Chapter 51: Kill the Root

Outside...

"Just fucking die already!"

"Sonya!" Tatsumi's voice flew across the air as the Supreme Teigu's foot came down, sending sound waves resonating throughout the town. Clouds of dust and debris swept through the streets as houses were bulldozed down due to the tremors. "Sonya! Can you hear me?!"

"Did I do it?" The Emperor asked as he looked down, twisting the foot for good measure. "Is she dead?"

Ka-Pow! A sudden burst of power exploded from underneath, throwing the Teigu off balance and it crashed into the palace. The ground quaked violently from the impact.

"Wha-What?!" Honest gripped the railing so tightly his knuckles turned white, squinting with his small pig eyes. "She isn't dead! Your majesty, what are you doing?!"

"I-I don't know!" The Emperor's voice floated through in panic and the Supreme Teigu rose back up into a standing position. "I thought I got her for sure!"

"Huff...huff...huff..." My breathing was ragged but I stood with my right hand raised high, fingers curled into a fist. From the sides of my head were very distinctive horns and on my back was the same floating disk Susanoo use to have when he used his Trump Card against Esdese.

"What kind of power is that?"

"Your majesty!" Honest screamed as spit flew through his teeth. "Don't stand there admiring flies! Squash her immediately!"

"Get a taste of this! I wanna see how well you handle this kind of fire power!" Missiles just like before shot out of the Teigu and came straight towards me but I was ready for him. Jumping up into the air I prepared for my first move, watching as the projectiles honed in on me while detaching the disk from my back.

"Yata no Kagami." I placed the disk in front of me like a giant shield. The glass glowed brightly as it sucked in all of the projectiles.

"Krgh, she reflected all my missiles back to me?!" The Emperor cringed as billowing pillars of smoke appeared along the Supreme Teigu's body. "How is that even possible?"

And this is my new Teigu which I received from the Revolutionary army as a loan, Speed of Lightning, Susanoo. Since he's an organism-type that moves on his own, there's little burden on the user...even the current me can use him.

"Ah!" Tatsumi walked up and extended his hand. "Nice to meet you, again."

He's unexpectedly a neat freak.

"...so it has started..." I murmured as I stood on the rooftop looking at my hands in wonder. While I was busy sending the missiles back there was a strange sensation I felt in the back of my mind before it disappeared and with it, a memory of Susanoo. I don't remember which one it was but when I tried to think about it I drew a blank. "I won't be able to retain this form for much longer."

"Why you!" Enraged the Emperor attempted a punch but I counterattacked with a replica of Susanoo's beloved weapon, Wolf Fang Mace.

"I want to see just how hard that armor of yours is." Throwing the arm to the side I rushed towards my enemy using Susanoo's Yasakani no Magatama to increase my speed. Gripping the weapon in hand I thrust it straight into the Teigu's chest, causing the armor to crack and groan.

Damn it! Where the hell did this power boost come from?! The Emperor growled under his breath. Where the hell does it come from!

"Hmm...that's some hard armor." I commented as I landed back on the roof of a nearby house, looking up at the small cracks running along the chest plate. "Even this weapon couldn't hurt you that much...unfortunately a couple more swings should do the trick."

"Shut up shut up shut up! Ahhhhh!"

"Run!"

"Those missiles are coming back for us!"

"God save us!"

There's still civilians here in this town?! I turned to see people running through the streets just as the Emperor let loose another barrage of missiles. Because there were still fights breaking out between the Revolutionary Army and the Empire, most of the streets were blocked and the main exit was already piling up. Some of the spectators found themselves dying during the crossfire while others sustained injuries. "Damn it!"

"What do you think about that?!" The Emperor howled with glee as he watched the fireworks on the monitor from within his safety bubble. "I'll purge every single one of you by any means necessary!"

"You bastard! Yata no Kagami!" I used the same trick of sucking in all of the missiles into the mirror and sending it back at the Emperor. However he was ready and crossed both arms to protect himself. Somersaulting backwards I landed not too far away and soon the horns disappeared and I returned to my normal attire.

"Sonya, you alright? That was really cool!" Tatsumi exclaimed as he appeared right next to me, smiling from behind his mask. "How in the world were you able to use Susanoo's power?"

"Susanoo?" I turned to look at him with a puzzling look, unsure where the name come from. "Who's Susanoo?"

"How could you forget about Suu-san?" He questioned, looking as if I had gone crazy. "Don't you remember our training away from the Empire way back when?"

"I don't know who you're talking about Tatsumi." I said earnestly and stood up, mentally preparing myself for what's coming next. "Is he your friend from back home? I'd love to meet him one day!"

She...doesn't remember Suu-san? Tatsumi thought about it silently to himself, staring at me with calculating eyes. What's going on...?

"Don't rest now, I've got plenty more where that came from!" The Emperor smirked as he unleashed more and more missiles; it was like he had an unlimited supply of fire power. To add more to the difficulty he also prepared to fire off a beam from the mouth opening.

"He's insane!" Tatsumi growled, tightening his grip on his weapon. "He really wants to eradicate everyone here?!"

"Triumph." The dog tag shined brightly and I soon had gloves with metallic fingertips strapped onto both hands. "Next Teigu, complete."

"That's...Raba's Teigu!"

"What can you do with that puny thing?" The Emperor grinned as I unwound the threads. "It can't stand up to the might of my Teigu!"

"I'll show you!" My hands moved gracefully on their own as they weaved the threads into action. The once dangerous missiles were soon bisected, resulting in explosions to occur through the sky. I soon realized that the more I spun out the thread the faster memories of Rabac and I seemed to disappear.

Rabac right?

Ohhh! It's that sexy girl from that time! He smiled up at me. How are ya?

Another one has disappeared. I thought as I continued hacking at the missiles with the threads. I felt as though Rabac's spirit was standing beside me, guiding me through the motions. It was like he was in control once again. What was I doing? Who was that green-haired guy? Soon the barrage stopped and I was able to take a quick breather, resting my hands on my knees and sweat rolling down my face. Throughout the entire process I had lost a good chunk of memories pertaining to Rabac but the battle still raged on so I still had more to lose.

"Damn it..." Honest growled under his breath before shouting instructions to the Emperor. "Your Majesty! Don't rest now!"

"I know. I know." The Emperor replied breathlessly, feeling some strength come back knowing that he had the Prime Minister backing him up. . "You may have stopped those but why don't you try to stop this!" The beam from the mouth of the Supreme Teigu fired and came towards me at a fast pace. "Even your puny threads won't be able to do anything!"

"Stay back Sonya, I got this!" Tatsumi jumped in while I was taking a rest and deflected the beam with his weapon. He struggled a bit to get the upper hand but the power overwhelmed him and he flew back.

"Tatsumi!" I yelled as he crash into the ground with a loud bang, throwing smoke and dust into the air. "Tatsumi you okay?!"

"My Lord! There's your chance!" Honest's voice rang out. "Don't hesitate!"

"Gah!" I yelped as a solid fist slammed into my side and I flew back, smashing through a couple of houses before crashing against a very thick piece of solid concrete wall. "Uuugh..."

"Just stay down." The Emperor growled furiously from within his comfort sphere. "Stay down and don't get back up! I'm begging you!"

"...I won't..." I pried myself out of the wall and held my arm, grimacing with pain. At the last minute before the Teigu's giant fist connected with my body I spun the threads into a makeshift armor so luckily it cushioned some of the impact. "I won't stand down...not when you continue...to terrorize these people. Utilizing a weapon...you don't deserve to play with..." Rabac's Teigu were nowhere to be seen, which meant that any memory of him were completely erased.

"Why won't you die?! Quit being a thorn in my side!"

"Then that means I must be in a real...pinch." Grinning to myself I held Pumpkin, Mein's Teigu, confidently and fired back in response to the new barrage of missiles unleashed from the Supreme Teigu's back. The beam of energy cut through and demolished all of the fired projectiles in the blink of an eye. Not holding back I fired another beam that struck the Teigu dead center, pushing it back a step. Timing his own attack Tatsumi helped take some of the attention off of me and the two of us continued our onslaught.

"Grrrrr...these guys...attacking me like this..." The Emperor gritted his teeth with seething fury as he eyed us from within the closure of his little orb. The Teigu took some heavy damage but it still stood on its two feet with noticeable marks running all along its armor. "What are they..."

"He doesn't seem to be attacking us at full power." Tatsumi commented as he stood next to me. A small wisp of smoke came out of Pumpkin's barrel as I waited for the Emperor to make a move. "I wonder what it takes to push him over the edge."

"I'm sure if we annoy him enough that'll draw out his full potential." I answered back. "If anything I agree that he is just toying with us since the beginning."

"Supreme Teigu's Trump Card...Activate!" Honest's voice pierced through shocking not only Tatsumi and I but the Emperor as well. An ominous wind blew as the massive weapon stood erect, poised and silent. Slowly the mouth opened up revealing all sorts of sharp teeth, causing Tatsumi and I to be on edge in case of an attack.

"What is happening...!?" The Emperor screamed as some kind of ooze seeped into the orb and grabbed onto his clothes. "Unhand me this instant! Do you know who I am?!" He struggled harder and harder as the ooze continued to wrap around him. "Prime Minister! What's happening Prime Minister!"

"My lord, you are too kind." Honest whispered as he tuned out the Emperor's scream. "It leads to the weakness of the Teigu. I have worried about it for a long time so I have prepared a hidden move. He looked up with glee as the Teigu changed into something demonic and chuckled. "This is a combination of alchemy and Teigu. Behold! Purge Mode!"

"Huh?"

"Purge Mode?" Tatsumi and I looked at the newly transformed giant. Despite all the weird eyeballs that appeared along the joints of the giant, it still retained its size.

"You fools trying to go against the Empire..." The Emperor's voice floated through except it sounded eerie and demented. "As your ruler I will judge everyone of you now!" In one quick motion of a hand almost half of the town reduced to rubble with smoke billowing up into the skies. Screams of citizens filled the air and soldiers of both sides tried to quell the chaos.

"Normal citizens and even their own soldiers were killed together..." Tatsumi whispered as we scanned the devastation.

"Heehee heehee..." The emperor laughed as he prepared another attack, a dark ball materializing in front of the Teigu's chest. "This calls for a celebration! A celebration light of my new nation!"

"STOP!" Tatusmi screamed as he rushed forward to intercept.

"Tatusmi!" I yelled just as the dark ball was fired. It flew through the air towards the outskirts where the Revolutionary Army was stationed, sucked in the unsuspecting soldiers and other inanimate objects, condensed into a tiny ball and blew up. The mushroom cloud was the end result. Tatsumi himself wasn't hurt as he stood before the Supreme Teigu, weapon in hand and his rage boiling after witnessing the powerful blast.

"How beautiful." Honest swooned as he looked at the majestic cloud. "It feels like I'm looking at a technology from the far future. Well done your majesty." He held his arms out to the side with glee. "According to my sign or to my death it will be activated and so this happened, now both my lord and Teigu will not stop killing their enemy until all of them die."

"You monster!" I screamed at him to which he laughed in response, gazing at me with eyes filled with madness.

"It is your resistance's fault that you guys pushed until here." He snarled. "Just get killed quietly~"

Underground Passage...

"Saikyuu-san...is it really necessary to run away since the Supreme Teigu's appearance?"

"Even though it is a good weapon, you will lose if you don't use it well." The man known as Saikyuu replied as he stood in the middle of a group of bodyguards. "If we escape now, we can run away completely. Our Lord is too kind."

"Right?"

"Yeah...our Lord has always treated us with hospitality and kindness." The guards all muttered in agreement.

"We can return after our victory." Saikyuu continued, closing what looked to be a book in his hands, a book with a danger beast's eye on the cover. "Even if we lose we can rebuild our nation with my Teigu." The man's Teigu, World book Rongo Rongo, contains every single map in the world. In the case of the Empire, there are every single detailed information including mountains and the land. The last page of the book even has records of what natural disasters would happen in the future.

If this kind of things happen, it is not good to be Prime Minister who will be targeted first. Saikyuu cracked a malicious grin, rewarding himself with a pat on the back. Supporting from the back and surviving at the same time that is how I live.

"I won't let you go." A voice spoke and they turned to address the speaker. "I will murder every single one of you who made the citizens suffer for all this time."

"Akame!" Saikyuu shrieked in terror as the red-eyed assassin approached them.

"I'll bury you." Unsheathing Murasame from its holster, she rushed forward

Right now...there's a battle which will be a history happening outside...Saikyuu stood there petrified as Akame cut down his guards one after the other without breaking a sweat. Even in this basement here...you won't let me go and target...me.

"You're the only one left."

"What I want to train is...the ones who kill the darkness inside the darkness." Saikyuu smirked as Akame stormed up to him, leaving the cut up corpses of the guards behind her. Really, what a perfect assassin...!

"Target, Saikyuu. Bury him." Akame spoke as she walked towards her last target.

Think of it, one sentence that could save my life! The man nervously nibbled on his own skin as sweat rolled down his face. Akame was originally one of us! There must be something I can use...! He bit his hand a little harder, hard enough to break the skin and a trickle of blood appeared from the little wound. If I over come this situation I can do it. Something...! Something...!

Removing his hand from his mouth he stood there silently for a minute before coming up with an idea. "If you save my life... erm...!"

SWOOOOOOOSH~

Have no mercy...Akame silently cut through the man without batting an eyelash. Don't give them time to talk...the one who ordered, to train her...was me. Releasing one last cry of terror he crumpled to the ground and became silent, his eyes glancing upward towards the ceiling.

"Hmph." Akame released a sigh, looking at the man's sliced corpse before picking up the book that fell on the ground. A Teigu? Better take it to Boss first. Suddenly her senses tingled in warning and she whirled around, Murasame pointed towards the darkness. "Who's there!"

"I'm surprised." A voice floated through as the figure appeared. "I came here for a mission but it seems like Saikyuu got killed in the end."

"Suzuka." The Night Raider stated apprehensively as she held the book close to her side. "I'm surprised to see you."

"It's been such a long time. Although I was hoping it would be the other little girl, I haven't played with her since who knows when." The last of the demons said, sending Akame a small wink. "I don't want to kill you to be honest but since we crossed path, it is my job as well." Clapping her hands the walls started to shake and vibrate before cracks ran across the ceiling and the floor.

"Huh!?" The dark-haired assassin looked up in surprise as chunks of rock and concrete came crashing down. She hoped to the side as more rumbles could be heard around around the basement. "The roof's collapsing?! No...the entire place is coming down!"

"I activated a trap to destroy the basement because I am not sure whether I can win against you or not." Suzuka stated with glee as rocks piled up around her but it would seem like she didn't really care for her own well being. "Let's die together."

"Are you insane?!" Akame growled just as a giant slab landed on top of the demon, pinning her to the ground.

"Well it's not like I'll die anyway." Suzuka grinned, disappearing underneath the rocks until just her arm was visible. "I'll be going first then!" Seeing as there was nothing more that she could do Akame quickly made her way out of the basement before it caved in completely.

Elsewhere...

Wave and Kurome, startled by the loud explosion from the dark ball fired by the Supreme Teigu, hurried out of the hut to see a massive amount of clouds in the sky. Now it's normal to have clouds up there but they knew that it was an abnormal amount and something happened.

"What kind of ordnance did he use." Kurome whispered in a small voice. She glanced at Wave who tightened his grip on her, bringing her close to him protectively. He had a look of pure disgust and anger.

"Are you going to kill every single living thing...all the way out here...?" He gritted his teeth with anger. "That's no way a king or emperor is supposed to rule."

"...Wave."

"Kurome..." He looked down at her with a thoughtful expression.

"If you need to go Wave, then go." She told him encouragingly. "But please, come back to me when you're done."
