Disclaimer: I don't own the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Author's note: Whoo first Slash fic! In all honesty while I was writing this chapter I was listening to Agony from Into the Woods sang by Chris Pine and Billy Magnussen on repeat. I am like super obsessed with that song right now, well that and the last midnight sang by Merly Streep. Anyway, so as I've said that I am working on a collab with another author on DeviantArt, well Ch1&2 are up. For Quotev I'll leave a link, sorry FanFiction but whenever I try putting a link on here it hardly works (though I can't recall a time it did). But it's called New life and Chapter 1 was written by sxilxi1231 and I wrote Chapter 2, oh and it's a Raph x Reader. So that's all I have to say for now and hope you enjoy this chapter!
Spike/Slash x Reader (2012)
The lair was warm and silent, it had been a few hours since the turtles had gone on a training exercise. The long endured silence was broken by the soft patter of footsteps making there way into the home of the ninja who resided here, the sound of a soft voice singing a lighthearted air as she made her way inside, ever cautious of the booby traps left by the young and messy resident, Michelangelo. Setting down her bag near the couch her lips formed a soft smile as her ever warm (e/c) eyes fell upon the small companion of her hot headed friend, Raphael. "A good afternoon to you," she smiled gently petting his head with the tip of her index and middle fingers. He slowly lifted his head to look up at her, cheerfully squinting as she rubbed under his chin. "Everyone is out for tonight huh?" She asked watching the small turtle return to eating his leaf. Not like she expected for him to ever to talk back, much like his owner she'd gab to him about her day and pose silly little questions, watching him closely for a sign of a response or understanding. The hours would pass as she worked on homework, practice her katas, sit by the small pet twirling a lock of her soft, sweet smelling, (h/l), (h/c) hair while she chatted to the silent company or on a special night, when the mood had really taken her, she'd sing a soft song and sometimes she'd gently lift little spike up and slowly waltz with him. These were the moments he cherished with this human friend of the turtles, slowly twirling while she sang to only him and setting him down with a cute curtsy. But as fate would have it, they had grown less and less frequent as the danger above grew.
There had even been one night that the turtles had gone and alone sat Spike waiting for the sweet girl to arrive but she never did. The hours slowly ticked by as he would munch on his leaf, walk about for a bit or rest beneath the small lamp that Raph had left on for him. A terrible feeling washed over him as the sweet sound only her voice could produce went unsung, the echo of her light footsteps hadn't bounced off the concrete, her bright smile hadn't lit up the dim lair and it scared him. Was she hurt or angry? Did she grow bored of the tiny pet? The thought that she'd ditched him made him unbearably sad, sure he has Raph but he's not around as much anymore and the hot head doesn't hold the same warm and delightful charm that his human friend did. Curling up beneath his little lamp he rest, moping from the loneliness of the night and his thoughts of abandonment. He must have dozed off at some point because he couldn't recall what time it was when he was startled by the sound of panicked voices entered the lair. Standing up he watched as the brothers shuffled across the room, crowding his owner who seemed to be carrying something. He must have been in deep thought or something because he hadn't noticed the skateboard lying on the floor right in front of him, losing his footing as the board slipped from under him he fell forward but quickly turned so he landed on his carapace, tightly embracing what was in his arms. "Mikey you need to stop leaving your damn board laying around!" Raph snapped at his younger brother before glancing down to make sure his cargo had gone unharmed. That is when Spike had seen her, resting in his arms unconscious.
That night was the start of his hatred of the Kraang, Raphael had vented to the small turtle as he paced his room while Donnie tended to (Y/n)'s wounds. "She shouldn't have been out there alone!" Raph growled as he punched the locker in his room, his hand stung a little from the out burst but he could only think about how much pain she must be in from trying to fend off those Kraang. Spike watched his owner, a wave of guilt washing over him for allowing himself to believe that (Y/n) would be so cruel to just grow bored of him, here he sat dwelling on such an impossibility while she'd been hurt, probably on the way over in fact. It was hard for him or Raph to get any sleep that night, both being relieved that she'd woken sometime the next morning. Her usually rosy cheeks were a bit pale, a few smudges of dirty being a bit of the only color upon them, a small nick above her right brow caught the pet's attention though it wasn't enough to leave a scar it looked like it must have hurt and her left arm was bandaged up. "I told you I'm okay," she argued with Raph a bit of blush dusting her cheeks. "You were out for hours. What were you thinking?" He snapped at her. "It's just a few bruises and cuts. Besides I had no choice, they all came out of no where!" She barked back balling her fist. The two of them argued a bit before Raph stormed out to blow off some steam in the dojo. Watching him leave with a scowl and her arms folded across her chest she shook her head. "How do you put up with him?" she asked turning to Spike. Setting him down in her lap she smiled as she gently pet him, the sweet melody dancing through the air as she relaxed back in the "bed" they made.
~ Time skip and to second person p.o.v ~
It had been a long time since he had seen those (e/c) eyes or heard that wonderful voice. And of course the first time he had come face to face with you again, he'd been under the control of Shredder and attacked Master Splinter. He'd just gotten back into a hopefully good standing with the turtles and he'd attacked their father, all of your sensei. Against his will but nonetheless, the look on all of your faces, the shock in those wide fearful eyes as you watched the ninja master tumble to the ground. The disbelief and ache that crossed your features as you drew your weapon. The chaos that ensued while you all tried to protect your master and subdue him and Rockwell. Knocking the brothers down he turned to block as you lunged at him, instead he simply caught you in mid air, holding you by the throat watching as you squirmed to free yourself from his grasp. Your tiny in comparison hands clutching at his thick wrist, desperately trying to wriggle free as you gasped for any air you could take in, though he desperately wanted to release you he felt his hand tighten around your neck. The image of seeing you that night when the guys had brought you down to the lair after you'd been attacked by the Kraang flashed before his eyes, now in his grasp you were begging to pale, the fight you were putting up dwindled as your eyes fluttered and began to roll back. No. "Slash let her go!" Leo yelled as he and Raph rushed him. Dropping you to engage the two he roared blocking Leo's blades and barely avoiding Raph's sais. Falling to the ground you coughed, gasping for air. The impending question of "Why?" rolled off your tongue. "It is the will of the Master" Rockwell answered.
None of you could believe what you were hearing. Your (e/c) hues widened as Slash brought down Leo and Raph again. Slash had said something but your ears were ringing as you regained your bearings, fighting to stand up you tried to steady your breathing and prepare to defend your friends, no matter the cost. "I volunteer, and I'll kick his butt right after I'm done with the two of you." Raph said untangling himself from a pile of stuff that Rockwell used as projectiles. Of course this would end up in the hot head biting off more he could chew, it wasn't long before he'd been captured. "Raph!" You called out stumbling toward the two mutanimals. "Rockwell, we got what came for. Let's move!" Slash called running toward Donnie's lab. "Sensei, Donnie and I will stay with you." Mikey said placing a three fingered hand on his shoulder. "No! I will survive. You must save your brother." He told them. Nodding they reluctantly followed the others. "(Y/n), you need to stay here." Leo said stopping you from following. "B-but they have Raph!" You strained to say, it hurt to breath and your sure it showed. "It's too dangerous. You and Sensei have been hurt. I won't forgive myself if you were hurt any further. Besides someone needs to help Splinter. We'll get him back, you help Sensei." Leo sternly instructed before running into the lab. The sound of the party wagon tearing out of the garage caused your heart to sink, the sound of the shellrazor starting up and chasing after the other vehicle made a knot form in your stomach. "Please.. be careful." You muttered. In all honesty you couldn't believe that Spike tried to destroy the turtles once, now you were unfortunate enough to see it with your own eyes.
~ Time skip to after the battle with Shredder and everyone comes home ~
"Master Splinter, I'm sorry. While I was under the Shredder's control, I could see what I was doing but couldn't doing anything about it. Please, forgive me." Slash apologized bowing his head after handing Splinter a cup of soup. "Your actions were not your own, there is nothing to forgive." Splinter replied with a sympathetic smile and placed a paw on his shoulder. After some conversation and apologizing once more, though both Rockwell and Slash knew simple words wouldn't mend the damage they'd done, the mutanimals left the lair. While on the trek back to their hide out Slash broke from the group, giving the excuse that he needed some time alone to think and went off on his own. Taking a detour that would let him pass by your apartment, stopping on a rooftop and looking to your darkened window he felt an ache strike his chest. He'd passed by here a few times, both while he was partnered with the Newtralizer and during the time the Kraang ruled New York city. He'd never heard that soft melody you used to sing, even when you were taking a breather and sitting out on the fire escape. The dark silence he was face with then and now reminds him of that night, the first time he'd ever seen you hurt. Now you were hurt and he was the cause of it, balling his fist he pounded his fist onto the roof he was standing on. "Damn the Shredder, I'll make him pay!" He growled quickly calming down as he breathed heavily. Suddenly a familiar tune caught his attention, turning back to your window now with light pouring out onto the fire escape, you sat on your windowsill trying to match the soft notes emanating from somewhere in your room but you couldn't.
It was clearly painful for to try and sing yet here you were. He hadn't noticed that he was making his way over until he jumped down to the street below, looking to the ladder he contemplated whether or not he could face you ever again. Deciding he had to try and apologize he made his way up, the strained sound of your voice struggling to hold the tune so dear to you filling his ears and only adding to the guilt that was already gripping him. Finally reaching your level he remained in the shadows, cursing himself for suddenly becoming so afraid and freezing up. You were so close yet so far, he could easily reach out and touch you, but would you let him? The monster who'd just... caused you pain and panic. How could you? Your (e/c) gaze looked longingly out into the night sky, your soft (h/l) (h/c) tresses hugged your sweet face and as his eyes traveled over to admire your beauty they stopped once they reached the bruising around your neck. Thick purple spots tightly wrapped around your throat, the warm blush still hadn't returned to your cheeks and then he noticed it, your breathing. It seemed it was hard for you to take in air, were you still in pain? Closing her eyes you drew a shaky breath before speaking, "I know... you're there." You softly spoke. His eyes widened and his throat tightened. "Silent... like I remember." she said with a soft smile. "I uh... wanted to say I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you but I couldn't... stop myself." He spoke up bowing his head shamefully. "It's alright, Donnie told me everything. Er well he sent it in a text," you shrugged. You seemed painfully distant, not that he'd blame you.
Slowly he stepped into the light, avoiding eye contact and trying to not stare at your neck. Silence had fallen over the two of you, aside from the occasional car passing by on the near desolate street and the loud television of one of your neighbors. There was so much he wanted to say, yet he couldn't manage to find his voice, it truly hurt him to hear you so quiet especially when just about every memory he has of you, you were either talking, laughing or singing that sweet song, but he knew and understood why you weren't now. After the whole night you've been through and all. "You know... I've really missed you, Spiky." You broke the silence with a soft smile. He was shocked and uncertain if he heard you right. "No one was quite the dance partner like you or enjoyed my secret song like you did." You added looking over to the silent turtle. The weight of your stare made his knees go weak, as he stepped toward you he fell to them, kneeling before you and laying his head in your lap. You didn't react the way he expected, you didn't pull away or scold him, no. Instead you traced your two fingertips over his head, gently petting him and humming your lighthearted air. The feeling that nothing has changed, lifted a bit of guilt from his heart. He let out a soft chur as you continued to pet him, nuzzling into you he felt something inside him grow. The feeling confused him, it wasn't like anything he'd ever felt. Looking up into your calm expression as you took soft and steady breaths. You lips looked so soft, plump and enticing right now. His heart beat sped up as he found himself rising toward them, his rough maw hovering so close to you. Slowly you opened your eyes, (e/c) boring right into his, he felt his cheeks heat up and before he could say anything you smiled. "I forgive you," you said before closing the distance between you.
