And once more here we are again. After last time I hope that there was enough incentive to keep on reading however I have a feeling that everyone that is up to this chapter has hopefully gone through the others as well. But now we finally have an organised attack!

But we're not even halfway! I think. People in the future will only have to look at the chapter list however the people here will have to keep on reading in order to have a proper idea of how many chapters there are here. But in the end though that is kind of what makes this fun right?

Anyway I hope that the wait was worth it for everyone and then again, I would also like to thank everyone that has stayed with me for this long and continued to read the chapters.

And thanks to PokeRescue18 for his continued support of this series. Thanks a lot man.

Also our apologies for the delay. Both PokeRescue18 and me especially had some things on that we had to deal with. Yet I hope that this wait was worth it and I hope, from both PokeRescue18 and me, that you enjoy the chapter.

And from me, Mr Question Mark.

Enjoy.

Panic was too simple a word. When you found out that your toilet was broken, you panicked. When you found out that there was no food in the fridge with a hungry freeloader, you panicked.

And when you found out that some delinquents thought that you were a girl due to your Magical Powered Kanamin cosplay (which had been a series of misfortune all together) you panicked.

But panic did not sum up the situation that was happening in the District 7 entrance to the underground subways.

Chaos erupted as did the Anti-Skill van, Judgment and Anti-Skill multitasking between trying to get those that were injured away and trying to see who the culprits who had launched the attack in the first place.

Konori Mii felt dust kick up into her glasses however she did not care in the slightest. The people next to her, Hagino Yoritomo and Iwahashi Rina were similarly doing the same, looking towards the middle entrance of the subways that were in front of them.

One of the boys in the group was on his knees, as he lowered his palms and the others seemed to be congratulating the other guy that had fired the shot. However that was not the end. Another person stood forward and aimed towards one of the Anti-Skill vans again, shouts trying to get people away from the vans and trying to attack the person that held the bazooka.

Konori could not tell what expression that they had however it was irrelevant. What were they thinking? It was obvious who they were from but to think that they had been here the entire time?! Konori wondered how long they had been there however thinking things like that was pointless right now.

"Iwahashi!" shouted Konori as she tried to get her point across. Even though there was nothing that she could do, Iwahashi was a different case. Being a Level 4 Marionette she could get towards the person's mind before they fired the shot, even using it to fire into the sky helplessly.

Iwahashi blinked a few times however she got the message, focusing upon the person that was holding the weapon towards them. And before she even got the words out of her mouth in order to specify her command everything was too late.

The bazooka fired however no one was hurt.

"You have got to be kidding me." Said Konori as she looked at the actions of the person that had intervened. She looked at their action of resistance and in that moment she realised something.

What the hell was she doing on the ground?

Konori Mii stood up and groaned.

"If he's my responsibility….." Konori didn't like it however she had to do something just as reckless in order to do her job.

This was the front line of the battle. And there was no way that she was going to let a civilian like him get caught up in all of the chaos that surrounded this hell that had been made by then hands of MINUS in District 7.

There were voices of congratulations and Kamijou Touma felt his mind go blank. They had just fired a bazooka. A bazooka! Where the hell had thy even got that? What was going on behind MINUS? His vision turned towards the van that was in flames and the Judgment members that were taking their fellow members and Anti-Skill towards a safer place and he wanted to help out however there was something that he had to deal with.

Whatever the reason, probably the excitement of the first attack, his presence had been momentarily forgotten. He was sure if he was the one that had fired he would be more preoccupied with his own success than some person that had randomly appeared.

He pressed himself flat against the exterior of the subway tunnel wall and there was another voice that came from the tunnel, perhaps directed towards the others that were there.

"Time for round 2!" the voice was a male and Kamijou felt pale as he figured what it meant. He tried to peer around and saw the pipe with the piece of white sticking out from the end pointing towards the vans and the rush of people that were looking over at the bazooka that was raised like Kamijou was.

Now that people were more aware of it, the surprise factor of the attack would be rendered useless. However that would not stop the pure effects of death and pain that would result from the bazooka's attack. And there was very little that anyone in the forces of Judgment and Anti-Skill could do. Surely there were some powerful espers however the fact remained that they were not close enough to even intervene right now.

Kamijou thought frantically in his head for a solution however none came to mind that would not restrain the firing of the bazooka in some way. However as that was the case, all he had to do was change his goals. And there was only one way for him to do that.

Kamijou did not think, only acted. He raced from out from the wall that he had been behind and into the view of the MINUS members that had failed to remember his presence. He did not bother to check their expressions when he entered their view nor did he care, adrenaline coursing through his system as he raced towards the person with the bazooka.

And when he thought he was close enough, he threw up his leg towards the very tip of it. Something hit the very tip of his foot and the next instant there was a gigantic rush of air from where his foot was as well as the loss of pressure there due to the fact that the weapon that he had just kicked had launched up into the sky where it continued to fly.

Kamijou blinked in surprise that it had worked. For one thing he had worried that it might damage the firing mechanism and caused the entire thing to blow up in his face however he did not know a lot about machinery to make that judgment.

He regained his senses and looked towards the others that had finally managed to assess the closest threat towards them. And it was Kamijou that acted first. Having been in so many situations that were literally life and death before, his actions towards certain situations had been enhanced and this was one of them.

As the others tried to understand the pure stupidity of the action that he had done, Kamijou threw a punch towards the nearest standing member of MINUS causing him to fall back clutching his nose. And it was then that everyone else decided to join in in the fight that was unfolding.

4 people rushed towards Kamijou and there some clicks that sounded like the cocking of a gun however Kamijou could not be sure. There was no way of knowing and that in itself gave possibilities on both side of the spectrum. However there was no time to hesitate.

He threw another punch towards the person that was approaching him, a girl, and felt someone grab his arm, noticing how it was another one of the members only to feel something slam into his face, the punch throwing off Kamijou's balance. He tripped on one of the ties on the track, falling down and the others took response.

2 of them tried to get towards Kamijou and he gave them a kick to the face each however another person had managed to push one of the recoiling members forward and sent some kind of pure white energy towards Kamijou. He started to throw up his right hand-

Only to have someone appear right above him, slamming their feet into the head of the person that was about to throw their energy ball at him. He fell back and Kamijou saw that some of the other members had started to advance towards the Judgment vans, using their powers and weapons in order to attack.

"What are you doing?!" yelled a voice and Kamijou looked up only to see the person that had kicked the person in the face that was trying to attack him in the first place, Shirai Kuroko. One of the members had already had his head knocked towards the rocks on the ground and was unconscious and Shirai looked both impressed and annoyed at Kamijou.

"Are you serious in thinking that you can kick a bazooka like that? Honestly, every one of the espers is already past here so the best place for you would be here!" she said and before Kamijou could even get in one argument, she had disappeared.

Kamijou turned around in order to see the mayhem that was occurring but even that didn't sum up the situation. More than one Anti-Skill van had been destroyed and the mass of flames. It reminded him of the scene at the Learning Core however there was no time to try and be reminded of what was. This was now and there was no way that Kamijou Touma was going to sit out from the battle that was taking place.

He stood up and moved forward, one of his feet touching something on the ground, picking it up as he looked at it. It was the weapon from before, the bazooka. Had someone dropped it? Or had they simply decided that moving forward without it was the most efficient way to advance? He looked back and saw that a number of cases were open with that white tube coming from them, obviously the weapon that had to be loaded.

There was no weapon in the bazooka that he had however that was all that he needed to know. He lifted it up and with a shout ran forward.

Konori Mii had been distracted. Of course there was a good reason however she had sent Shirai in order to deal with Kamijou in order to make sure that he was safe however with what he had done with that bazooka, she wasn't sure that anything that he did was safe anymore.

A gunshot rang from the side of the Anti-Skill van that she was hiding behind. Although there were only seven of them now, they had managed to blend into the chaos perfectly. Choosing to take out the Anti-Skill members first, they had succeeded in doing so, aiming for their legs and arms with their pistols and powers.

They were greatly outnumbered however, perhaps because of the esper that had managed to hide them from sight in the first place, they were not actually seen. The light bended around them in an odd fashion however when one tried to look towards them, one could not find them. Whatever it was, this light manipulation was a pain and Konori was having a hard time towards finding one of the espers, either the ones that were acting as foot soldiers or the one that was bending the light.

There was a pressure towards the back of her neck where she hid and she froze.

"Stop right there Judgment. Lights out for you."

Konori acted as fast as she could. She rammed her elbow into the person's gut and ducked her head at the same time, feeling something whiz by her hair before the clang of metal against metal filled her ears. Her heart raced frantically however she was Judgment. This was no time to get distracted.

She turned however saw nothing, instead choosing to look down and saw the imprints of their footsteps in the dirt. She noticed however they were standing back, perhaps in a retreat however Konori was not going to stop now. She stepped forward, letting lose a kick and noticed how it slammed into the side of something that was there.

She smiled and used her Clairvoyance on the off chance that it would work. Although it allowed her to see it did not function like normal vision did. And the world entered an almost negative like version of itself and she felt an elation of success surge through her. There in front of her was a figure, about the same age and carrying a stun gun in the top left pocket. However she could see him and that was all that was important.

She sent another punch towards the individual seeing him recoil before sending another to the face that made them spin around in shock before falling to the ground. Konori quickly placed her knee on the back of the person, reaching for her handcuffs however felt something slam into the back of her head. She was thrown to the ground and tried to stand up however a foot slammed into her face, throwing dirt into her mouth.

Gunshots and shouts filled the air so she was sure that she would not be heard. She still tried to stand up however as she saw that her first target had started to do so, she grabbed their leg and spun her own towards however was behind her, still using her esper power. A cry of pain and the vision of someone grabbing their leg filled her vision and she used the opportunity to stand back up, ramming into the person that had attacked her.

She turned as she and her attacker fell to the ground, in order to address the other esper however nothing could be done as she felt a slap to her face, fingernails digging into her skin and cutting her cheek. She was thrown back and noticed the other esper that she had thrown down trying to get up which she planted a good kick to the groin. There was a cry of pain from the boy and movement in the dirt to which Konori tried her tackle tactic again, throwing both espers to the ground in a scuffle.

Konori felt something connect with her face and she cried out, being turned over as the girl reached for her stun gun and pointed in straight at her, ready to thrust down. Even without using her powers, Konori could have guessed the look on her face and she was right; one of pure triumph in the situation.

The girl thrust the stun gun down something came from the side and slammed into her throwing her off Konori. She turned to see who it was…..

…seeing nothing. Only a piece of weaponry that was floating in the air. She assumed that it was some kind of magnetism power however she felt something on her arm and she literally jumped in fright at the action, both in surprise and the fear that someone else had come. Yet her eyes suddenly hurt and her vision was forcibly returned to normal in order to see a boy in front of her.

He held a bazooka in one of his hands and Konori again almost jumped in fright. What did he think that was? A bat?!

"Hey! Are you OK?" asked Kamijou Touma towards her, hearing more shouts and a gunshot before silence in one area of the subway entrance. They both turned in that direction to which Konori clicked her tongue and directed her view towards the location where the boy had hit the girl that had attacked her. She saw nothing however that in itself did not ease her fears. She was there for sure. A groan from a boy entered her ears however she had no time to think about him.

"Wait! There's still one mo-" She began to which she saw the sand moving underneath the foot of the esper, something that Kamijou must have noticed as well. In surprise he thrust forward his right hand and closed his eyes, not sure what was going to happen. Konori was still on the ground however even though she tried to use her Clairvoyance the sight that she saw could only be termed as ridiculous.

Space rippled somewhat and then all of a sudden, the girl that she had seen before her attacking her was seen in front of her, fully visible and in front of all eyes to see. The girl seemed to notice the change and looked down at herself as if she did not know what was happening. Only Kamijou opened his eyes and looked towards her, understanding to whatever extent, but it seemed that he figured out the influence his right hand had had. However Konori was the one that acted and got up, slamming her hand into the face of the stunned esper throwing her to the ground where Konori, now that she could see them, used her handcuffs as they should. She hurriedly attached them to which then esper tried to struggle but to no avail.

She looked towards Kamijou who had been somewhat surprised at her quick actions however she was not in the mood. What was he doing here? He was a civilian! Getting someone with no Judgment training at all mixed up in this situation would only make the situation worse so she had to lead him away from the battle. What exactly had she told Shirai in the first place?

"What are you doing here? Come with me! This is no place for you right now!" she said in protest, taking Kamijou to which he dropped the bazooka as he was dragged towards the middle subway entrance. This was where he had been before and this was where he was going to stay. Even if Konori had to make sure of it.

"Stay here!" she practically declared. "You are my responsibility and there's no way that I'm going to have you hurt in any way!"

"B-But what about y-" started Kamijou as he looked at her face,

"Don't worry about me!" she said as she turned around and was ready to leave. "Ju-"

She paused and stopped looking at everything that filled her vision. She could see everything. From where she had fought it was only a small portion however now that she had this view, she was glad that she had that portion only.

A couple of Anti-Skill vans lay in ruins and Judgment and Anti-Skill members were being led elsewhere, the wounded on the ground while other members were still attacking spots that seemed to have nothing while those spots fired back. A few people lay in handcuffs, the both and girl that Konori had been attacked by before and another group of 3 with Hagino, Iwahashi, Endo and Shirai looking over them.

Shirai looked over to where Konori was however when noticed Kamijou she somewhat frowned before teleporting away in order to deal with everything.

The others that were in the group with her turned towards her and nodded to which they ran towards the group of members that were participating in the fight. Konori was going to head there herself however….

She looked towards Kamijou and saw something move behind him. She froze before grabbing Kamijou by the hand where he stood. It was something that she did not understand however that was not the problem at the moment. That right hand had done something to the light waves and it had allowed her to see. And when something that had no reason to move moved, she reacted by using that card that she held.

Space distorted for only a second before a boy stood in front of them. Due to the fact that he had such control over his ability meant that this was the one with the light bending ability. Cries of alarm came from others in the background to which Konori could only assume that what she had done was get rid of the entire use of power.

The boy in front of her swore before lifting up what he already had before firing it before Konori or Kamijou could react. The bazooka went off, throwing the rocket into the air where it met the only thing that it could come into contact with.

The roof of the tunnel.

The explosion had not been large, something that Konori was somewhat thankful for however it was enough to shake her up and throw her to the floor with a large shock. The side of her face slammed onto then ground, onto the metal to which she felt that her face had received such a wound that she might have damaged her skull a bit.

Bits of dirt and rubble fell onto her however was trivial as she heard a massive cracking sound from above. She did not need to know what it was. When something like that slammed into the roof, it was a miracle that the entire thing hadn't collapsed immediately or that the explosion hadn't engulfed her and the others that were with her. She felt as though she had the height of the tunnel itself to thank for that.

She heard someone shout her name however she did not know who it was. Something entered her cloudy vision and she saw her junior looking up at her with a concerned face among the rubble falling down however stopped as she saw movement of the person behind her. Obviously someone had not been as affected as Konori had and recovered quickly to which she wanted to cry out but before she could, something slammed into the boy that was approaching. Shirai turned around quickly and teleported, taking the boy's hand however the other person she talked to, to which they nodded and Shirai teleported away without them.

What? Konori did not understand, why had Shirai not teleported them away? Konori could always manage to be last, it came with her responsibilities. But not the person that had been abandoned.

There was a greater creaking sound and Konori tried to stand up but it was no use before feeling something grab her legs and the back of her head and run as she was carried like some princess in a fairy tale. There was a creaking sound behind and the light was beginning to become limited in her vision. She could only grasp what had happened, that a part of the roof had fallen to cover the entrance. She had no idea if the person that had lifted her up would have been able to make it however that was not the primary issue.

She remembered seeing open boxes where she had been. Open boxes that contained the ammunition for the bazookas that had been used originally. Now that they were open to all types of impacts and environments, it was no question what would happen if a roof of a subway tunnel came crashing down on it.

As the rubble fell, Konori Mii could only feel a sense of inevitability in the situation in front of her and instinctively closed her eyes.

The last thing that she remembered was that person probably realising the same thing, holding her face to their chest and holding her in close as they protected her with their body.

Shirai Kuroko turned as soon as she had heard the blast, looking over to where it was. And in her mind she knew that there was only one reason why something like that would even happen in the subway tunne;. The esper that had been using the light manipulation ability had to be somewhere. And if they were trying to make sure that they could use their powers throughout the fight…

Shirai didn't think of the implications of the action before she teleported straight to that location, despite the risk of teleporting into some falling rubble, and looked around, the first thing that caught her eye was that of her senior.

"Konori-senpai!" she shouted. She went over to her side and looked at the wound that had covered her head. She did not know the severity of it however it did not look like something that was serious but there was no way that she could know. She began to reach her hand towards her however a grunt from behind her made her turn around in surprise, teleporting as she restrained the person that had been behind her. However she had been too late as someone came from the side and tackled the enemy esper. She looked towards the person that had tackled them, noting the wound on the side of his head as well.

"Hey!" said Kamijou. "Take Konori and that guy out of here!" Shirai wanted to say something how a number of things stopped her. One was the fact that there was no way that she could teleport them both, for some reason her ability had no effect on him. Not only that but she could only manage two people at a time. But there was also-

"I can't! With everything collapsing I might end up teleporting some kind of rock into my stomach as well or inside my skull! I can't carry this guy and Konori-senpai and then return here!" here was a groaning sound and the both of them looked up. Kamijou gritted his teeth.

"Alright! Go then! I got this!" He headed straight for Konori while Shirai looked at him go, somewhat glad that he had decided to take action so quickly, as well as the fact that he was here and teleported away.

Kamijou reached Konori and picked her up, much like he had when he had first met Leivinia Birdway. [1] He headed straight for the only exit however a large creaking sound and a smash that followed made Kamijou look at the entrance that was beginning to have pieces of rubble cover it as it was blocked off by the collapsing ceiling.

"You have got to be kidding me…" he said in complaint however that was not the main issue at the moment. More cracking entered his ears and he did not even need to look up at what was going to happen. However it was something else that caught his eye, the sight of open boxes of ammunition for the bazookas on the ground.

His eyes went wide as he ran in the opposite direction towards the entrance and the finality of the last of the roof collapsing filled his ears. There was no way that he was going to avoid such a blast at the rate that he was going. At the very least he should hope with all of his might that the falling roof would help to shield the blast however there was no way for him to know what was going to happen.

And the last thing that Kamijou remembered doing was pressing Komori's face towards his chest and attempting to shield her with his own body.

"What the hell was that?" yelled Yomikawa as she turned towards the main entrance where all of the goddamn espers had come from. She held her shield in her hand and looked around. All of the espers had been detained with success however when Shirai had arrived and the next moment the roof of one of the tunnels had collapsed, she did not think it was good in the slightest.

Shirai looked at her and Yomikawa stormed over to her. "You came out of there! What happened?!"

"This one," she said as she held up the esper who was handcuffed. "Managed to get off a blast. Konori-senpai and Kamijou-san were caught up in it however I could only get out this one before the whole thing collapsed." Despite her calm outside, she was white in the face and it seemed the only way for her to understand the situation was to relay it to someone else.

Yomikawa understood each and every word, eyes widening as she recalled who had been in there. She ran towards the entrance of the tunnel however the dust had kicked up so much that it was hard to even see in front of her own face. But that was not the issue. She heard nothing, no coughs or splutters or even the cry of misfortune that she had expected to hear. And that meant-

"Damn it! Hurry up and get me something to remove all of thi-"

An explosion threw her back however the damage was not from that but rather the stones that had collided with her. She looked over in surprise, wincing as she placed a hand towards her head, feeling blood on her temple but that was not the major problem.

Another explosion followed and then another, a chain of them blasting rocks outwards but also causing more and more of the tunnel to collapse on itself.

Judgment and Anti-Skill could only watch as the tunnel continued to spit out rocks however even that stopped. Yomikawa gritted her teeth as she looked towards the tunnel. This was not good. This was not good at all.

Not only did it mean that someone was trapped on the other side of the tunnel but these explosions only served as one thing.

One more reason to not enter the tunnel. Who knew how many would follow that explosion or the next? Sure there were no explosions now but that did not make the situation any better. If no one had any idea of the danger of moving forward then all it meant that was that everyone here was at a standstill. There was nothing that anyone could do upfront so they just had to wait in order to achieve a solution but who knew how long that would take?

"Damn it! Get me a Powered Suit or something with AI like one of the FIVE_Overs! I don't care what it is just get it here!" shouted Yomikawa as movement went through to the bodies of the members of Anti-Skill and Judgment.

And the only thing that she felt was concern for those that were caught on the other side.

Konori felt something warm on her face and she wanted to get it off. She opened her eyes, noticing how it hurt to do so however she got used to the pain and looked at the scene on front of her.

The first thing that she noticed in the light of the tunnel, the lights were still working after all that which was something of a miracle, was not the blocked off tunnel or the lack of escape. Instead it was something that was much closer and dangerous in terms of a threat.

Kamijou Touma had his face collided on her own; his mouth practically on her cheek with it angled towards her own and his light breathing went onto her face, the thing that had woken her up in the first place. She could fell one of his hands over one of her breasts and another draped over her on the ground of the railroad that they were on.

She went red in the face and wanted to scream. She really did. However she did not know where she was or who was there so she could only elect towards making her face go redder as she tried to contain herself.

"H-Hey!" she said as calmly as she could. "Get off!" She tried to shake off the boy and found that it was easily done. She was thankful for that however she noticed something else in the dim light that the tunnel provided. She took a closer look.

Her uniform. It was practically perfect however there were splats of red all over it. She touched them and found that blood covered parts of her own uniform however they were not hers, no pain coming from those areas that she touched. Not only that but apart from that and a few cuts she was relatively untouched. After what had happened she would have thought that-

She looked towards her side and found it hard not to scream or shout in surprise at what she saw. There were a number of cuts on the boy's back, something that made a red substance stain his orange shirt that he wore under his school uniform. There was a large cut on his cheek and that was only what she could see.

She did not need to know what had happened. She had already put the pieces together in her mind. And this type of ending what something that contradicted everything that she wanted. Everything that she worked towards. There was no way that things were going to end just like that!

She reached out to the boy and turned him over, taking off his jacket in order to get a look at the wounds. Thankfully, they were mostly cuts, somewhat of a miracle as to what had happened, however she could not see if there were any internal wounds. And it was that that was the main problem. However there was only going to be one solution or none. Konori had to work and work fast in order to prevent as much bleeding as she could.

She was no medic however her training in this case was something that could only serve to benefit her as she moved and looked around her. Patching someone up to be done with tools and she looked around for one that she could use.

And the best tool that she had with her was-

He felt like shit. There was no other explanation. Even trying to open his eyes made Kamijou ache and he didn't want to. However he had to. There was no question about it. What had happened? Was Konori safe? What about Shirai? Had everyone managed to get away safely? Where was he? Had he managed to escape without injury? The last question was practically answered however he still did not want to end up not knowing anything about what was happening.

He opened one of his eyes and let the light of the tunnels come through. His back was leaning against one of the train tunnel's walls and there was a voice coming from his right.

"-bility. You certainly were a pain." Said the voice. Kamijou turned his head, slowly, and looked towards the person that had spoken. Konori Mii was leaning next to him looking at the roof with a soft kind of smile of her face. Her hands were red as were some of her clothes however it did not seem that she was bleeding. Where had all of that blood come from? He wanted to stand up however decided that it was best that he should take a small break instead of immediately moving.

He had been through worse so at the very least, taking a break right now ensured the fact that he would be able to stand up again with more energy to tackle whatever was coming his way in the future.

"Sorry." He said to which Konori turned her gaze towards him, somewhat surprised that he was awake. It seemed that she also knew that he had heard her and was stunned that he had managed to regain consciousness so quickly. Her own head was still spinning after being slammed down on the rails but she did not think that she would have regained consciousness as fast as the boy had.

Kamijou leaned his head on the back of the wall. "Are you OK?" he asked her. "You have blood on your hands."

Konori looked at them and blinked. Of course she had blood on her hands. She had just started to treat the boy for his injuries with what she could, which was not much, so it would be obvious that she would have blood on her hands. She had managed to stop most of the bleeding by applying pressure on the wounds with the boy's jacket but still some of the boy's blood had gotten onto her.

She nodded in response. "Don't worry. I'm not bleeding." She looked towards Kamijou and saw him sigh in relief.

"That's good. But where are we? Did we get trapped in the tunnel?" he asked. He looked over to his right, past Konori and at all of the rubble before frowning. If things were like this then the only way to get out would be going in the opposite direction and thus coming out in District 16. It was either that or wait for the people that were surely coming to come and get them.

"Yeah. I didn't know how far we are in but it's not good. I have no idea how far in we are and whether MINUS is in with us but in the end there's nothing we can do but wait here." She said.

Kamijou slowly let out a nod as a default response however he did not agree. There was something that he had to do. This was his fault. MINUS and the interpretation of his actions were his fault. There was something that he had to do in order to remedy that. Even if he was on the other side of the tunnel that would not have changed. Yet although he had that thought in his head there was no way that he was going to get moving soon. He did not know where MINUS was going to be however he had to find them and quickly.

His mind filled with questions and their possible solutions but even then, sitting down and doing nothing was not the way that these things had to be done.

"Judgment and Anti-Skill will come for sure." Continued Konori. It was not a statement filled with half-hearted confidence but rather one that had pure faith in her comrades. Kamijou looked over towards her.

"You really trust your comrades don't you?" he asked her.

She looked over towards Kamijou and gave a small frown. "Don't you trust your friends? Although we don't have times where we get along all the best we are still a part of a team and all want the same thing. In the end, it's the peace of people like you that we all fight. And so since Judgment is like that I know that there are people that I can count on in that branch of mine and beyond that."

Kamijou somewhat understood where she was coming from. She had someone, something that she wanted to protect. And she had tried to do so with her own power. She had joined Judgment in order to allow her the power that she wanted to use to protect. And along the way she had found people that were the same. Someone that wanted to protect the City that she lived in. Someone that had fought hard in order to protect their home. And now she had banded together with those people in order to fight that one thing that was threatening that peace. MINUS.

They truly were the negative towards the home that he had built up. They were the negative that had harmed those close to him, friends and people that he knew or had just met. So he could completely understand Konori Mii and her goals in that one moment. He might not know what made her as a person, the people that she was friends with (although he knew that Shirai was one of them) or how she had met them.

Every person had their own story. It might not have been worthy of an autobiography however there were always paths that everyone took in order to move forward and achieve something ahead of them. They worked hard, were rejected but even then, their choices from that one incident in their lives were something that made them who they were.

Kamijou Touma could not save everyone from their past. There were things that were out of his control but even then. he was not arrogant enough to say that he knew everyone simply by listening to a part of their lives. There was no way to do that but he still moved forward with the small understanding and an argument that was based upon that.

He didn't need to know their entire life story. He just needed a fraction of understanding to show that people had more potential than simply causing pain to others.

He had 'lived' for around 16 years. But even then, he had faced more than 16 years being thrust into death after death. It might not have been 'real time' but he had faced those deaths back to back with no breaks or anything.

And so with that age, he knew that there was more to people than simply looking at a part of their life and making assumptions. But even then, he knew that that small glimpse was the way to that understanding that he wanted.

But right now, he understood Konori Mii.

"But still," Konori looked towards Kamijou's left down the tunnel. "It's unnerving to think that MINUS is down there. There's no way that they would come out of the tunnel otherwise." Although she said that there was no indication that she was going to stand. Rightfully so. With the armed forces that they had, hesitation was the consideration of the losses and gains one would take when taking them on.

"Heh." Said Kamijou. "Things will work out for the best. After all…" Kamijou grunted as he tried to stand up, managing to do so ever so weakly before trying to support himself however found that he could not, using the wall as a support in order to help him stand. "We have to make sure that all of your hard work doesn't go to waste."

He saw his jacket on the ground and used his foot in order to kick it up towards him and caught it before slowly putting it on. It was mainly red however Kamijou only hoped that it would come out in the wash. In the end that kind of thinking only revealed once more that he was nothing more than a normal high school student.

Konori looked at his back as he managed to stand up. There was no way that he should be able to do that. After all, she knew the injuries that he had gotten. There was no way that he should be able to find the will to even stand up and support himself.

"What are you-" she asked however Kamijou did not answer, moving forward against the wall towards the tunnel. He pushed himself off and began walking down the track as if there was nothing wrong with him and Konori felt somewhat stunned. There was no way that he was going to stop so all she had to do was make sure that she had his attention.

She stood up and grabbed his arm.

"You can't seriously be thinking on going in there and taking on MINUS in your condition? That would be suicide! No, as a Judgment member, this is something that I cannot allow!" She began to reach for where her handcuffs were however she knew that they would not be there. However she had to make sure that this boy would not go and deal with something that did not involve him. He was a Level 0! He was a civilian!

Kamijou turned and looked at her. And he looked at her. But that was not what she felt. His stare seemed to be sizing Konori up, looking straight past her physical features and into something deep inside her. Her reason for holding him back? Her reason for standing up to help someone? She did not know however looked straight at that boy. Why was he doing this? What was making him move forward?

She didn't even have to look far. All it took was to look into his eyes. There was a determination there, something that she rarely saw even in some Judgment members when faced with a situation. Determination to move forward. Determination to end this. And…..

Determination to get back to those that were waiting for him. Konori knew exactly what he was thinking but his facial features softened as it seemed her came to some sort of answer regarding what he had been looking for in her.

"Do you really think I'm going to let you go in your condition?" asked Konori as she tried to convince the boy. "After what happened? Even if you meet a member of MINUS do you really think that you will be able to take them on in your condition? There's no way! You have no idea how many there are of them! Besides this is something that should be left to Judgment! You are my responsibility and civilians have no place here!"

Kamijou was silent for a bit however his expression did not change. "Sorry. I'm already a part of this. Yomikawa-sensei wanted me to help and this is how I'm going to do it. I'm not changing my mind."

"What? By going to a battlefield that you don't know about? Are you just trying to be reckless? A hero? I can understand why you have that scar on your back if you keep on going towards ridiculous lengths to simply show off!"

Kamijou opened his eyes wide in surprise and Konori realised what she had said and covered her mouth. While it was something that she had wanted to keep private, in her treatment of his wounds she had to lift up part of his shirt in order to address the wounds on his back, which had been minor compared to the other scratches. And that was when she had seen it. It had run from the bottom of his right shoulder all the way towards the middle of his back and when Komori had seen it she had thought that the incident that they now found themselves in had caused it. However it was not the case.

She had been amazed at the size of it and had only guessed why he had gotten it and what type of situation he had been thrown into in order to get it. But now that she saw what the boy was planning to do she somewhat understood how he had gotten it.

Kamijou seemed flustered for a bit and Konori took action trying to persuade him. "What are you even trying to prove? I have no idea how you got that scar but trying to act like this when you're all beaten up will only make you suffer! You are my responsibility and it is my duty to protect you! In Yomikawa's absence that is my role! And since you are under my care, I have to stop you!"

She gripped tighter on the boy's arm however Kamijou did not complain. Instead he seemed to only stare straight at Konori before turning towards the opposite wall that the tunnel that the two of them found themselves in.

"Can you not see-"

"Apparently….I got that when I was six." Konori froze at his words.

Six? At that age and get a cut like that? What….what exactly had happened to him in order to get something that like at that age?

"But even if I had gotten something like that from actions like these, I wouldn't stop." Said Kamijou as he continued. "Yomikawa brought me in for some reason. A Level 0 like me probably won't make a difference but in the end I'm still here and there's something that I can do. I can move. I can fight. And that means that I can move forward. Choosing to sit around on the chance that someone might come will not make them arrive any faster. And what if MINUS is waiting for the others with an ambush or something? A lot of pain and suffering can be stopped if only I walk forward. If I just have that then I have the will to fight. So I'm going to go. There's nothing that you can do to stop me."

His gaze seemed to soften as he continued to speak.

"I'm not a hero. I can't compare my actions to yours as a member of Judgment. But even then, I at least want to make sure that I have the ability to protect those that I want to protect. It isn't about showing off or anything ridiculous like that. It's about me wanting to do what I want to in order for me to return back to a place that I treasure so much. I'm not asking you to come with me. But I'm still going."

Kamijou lightly removed his hand from her grip and started forward. Konori's thoughts were a mess. Sure everything that Kamijou had said was a possibility but in the end there was something that he had said that was also something that had to be considered.

He was a Level 0 with a power that was hopeless. He probably could not make a difference. But he was here and he was advancing.

Konori Mii was a Judgment member. In the larger picture her actions would have very little effect. Kamijou was even less and he accepted that. But that was not stopping him from going forward. Konori looked towards him and used her power, noting how he disappeared when she used it. There was something there though. A boy who did not know how to give up.

"What is your power?" she asked. Kamijou turned around. "I know that you're a Level 0. But whenever I use my power against you, it doesn't work. It was the case with Hagino and Iwahashi as well. Even with the light manipulation, it was negated when it touched your right hand. There's no such power officially in the Bank that 'negates'. If there was then we would have a record of it."

Kamijou let out a sheepish laugh and held up his right hand. Both he and Konori looked at it. "I…still don't understand most of it myself. Imagine Breaker, my ability, is something that negates anything of a supernatural nature and lies in my right hand. That is all that I know. I've met others that want to know what it is and those that do but I don't know the answer myself. But…..even me being a Level 0 with a power that can't be measured does not matter. I may be the 'weakest' in Academy City but that doesn't change the fact that I can move forward right now." Kamijou let out another laugh. "In a way I guess that Birdway really was right when she said I was insane."

Although he said that Konori felt that there was something more behind it. Some kind of hope and energy behind that. She looked at that right hand. An ability that negates other abilities? Konori's head considered what that meant and she spoke up.

"I was right. You really are a pain."

She walked towards Kamijou and past him and she watched her go before she turned around.

"Well? After all that don't tell me that you won't go. I'll leave you behind otherwise."

Kamijou looked surprised however moved forward, slowly getting his movement in to match Konori's pace. The two of them were ready.

And the difference that they could make could only be seen.

They moved into a part of the tunnel that before all of the lights were turned off. Konori and Kamijou looked around themselves and looked at each other.

"These tunnels are pretty old." Said Konori. "You saw all of the ruined brick that was on the walls when we were walking here." Kamijou nodded. Indeed when they had walked through, Konori had tried to touch one of the damaged part of the wall to which the brick work actually collapsed. In the direction that they were travelling, they would head straight for District 16, the straight nature of their path allowing them that. Both of them were thankful for that but they still cautious. Whatever had turned off the lights was sure to be nothing good although it was a coincidence.

"Fuuuuuuuck. Why do we have to check the fuse box?" said a voice that seemed awfully near in the darkness. It was male and it approached rather fast, footsteps heard in the darkness. How were they finding their way around? Perhaps an esper power?

Kamijou had gotten the same idea and stepped in front of Konori. If it was some kind of sight related power then by having Kamijou in front of her should manage to prevent anyone from seeing them in the dark. At least she hoped. She did not know how 'Imagine Breaker' worked on its surroundings.

"You know that complaining is the one thing that I hate about you." Another voice, that of a girl. There was movement awfully close however Kamijou and Konori could not see at all. Where were they? Where were Kamijou and Konori currently located?

"Found it!" came a shout to which the two of them jumped. There was the sound of something opening straight in front of them and they both paled as they saw sparks come from a place right in front of them. If that was where the fuse box was…..

"And we have light!" said the boy's voice and the entire tunnel sparked into life…..

"Eh?" asked Kamijou as he looked towards his left, where the wall was.

Two heads turned their way and a stunned silence filled the air. They seemed to react first and the girl held her hands forward, a strange energy gathering there, appearing to be something related to moisture as Kamijou and Konori felt suddenly very damp. And in the face of the danger?

"Such misfortune. "

In the end, no matter where he was, misfortune continued to surround Kamijou Touma to the point where even here, he had thought something like this might happen.

[1] Read Stiyl SS in the SP volume. It is actually canon to be honest as Leivinia references it in NT 6 with her pistol.

I think that we'll stop here for now. For this arc I have a feeling that things won't go past either 4 or 5 parts so be prepared for that in case it happens. Well what did you think? If you took notice from the beginning you probably guessed that something like this was going to happen. If you did, congratulations. If you didn't then too bad.

But even Konori has become interested in our Level 0. And in the end whether Kamijou can make a difference can only be seen until the end right? But it is that silent hope that drives him forward with that right hand of his. And we even got a look into 'Judgment Konori' kind of the part of her that drove her to become a Judgment member.

In Kamijou's eyes at least there's nothing wrong with trying to stand up for something or someone that you want to protect. So he would have complete acceptance for something like Judgment. Even though we have people like Endo, even he has something. But in Shirai's arc he became the Anti-Judgment there. So I felt that Kamijou trying to work here was something good as it allows him to connect with that one person. Perhaps this connection will fuel the Uiharu arc?

But even so, I had Konori discover his scar and his ability. Somehow, I felt as though it fitted with the whole idea of 'understanding' that Kamijou wants. Surely a part of Touma wants to make sure that no one knows about his memory loss but even then, in order to truly understand someone, as noted by Touma, you do need that small insight into what they do and how they act.

Touma can't erase the past. However what he can do is change the future through that understanding. I suppose that mark of the unsung hero is truly what makes this a series about a Certain Unknown Level 0, no?

But in the end that is the end for now. I hope that everyone enjoyed the battle scene and the misfortune in the end and I can only wait until next time.

And as always,
Review if you please

I'll see you when I see you and I won't if I don't.

Maybe in the near future we will have Konori under the Kamijou spell. Seriously with the Kami-yan Disease taking effect of so many people, I actually think that Touma has devised a spell that even breaks past the limitations of Imagine Breaker….
