Day 53: Wednesday
"I don't want to remember," She muttered, hugging herself "; don't make me remember, please."
Looming over her broken figure, he replied dangerously, "Well, we don't want you blabbing to the police about this, darling."
Fluttering her eyes open, she laid there trying to calm her breathing. She groaned at the intense pounding of her head, she thought 'It was just a fever induced nightmare, and I haven't had a nightmare about that since, since…' burying her face into the pillow from thinking, she asked, "How long have I been sick?"
"Only two weeks; I knew bothering you would make it worse." He answered, pulling her closer to him.
Going back on her side of the bed, she replied, "I don't want you to get sick too, shouldn't you be on the couch?"
Propping himself up, he retorted, "I gave the couch up, not sure to who anymore," he stretched continuing "besides I probably would've gotten pissed anyway."
Lying back down, she silently agreed while looking at her nightstand, noticing an unopened letter. Reaching for it, Shadow stopped her by pinning her hand above her head. She frowned and reversed their positions once again reaching for it; she yelped at falling to the floor. Grabbing it in the process, she scrambled to her feet. Turning towards him triumphantly, her smile changed to shock at noticing her brother in the doorway.
Smiling nervously, she entered the bathroom and shut the door. Looking at Randy, he said, "None of that happened and you saw nothing."
"Uh huh, sure I didn't." closing the door behind him, he laughed lightly at the two. Finally getting up, Shadow walked to the bathroom door, lightly tapping on it.
Peeking out at him, she smiled holding the letter in front of him. Taking it away from her, he said, "It's not true."
"Oh really, judging by your word choice, you meant it." She replied, still smiling. He opened his mouth to say something, he closed it having nothing to retort.
Turning away from her, he uttered, "Get dressed, you have training to do."
Walking outside, wearing an army pattern training suit, she stopped in front of him. "Crane stance, Female." He ordered, lowering himself.
Sighing, she replied, "We both know that ain't…"
"Dodge!" he yelled, attacking from the left. Jumping back, she reared her foot forward making contact with his side. Pulling out a ball and chain, he flung it forward wrapping it around her waist and pulling her towards him, commenting, "You're pretty good, but it needs improvement."
Wriggling free, she retorted, "You ain't too bad yerself." Getting back into a horse stance, he charged again phasing from her view. She yelped at the sudden weight on top of her.
"Okay, that didn't work the way I wanted it to. But you dodged right, Female?" Shadow asked, looking beneath him only to get a muffled yell in response. Getting from under him, she gasped, rolling to her feet.
Glaring at him, she yelled, "You idiot, what were you thinking?! Give me my hair pin back!"
Holding the pin in his hand, he grinned replying, "I was going to attack you from behind, but it didn't work. Also, if you can take my right glove without holding me down, then you get your pin back; if not you have to wear your hair down for the remainder of this month."
Letting out a low chuckle, she said, "Fine, but if I succeed in getting your glove you sleep on the floor."
"Fair enough, Female."
Lunging forwards, she slashed at him lagging a bit when within his reach. Dodging with ease, he commented, "I see you get less strategic when you have no control, how admirable."
"You should really pay attention more." She replied, smiling lightly gesturing towards his hands.
Looking at his hand getting a glimpse of the blood like mark, he jammed it in his pocket, muttering "How the hell did you get my glove so quick?"
Pinning her hair back up, she retorted "Easy, I waited until you were caught off guard, which somehow happened quickly."
Throwing his glove at him, he slipped it back on walking inside grumbling about how she supposedly cheated. Lying on the floor, he chuckled and looked at the real pin in his hand. 'So much for winning.' He thought, closing his eyes.
A/N: Well, I thought this would be at least two weeks late, but I guess not. By the way, since the recent chapters have been in third person I'll switch back to first for a while so I don't forget how to write in first person. Review please.
