Action
"May I please play with your doll?" was said with her best charm smile.
Parker was aghast. "It's an action figure, not a doll!"
The smile dropped from Christine's face. "Oh, okay. Then may I play with your action figure, please?" this time asked with an unsure expression.
"These action figures aren't for playing, they're just to have and put on a shelf for show. They're collector's items and will one day be worth a lot of money." He explained.
Christine sighed. "Why have toys that you can't play with? That makes no sense." Giving Parker a sad look she continued. "I play with my dolls and have lots of fun. If I just left them on the shelf to look at they'd get sad and lonely. No one likes being left on the shelf to just watch the others play."
"They're just action figures Christine. They're not alive, they don't have feelings."
Christine gave Parker a pitying look. "Don't you know how to play, how to use your imagination? Uncle Sweets said that an active imagination is a healthy thing. I heard him tell Mommy that once. Mommy told Daddy that too, so it must be true."
Parker laughed. "Okay yes, but in my imagination the action figures play games together when no one else is watching. Just like in 'Toy Story'." Christine nodded approvingly. You can't argue with 'Toy Story'
"That sounds good. I'll tell you what. We'll go to the playroom and we can play with my dolls so that your dolls can play with each other while we're gone."
"They're not dolls, they're action figures. And I'm too big to play with dolls."
Christine though a moment then said. "So do you want to go to the playroom and we can play with my action figures?"
