The Winchester siblings watched with closed off expression as the doctor pulled the white sheet over the body of an old woman. The woman had been beaten pretty badly and died of her injuries.
:The girl works fast.: Cheshire said. Selena didn't comment. The three went over to the EMT by the reception desk.
"Excuse me." Sam said as they flashed the EMT their badges. "Was she the only victim?"
"She was found by the side of the road, barely alive. Alone." The EMT replied.
"We need to find her next of kin." Dean said. The EMT flipped through some papers in his hand until he found what he was looking for.
"She has a granddaughter."
"Do you have an address?" The EMT handed Dean the paper with the woman's information on it and Dean gave him a small nod. "Thank you."
"Thanks." They walked away from the EMT.
"You and Selena find a way to stop Callie, all right?" Dean said.
"What about you?" Dean stopped and turned to face Sam and Selena.
"I'm gonna go stop the big bad wolf…which is the weirdest thing I've ever said." Dean blinked, then turned and resumed walking. Sam and Selena went to find Dr. Garrison. Walking through the halls, Selena felt a muscle in her left cheek twitch, making her scar twinge in pain. She resisted the urge to reach up a hand and rub it. When was the last time she changed her stitches or cleaned her scar? Hm…Maybe she could bear the stench of the loud hospital a bit longer. But getting her scar looked at will cost money. A lot of money and a paper trail she didn't want to have.
:Why ask when you can just take?: Cheshire questioned slyly.
'Too many eyes.' Selena replied, making the feline let out a bark of laughter.
:And when has that ever stopped us?: The corner of her lips twitched into a small smirk.
"Sam." The tall hunter glanced at her.
"Yeah?"
"I have a bit of business that I need to attend to." They stopped walking, facing each other. Sam's expression confused.
"What business?"
"Business that won't take too long. You don't need my help in questioning the doctor, do you?"
"No…"
"I will be back." Without further ado, she turned on her heel and went in the other direction. It didn't take her sharp eyes long to locate a 'helpful' nurse to lead her to their supplies. Going intangible, Selena followed the nurse to a storage room and when the nurse got what she needed then left, she returned to tangible form and sniffed the air. Antiseptic, drugs, and blood. Four cabinets along the wall caught her eye, and she approached them. Neat rows of medicine supplies greeted her. Trying a door handle, her emotionless expression didn't change when she found the cabinet locked. It was no matter to her. The crackling of ice resonated faintly in the room as a hand-sized ice mirror materialized on the cabinet doors. Selena stuck her hand through the mirror and grabbed one of the antiseptic bottles. One down, one more to go. The ice mirror dissolved as she turned to look for thread. Locating the thread, she quickly grabbed it and turned intangible before exiting the room.

"I'm calling security." Dr. Garrison said, walking over to the phone on Callie's room wall. Sam placed his hand over it, preventing the doctor from picking it up. He was getting annoyed. He did not have time to be trying to convince the doctor to listen to him.
"No, listen-I don't have time to do this gently." Sam replied sharply. "If you don't listen to me, more people are going to get hurt because Calling is going to hurt them."
"He speaks the truth, doctor." Sam and Dr. Garrison's head snapped up towards the door where Selena stood. She closed it softly behind her and approached the two. The doctor looked between the siblings, confusion and disbelief on his face.
"What the hell are you two talking about?"
"You're going to think we're crazy, but just listen to me. Your daughter, Callie, is still here. She's a spirit." Dr. Garrison's expression wasn't exactly surprised, but one of a man who's just come to terms with something. Selena's head tilted slightly, watching the doctor turn to Callie and walk over to the bed, sitting down at the end.
"You already knew this though," Selena drawled, eyes narrowed slightly. "Didn't you?" He looked at her and gave a slow nod. Sam's brows furrowed in bemusement, then rose in realization.
"Wait, you knew?" He questioned. Dr. Garrison stood up and walked around the bed, stopping at Callie's side. He looked at her with affection and sadness for a moment in silence.
"I sensed her…Callie. Her presence, her scent. I even saw her standing at the foot of my bed, but I never believed it." He turned to Sam and Selena. "I thought I was dreaming."
"It wasn't a dream." Sam interjected. "She looks like she did when she was eight. White dress, red ribbon in her hair." The doctor blinked back tears. "She's been trying to talk to you."
"You guys are not cops, are you?" Dr. Garrison asked.
"No."
"Then who are you?"
"People who know a little bit about this kind of thing."
"Well, what you said about my wife poisoning Callie, that-"
"Sir, Callie told us."
"What?"
"Not in so many words. But in her own way, she told us."
"My wife loved Callie!" Dr. Garrison exclaimed angrily. "So how's that possible?"
"Humans are unique in that way." Selena replied. "We make other people see what we want them to see." He shook his head in denial.
"No, no. I don't believe you."
"Look, Callie is killing people. She's angry. She's desperate because nobody will listen to her. So you have to listen to her. Please…Listen to your daughter." Dr. Garrison went silent, rolling around the information in his mind. His eyes flickered to Callie and he let out a breath before sitting on the bed beside her.
"Callie?" He called hesitantly. "Callie. It's me Daddy. Is it true? Mommy do that to you? I-I know I wasn't listening before, but I'm listening now. Daddy's here. Please, honey, is there any way that you can tell me?" Sam and Selena's frame tenses as they see the spirit of Callie in the room.
"Doctor." Sam called. Dr. Garrison glances at him and Sam inclines his head to something behind him. Turning, the doctor gasped softly upon seeing his daughter standing there, holding back tears.
"Is it true?" After a second, Callie nodded. The dams burst and he let out a sharp breath.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, baby. But listen to me. You got to stop what you're doing, okay? You're hurting people. I know everything now. I know the truth. It's time for you to let go." He gave her a sad smile. "It's time for me to let you go." Callie's blank expression didn't change but he could see that she understood him. He stood up and turned back to her body, brushing some of her hair away from her forehead and placing a kiss on it. Her heart rate increased then it went flat. The beeping resonating in the room. Selena bowed her head slightly. She had never been good with emotional scenes.
:The big bad wolf should return to normal now.: Cheshire mused softly.
'Hn.' She turned on her heel and swiftly left the room to get away from the sadness in the room.

"And the girl's okay?" Dr. Garrison asked. The siblings and the doctor were standing by the reception desk in the lobby. Dean nodded and the doctor's shoulders sag with relief. "So…It's really over."
"Yeah. All thanks to you." Sam said.
"Callie was the most important thing in my life, but I should have let her go a long time ago."
"See you around, Doc." Dean said. The doctor looked at him.
"I sure hope not." Letting out a soft chuckle, he patted Dean on the arm and then brushed past them. The siblings watched him walk away in silence before Dean broke it.
"You know what he said." His gaze met Sam's. "Some good advice." Sam frowned.
"Is that what you want us to do, Dean? Just let you go?" Dean didn't answer for a long moment, then walked past Sam. His silence was answer enough to his two siblings. In the life of a hunter, dying is always an occupational hazard. You had to deal with it and keep moving on.

Selena exited the bathroom of the motel room they rented for the night, moving her jaw around behind her mask to test her new stitches. It hurt just a little, but that was normal. Satisfied with the stitches, she padded over to the bed Dean was already occupying and got in. Dean scooted over, making room for her. Normally, she would bunk with Sam, but she decided to bunk with Dean for the time being. It didn't take long for the siblings to fall asleep. Hours into the night, movement awoke Selena and her eyes snapped open only to narrow as she realized that Sam was up and moving. What was her little brother up to now? Another attempt to run away? No. She doubted it. Then what was he-Her eyes narrowed to slits as the dots connected. Oh, that foolish boy.
:Foolish boy, indeed. He seems to not understand that if the demon dies, then he dies.: Cheshire hissed softly. :Do you wish to stop him or let the train continue onto its derailment?: Selena's gaze flickered to a peacefully sleeping Dean. She did not want him to die yet she knew that a deal was a deal. There was no getting out of it. She shifted slightly, hearing Sam pause for a moment then move again as he concluded she would not wake up. First her father, now her older brother would go to Hell for saving their younger brother. She had a feeling it would become a pattern for the male Winchesters. She mentally sighed. If she went one way, then Dean would die, and if she went the other, Sam would die…She had to let one of them go. How ironic. Her eyes closed, praying mentally that she wouldn't come to regret her decision and that Sam would come back alive.
*TIME SKIP*
Crowley quickly pulled the pen away from the parchment paper to avoid making a mistake as someone knocked on his office door. He scowled, looking up with a displeased air.
"What is it?" He asked curtly. The door opened and a male crossroads demon entered, approaching his desk and stopping in front of it. "Well?"
"Uh, sir, we just got informed that Harper is dead" Crowley blinked, setting down his pen. Dead? How? He asked the demon this out loud.
"By the Colt, sir. Sam Winchester summoned her."
"I see…" The King of the crossroads waved his hand, dismissing the demon. He leaned back in his chair as the doors closed. While this wasn't surprising news, it was still concerning. It meant that Sam would look for the one who holds his contract, which is Lilith and with that gun of theirs, no demon would be safe. Though Lilith would probably want that, considering that Sam is the only thing preventing the throne from truly being hers. He gritted his teeth as he remembered how she asked-no, ordered him to give his contracts to her. The nerve of that whore! The balm to that wound was that he was still King of the crossroads. The production rate was high, and he wasn't losing any customers any time soon. His eyes roamed around his office, stopping at the spot next to his desk where there once was a pool of his own blood. After Azazel had left him bleeding out, he had hauled himself up and healed his meat suit, then cleaned the blood. He had been pretty pissed because that suit wasn't just something you get blood on so casually! But his anger had changed to curiosity as the general's warning echoed in his head. Was he correct with his assumptions the first time? Were Selena and Azazel sleeping together? Why else would he lay claim on her so strongly? No. He shook his head. Selena was still a virgin and he doubted she would lay with the one who killed her father and mother. So what was the connection between the two? The only other one he could ask was the hunter herself. Mind made up, Crowley picked up his pen and got back to work. He would go find the female hunter, all without any one of Azazel's cronies finding out. He smirked. Easy.
