Stephanie had spent all weekend feeling nauseous as she thought about Monday but she didn't have a single doubt in her mind about her decision.

They had made the decision to continue to travel separately for the weekend but neither of them was going to enter the arena until the other arrived.

Sat in her car waiting for a text from Paul to say that he had arrived she felt her heart racing knowing she was so close to finding out if her Dad was serious.

Jumping when there was a knock on her window she let out a little scream of surprise as her blood pressure spiked and she felt like her heart was going to beat out of her chest. Turning her head to the side she was relieved to see Paul's face and unlocked the door allowing him to open it, "You scared me half to death."

Laughing he did feel guilty but it amused him, "I'm sorry, I didn't realise that you were so spaced out that it would scare you. Are you ready to do this?"

Nodding her head she climbed out of the car, "As ready as I will ever be. I was expecting you to text so you scared me even more by knocking on the window as I was not expecting it."

Shrugging his shoulders if truth be told he had forgotten that he had said he would text, "I kind of forgot but oh well, what is done and you can forgive me now."

Staring at him she was trying to gauge if he was serious or not and soon realised that he was, "You're crazy to think that you will get away with it that easily but okay, each crazy person to their own."

Popping the trunk she walked to the back of the car to grab her bag but before she could he had it out and had placed it on the floor ready for her and was just closing the trunk, "Sorry, it was instinct."

Locking the door she pulled the handle up on her suitcase ready to drag it behind her, "So how do you want to do this?"

"If we are still going to tell everyone then I say we walk in hand in hand and screw them all, if you have changed your mind and we are just telling your Dad then obviously we shouldn't."

Taking hold of his hand she tipped her suitcase back ready to drag, "Let's do this."

Walking hand in hand across the parking lot they noticed the looks and neither of them cared, as they dropped hands and he opened the door for her it was like the Red Sea was parting as everyone separated keeping their eyes on the pair. Not willing to justify anything to them the pair just held hands again and walked silently past them.

They had barely reached the end of the corridor when Vince appeared in front of them, "I want to see you in my office . . . NOW!"

Tightening her grip on her boyfriend's hand her breathing became quite shallow as they followed her Father to his office making their way inside and wincing as he slammed the door shut.

Pacing in front of the couple Vince tried so hard to keep his anger in check, "Are you two deliberately testing me?"

Stephanie shook her head, "No Vince, we aren't testing anybody, we are just not hiding our relationship any longer."

"So the two of you are still in a relationship?"

Grateful that Paul hadn't let go of her hand she squeezed his hand tightly, "Yes we are still in a relationship and no we are not going to split up no matter what you say or threaten us with."

Pacing back and forth in front of them Vince couldn't believe his daughter was disobeying him so badly, "Why Stephanie?"

She felt like it was a trick question, it was such an obvious answer, "Because I love him Vince, I love him more than anything in the world and we are not going to be apart."

Stopping he turned to face her, "Then you leave me no other option. Stephanie I am disowning you, you are no longer my daughter."

Letting go of his girlfriend's hand he slipped his arm around her waist and gently rubbed her back wanting her to remain calm and not get angry to prove a point to her Dad that she was mature.

The touch of his hand on her back was relaxing but she had already resigned herself to this happening so she was quite calm about it all, "If that is how you feel Vince. Does this mean I don't have a job any longer?"

Moving back around his desk he took a seat, "You still have a job, I'm not going to make your life easier by not having to deal with the guys and for you to get out of having a job so yes, you still have every part of your job."

"Well in that case I guess I had better start getting to work. Come on Paul."

Taking hold of Paul's hand she led him out of Vince's office and silently they walked to their locker room for the evening.

Once inside the door Stephanie put her suitcase down before she sat down heavily on the couch remaining completely silent.

Placing his bag down Paul joined her on the couch, "You're quiet."

Standing up she moved to her purse and pulled out her phone to send her Mom a message:

Dad has officially disowned me. Please tell me that you meant it when you said that you won't too.

Dropping her phone back onto her bag she turned to face her boyfriend speaking for the first time, "Are you mad at me for everything going on with Vince and the fact that it might now seriously affect your career?"

Getting to his feet he closed the distance between them before he placed his hands on her shoulders, "Honestly if he is going to play with my career simply because of who I fell in love with and not my ability then I would rather find another job."

Slipping her arms around his waist she held him close, "I'm so lucky to have such an understanding boyfriend but I am sorry your entire life is now in limbo."

Holding her close he kissed the top of her head, "My life is completely stable thank you very much. The only thing that truly matters is you and I have you and nothing is changing so I don't need to worry."

Kissing his chest through his shirt she closed her eyes as a single tear fell down her cheek, she was trying so hard to keep it together and keep a positive attitude but it was so hard.

Hard at work Linda was hoping for a positive outcome to the day but she also knew that it was entirely possible that her hot headed husband would do what he had been threatening.

The second that her phone beeped signalling a text she snatched it up and read it and immediately tapped out a response:

Stephanie you are my daughter no matter what. I will work on your Dad, just don't shut me out because of him please.

As she watched the text send Linda shook her head, "What are you doing Vince?"

The moment the text had sent she switched to her contacts, she had a conversation to have with her husband.
