About an hour passed and we were moved to a new room in the maternity ward, Breena was giving our baby girl her first meal, so was learning how to breast feed, luckily her mid wife was still there so it made it alot easier for all of us. I was heading out with Ducky to tell the rest of our family that we had a baby girl and that they could come in and see her in a short while. When we entered the waiting room everyone looked up and Ziva and Tony just made it back through the doors on time for me to announce
"We have a beautiful baby girl, she is 5lbs 7ozs and currently having her first meal. The nurses have told us that we can have visitors shortly and that a maximum amount of three people can come in at a time" they all nodded and smiled
"Congratulations" the others erupted before Abby asked
"Do you have a name for her yet?" and I smiled nodding my head,
"Her name is Veronica Deliah Palmer, named after her great grandmothers who are not around to meet her" and they all smiled.
"That is adorable" Ziva gushed and I smiled at her, with Ziva's pregnancy we were seeing a side of Ziva that none of us had seen before, well Tony had as they were both looking after Sky but the rest of us hadn't.

I was just about to return to my wives side when my phone rang and it was the young girl who was letting us adopt her baby.
"Jimmy, I think my water just broke" she screamed down the phone
"Where are you, Fiona?" I asked and she grunted
"I'm at home alone, my mother and father went to work so I have no way of getting to the hospital" she said down the phone
"I'm at the hospital now, Breena just had our baby three weeks early but maybe I could get someone to pick you up and bring you here?" I suggested and again she grunted,
"You better hurry Jimmy, I don't know how much longer I can suffer through the pain" she told me. I turned around and hung up asking my friends a huge favour
"The girl we are adopting our baby off has just gone into abour, her parents are at work and I need someone to get her and bring her here" I said rushing through what I had just said, Gibbs stood up and headed for the exit, I shouted the address to him and he was gone.

-Gibbs Point of View-

I was speeding away from the hospital toward Fiona's house, we had al heard about Fiona. Jim was always raving about her and how lovely she was, so I felt like I knew her. As I knocked at the door to her house I called out
"Fiona, its me Gibbs. Jimmy Palmer sent me to bring you to the hospital" I told her and she sighed before yelling out in pain, I kicked down the door. I had been around a couple of females during labour and she sounded like she was nearer to the birth than Jimmy she thought. I found her in the lounge, she was making her way to my side when she collapsed to the floor in pain, screaming through the pain. She was getting paler with every second and it wasn't fair on her. I grabbed my cellphone out and called an ambulance she was going to need one. I tried to calm her and get her through the whole thing but her contractions were getting closer together and she was screaming bloody murder with every new contraction. The paramedics said they would be there in five minutes, and I told them, I didn't know if she would last those five minutes or for the birth of her child, she was suffering imense pain and she was as white as a ghost. This made them speed up and I could hear the sirens about a minute later outside the house. Next thing I knew they were at my side helping Fiona bring her baby into the world.

However Fiona passed away whilst giving birth, so the paramedics rushed to help birth the baby and keep her alive whilst they one of the paramedics tried their hardest to bring her back, by resussitating her but nothing was working, I watched as the light left her eyes and heard when the screams came from the wailing baby. Something told me that this baby was a fighter and would continue to fight through out their life. I followed behind the ambulance after the paramedics had declared Fiona as dead, and had put her in a body bag. I made my way up to the maternity ward following after the young girl as the paramedics handed her over to the maternity ward staff. I found Jimmy in the waiting room with Veronica in his arms and I ushered for him to give her to someone for a little bit. He handed her to McGee and followed me over to the side of the waiting room.
"What is it?" he asked and I looked at him sadly
"Fiona didn't make it through the birth something about the babies umbilical being torn and the fluids mixing with hers and poisoning her. However your baby is absoluetly fine, healthy and safe, they've taken her away to do some tests though just to double check that she is. I will get McGee to notify her parents when they get home from work" I told him and he looked at me terrified
"The day that should've been one of the greatest days of her life turned into a tradgedy. I'm glad we've adopted her now, she will be safe with us" he said trying to keep up his normal cheeriness.
"Its alright to cry, Jimmy. She was someone who had a lot of potential and she's gone to soon, anyone who's life who was cut short whilst giving birth deserves to be remembered" I told him with a smile and a reassuring hand on his shoulder. He nodded and cried a little before pulling himself together before he thanked me and made his way back toward Veronica and made his way back to Breena's side.

Sky was becoming a little restless given how long they had been here and she was probably starting to get hungry, but I picked her up off the floor where she sat and tickled her as Ziva and Tony watched greatful that I was there. Ziva looked like she could do with a good nights sleep as she rested her head against Tony's shoulder and Tony looked as though he wanted nothing more than to be at home in his bed watching his fiance. I smiled and listened to the loud giggles coming from Sky as I continued to tickle her.
"Papa pwease! Stop stop" she said in between her giggles when I finally did stopshe wrapped her little arms around my neck and clung tightly. Her head resting in the crook of my neck and her fingers were fiddling with the collar on my shirt. I whispered into her ear
"Are you tired Miss Sky?" she nodded her head and I smiled kissing the top of her head. Interacting with Sky reminded me of Kelly at this age, however at one and a half she wasn't as literate as Sky seemed to be, I think it was because she was mainly always around her mum and never around whole massess of people apart from on special occassions. Where as Sky was always around large groups of people, she had that influence of being around older people, but when it came time for her to be put into school and pre school she was going to either find it very difficult or she would find it a breeze. But with the way she had been holding little Veronica with her parents watchful eyes on her and her fathers hands suppourting her, she was proving to fall into the latter.

At seven thirty Ziva stood and so did Tony, I had taken Sky over to the play area that was in the waiting area and sat with her as she played with the toys. I smiled at her as she played with the toys and then when Ziva and Tony were standing right behind me I called out to her
"Sky, baby mummy and daddy want to go home. Maybe since you've been such a good girl they might buy you some McDonalds on the way home" I suggested, looking up I saw the smirk that was on Ziva's face and the appalled look that was on Tony's face and heard the groan that escaped his lips. I chucked to myself as she hugged me and threw herr arms around my neck, placing a big soppy kiss against my cheek
"Love ew papa" she said as I hugged her closely
"Love you too Sky" I said kissing the top of her head. Tony and Ziva took her over to the others to hug goodbye and she did, hugging McGee and Abby for the longest time, before Tony and Ziva finally managed to drag her away. In her dads arms she waved to us all over his shoulder and we all smiled waving back at her.

-Tonys Point of View-

We ordered McDonalds and had it take away, so that as soon as Sky was finished we could put her to bed after her bath. We sat at the table eating and then once I was finished and Sky was done as well I picked her up and took her into the bathroom. She stood there as I filled the bath tub full of bubbles and warm water, before I helped her out of her clothes and she sat herself on the potty, I gasped, I hadn't seen her do this before, wasn't she a little young to be toliet trained. Ziva walked in and with a worried expression on her face asked
"What's wrong?" I looked at her and then back at Sky and then back at Ziva before asking
"How long has she been sitting on the potty to go to the bathroom?" Ziva laughed at me
"About four days, with the way she's going Tony she'll only be needing nappies at night time, I'm sure we can start putting her in push ups" she said and I laughed a little at her mistake, the confused look on her face made me explain what she had said
"You mean pull ups, sweet cheeks, push ups are a type of bra, that pushes cerrtain things up" I said remembering that there were young ears in the room, at this she nodded in understanding.

After bath time I took Sky out to the lounge for Sky to have her good night hug with her mum and then I took her to bed, kissing the top of her head and then hugging her goodnight.
"Night baby girl" I said as her eye lids closed. I kissed her forehead and then sat watching her as she drifted off into a more peaceful sleep.
"Its going to be different in the next couple of months isn't it?" Ziva whispered from the door way and I turned to her and nodded my head before answering
"It is indeed" grabbing Ziva's hand we made our way to our bedroom and collapsed onto the bed not even bothering to get changed, with Ziva curled up in my arms we fell asleep in a peaceful slumber.
