So, I'm back again! It's been too long again but I really don't have much time lately. I'm so sorry! Anyway! Here it is! And thank you all for your reviews, favorites etc. I hope I haven't tired you with all the waiting. Oh! And Happy New Year everyone!

PS. This chapter is dedicated to all the KanamexAngel fans out there ;) ;) ;)

It was half an hour later that we were allowed to enter the infirmary again after the psychotic man that called himself a doctor opened the door and let us pass but not before giving me a warning glare before exiting the room.

I quickly took my place next to my sister, sitting down on the mattress as close to her as I could. From the corner of my eye I spotted the noble vampire leaning back against the wall next to the door while the hand placed on my shoulder signaled the hunter's presence right behind me.

"So what did he say?" I asked softly as I pushed a thin lock of the girl's hair away from her forehead. She gave me a faint smile while she curled herself in a ball facing me.

"It's just lack of sleep. I've had so much in my mind so-"

I let out a deep breath as I shook my head at her disapprovingly. Of course, that had to be it. She was dealing with a lot of stress lately and sooner or later it would affect her health. Why did she have to be so careless? Did I really have to chase her around in order to make sure she would start to take care of herself more?

"I'm sorry… I'm always making you all worry-"

"Stop apologizing." I said, not even bothering to loosen the firm tone in my voice.

"Sorry…"

I let out another sigh, turning my head to face the hunter who was standing up behind me, seeking his help. He just shook his head, motioning for me to let it go. Not that she would listen to me if I said anything about her self-pitying state.

"Don't worry about us." Zero's calm voice broke the silence while I felt his hand giving a slight squeeze on my shoulder as if to sooth me. Yuki moved her gaze towards him, her warm smile never falling from her lips before focusing back on me.

"But", the hunter continued with a more serious tone now, "this is what it means to have to stand next to him. You're prepared to confront him, right?"

The girl stared at him seeming at loss of words before she gave him a slow nod. A scoff was heard, coming from behind us and I could only grit my teeth tightly, trying to keep myself from throwing any insult at the vampire that was watching the whole exchange with an amused look on his face. Instead, I grabbed the covers and moved them up a little so that they were reaching her chin while making sure she was warm and covered up completely with the blankets.

"Now is not the time to talk about this." I said loud enough to draw the attention of all the occupants in the room. "You need to get some sleep. I'll wake you up when it's time for dinner."

"But-"

"No 'buts'." I said, giving her a warning look that held no room for objections. She only let out a small sigh before she curled herself again.

"Now." I said as I turned to look at the boys. "Both of you out. She needs to rest-"

"I'm not going. I'm following Kaname-sama's orders, not yours." The vampire exclaimed as he stayed on his place, not even moving a muscle as he stood still while glaring at me. I felt my blood boil but before I could even respond to that, Zero had already grabbed the noble by the neckline of his shirt and was dragging him outside.

"I'll come back later when classes are over." He said, giving me a soft smile which I returned with a thankful of my own.

When the door closed behind them I turned towards the girl only to find her already asleep. I tried to suppress the smile that threatened to appear on my lips but I failed miserably as I shook my head at her. I walked towards her, taking my place on the bed as I laid on the mattress next to her before focusing at the sound of her calm breaths.

"What are you doing?!"

My eyes snapped open as I quickly sat up while looking around to find the source of the voice, my mind still numb from sleep. I felt my body relax as I stared sleepily at the silver-haired boy that was standing right next to us but his attention was drawn towards the door. I followed his hateful glare just as I felt movement beside me as Yuki was awaken too.

"Zero…" Yuki mumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes but from the deathly glare on Aido's eyes that was sent towards the boy I knew that something was not right. I turned to look at him more closel,y trying to push the daze caused form falling asleep away. Realization soon hit me as I noticed that the boy's hair was longer than Zero's and tied at the back of his head. Wait… My eyes to widened and without thinking it twice I grabbed Yuki's wrist and pulled her closer to me.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed at the boy which earned me an annoyed look before he clicked his tongue and moved towards the door. Yet, as he passed Aido, the vampire stretched his arm blocking his exit.

"I'll take whatever is in your hand." I watched closely and slight confused as Ichiru handed him a vial with red liquid inside. He made to leave again but Aido stopped him once more.

"The other one too." He hissed dangerously as he fixed the boy with a hard gaze. Ichiru tensed a little but he obliged to the noble's command, placing his hand inside his school jacket's pocket and pulling out another small vial with what it seemed a similar liquid.

"What is going on?" Yuki asked as she watched worryingly the two of them only to receive a cold look from Aido.

"Such a pampered life. You don't even know what's happening around you two." He then focused back on the silver-haired, his features not softening one bit. "I'll report this to Kaname-sama."

"Do as you wish." Ichiru didn't spare us a glance as he exited the room. Aido gave us only small glance before he too left us alone in the infirmary. I stood there trying to comprehend what had just happened only to feel my sister's eyes on my form. I replaced the troubled look on my face with a slight cheerful one.

"Don't mind with them." I said quickly, seeing the worried look on her face. She just stared at me for a few seconds before nodding and falling back on the mattress. I covered her again with the blankets before laying down too beside her, facing the ceiling.

"Stop thinking and go to sleep. You need it too." I heard her mumble as she moved closer to my form, her eyes already closed as she was dozing off. I just smiled a little before closing my eyes and letting sleep take over me once again.

I stretched my arms above my head as I watched Yuki buttoning her school jacket while giving me a disapproving look as I dropped down on the bed again with a loud groan.

"Do we really have to patrol tonight? I'm really tired." I mumbled, trying to stop the yawn that nearly escaped my lips. My sister only gave a sigh as she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her, forcing me on my feet again.

"Angel, it's our duty. The chairman will be disappointed if-"

"Yeah, yeah. I know." I said as I rubbed my eyes trying to push away the sleepy feeling that was making them close again. A small giggle left the girl's lips while I felt a hand ruffling my hair playfully.

"Get off!" I groaned tiredly as I tried to push away the hand that surprisingly didn't belong to Yuki. I turned around to pout at its owner only to receive a smirk from him as he lowered his hand and wrapped it around my waist, bringing me close to him. When did he get here?

"It's about time you two have woken up. Do you want to eat something?" Zero muttered before he placed a soft kiss on my temple. I perched at that as I titled my head to look at him.

"Are you cooking?" I asked quickly, earning from him an amused look.

"Yes…" I didn't need anything else to be said as I grabbed the hunter's hand and dragged him towards the exit only to be stopped by Aido as he found the right time to enter the room. Great. I gave him an annoyed look but he didn't even spare me a glance as his eyes fixed on Yuki.

"Dorm President Kuran wants to see you. Follow me-"

"Hold it right there!" I exclaimed, not minding the slight tag on my sleeve coming from the silver-haired. "We have only half an hour until we start patrolling and we haven't eaten anything so-"

"Kaname-sama has taken care of that." The noble waved me off before focusing back on Yuki. "So, if you please follow me."

I felt my face fall and gave the noble a look full of desperation and yet he didn't seem to be touched at all by my miserable state. I clicked my tongue as I shared a look with Zero who just stayed silent but it was clear that he would rather throw himself from the balcony than spend time around the pureblood leech. I could only sympathize with him.

"Oh, and one more thing." The noble said casually as he turned to look at me this time. "You're not invited."

"What?!" I exclaimed in anger.

"Kaname-sama's orders." He said simply as he raised an eyebrow, as if daring me to object to his master's wishes. And so I did.

"What-?! What makes him think that I'm actually going to let her be around him alone, unprotected-!"

"Kiryu-kan is allowed to join them."

What?! He was willing to have Zero around than me? Did he want to drive me crazy or something? Of all people he wanted Zero and not me. He couldn't even stand Zero! And he knew how sensitive I was about everything that concerned Yuki! He knew that I would die out of anxiety not knowing if everything is alright! Stupid, perverted leech!

"Fine! " I hissed, filling my blood boil more at the small smirk on the vampire's lips.

"Well, then! If your sister has suppressed her drama queen faze, come with me." He didn't wait any longer as he exited the room quickly. Yuki followed him, exiting the room but not before she sent me a sad and apologizing look. I just shook my head, motioning for her that it was alright. The moment she was out of the door I felt the hunter's eyes on my form, taking in my state carefully.

"Keep an eye on her. Please." I didn't dare to meet his gaze, afraid that he would see the fury burning in my eyes. He didn't say anything as I saw him from the corner of my eye nodding before closing the gap between us. I felt my body relax, realizing for the first time that it had gone rigid, when he wrapped his strong arms around my waist and nuzzling his face on my neck. I let out a shaky breath at the pleasant feeling while wrapping one hand around his shoulders while the other grabbed the front of his jacket in a tight grip.

"I'll see you later, then?" He mumbled against my neck, making me tighten my grip on him. I could only nod in response, not trusting my voice right now. He didn't make a move to step away, not that I minded having him like this especially when he started caressing the sensitive spot of my neck just behind my ear with his lips.

"Zero…" I mewled as he started pushing me back, forcing me to take some steps back until we reached the nearest wall. He pushed me against it, his lips had now moved to the spot where my pulse was beating erratically.

"Zero!" I exclaimed as I unlocked my arms from around him and stopped his wandering ones that had somehow found their way under my shirt. He gave me an annoyed look to which I only rolled my eyes before I continued.

"You have to go now." He narrowed his eyes a bit and parted his lips probably to express his objection only for me to capture them in a quick but firm kiss. I pulled away giving him my most pleading look to which he just clicked his tongue in annoyance before pulling away.

"Whatever." I just smiled mischievously before I placed another peck on his cheek before I started pushing him towards the door.

"Now go! And I promise we'll continue later!" He tilted his head to the side, giving me one of those smirks that frustrated and made me weak on my knees at the same time before he walked out of the door.

"I'll hold you to that."

"So, I got the Zero's shampoo, Yuki's juice…I got that… and that…" I mumbled to myself as I scanned the list carefully, checking if I had forgotten anything. I hummed, pleased that I got everything that we needed. I moved my gaze to the sky noticing that in a few hours it would get dark, meaning that it was time for me to leave. The chairman would be worried if I stayed longer not to mention that I would have to deal with Yuki's scolding for ditching my patrol duties once again. Biting back a small smile I turned on my heels and took the way towards the Academy, all the while looking around and taking in my surroundings until my attention was caught by a certain shop. I stopped in my tracks, contemplating on whether I should take another stop or go back at the Academy. I took another glance towards the sky. Maybe a small stop wouldn't hurt.

I entered the bookstore excitingly, making note to just have a look at the new books and not lose track of time like many other times. I walked between the bookcases, scanning each and every one of the books that were gathered and placed neatly on them, often stopping to take a closer look before moving on. Before I knew it I found myself sitting in a comfortable armchair in a corner, browsing over a thick book about ancient history. I didn't know how long I was sitting there until the book was snatched from my hand, causing me to stare at the intruder. The surprise in my eyes quickly turned into anger as I stood on my feet while having all the unpleasant feeling from earlier at the infirmary take over me.

"What are you doing here?!" I exclaimed only to be shushed by another girl that gave me a hard look before going back to reading her book. I felt my temper rise to its full especially at the emotionless look on the man's face as he leaned against a bookcase behind him.

"Give me that!" I hissed as I tried to take the book back only for him to raise it above his head. I could practically see red right now. "I said give it to me!"

"And what will I get in return?"

"Kaname!" I shouted in frustration only to receive curious and some angry looks from the other people in the store. I felt my cheeks burn partly from anger and partly from embarrassment and the more he stared at me with that uninterested and full of superiority look the more I wanted to rip his head off.

"Shouting in a store full of other people. How uncivilized."

When I'll tear him into pisses, I'll show him how much uncivilized I can be.

"What do you want, Kuran-senpai?" I hissed through gritted teeth, all the while trying to calm myself. He took a quick look at the book in his hand, flipping it a little before closing it again and started walking away. "Hey! Wait-!"

"It's getting dark outside. You shouldn't be out so late."

"The moment I'm interested to sympathize with your worries, I'll have you know." I said with my fakest smile, receiving a deathly glare from the vampire. "Now give me that!" I tried to reach for the book but he once again held it away from me. "How mature of you, you little-"

"Oh, hello! How can I help you?" I nearly jumped out of my skin at the overexcited, squeaky tone that must have belonged to a girl. I turned to look at the sound of the voice only to see that it was one of the workers of the store. I stopped myself form snapping anything to the poor girl since it wasn't her fault that I was on the verge of committing murder.

"We'll have this." Kaname said as he handed her the book. She took it eagerly and I couldn't help but notice the intense blush on her cheeks as she interacted with the pureblood. I rolled my eyes at the typical reaction that I saw on any girl around him until it clicked.

"Wait! What do you mean we?" The vampire let out a sigh as searched the pocket of his jacket. "What do you think you're doing?!" I was nearly shouting now as I saw him giving money to the girl, paying for the book.

"Will you stop squealing? You're making a scene." He said calmly as he took the change from the girl that was now blushing furiously at the soft smile the pureblood sent her way.

"Thank you." He said to her before he turned around and walked towards the door. I stood there for a few seconds, staring at his back in complete shock before running to catch up with him.

"I never believed I would see the day you would chase me. What's next? A confession, perhaps?" Oh, that smirk again. I couldn't hold it any longer and the moment we exited the store and took a few steps away I let it all out.

"Why the hell are you here?! Why aren't you with Yuki?! Why are you-!"

"Here." He said calmly as he raised his hand that was holding the bag with the book. I stared at it for a few seconds not knowing what to do as he caught me by surprise again.

"What…?" I muttered, being in loss at words. A small smile broke into his lips as he took a few steps closer to me, closing the gap between us.

"Consider it a present-"

"I don't want it." I blurted out. "I don't want anything from you." I remained in my spot, gazing at the hurt look in his eyes before I walked around him.

"Angel…"

I clenched the bags tighter in my hands as I tried neither to stop nor steal a glance at him as I continued my way. Who did he think he was? Was he enjoying it? Playing with other people's feelings. Was he drawing satisfaction from messing around with me? Driving me insane? What the hell did he want from me? Why wasn't he leaving me alone once and for all? He had stopped talking to me ever since he got Yuki so why now? Was he bored of her already?

"Angel-"

"Stop following me." I couldn't help but be proud of myself for adding a calm tone in my voice for the first time since meeting him today.

"Just stop for a second."

"Leave me alone, leech!" There goes my calm facade. I turned around to give him my most hateful glare which hardened more at the equal look on his eyes as his features lost their calm expression.

"Is it so difficult to understand?! I don't want you to ever bother me again! Stop following me! Stop talking to me! Nothing! Am I clear?! God!"

I exclaimed as I buried my face in my shaky hands before running them through my hair. I tried to calm the slight shaking of my body as I fixed my gaze on the ground in front of my feet, bringing a hand and placing it on my forehead.

"Are you done?" I bit the side of my cheek at the calm yet sharp tone in his voice. Not daring to meet his gaze, I focused on the bags with the groceries I had carelessly dropped during my outburst. "Good." He muttered, his voice coming out in a tone just above a whisper and before I knew it there was no distance between us once. I raised my head to look at him, ready to snap at him again only to be silenced by his lips on mine.

What…?

I stood there frozen as I felt his lips move gently against my own while his arms wrapped tightly around my waist as if ensuring that I wouldn't escape from his embrace. My mind had gone blank as I felt my body grow numb and yet, he wasn't fazed by my lack of response as he kept going. I didn't know if it was seconds or minutes later that I found the strength to move my hands and place them on his chest before adding pressure in order to push him away. This only lead to his hold tighten even more becoming almost painful. Eventually, my pushes turned into sharp slaps on his chest until I gave up completely, closing my eyes tightly and waiting for it to end. The only problem was that I couldn't focus my mind on other things as the same thought was plaguing my mind over and over again.

His lips were so soft…

After what seemed like ages, he pulled away. My eyes avoided the intense look he was giving me as they focused on the strong fists that my hands had been curled in on his chest. None of us spoke for a few seconds. And what could I say? My mind was having difficulty shorting out even the simplest of words in order to speak or even threaten him, curse him or whatever. Not to mention that I wasn't in any state to do so. My cheeks felt like they were aflamed and even my heartbeat had increased rapidly, especially from the way he stared at me.

Before I knew it, he had leaned in again and was kissing me for the second time, this time his lips being a bit more aggressive than before. I blinked once, twice in shock before I felt my body relax while my hands moved slowly, one resting on his neck and the other snaked its way around his shoulders. My lips soon fell into unison with his, which seemed to excite him more as he parted his, darting his tongue to give a soft lick on mine. I quickly turned my head to face away from him, suddenly aware of what was happening.

Zero

What the hell was I doing?

Kaname let out a deep breath as he titled my chin softly too look at him again. My blush only worsened the moment I met his gaze and from the small smirk he sent me I knew he was totally aware of it. Of course he would be enjoying it. Why wouldn't he?

"That good?"

It was that moment in which I felt my eye twitch that I decided to react. The loud sound of me slapping his cheek with all the strength I could master was the only sound that was heard in the almost empty street. The pureblood took a step back, a hand touching softly his cheek as he kept his gaze on a certain sport on the street. I didn't wait any second longer as I collected my bags again and turned on my heels, heading for the Academy, not daring to glance behind me.

What was I thinking? I should have pushed him away from the beginning! What was I thinking? How could I react so stupidly?! This was wrong! So, it would be best to forget about it! Not ever mention it to anyone! Not even think about it-

"You never react like this unless you're really angry." I gritted my teeth hard at the brag in his tone. "And you hit me very hard. Which means you're furious. The question is with whom are you really?"

You know the answer, you perverted leech. And yet, you won't get satisfaction until you hear me say it. It was me that I was so angry with. I should have reacted… I should have done something! Not just stand there or even worse…

"Admit it, Angel. You liked it."

"Shut it, Kuran. I'm in a hurry." I hissed only to exclaim in surprise as I was pulled harshly back towards him, his lips capturing mine. I shoved him away from me, raising my hand to hit him again only for him to catch it in mid-air. "Let go!"

"We're away from the Academy." He stated calmly and yet, his serious expression only sent shivers down my spine. I gave him a confused look despite my frustration.

"What-?"

"No one has to know what has happened between us and I intend to keep it that way." The look of shock on my face was soon replaced by one of suspicion as I narrowed my eyes at him.

"And you would do that because…" His features quickly softened as the usual smirk and the air of superiority returned.

"Admit it." I rolled my eyes at him. I was not in the mood to play one of his childish games. I made to release my hand from his hold but he wouldn't let me to have it so easy. I fixed him with a hard look, thinking of all the colorful words I knew and which I really wanted to use or at least some of them. But then again I really wanted all this to be over. And more importantly, the whole situation to be left behind us. The problem was would he keep his word? What if he said something to Yuki or Zero…? I just had to take my risks apparently.

"I'm waiting-"

"Fine!" I exclaimed loudly. I paused for a moment, fidgeting in my place as I struggled to utter the words but finding impossible to do so when he was smiling down at me in amusement. "I… I…" I let out a deep breath as I muttered something incoherent.

"I'm sorry. I didn't catch that." My eyes narrowed more.

"I said I liked it!" How more embarrassing could this situation become? And to have to witness that smirk of his and the look of full satisfaction was the cherry of this evening. Oh, great. Now he looked like was ready to laugh at my face. I finally released my hand, bringing it against my chest as I rubbed it soothingly despite the fact that he didn't hurt me at all. Shame I couldn't say the same about my wounded pride.

"You're finally letting out your feelings to be shown in the world." He muttered as he brought his lips on my temple, pecking it softly. "Well done, my angel." The soft whisper only worsened the knot in my stomach. "Now." He continued as he bent to gather my bags that layed forgotten on the ground. "We must head back. The chairman will be worried."

I didn't say anything as I followed him closely behind, never taking my eyes from my feet.
