolen that memory from him, but why?
She was pulled from her musings as a vision hit her and she briefly wondered if it was the Nogitsune playing with her, sending her visions whenever he pleased.
"Holy mother of god, can this day get any worse?" She muttered, right as the bomb went off at the police station, showering Derek, who was covering Chris Argent with debris. She screamed as the glass shards pierced Derek backs and suddenly everyone was surrounding her as blood appeared on the back of her shirt.
"Cat." Allison cried. "What is it?"
The blonde ignored her, breathing through the pain and waiting for it to fade even as everyone, Peter included, kept trying to question her. When the pain had all but disappeared, she straightened up, looking at the other two teens with a grimace.
"We need to go."
"Go where?" Allison asked.
"Not until Lydia tells me more." Peter said, standing up and moving closer to Lydia.
"I don't know." Lydia said, as she began to back up towards the door. "I don't know it's name, or if it's a boy or a girl, if it's some mutated wolf baby."
"You're lying." Peter hissed. "Tell me what you know."
Cat motioned for Allison to move up behind the werewolf and when he went to grab the redhead, Allison struck him with her electric prod, sending him to the ground in a cry of pain.
"Let's go." Allison said, grabbing Lydia's hand and leading her out of the house.
Cat leaned over Peter, letting him see her gun. "I like you better than most people do, Peter. But if you come after of hurt Lydia or Allison in anyway, I will shoot you in the head and something tells me there's no coming back from that."
She straightened up and walked out of the house, ignoring Peter yelling for her and Lydia.
She followed the girls out to Allison's car, leaning in through the window.
"You know who it is?" She asked the redhead.
"Yeah, I do."
"Good, keep it to yourself." She glanced at Allison. "Well besides Allison, you know what I mean."
"What happened back there?" the brunette asked.
"A bomb at the police station. I'll explain later, just get away from here and we'll talk later, okay?"
Allison nodded, starting up the car and Cat waited until they pulled away before going back to hers and grabbing her phone, which she had left in there by accident. She had missed calls from Scott and Deaton as well as a text message from Scott asking her if she could get to the animal clinic. She opted to call Deaton back first, putting him on speaker as she pulled off her blood stained shirt and grabbed yet another one she had in the car.
"Catalina, is everything all right?" He asked by way of greeting.
"Depends on your definition of all right." She replied, quickly giving him a rundown of her day.
"Well, I have some good news, I was able to make the poison for the Nogitsune."
"Even if it's Stiles right now?"
He sighed. "I'm going to be honest right now and tell you that I don't think it is, I'm fairly certain the Nogitsune is in complete control now."
"So we were being tricked? But why?"
"That I can't tell you. But I have the poison, do you know where Stiles could be right now?"
"On his way to the animal clinic. Scott asked me to meet him there. What can I do?"
"I'm just bottling it. Get there and make sure you keep him there, we may need to hold him down."
"Got it." She replied, hanging up and turning the car towards the animal clinic.
It was pouring rain by the time she got there and Scott was busy fighting the Oni while Stiles tried to unlock the door before yelling for Kira to follow him. She ignored him, opting to help Scott out anyway she could. Cat pulled out some of her fighting daggers, knowing that shooting a gun would be too dangerous at the moment with her friends fighting them and she got out of the car to join the fight.
Immediately, two Oni descended upon her and Cat weaved the knives around as she spun, catching each of them across the stomach before moving out of the way.
"Cat?" Scott questioned before turning to kick one.
"Need some back up?" She asked, ducking out of the way of another one. When she straightened up, she saw Kira grab the arm of one and flip him over, looking down in shock. She looked up, first at Cat then at Scott, not quite believing what she had just done. Scott had also been watching in shock and because of that, he heard Cat's warning to late.
"Scott, no." Cat screamed, seeing too late the sword go through him. She turned, hoping she would have enough time to push him away but Scott was distracted by her scream and the Oni stabbed him in the stomach.
Kira screamed when it happened and she jumped forward to kick the Oni away.
"Come on." Stiles yelled, rushing to his best friends side. "Get him inside, get him inside."
Kira ran to his other side and Cat yelled that she would cover them and to look after Scott. They complied and Cat turned punching one in the face, at least she thought it was the face. But either way, it hurt and she hissed in pain before turning and kicking another in the stomach. She was quite enjoying this. She could hit them no problem but they couldn't get any offensive moves in, thanks to whatever forcefield her mind had erected. The only problem was her hits seemed to have very little effect on them and after a while, they had backed her up against the door, at an impasse.
She reached for the doorknob behind her and opened it, letting herself fall back into the clinic. They made to step forward but she quickly slammed the door in their faces and locked it.
"You're here."
She turned around to see Deaton looking at her in surprise but really, she was more surprised than him.
"Where did you come from?" She asked.
"There is more than one entrance. Are the others here?"
"Scott's been stabbed." She informed him.
From one of the back rooms, they heard Kira's cry of pain before the sound of something hit on of the tables. Deaton and Cat glanced at each other and he held a finger to his lips, motioning her to be quiet as he pointed at her, then one way before pointing at himself and another way, holding up a needle. Cat nodded, understanding what he meant and moved off down the hallway, towards the room Stiles, Scott and Kira were.
When she arrived, kira was on the ground while Stiles stood in front of Scott, twisting the sword in his stomach and demanding he give him all the pain and strife Scott had taken that day. He grabbed the side of Scott's head and black veins crawled up his arm.
"Stiles." Cat called, causing the teen to turn to he.
"Cat, I was wondering when you would reappear." He let go of Scott and turned towards her with a sneer. "I believe you have some pain and strife to give me too, huh?"
She frowned, holding out a hand. "Fine, take it, just please don't hurt Scott anymore."
He glanced at her hand suspiciously before looking back to her eyes. "You can't trick me Cat. You can't trick a Nogitsune. That's our job, we fool everyone."
"Not everyone." Deaton appeared beside him and before Stiles could turn around, he plunged the needle into his neck. The Nogistune reached for Deaton as he began to seize up, gasping for breath before falling to the ground and passing out.
Cat ran to Scott with a frown, quietening him when he tried to speak. She grasped the sword and in one fluid motion, pulled it out of him, letting it fall to the ground as she reached out to grab him.
"It's okay, I got you." She murmured.
"What- what was that?" He gasped out. "Was it a cure? Is he okay?"
"The fox is poisoned but he's not dead." Deaton explained, turning to look down at Stiles. "Not yet."
"Can you stand?" Cat asked, to which Scott nodded.
She let him go, kneeling down beside Kira and turning her over, just as she began to moan and lifted a hand to rub her head.
"What happened?"
Cat breathed a sigh of relief. "You got a hit to the head but it's okay, you'll be okay." She helped her stand before turning back to Scott and lifting his shirt to check out the wound. She lifted her other hand to help with the healing but he grasped her wrist.
"Don't Cat, you've healed enough today."
"I'm fine, I swear." She told him.
"It's already healing." He promised her. "I just need a couple more minutes."
She pursed her lips but didn't try again, knowing he wouldn't let her near him.
"Now what?" He asked his boss.
"Now we figure out a way to get the Nogitsune out of Stiles before the poison wears off."
"How long do we have?" Scott asked.
"I don't know." Deaton honestly replied.
Scott turned to Cat. "Do you know what to do now?"
She held up her hand and closed her eyes, pushing for a vision. Finally, something briefly flickered into view and she frowned, wondering why it was so fuzzy and almost far away but it was enough for her to go on and she opened her eyes.
"Yeah, Stiles is going to want to put himself into Eichen House."
"What?" Scott cried in disbelief. "Tell me you're kidding me, that's insane. We can't protect him if he's in there."
"It's okay, he won't be alone in there." Cat softly replied, looking down at the unconscious teen.
