Sure, playing pirates with a teenaged mutant ninja turtle on a skateboard is a little ridiculous. However that's not really stopping Spike from enjoying it.
Michelangelo adjusts his eyepatch as he uses a paper towel tube as a telescope. "Thar she be, first mate Spike. Take us in."
Spike shoves at the ground, speeding the skateboards along.
"What are you doing?"
Spike starts and falls off the skateboard at April's voice.
"Man overboard!" Michelangelo shouts. He reaches out towards Spike, who remains sprawled on the ground.
"Playing pirates?" Spike offers.
April frowns and shakes her head. "I figured we'd take the turtles out to eat, you know?" April suggests.
Spike sits up. "Are you nuts?"
"No. Now get up."
~Where April Goes~
April and Spike walk down one of the many streets of New York City.
April sighs and turns. "You guys wanna speed it up a little?"
"Are you saying turtles are slow?" Donatello asks from ahead of them.
"That's a hurtful stereotype," Michelangelo remarks.
"I know, and we're not saying you're slow. You'd be horrible ninja if you were," Spike says dryly.
"Trust us, guys, we are better off keeping a low profile," Leonardo says from his hiding spot. "We find people treat us better if they don't know we exist."
"Which is unbelievable," Spike utters.
"Sorry," April apologizes. "I'm just so excited to get you guys out of the sewer for a change!"
"What are you talking about? We go out all the time," a puzzled Raphael says.
"He's right, they do," Spike points out.
"Yeah, but tonight you're going to do something besides hitting people," April explains.
"She's right, you are," Spike comments.
"Awwww," Raphael's shoulders droop.
"He's right, that's a shared sentiment," Spike says. April swats her arm.
"Don't worry, you're going to love this noodle place I found," April assures them.
"And you're sure we'll be welcome?" Donatello asks tentatively.
"Oh yeah. Mr. Murakami doesn't care what you look like."
"Might be because he's blind," Spike points out. "So he doesn't know what you look like."
"Awesome!" Michelangelo cheers. Raphael hits the back of his head. "I mean, for us, obviously."
However, as they approach the restaurant, it's clear something's wrong.
"Oh no!" April cries. Spike squints.
"Sounds like they're beatin' up on him." The group runs to the building.
"Who're those creeps?" Donatello asks.
"Purple Dragons," Spike growls.
"They're a gang. They think they own the streets around here," April says, watching them destroy the interior of the building.
One of them starts smacking Mr. Murakami around.
"So much for not hitting people tonight," Leonardo says.
"Oh well," Raphael grins without a hint of sincerity.
Spike kicks the door open as Michelangelo leads the charge.
"Booyahkasha!"
Whoops. So much for not hitting people indeed.
How do you think this is gonna go, eh? I'd love to hear from you guys about what you think! Don't forget to leave a review! Thanks so much for reading, and I'll see you next chapter!
