1.

"Hermione!"

"Neville!"

Liana and Ron called their friends. They heard them quickly because their voices echoed in the cave. Even Demon came running.

"The rock surrounding it is of different organic matter…" Neville stated. "It's new."

"Hermione, what spell should we use to get it out?" Ron asked.

"A Gouging Spell should work." Hermione said. "Defodio!" She said as her wand broke through the surrounding rock with ease. It only took a few moments before Hufflepuff's cup was in her hands.

They all looked at each other with amazement. They had found a horcrux; the pain in Liana's scar if she held the cup assured them, and just the fact that they found the cup in this location proved something. There would be no other reason for the cup to be hidden in an island in the Caribbean.

The four friends cheered, and Demon bounced around excitedly. Liana asked Hermione how to destroy the horcrux, but Hermione didn't know. Liana had never seen a previous horcrux destroyed… Dumbledore always took care of it. Then she remembered she had destroyed a horcrux before, in her second year with a basilisk fang.

Liana was silent. Her friends watched her thinking. "Do you think we can trust Dumbledore?" She finally asked. "Trust him to not tell my dad anything, and allow us to continue this journey?"

Neville responded, "If anyone is to trust us and have faith in what we are doing, that person is Dumbledore."

Liana nodded. "Let's go to Hogwarts."

2.

At the time Liana was finding the cup, The Order was having their meeting. Severus was getting infuriated that no one had anything but mere guesses of locations where his daughter could be.

"Severus!" Molly Weasley interrupted the meeting. "Ronald's location on the clock!" She had recently made the family clock pocket sized, so that she could take it with her at all times. "It says he is traveling!"

"Traveling where?" Severus shouted, knowing Molly didn't have the answer.

"He's at school!" Molly replied when Ronald's face moved again on the clock.

With a pop Severus vanished. Everyone knew he was going to apparate to the edge of Hogwart's grounds.

3.

When the four of them apparated, along with Demon, they forgot how cold it would be in northern Scotland. Liana instantly threw jeans on and a sweatshirt; so did everyone else. And they spelled their hair and island clothes dry. Liana was looking in her bag for anything else warm to put on, when all she saw was her invisibility cloak. The weather wasn't necessarily that cold at Hogwart's already. The school year had only just started, but it felt much colder since she just apparated from a tropical island.

Liana gasped when she saw the back of a black cloak appear out of the air on a nearby hill. Instantly, she threw the cloak over everyone, even Demon. Since they didn't have to move, they all sat there, holding the cloak like a blanket over them as Severus marched from the grounds to the castle, looking around him as he walked. Severus did not see them.

Liana wondered if it was pure coincidence Severus showed up, but the fact that he looked as though he was looking for her… Liana knew he knew she had just arrived.

"How are we going to get into the castle?" Liana asked.

They were quiet until Neville spoke. "You should go alone and speak to Dumbledore. We will all wait here by the edge of the forest, so we can't be seen. Liana nodded. She didn't want to risk her friends joining her under a charm that only made them partly invisible. Severus would be looking out for anything suspicious.

Liana put the backpack on, with the cup inside. And then the put the cloak over herself and walked to the castle.

When she opened the castle door, she felt relief sink over her… The familiar smells and sounds—she was home again. Quickly though, she moved to Dumbledore's office. She wasn't sure where her father would be. When she reached the statue that led to the office, she paused. Liana did not want to enter until she knew for certain that her father was not in the office with Dumbledore.

Luckily, Liana did not have to wait long. The statue was moving and her father appeared, descending from the office's stairwell. He looked right through Liana. Severus looked fierce. He was even intimidating to Liana, but he also looked weak and tired. Liana fought her instinct to remove the cloak and run to him. She craved to tell him that she found a horcrux, even if he was more furious than proud.

When her father was out of sight, she whispered candy names until she had the correct password. She stepped onto the rising stairs and entered the office. When she was in the office, she removed her cloak and locked the door behind her.

"Miss Evans…" Dumbledore sounded cheerful. "I am relieved to see you."

"Professor, I have a horcrux, but I do not know how to destroy it." She set the backpack down and pulled the cup out and sat it on his desk.

"Where did you find this?" Dumbledore's blue eyes twinkled over his half-moon spectacles.

"Where Voldemort had his honeymoon." Liana replied. "We have no idea about the location of the next one—"

"I must stop you there, Liana." Dumbledore put a hand up. "As you can presume, your father is entirely distraught over where you may be and if you are safe." Liana felt guilt creep up. "Therefore, I must ask you to proceed by telling me few details, so that you can continue this journey without your father interfering. I must admit he is a better Occlumens than I am, and I do not wish to cause any problems for your journey if your father's desperation reaches the point he tries to enter my mind for information on your whereabouts."

Liana smiled. Dumbledore could be trusted.

"We don't know how to destroy it."

"Yes," Dumbledore stated as he rose from his chair. He returned carrying the sword of Gryffindor. "This shall work. This is what I used to destroy previous horcruxes. I will tell you that it is a taxing ordeal to destroy one. The horcrux will fight for its life and try to break you, and keep you from destroying it. Remember, it only speaks lies of your worst nightmares…" Dumbledore said this softly.

Liana looked at Dumbledore, she had no idea what to expect. She raised the sword above the cup on the desk when a cloud of black smoke emerged. The black smoke formed the shape of her father. He spoke in a tone that he only used with his most disliked students.

"I am glad you don't have my last name. I regret your birth more than I regret anything in my life." Liana took a step back. She knew this was not reality of Severus, but this was still tortuous. "You have caused nothing but bothersome hassle to my life." Severus was shouting now. "I wish Voldemort killed you and never took my wife away!"

Liana took a few steps forward and swung the sword down onto the cup. The cloudy form of her father disappeared, and she looked down at cracked cup for a moment before she fell to her knees. Her scar felt as though it was being ripped open. Her hands held her forehead. Dumbledore moved closer to her.

"Liana? Liana, are you alright?"

Liana saw Voldemort. He was sitting near his wife, Bellatrix. He reached he hand out towards her neck. Liana thought he was going to strangle her, but he pulled a long chain, and a large locket came out from under her top. Voldemort held the locket tightly. "Malfoy Manor… Hide this!" Voldemort seethed.

Liana opened her eyes. She was on the floor of the office. "I know the next horcrux!" She said. She knew there was a chance she would get a vision of the next one, but she wasn't counting on it.

Putting a hand up, "Keep that between you and your friends."

Nodding, "So we have this one… Then one more, and then Voldemort is mortal?" Liana noted something odd in Dumbledore's expression as he nodded in agreement, but she didn't think anything of it. Liana sat in thought until she stated she was going to get going to Malfoy Manor, but Dumbledore stopped her.

"I have more to give you for your journey. He opened his desk drawer and pulled out a small book.

"The Tale of the Three Brothers?" Liana asked.

Then Dumbledore placed a small black stone before her. Liana looked from the stone to her cloak. "The story is true?" She gasped. "That was just something my dad would read to me when I was younger."

Dumbledore reached into his drawer again and pulled out a snitch. "This is the snitch from your very first quidditch match." Liana tried not to make a face as she recalled that she had swallowed that snitch. However, the snitch was open to reveal a small hollowed inside of the gold object. Dumbledore put the stone inside the snitch and shut it with a click. "This will open for you at the moment it is to be used." She nodded, not sure when she would be needing the Resurrection Stone. It made her uncomfortable that there was the chance she would be needing someone from the dead. She hoped it wasn't someone that was alive now…

"What about the wand?"

"The Elder Wand will be helpful in destroying Voldemort, but there is nothing further you need to understand." And then Dumbledore pulled his own wand out.

"You have it?"

Dumbledore nodded. Liana felt relieved. She wondered if this meant Dumbledore would be the one to finish Voldemort.

"Take the snitch, and keep your cloak close to you. And be safe." Then Dumbledore shrunk the sword of Gryffindor, so she would be able to carry it with her easily and without fret of it being stolen.

Liana rose to leave. She wanted to get away from Hogwarts soon and find the locket. She was in disbelief at the progress that had been made in only a few days.

Before the put the cloak on entirely over herself and her backpack, with the new belongings within it, she turned to Dumbledore. "Please tell my dad I'm sorry."

Dumbledore nodded and looked at her with an understanding expression. "You are doing the right thing. Your father will understand sooner than later…"

Liana tried to smile before cloaking herself and disappearing.

Moments later, Liana was back outside the castle with her friends. She filled them in on everything. They also worried about when the Resurrection Stone would be needed, but the felt relieved that Dumbledore had an invincible wand. Liana turned to Demon, who was sitting by her feet.

"Demon, you're going to need to stay behind on this one. Find Dad. Make him know I'm okay." Demon made a soft woof as though he understood.

Then the three friends held each other as they apparated away to Malfoy Manor.

Demon watched them disappear, and then he want running to the castle. It wasn't long before he found Severus. He was pacing outside The Room of Requirements. Severus thought maybe Liana was in there. Severus never thought he'd be so relieved to see his daughter's mutt. He knelt down and wrapped his arms around the dog. Then he stopped and move away in case any students were looking.

Severus knew Liana must be in the school, or she was in the school… He stormed off again to Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore was not surprised to see him with Demon following behind him.

"Did you speak to her?"

Before Dumbledore could even respond. Severus broke into his mind and saw the entire occurrence that just happened moments ago. Severus was livid.

"Tell me, Albus, when is she going to need the Resurrection Stone? Right before she is to be slaughtered? How can you lead her on like that? She thinks he will be mortal!"

Dumbledore was quiet until, "You don't approve of her hunting these horcruxes because you know she'll eventually hunt the one within her…"

Severus glared at Dumbledore. That was obviously the answer. After Severus yelled at the man more in colorful language, too enraged to form educated sounding thoughts.

He turned to leave the office, his cloak billowing behind him. He stormed from the castle until he left the grounds; Demon following behind. Severus placed a hand on Demon's back when they were off the grounds of the castle, and they apparated to London. Where Severus then told the remaining Order members what had occurred, Remus and Tonks, Sirius, Molly and Author Weasley.

They all sat and watched, horrified, as Ron's arm of the clock move from "Traveling" to "Mortal Peril."

4.

Liana's heart pounded as they walked up to the eerie gated mansion. The sun was starting to truly disappear now. It was debated between the four if the darkness would aid or harm their stealing of the locket. They concluded it would assist them. As they approached the gate, they spoke about how they would enter the house. In whispers they spoke of how they would circle the house to get the whereabouts of the individuals inside and the house setup.

Nearing the gate, Liana looked at the wide iron bars. "We should fit between them…"

"This seems too easy…" Hermione stated.

"We still have to get into the actual house…" Neville reasoned.

They all nodded and were about to squeeze their bodies through the gate, but the instant the iron touched Liana's finger, black smoke swirled around them and Lucius Malfoy appeared. Before they all could apparate away, Lucius snatched his hand onto Liana's forearm, and ripped her wand from her hands, three other men Liana did not know appeared as well and grabbed the other Gryffindors, taking their wands as well. He moved his face close to Liana's. "Pleasant surprise to see you, Miss Evans..." He sneered.

With a flick of his wand the gate opened and they were moved inside the house into a dark but open sitting room.

"Draco!" Lucius spat. "Look what we've found…" He shoved Liana down onto a chair and traced her collarbone with his finger in a bothersome way.

Draco emerged from a neighboring room. An expression crossed his face that Liana did not understand. It was almost as though Draco looked angered at his father touching Liana in a way with ill intentions.

"Who's here?" Came another voice. Then Bellatrix entered the room with her sister, Narcissa.

"Liana Evans… Or is it Snape? I never followed if you had your name changed. Not like naming you Evans was going to hide that you were the subject of the prophecy all those years ago. My husband is the most prevailing wizard; a name change wasn't going to stop him from figuring out you were the baby trying to stop him." Bellatrix spoke proudly.

"Your husband is a swine!" Liana spat. Her friends couldn't help but think about how much she sounded like her father when she said that.

Bellatrix moved across the floor. "Don't you dare insult him… I will make you regret the day you ever even dared to even think an insult about him…" And then Bellatrix grabbed Liana's arm and pulled her with great force out of the room, hearing Ron shouting behind her, Lucius and one of the men Liana hadn't seen before held him back. Ron's eyes had a look of pure panic in them as he looked at Liana, and Liana looked at him as she was dragged away.

Bellatrix locked Liana up in a nearby room. Her friends could still hear her cries. Ron was shouting, trying to get away to Liana. Even Draco looked unnerved. Lucius had the other three Gryffindors moved to the cellar of the mansion, where apparition was not able to occur. Ron still shouted at the sounds of Liana being tortured as he pounded on the door.

It seemed like ages had gone by when Liana was shoved onto the basement floor by Lucius. Ron ran to her side. The lighting in the cellar was dim since they didn't have their wands, and no light came in through the window. Just dim lanterns in the room gave off a small glow.

"Are you okay?" Ron asked. The three friends surrounded her as she lay motionless on the floor.

She nodded. Ron noticed tear stains on her cheeks, and then he saw that she was grasping her forearm. Blood was pouring out from sliced wounds.

"What does that say?" Neville asked as he looked at her arm.

"Avada Kedavra…" Hermione whispered. "This isn't an ordinary wound. It isn't clotting at all. She needs help… She needs blood replenishing potions."

"My dad…" Liana whispered. They all knew they needed to get Severus's help.

The question was, how would they get his help?

5.

Severus, Remus and Tonks, Sirius, Molly and Author Weasley still hadn't moved from the spot in the kitchen where they saw the arm of the clock move to, even though it was well into the middle of the night and hours had past. They watched it intensely, hoping to see Ron's arm move away from "Mortal Peril" and to another option, preferably school or home, somewhere where the adults could intervene.

6.

The four Gryffindors sat in the basement. Ron held Liana. He had ripped part of his shirt to try and stop the bleeding by tying it around the wound, but the blood kept seeing through. Liana's complexion was getting increasingly pale.

Finally the door of the basement opened quickly and shut behind it.

Draco stood in the cellar now.

Ron stood up, ready to attack Draco even though Ron's only defense was his fists, only thinking of how Draco sliced Liana open in the bathroom with Severus's spell before Draco was expelled, but then Draco surprised them all.

"Here…" He handed them all there wands. He knelt down by Liana. "Bellatrix snapped yours in half." Liana felt as though a part of her heart was breaking. "Take mine for the time being."

"What?" Liana lamented.

"Evans, end this war." Draco responded. "I never wanted to be a part of this, and I can't continue to live if The Dark Lord keeps his reign. I can't tell you what I've been forced to witness since my father made me receive The Mark…"

Liana couldn't believe what her childhood enemy was telling her. She knew he wasn't well before he had to leave Hogwarts; now she knew why he was so tormented. She nodded and took Draco's wand.

"But we can't leave without—"

"This…" Draco interrupted Hermione as he held out a large locket on a thick chain. "I don't know what it is, but you showed up after my father put this into his safe. He was far too adamant about keeping this locket safe for me not to know it is of great importance to You-Know-Who…"

"Malfoy…" Liana began, she was feeling incredibly ill, and was looking terrible. "Thank you."

"My old house elf is going to be here soon. He can apparate you out of here, and to the Hospital Wing."

"What will you do?" Neville asked. "Without a wand?"

"I'll use my mother's or use one we having sitting around here." He stood up and moved towards the door. "Don't make me regret this." He placed one hand on the door handle of the cellar. "Evans," Liana gazed up at him feebly. "I hadn't any clue what that curse did."

Then he quietly shut the door, locking them in the cellar again.

It was only a few seconds before Dobby appeared. Dobby even realized the intensity of the situation for Liana. He wasn't the chatty elf as usual. Quickly, he assured everyone together, and they disappeared from Malfoy Manor. Neville held the locket tightly in his hand.

7.

"It's changing!" Molly shrieked as they all watched the shrunken family clock sit on the table. "Traveling!"

"School!" Remus shouted as a faint pop was heard, and Severus disappeared from the kitchen. Everyone else apparated seconds later. They were all going to the edge of Hogwart's grounds…
