Hey SPN Fam,
Dark here. Sorry I've been gone so long. Work stuff, and then family stuff. And then some good stuff. Like my husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary! :)
Also, Happy Easter if you celebrate. I know I've been busy decorating eggs with my nephews. But luckily they gave me a break so I could get this chapter posted.
Let me know what you think :)
18.
Dean stands back and checks over every single brush stroke. For the third time. He wanted no mistakes. Lilly eventually backed down when he had agreed to her conditions, so long as she agreed to his. He wasn't happy about the compromises, but no one seemed willing to knock her out. He was in charge of making sure she was safe. That's it. Once the demons showed up they weren't to interact. Him. Arguably one of the best hunters in the world. He had to take second chair to Lilly's lead.
"Are we good? Standards met?" Lilly breathes out her patience near its end.
"I'm with her, can we please just do this already?" Sam grinds out, annoyed.
"Sam, if we mess this up we can't go get Mae. So yes Lilly, I'm going to check it until I'm satisfied with it." Dean gives them a harsh glare before he goes back to his inspection.
"At least I'd just have ta worry about gettin' eaten by a snake for all eternity instead of worryin' 'bout what Satan is doin' to my sister, my currently five years old little sister." Lilly snaps back. "Fuckin' Satan Dean, the dude who made Lillith?"
"It looks like we're ready." Castiel quickly interjects, finding it difficult to be between the couple, and the brothers, when they were fighting.
"We were ready thirty minutes ago! Can you all please leave now! I have a fuckin' plan, a goo-" Lilly stops herself at the look in Dean's eyes, "Fine! A decentent enough plan. One where we all live and, bonus, Mae comes home unscathed. Please, just trust me this one fuckin' time."
Thoth and Castiel exchanged worried glances before Thoth vanishes.
Castiel walks over over to Bobby. "We all agreed to her conditions." He reminds the older hunter.
"I didn't agree ta shit." Bobby grumbles, but he nods. He just wanted Mae back, and they were between a rock and a hard place. He'd have sold his soul to get his god daughter back, but Lilly had assured him she was doing no such thing. He shoots one last worried look at Lilly as Castiel whisks him away.
"There Lilly. Conditions met. But Sam and I are staying to make sure you stay safe." Dean crosses his arms in front of his chest. She had wanted to be alone for the summoning, but he was putting his foot down on this.
Lilly rolls her eyes and turns to her mortar, already chanting. She cuts her palm and spills her blood into the bowl. She sends the brothers one last exasperated look, "Remember just stay in the corner. We're askin' a favor. No being dicks. No killin' them. I'm not selling my souls, so stay out of negotiations. Just this once, please, trust me to handle this." She snaps at them with a glare as she lights the match and looks at them expectantly.
The brothers nod as they back up into different corners. They watch each other stifly they settle against the walls to watch.
Lilly glares at them each one more time before she flicks the match into the bowl. A blast of light filling the garage and momentarily pinning the brothers to the wall, before it faded.
"Not this again. It's like I got drunk at a party and handed my number out." Crowley grumbles from the center of the summoning circle as he looks around. He grins when he finally turns to Lilly, "But for you love, I'm willing to make an exception to the inconvenience rule."
"My apologies your majesty, but I need to speak to you alone." Lilly smiles as she walks over to the closest demon. She whispers a quiet exorcism before she goes to the next one, repeating the action.
"What are you doing to my demon groupies?" Crowley asks as he looks at the remaining two demons summoned with him who were just as trapped.
"Would you rather I just kill them? It would be quicker..." Lilly trails off as she looks to him expectantly.
"No, please, by all means. Send my best back to hell." Crowley rolls his eyes. "I hope this is a good deal you're wanting, since you're inconveniencing me so."
"I'm sure we can work something out to make this worth your time." Lilly offers a small forced smile before she walks to the third and repeats the action on the third. This was a fine line she was walking, and she needed to make her moves carefully.
"You've gone through a lot to get me alone little girl." Crowley smirked and brings a hand up to rest a few fingers over his lips. "Sounds intriguing."
"Jus' now picking up on that sir?" Lilly asks as she forces herself to the fourth. She makes herself watch as the body falls to the floor, before she walks over to Crowley's circle. "So, alone at last. I have a proposition for you, where hopefully we can both walk away with something we want." She responds coolly as she looks up at him.
Crowley sighs as he looks over the meat suits on the floor. "You're starting to thin my herd out girly. I've had to kill four and now four are stuck in the pit. Oh well, since I'm here all trussed up like a turkey, what can I do for you?"
"I'm sure you're more than capable of scaring more into line, sir." Lilly responds coolly. "I need to find my sister, and I know you would be competent at locating her." She adds as she looks at him with a polite smile. Her patience was nearly spent with this shit, but she had to play this right. Too much was riding on this. Most importantly her sister.
Crowley suddenly looks over her shoulder into the far corners. "Winchesters, how did I not see you there. Even little, giant, Sammy. My my, what a surprise this is."
"Where the fuck is Lucifer hiding Mae?" Sam snaps, done with the 'pleasantries' now that Crowley had spotted them.
Crowley's eyes widen as he slowly turns back to Lilly. "Oh, so. I give you the gun you need to kill the S.O.B., and⦠Now, you want-"
"We suck," Lilly interupts as she shoots Sam a glare. He was going to fuck this up with his anger. "You're awesome. I know you know where your competition is. And we're not asking you to do this pro bono." She continues, redirecting the conversation.
Dean works his jaw in anger. He couldn't say anything, couldn't let Crowley bait him. He told Lilly he trusted her, and so far she hadn't stepped out of what she had planned. Still, the demon was acting shifty. "Sam." He growls out in warning.
Sam turns and meets Dean's challenging glare. Were they seriously just going to leave this to Lilly?
Dean narrows his eyes as he continues to glare at his brother. He knew that look in Sam's eyes. He'd seen it enough when they'd hunted with their dad, had seen it far more than he cared to remember last year when Sam had been secretly drinking demon blood. The time for questioning this plan was gone. They just had to stick to this. He could trust Lilly to get this part; he'd seen her work with Crowley before. Something about her mannerisms with the big headed demon gave her an easier time when dealing with him; or maybe it was something else, something more sinister. Either way, this was the hand they had decided to play and he was not going to let his brother screw this up in anger. Their safety, and Mae's rescue, depended on them all keeping cool heads right now. He gives Sam one very sharp head shake, his meaning clear; stop.
At Dean's head shake Sam crosses his arms and leans against the wall in frustration. This was ridiculous. They should just torture the little prick till he told them where Lucifer and Mae were. That's what he thought he had been signing up for, not this shit.
"So then, the devil well and truly has his lass then." Crowley shakes his head and sucks in air through his teeth. "I'd be pretty worried if I was you. He's going to start making babies with her, and then there goes the world's human and demon population."
Lilly stares at him as she tried to quell the bile crawling up her throat. "So you can see where agreeing to this would be beneficial for both of us."
Crowley tilts his head to the side as he continues to eye Lilly. "You realise wherever he has her is going to be like fort knox. He's got his bloody sheath, are you really just going to hand over his sword as well?" He turns to looks back at Sam.
Lilly narrows her eyes slightly. "We just need the location Crowley, we can handle it from there."
"I highly doubt it. But, in this instance love, I can't help you even if I wanted to." Crowley shrugs. "Lucifer continuously moves about, and I am not among those pandering demons that he trusts. I don't know where he is."
"I have a feeling he'll be stationary for a while. He's looking for something we have in our possession. Surely you are underselling yourself." Lilly counters with a polite smile.
Crowley shrugs. "Perhaps if you gave me the whole story. As I understand it now, you're hiding facts from me."
Lilly narrows her eyes slightly, but plasters a polite smile on her face. "You caught me. She's currently five. She got caught up in a curse. We have the caster. Satan has Mae. It's going to take a high level witch to cast a spell of that magnitude, which I'm sure they will be able to locate, but it will take time."
"Oh, well that's uncomfortable." Crowley grimaces before he turns to look at Sam. "When did you start dating five year olds?" His lips thin to a devious grin, "Isn't that, pedophillic."
"And we're done with that shit." Lilly demands unable to stop herself, her disgust written all over her face.
"An age spell countercurse⦠You're right, that will take them some time." Crowley rubs his fingers along his jaw as he contemplates. "Until then I'm sure dear ol' daddy is enjoying having another little girl to twist. Won't be long before I have a new mommy."
"Fuck this!" Sam growls as he pushes off the wall. "He obviously isn't gonna do this, let's just kill him and work on plan B." Sam snaps. They'd just given this demon the whole story and they were no closer to getting Mae back.
"Don't get your knickers in a twist Moose. True, I don't know where Lucifer is right now. But the misses is right, I can find them, for a price." Crowley crosses his arms in front of his chest. "I gave you the colt for free." He slowly rolls his eyes, "This favor won't be. I'm not a cheap whore after all."
Lilly turns and glares at Sam before she turns to look at Crowley appraisingly. "What do you want Crowley?" She asks as calmly as she can.
Crowley pulls out his cell phone, "I'm assuming you have one of these, being the rare breed of hunters that you are. Someone give me a number." He taps on his flat screened phone a few times before looking up.
Lilly nods as she recites her number.
Crowley keys it in and calls her.
Lilly can't help her blush as her phone vibrates between her breasts. She pulls it out and flips it open, saving his number.
"Cheeky little slip aren't you." Crowley smiles smugly at her. "That's my number. Fucking hells, bloody use it. Good help is impossible to find, and you keep killing them, or sending them to the pit."
"My apologies." Lilly offers with a small smile. "So we've exchanged numbers but not terms. What do you want Crowley?"
"I'll go do my thing and I will draw up a contract for the amount and type of favors I want in return for locating the devil and," He grins as he turns towards Sam, "an apparently Little Miss Mae."
Lilly nods. That was completely acceptable. "When can we expect the contract and location?"
"I'll call you when I have it all figured out. I don't know how long it's going take? Now, would someone kindly be a lady," Crowley shrugs. "Or a gentleman and let me out?"
Lilly nods her head, as she crouches down and takes the knife out of her boot and mars the ward.
"Excellent. See you later on then." Crowley dismisses himself before he disappears.
"Did he just agree to find Mae without sealing a contract with you first?" Dean asks as he walks up to her.
"Does it not normally work like that?" Lilly asks confused as she stands back up. "He said he needed to write up a contract." She sighs as she runs her fingers through her hair. How long were they going to have to wait?
Sam shakes his head, joining them around the broken seal. "No, that's not how it normally works. What the fuck is going on with that?"
"I don't know. Maybe he's not actually sure he can find them." Dean sighs, ridiculously uncomfortable with the entire situation. "Can we get back to looking into this ourselves? Maybe we'll catch a break and find them before that prick does."
"There's no way he can't. A guy like that, he's probably just making sure he gives the right information." Lilly shakes her head. "Cause we'll kill him."
Sam and Dean shake their heads as they glare down at her.
"What? I did everything I said I was going to do, how I said I was going to do it." Lilly frowns as she crosses her arms over her chest and meets their glares with disinterest.
"That's not how demons work Lilly. They're evil." Dean lets out a sigh.
"What's evil got to do with it?" Lilly frowns.
"They don't follow the same rules that humans do." Sam explains.
"He's got more at risk than we do if we don't get Mae back. Self preservation is a strong motivator." Lilly counters with a shrug.
Sam sighs. He couldn't argue with that. He just knew that it never ended well when you put all your hopes on a demon.
"Let's go back to the house and continue looking." Dean shakes his head as he gestures out the door. Bobby was probably biting at the bit for news, and Castiel probably wouldn't be much better.
AN2:
Hi again. Don't forget to let us know what you think of the chapter. I know we've had you stuck with mini Winchesters and girls for a long time, and even though I'm going through and rewriting a lot of this before it gets posted, I couldn't bear to rush this arc. So please let us know your thoughts, likes, dislikes, or just leave a happy message.
Lots of love Wayward Fam
