Chapter 52: Played You Like an Ed

As Eddy walked down the corridor, back towards the gym, he stopped, turning back to the auditorium doors, staring at it. He walked back in, staring at the back of Nazz's head. "Hey, why are you in here, all alone and shit?" Eddy questioned. Nazz looked up, turning around to face him.

"Double D asked me to keep him company while he set up for whatever it is he's doing." Nazz faced the stage. "Then he told me to wait here." Eddy walked up to her, looking around theater to see no one was there. "That was like 20 minutes ago." Nazz brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.

"Why were you hanging out with Sockhead, and not at the dance?" Eddy crossed his arms, looking down at her.

Nazz sighed, biting her lip. "I didn't want to see you."

Eddy frowned, crossing his arms. "Oh, sorry for bothering you." He snapped, walking away. Nazz grabbed his hand. Eddy paused, turning back to her.

"Double D told me you were in an abusive relationship." Nazz sighed. "And that, you are too afraid to break up with Lee…" Eddy backed up, seeing Nazz looking back to him. She couldn't help but let out a laugh, finally noticing his face was covered in make-up, and his head garnished with a pink bow. "If you aren't happy in the relationship, just leave. Don't be afraid." Eddy shoved his hands in his pockets. "You shouldn't be afraid in a relationship; you should be equals."

"Lee and I broke it off." Eddy admitted. "Like 5 minutes ago. I finally got that bitch to dump me." Eddy smiled proudly. Nazz blinked, staring at him. "Feels damn good."

Nazz pushed the seat next to her down, patting it for Eddy to sit with her. He shrugged, sitting down. "So, you're single?"

Eddy nodded with a wide smile. "Hell yeah." Eddy noticed a small smile on Nazz's face. He tilted his head, stared at her. "Why?" He asked with a smile, knowingly. "You want a piece of this?" Nazz looked to Eddy, laughing as he stood up, strutting around with a smile, winking at her. "I wouldn't blame ya, this here is Peach Creek Prime, born and raised." Eddy sat back next to her, putting his arm around her. "Hey, did you know my ancestors founded this town?"

Nazz laughed more, wiping a tear from her eye. "Are you trying pick-up lines on me, Dude?" She giggled. Eddy smiled at her. She grabbed the bow on his head pulling it off. "I think this thing is tied too tight." She messed with Eddy's hair, trying out different styles, deciding to go with a side swept. "I like this on you." She sighed. She smiled staring at Eddy. "Where would you put me if we dated?"

"Right here." Eddy pointed to her. Nazz rolled her eyes.

"I mean… would you put me before anyone?" Nazz explained further.

"Oh," Eddy nodded. "I gotta be honest, you've caused me some kind of problems this year." Eddy chuckled. "Told my mom I smoked…"

"Smoking is a terrible habit, and you're on the football team, trust me, you don't need to be smoking." Nazz defended herself.

"Kevin has beaten the shit out of me twice over you."

Nazz shook her head. "First time was Jimmy's fault, second time, I heard you were bragging about breaking us up." Nazz corrected.

"I'd say, you'd probably be… above my brother." Eddy smiled. "And also my bike."

Nazz laughed, shaking her head. "Really? Above your bike? Whoa dude, I'm not looking for that big of a thing… just a fling." Eddy shrugged, leaning back in the chair, letting out a sigh. Nazz bit her lip, putting her hands together. She sat forward, covering her face. "What am I doing?" She whispered.

Eddy looked at her, confused. He placed his hand into her back. "You alright?"

"You just went through a break up, and I'm here… just…"

"Just what?" Eddy asked.

Nazz turned to him. "Just wanting to be with you." Eddy's cheeks went pink. "You need time… and that make-up is totally distracting." Eddy took his shirt, wiping his face with it. When he lifted his face, Nazz giggled, staring at the smudged eyeliner and mascara. She licked her finger, wiping off some of it. "You tried." She smiled.

"How do you chicks deal with this shit every day?" Eddy complained, wiping his face again.

"Did they pluck your eyebrows too?!" Nazz grabbed Eddy's face, staring at it. "Wow, that's catching every detail." She stared closely at Eddy's eyebrows. Eddy swallowed hard, trying to not look down her dress. "They even got that one hair that was always above you lip." Nazz commented. Eddy took a deep breath, wrapping his arms around her. Nazz smiled at him.

They kissed.

Eddy pulled away, staring up to Nazz with a confused expression on his face, with Nazz giving the same. "That felt… awkward." Eddy announced.

"Totally." Nazz said, staring back to Eddy. "Maybe if we just…" Nazz grabbed Eddy's face, pressing her lips to his. She pulled away again, curling her lips shaking her head. "No… that was just weird too."

Eddy licked his lips, staring at Nazz, biting his lip. He pulled her onto his lap, kissing her passionately, stopping mid kiss, shaking his head. "What the hell?" Nazz looked down to Eddy, letting out a laugh. Eddy couldn't help but join in. "Get the feeling this ain't meant to be?"

"Yeah." Nazz nodded. "No offense, you are kind of cute, and great in bed. But… I don't think we're…"

"Meant to be. I mean, you're hot… and smart, and awesome." Eddy shrugged.

Nazz stood up, adjusting her dress. Eddy stood up too, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Friends?" Nazz held out her hand. Eddy shook it, nodding.

"Friends with benefits?" Eddy pointed.

"Hah, no thanks dude." Nazz rolled her eyes. They both left auditorium, headed back to the gym. Eddy held the door open for Nazz. Nazz entered, disappearing off into the crowd on the dance floor. Eddy walked around it, finding Edd and Marie sitting off to the side, leaned against the bleachers. He sat next to Edd, stretching.

"Why, hello Eddy." Edd smiled, looking over to his friend. "So, how did it go?"

Eddy glanced over to Edd, slapping his back. "That was very sly." Eddy smiled. "I am so proud of you… finally takin' the reigns of my genius plans." Eddy wiped a tear from his eye.

"Yeah, we did good." Marie put her arm around Edd, kissing his cheek. "I was worried you got nothing out of my teachings. You not only formed a plan, you even fucking pissed off Lee!"

"You ain't takin' the credit for my masterpiece!" Eddy snapped, glaring at Marie.

Edd rolled his eyes, letting out a sigh. "Please just answer the question." Marie leaned against Edd, nodding.

"I broke up with Lee. Found Nazz, we talked a bit and we kissed." Eddy explained, crossing his arms. Edd smiled at him while Marie let out a gag. Edd covered her face, pushing it away. "But, after we kissed, there was nothin' we didn't feel anything, it was just awkward." Edd put his finger to his chin.

"Awkward?" Edd questioned.

"Yeah, like, kissin' your cousin awkward." Edd cringed at the comment. Marie let out a laugh.

"That is awkward!" Marie agreed. Edd turned to Marie in shock. "Drunk Truth or Dare." Marie shrugged.

"I didn't even want to know." Edd covered his face, shaking his head. "Even the idea of it is… concerning." Marie giggled, standing up, planting a kiss onto the top of Edd's head.

"I'll leave you ladies to your gossiping. I gotta pee." She walked away.

Eddy crossed his arms, watching the group of students dance and have fun. "So, there wasn't a connection between you and Nazz?" Edd asked. Eddy nodded. "Well, at least you know for future reference…" Edd smiled. "On the upside, you know you're not missing out on something." Eddy glanced to Edd dully. "It is interesting; I would have thought you two were going to end up together. Seemed as though that's what this was all leading to."

"I think I fucked up." Eddy sighed. Edd looked at Eddy. "When I kissed Nazz tonight, it felt weird and not right. But whenever I kiss Lee, all I feel is… boom." Eddy motioned an explosion. "My heart races… I want more, like… I want to spend my life with those lips." Edd tilted his head. "Maybe Nazz just sucks at kissing."

"Possibly." Edd shrugged. "Or, maybe it's you." Eddy looked over to Edd with a glare. "But, it sounds like you had… Eddy… you do notice you're only mentioning Lee's lips, right?" Edd frowned.

Ed walked up, squeezing in between Eddy and Edd, almost sitting on their laps. He put his arms around Edd and Eddy, bringing them in close. "Guys, the moon is full." Ed whispered to his friends. Eddy and Edd stared at him. "But my stomach isn't."

"There are Hors d'oeuvres at the tables over there." Edd pointed across the gym.

Ed stared at the table with his eye twitching. "But no gravy." He said grimly.

"I ain't a bad kisser!" Eddy finally piped. Edd and Ed looked to Eddy.

"That was delayed." Edd commented.

"Kiss me and tell me I'm a bad kisser! I dare you!" Eddy pointed to Edd. Edd glared at Eddy in disgust. "I bet ya my kiss is amazing!"

Ed began to blush, looking over to Edd. "Double D, don't be rude…" Ed pulled Edd towards Eddy. "Kiss this fool!" Edd ducked up Ed's grip, standing up quickly.

He held up his hands, backing away. "No thank you, I'm perfectly content with not knowing." Marie returned, overhearing part of the conversation.

"Not knowing what?" She asked, standing next to Edd with her arms crossed.

"Whether or not I'm a great kisser, which I am." Eddy crossed his arms.

Marie laughed. "Oven-Mitt, you should already know!"

"Pardon?" Edd frowned. "How could I possibly…?"

"Remember at that one and only party you went to?!" Marie reminded laughing. Edd's eyes widened covering his mouth. "You still didn't tell me who did it better!" Marie tried to contain her laughter.

Eddy blinked, confused. "We kissed?" Eddy questioned. Ed gasped, looking to Eddy, shaking him. "When?!"

"Yeah, you were so shitfaced!" Marie cackled. "So, who was better? I promise I won't be mad if it's Skipper."

Edd shuddered, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I don't want any part of this conversation." He sighed, walking away.

"Asshat, it is Skipper!" She shouted after him. She glared over to Eddy. "This ain't over." She pointed, chasing after Edd tackling him.

"In your face bitch!" Eddy burst out, jumping up. He punched the air triumphantly. Eddy laughed, looking at Ed. "See, I'm a great kisser!" Eddy smirked. Ed clapped proudly at his friend. "I gotta go." Eddy pat Ed's head. "See ya, Lumpy!" Eddy ran towards the exit of the gym. Ed waved smiling. "Thanks, Sockhead, I owe you!" Eddy called as he ran past Edd, who was standing back up.

Edd watched curling his lips with a frown. He helped Marie up, letting out a sigh. "Perhaps I made things move too quickly." Edd admitted. Marie smiled, wrapping her arms around him. "You don't think he is going to go back to Lee… do you.?"

Marie nodded. "He so is…" She smirked. "She's got him wrapped around her finger." Marie did a twirl motion with her pointer. Edd grimaced. Marie looked up to him with a grin. She turned, seeing Nazz in the crowd of dancing students. Staring at the door that Eddy had left out of. "Must suck to be Blondie right now."

"Why? I was under the impression it was a mutual disconnect."

Marie flicked Edd's nose. "Don't be stupid." Edd bit his lip, finding Nazz as she left the dance floor. "If Shorty is such a great kisser, and Blondie is so madly in love with him, why would she not want to be with him?!" Marie crossed her arm, rolling her eyes. "She lied to not make it weird."

"Well… you can lead a horse to water…" Edd shrugged, he exhaled clenching his jaw. "That fool." Edd muttered, glaring to the door Eddy went through. The principal walked up to them with her arms crossed. "Why hello Principal Goodmight, what a lovely sash." Edd pointed out. Marie rolled her eyes looking to him. The principal pointed to his clothes, then Marie. Edd glanced down to his dirtied shirt then Marie's tank top that barely covered her stomach, with her jeans that were ripped a little too high up her legs. "Oh, I believe we're in violation of the casual dress code." Edd glanced to Marie. The principal nodded, pointing to the door.

Eddy ran towards the van, stopping when he saw Lee sitting on a bench, facing the baseball field. Her arms were crossed, she scratched her nose irritated, pulling out a cigarette. Eddy walked over to her, leaning onto the back of the bench.

"Hey." Eddy smiled. Lee turned to face him, punching him in the face. Eddy fell backwards, hitting the ground. He covered his nose as blood came gushing out.

"Oh sorry." Lee snapped. "I thought I hit your mouth instead." Eddy slowly sat up, sitting next to her. "Here, let me get that for you." Lee went into her pocket, pulling out a tissue, dabbing Eddy's nose with it. She then pushed him off the bench. "Let me guess. You came runnin' back 'cause I'm better." Lee snapped. Eddy stood up. Sitting next to Lee again. "You're such a pig." She hissed, turning away from him, putting the cigarette to her mouth.

Eddy let out a sigh, crossing his arms. "Lee." Lee rolled her eyes, reaching into her pocket for a lighter. "I'd like to say I didn't mean any of the shit I said, but… I did. I hate you." Eddy shrugged. Lee kept her back to him. "You're a crazy ass bitch, that does not know when to quit."

"You're flatterin' me." Lee laughed sarcastically.

"But, damn it, you're hot, and so am I." Lee let out a snort. "And yeah, I made out with Nazz tonight." Lee glared back to Eddy. "And it helped me figure out something." Eddy ran his hand through his hair. "I hate you more than ever."

Lee stood up, turning on her heel towards Eddy. "Good, let me guess why." Eddy stared up at Lee as she lit her cigarette, sucking in the smoke. She sat on his lap, straddling him, staring down into his eyes, pulling the cigarette from her mouth, running her hands through his hair, blowing the smoke into his face. "'Cause I'm the best you'll ever get." She whispered. Lee smirked, moving her face closer to Eddy's. "And guess what."

Eddy's eye half closed, staring at her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "What?"

"You lost me." Lee flicked Eddy's nose, moving away from him, putting the cigarette back to her mouth. She went to get off him, but Eddy tightened his grip. Lee grabbed Eddy's arms, twisting them until he let go. She stood up, straightening out her suit. Lee took the cigarette, putting it out on Eddy's leg. Eddy shrieked, pulling his leg away. "I ain't takin' the bait." She hissed, leaving. "Hope you and the girl next door are happy together."

Eddy stood up, he took in a deep breath, swallowing hard. "Wanna come home with me tonight?" He asked.

Lee didn't turn around. She let out a laugh. "We're not together…" She announced. She heard Eddy let out a sigh. She glanced back seeing him crossed his arms, sitting back down.

"I get it." Eddy mumbled. "You're too good for me." Lee stopped, turning around to face him. "You deserve better."

"You suck at this." Lee called. Eddy looked to her. "I know you're tryin' that reverse psychology shit. Let me show you how it's done." Lee walked back over to him. Eddy watched as she sat next to him, putting her arm around him. "We're through." She smiled. "Don't come runnin' back to me, 'cause I won't take the bait." Eddy stared at her. "I'm the best you'll ever get."

Eddy frowned. "You're just saying shit you've already said."

Lee smiled manically. "Get it?" Eddy shook his head, he paused, staring Lee down.

"Wait." He snapped, his eyes narrowed. Lee pinched Eddy's cheek, laughing at him. "You tricked me and made me somehow think you're better?! You never actually broke up with me?"

"Thatta Boy." Lee smiled. "I like it when my man falls into my traps." Lee cupped Eddy's face. "And thinks he won." Lee pushed Eddy down, locking lips with him. Eddy pushed her away from him looking peeved. "Some people don't know a good thing they've got 'til it's gone."

"You're sadistic!" Eddy grabbed Lee, pulling her back down to kiss her.
