"Ooh, I hate this thing." Lilly smacked the scanner against the palm of her hand, scowling. Callum plucked it from her grasp and examined it. Theo peered curiously over his brother's shoulder. The little machine was going haywire, flecks of interference dancing across the screen and jamming their signal. The tracker in the handle of Sage's knife had popped back up after three days of absence. With a little luck, Alvie would be with her. Four of the seven Jackson children had gone missing in the last month alone. The triplets couldn't go anywhere without their parents.

Percy took the scanner from his son and frowned at it. There was a fizz and sparks shot from it. Percy dropped it, startled, and the screen shattered. He cursed in Ancient Greek, turning to his wife.

"Where was the tracker last?"

"This street." Theo sighed. "It started going mad just as we went around the corner."

"Yes, it would have." The five of them whirled round, weapons springing to their hands.

"Boys!" Annabeth beamed.

"No." Tobias smirked. "Not so much." Alvie stood between his two older brothers, arms folded. Tobias held Ice and Max had his axes, a third in his belt. They were dressed identically, black long sleeve shirts under white T-shirts and jeans. Alvie alone was unarmed.

"What-?" Annabeth's smile faltered. Percy shifted his grip on Riptide anxiously, stepping forward. Alvie reacted faster than anyone could have anticipated, jade light sparking from his fingertips. It struck Percy square in the chest and Tobias laughed happily. He lunged forward, parried Percy's feeble sword strike and disarmed him.

"You don't look so good, old man." Tobias taunted, digging the tip of Ice into Percy's throat. His father had gone a funny grey colour, grimacing.

Annabeth kicked up Riptide and swung at Tobias. He dodged in the nick of time.

"Lilly, stay with your father!" Annabeth ordered. Riptide was a bit heavy for her, but that didn't stop her from proving herself to be a challenge to Tobias. Lilly reached her father's side just as he stumbled.

"It's alright, Dad, I've got you. Guys, what was that?"

"I don't know, but you know Dad's meant to be taking it easy."

"I'm fine..." Percy croaked. Theo and Callum helped him sit. He certainly didn't look fine, grey and turning green. Lilly tried to give him nectar. He refused it. "Save it..." He insisted, covering her hand with his own.

"But, Dad-"

"Theo!" Max had appeared from no-where, colliding with his younger brother and pinning him to the floor. Callum run forward to help as Max bit into Theo's shoulder. "Get off him!" Callum raged, all for tackling his older brother. Max's eyes found his, glinting victoriously as he drained Theo's blood. Alvie materialized, faster than Max had, and smacked Callum back. Percy tried to get up, groaning as agony erupted in his chest.

"Dad, s-stay put. I'll-"

"You'll what, Lilly?" Alvie teased. "You've never been very good at any of this."

"Why are you doing this?" Lilly demanded, drawing her knife. Alvie bared down on her. "Stop this." She had meant to sound braver, firmer, than that. Alvie laughed at the scared tremor in her tone, flicking his fingers. Her knife zoomed from her hand and narrowly missed skewering Annabeth. Athena's daughter was still locked in vicious combat with her eldest son, intent on slicing each other to bits. Tobias was no longer laughing.

"There's been a change in management." A snarl caught Alvie's attention and he turned, more amused than worried. Callum had finally managed to pull Max away from Theo. They were fighting now, vampire VS werewolf.

"No!" Lilly cried. She hit out at Alvie. He lazily caught her by the wrist, easily catching her other hand too. "No!" She said again. "Stop it, stop it!"

"Sage had said the same thing."

"Sage...? Where is she? Where's my sister?"

"With whichever monster we locked her in with."

"No!" Lilly sobbed. She kicked at Alvie's shins; he simply stepped back and held her arm's length, laughing. "She's your sister!" She screamed. "We're your family!"

"Not for much longer." His hands shot out and caught hold of her face. He would have snapped her neck had their father not shoulder-slammed him away.

Percy looked dead on his feet, swaying on the spot and greener than before. Alvie pushed himself up, examining a graze on the palm of his hand. "I should have seen that coming." He muttered. He was quiet for a moment. "Ah." He decided. "Alvie. The little menace, I should have destroyed him when I had the chance." Lilly and Percy shared a quick glance- that confirmed it- this was definitely not Alvie.

"Who are you?" Lilly asked, clenching her fists. Her voice wavered, but she didn't avert her gaze.

"Oh, you wouldn't know me. You were only little when it happened." Alvie's eyes slid to Percy. "Not much longer." He mused. He raised his hand and opened his mouth. A shadow fell over him and Max staggered past. He was bleeding from multiple wounds all over, fangs extended as he snarled.

Percy pulled Lilly back as another shadow thundered past. Lilly clutched her father's hand- Callum had changed! It wasn't full moon and there he was in full werewolf mode.

"Get to Theo." Percy hissed in her ear.

Theo was unconscious, his breathing shallow and skin pale. Lilly tipped nectar into his mouth, breathing his name. "Theo, wake up." She pleaded. He stirred feebly. She risked a little more nectar and stopped as he became feverish. She risked a glance towards her mother; Annabeth was just as battered as Max, but she was still fighting. Tobias had quite a few injuries of his own too, as unrelenting as his mother. Werewolf and vampire were trying to tear each other to shreds, biting and clawing and going for the jugular. Both had the supernatural strength of their own kind, tearing at limbs and throats.

"Lilly..."

"Theo!" She breathed a sigh of relief. He was still pale, but at least he was awake. He stared around at everything in confusion.

"Is that... Callum?"

"Yeah."

"How?"

"I don't know." She pulled him to his feet, his arm about her shoulders. Percy was dodging Alvie's attacks, Max ducked a swipe and launched himself at the wolf. Callum yelped and then he was himself again. Max bared his fangs- they all knew he wouldn't bite a werewolf- he drew a knife instead and pressed it to Callum's throat.

"No." Alvie instructed. He sent a final attack towards Percy, who ducked behind a car. "We could use him."

"Werewolf." Max growled.

"I know." Alvie crouched and rested his hand on Callum's forehead. "Much less resistant than vampires." Max settled down, looking smug. Callum cried out in pain and buckled. "Sssh." Alvie said, putting a finger to his lips. Callum squirmed and then stilled. "There we go. Max, let him up."

"Werewolf."

"He's on our side now. Tobias! Finish that!" Tobias nodded, parried a strike and swiped at his mother's stomach. Annabeth gasped, stumbling back. Percy staggered out to help her. Tobias disarmed his mother and kicked her back with an uncharacteristic strength. Annabeth flew into Percy and they both hit the ground. "Callum, change." Alvie ordered. Callum snarled. Alvie pointed at Lilly and Theo and their brother ran at them. About halfway he became his alternate form. Max grumbled his protests. "Don't worry, you can have one too." With a wave of his hand, Alvie sent Max out too.

Theo pushed Lilly back.

"Go!" He pulled a knife from his pocket.

"No!" Lilly argued. She had no weapon. Not that a knife would be any good against a werewolf and a vampire, but it would have made her feel a little better.

Callum leapt into the air, slamming into Theo's chest. The blade skittered across the tarmac, disappearing under a car.

"Don't bite him." Alvie warned. Max jumped over the wolf and ran at Lilly, grinning. Lilly turned and sprinted off. She would never outrun a vampire and she knew that. Max caught up in a second, grabbing her by the scruff of her shirt. She screamed and kicked at him. He chortled happily, taking hold of her chin and tilting her head to the side, exposing her neck. "Yes, you can bite her."

"No!" A voice cried. Four arrows whistled down. Three met their mark, sending fresh bolts of lightning through the werewolf, the vampire and Tobias. They crumpled instantly, releasing their victims. The fourth arrow would have hit home, but Alvie faded. The arrow passed right through him and he solidified. His forces had been wiped out and, try as he might, he couldn't get his brothers going again. They were unconscious and would be for a few hours.

He turned and looked up, spying a lone figure atop the roofs. They leapt down fearlessly, freefalling to the third floor. A fire hydrant exploded and water channeled itself into a smooth path to the ground. Louisa nocked another arrow and aimed at her nephew. "What are ya doin'?" She yelled.

"I'm destroying my family from the inside out. What does it look like?"
