Thank you so much for all the reviews, favs and alerts :) About Liliya's age, I know that she is still young here, but during that time period people were considered to be adults sooner, it was normal for a 15-years-old to get married. She's not an adult yet, but she's not a child either after everything she's been through. Anyway, here's the next chapter.

Chapter 53

Unchain me, sister

"Watch your step, darling," Kol whispered in Liliya's ear while leading her towards the secret passage. She was shivering; it seemed that she was cold. The fact that humans actually got cold hadn't even crossed his mind, not before now. After spending so much time only with other vampires, he needed to learn to remember the basic human needs.

The girl was just as warm as he remembered and her scent was just as sweet. Unfortunately she was still too young, but that didn't matter, he had time to wait and now he didn't have to worry about some filthy human men trying to get her pregnant. Funny, he had decided firmly to get rid of his obsession until her sister had shown up. He was glad that she had, otherwise he might have lingered too long before coming back. Now the girl was here, walking right in front of him.

She almost tripped on something, but he caught her before she fell down. Thankfully it was dark and the courtyard was quiet, all he could hear was her racing heartbeat. Obviously she was terrified; his compulsion was the only thing that kept her quiet and obedient. He didn't enjoy her terror, but he didn't have time to calm her down now, he had to get her out first before someone would notice that she was missing. It seemed that the little doppelganger hadn't been completely useless; the secret passage had certainly make things a lot easier. A very good deal indeed… As soon as they were behind the wall, Kol lifted Liliya in his arms and told her to wrap her arms around him.

"Hold on."

She gasped in shock when he started to move with his vampire speed. Her nails were digging into his back and she buried her face in his shoulder, it wasn't difficult to tell how uncomfortable she was. Obviously a human body wasn't meant to move so fast, but this had to be done, he needed to get her as far away from the castle as possible. It wouldn't take Nik long to figure out who had taken her, only his siblings could undo his compulsion that had prevented the girl from leaving the castle. Kol slowed down when he approached the carriage; he placed the shaking girl on the ground and made an eye contact.

"You can speak."

Despite of her obvious fear, she glared at him furiously.

"Help me!" she shouted, making him to cover her mouth.

She kicked his leg and tried to pound him with her fists when the carriage door opened.

"Liliya."

The girl froze when she recognized her sister's voice; Katerina got out and hugged her tightly.

"Little Liliya…" she muttered in Bulgarian.

Liliya's eyes were watering up; she let out a sob and wrapped her arms tightly around her sister.

"Katerina…"

"It's alright, little sister, I am here."

"We have to go," Kol stated calmly. "Now."

Katerina nodded and led Liliya in the carriage.

"Go," Kol said to the driver and followed the two women. They were sitting side by side, holding each others hands, Kol sat down opposite them.

"My goodness… My little sister is all grown up," Katerina said in Bulgarian and touched Liliya's cheek. "You are almost 16, yes?"

Tears were still rolling down Liliya's cheeks, but she managed to nod.

"Yes. I have missed you so much…"

"I am here now," Katerina replied and hugged her. "Are you alright? Have Klaus hurt you?"

Liliya shook her head.

"No. How about you, are you alright?"

"Yes, I am fine…"

Kol couldn't understand every word they were saying, but he didn't interrupt them, obviously they had a lot to talk about. Finally Liliya turned to look at him.

"Why is he here?" she asked.

Katerina tensed and swallowed, Kol was actually curious to see how she would explain her agreement with him.

"I…made a deal with him," she muttered. "I did not have a choice; he was the only one who could undo Klaus' compulsion…"

"What kind of deal?" Liliya interrupted her callously.

"Yes, do tell her," Kol said smiling charmingly and leaned back on his seat.

Katerina took Liliya's hands between her owns and looked at her pleadingly.

"All you have to do is spend one night with him, then you and I are free, we can go anywhere together…"

"What?" Liliya gasped.

"Please listen to me, you can do this, I know you can. Just one night, then we are free, we can be a family. Do you not want that?"

Liliya was frozen like a statue, her mouth floundered open and closed.

"No."

Katerina touched her cheek.

"Liliya…"

"No!" she shouted and yanked her hands away. "I will not do it!"

"Just listen to me…"

"No!" Liliya shouted in English, she was shaking with anger. "You do not know what he did to me, I will never… I will rather die."

Kol almost smiled, he had known exactly what Liliya's answer would be when he had agreed to make the deal with her sister. That was the beauty of the whole deal, he would keep Liliya and he didn't even have to break his word. But to be honest, he would have kept her either way. Katerina seemed desperate; she turned to look at Kol.

"Please… Let me take her place, I can guarantee that you will not regret it."

"No," Kol replied cheerfully. "A deal is a deal. Whenever you are ready, darling."

"Go to hell," she hissed.

He suppressed his smile and raised his eyebrows.

"Let's see if I understood you correctly, I just saved you and you refuse to pay your debt to me?"

She glared at him and crossed her arms.

"Well, this is unfortunate. What to do, what to do…"

"Liliya," Katerina muttered tensely. "He will kill us or take us to Klaus, you have to do this. Please, for me."

Liliya clenched her fists and looked at her sister.

"I made a deal with Klaus, he would have let you live."

Katerina's eyes widened.

"What?"

"He wanted me to continue our bloodline and I was willing to do that. For you."

The silence that followed her words was certainly uncomfortable, judging by Katerina's look, she would have wanted to take her sister right back to Nik. Kol frowned; it seemed that this Tatia lookalike was very similar with the original one; she had been quite selfish as well. After pulling herself together Katerina turned to look at Kol.

"There has to be some other way for us to pay her debt, please just name it."

Kol smiled.

"Let me make this very simple, you came to me, begging for my help and you offered me your sister's body in return for my help. I hope you are not trying to say that you lied to me; that would make me very displeased."

Liliya flinched when she heard his words, but Katerina didn't notice that, she was smart enough to be afraid of him.

"Forgive me," she muttered before grabbing her sister's chin. A tear rolled down her cheek when her pupils dilated. "You will do what he wants…"

"Hey," Kol snapped. "No compulsion. What kind of a man do you think I am?"

Liliya looked completely shocked when she realized what her sister had tried to do; she jumped to her feet and tried to open the door. Kol and Katerina grabbed her at the same time; she screamed and struggled like a wild animal.

"Get off me! Get off me!"

"No Liliya please…" Katerina sobbed.

"How could you!" she screamed. "You would have taken away my free will!"

"I am trying to keep us both alive!" Katerina shouted back. "I only wanted to help you!"

Suddenly Liliya stopped struggling, her face was completely blank. Kol allowed her to yank herself free from his grip and sit down. She didn't sit on her original place; she chose the seat where he had sat. Katerina sat down opposite her and tried to take her hand, but Liliya didn't allow that.

"Liliya… I am sorry."

She wasn't looking at her sister; instead she looked at Kol who sat down next to her.

"You said it yourself, I owe you, she does not," Liliya started callously. "Please let her leave."

"Fine," Kol huffed and waved his hand towards the door. "She can leave."

Katerina looked at him disbelievingly.

"What about Liliya?"

"She stays," Kol replied simply. "Perhaps I can find some other way for her to pay her debt."

"No… Just let me talk to her alone…"

"I think you have helped me enough," Liliya said callously. "I am not a child anymore, Katerina; I can take care of myself. Please go."

"Please…"

"Go!"

Tears were coursing down Katerina's cheeks when she stood up.

"Forgive me."

With that she was gone. Liliya's face was still completely blank when she moved to the opposite seat; apparently she wanted to get as far away from Kol as possible. She didn't look at him; she was staring at the dark curtains that covered the window.

"I hope that amused you," she muttered.

He shook his head.

"No, it did not, but this is for the best, you do not need her…"

"You have no idea what I need," she hissed venomously. "But why would you even care. Just… do whatever you are planning to do and get it over with."

It wasn't difficult to see what she was struggling for not to let her tears out, she was completely broken. That wasn't what he had wanted. What had he expected then, she was a human and she had feelings. He should know that better than anyone, her damn feelings had caused him a headache more often than he cared to remember.

"Let's make something clear, shall we," he sighed. "I am not planning to hurt you."

She snorted and kept her eyes on the curtains.

"You belong to me, you have ever since I first tasted your blood. You can deny it as much as you want, but deep down you know it's true."

Slowly she looked up and glared at him.

"No, I will never belong to you."

He smiled.

"Yes you will, but don't worry, I have time to wait."

She was too young now anyway, no matter how much of an adult she looked like.

"Try to get some rest, darling, I am afraid we cannot make many stops, not before we are far enough."

"Where are we going?" she asked tensely.

Kol hadn't really thought about it yet, but they would definitely get out of England. There was a whole big world out there, so many things for her to see and experience. Maybe she was hurting now because of her sister, but eventually she would get over that. Hopefully that would happen soon.
