Jimmy would give anything for the day just to be over. Breena's funeral hadn't even started yet and it was already unbearable. The preacher had given the family a few private moments with Breena before the service started. When he went for his final private moments with Breena. He had found Ed holding onto the casket crying like a baby. Of course when Jimmy came in he pulled himself together or tried to anyway. Right now Jimmy was alone in the sanctuary eyes fixed on his wife's body. In some sick and selfish way he hated her for dying. After a while people started filing in, he ended up sitting between Ed and Ducky in the row reserved for family. Jimmy was relieved Ed didn't make any remarks about Ducky sitting with the family.
"Are you alright Mr. Palmer?" Ducky asked.
"I have to give Breena's eulogy." Jimmy whispered.
"I know I helped you write it." Ducky replied.
"No I don't know if I can do it." Jimmy confessed.
"I'll tell you what I will come up with you and if you cannot do it. You can simply stand behind me and I will read it for you." Ducky offered.
"You would do that?" Jimmy asked.
"Why of course." Ducky replied.
"Thank you so much Doctor Mallard that will really help." Jimmy replied.
Tony and Gibbs were driving home from Breena's funeral. Gibbs noticed that Tony had remained uncharacteristically quiet, even after they left the church. In fact the only words he recalled hearing Tony say all day were: "Let's go Boss, Ziva's staying home with Sadie.", "I am so sorry Jimmy", and "That was rough.". Come to think of it Tony had been off ever since he broke the news that Breena was dead. He could feel that something was wrong with his SFA. Breena's death was tragic and untimely but Tony wasn't even this bad when Kate died and that loss was much closer to him than Breena. Finally he couldn't take anymore of the silence and heart-broken aurora that hung over his son.
"What's wrong?" Gibbs asked.
"I guess I won't be coming back to your team." Tony admitted.
"Why the hell not?" Gibbs questioned.
"Well McGee hates me." Tony started.
"Yeah so?" Gibbs asked.
"Well you can't have two agents who don't get along and McGee is clearly the better agent. I will talk to Vance about a transfer in the morning." Tony explained.
"First of all I talked some sense into McGee earlier. I told him if he didn't listen I would throw him off my team. That got him to shut-up and he gets that Jimmy did not just let Breena die. He spared her from a lifetime of indignity and suffering." Gibbs explained.
"Of course you did because he actually respects you." Tony scoffed.
"When he gets back I am going to make it clear that he had better treat you with the same respect he gives me because you are his superior." Gibbs replied.
"He's still the better agent." Tony sighed.
"Like hell he is! If it weren't for you McGee would be a green over-grown Probie." Gibbs corrected.
After the funeral Gibbs went down to his basement as usual. While Tony went to spend some quality time with his girls. Ziva still wasn't feeling well but Sadie was bursting to spend some time with her daddy. They had barely had any father/daughter time since he got sick. So he decided it would be fun to take her to the park. He managed to get her to use the potty before they left but still put her in a pull-up and packed several extras and a change of pants just in case. When they arrived at the park Sadie made a bee-line for the swings. He helped her climb on and started pushing her. Hearing her innocent laugh made him smile. Breena's death had torn him up way more than it should have. McGee not listening to him and hating Jimmy, Sadie struggling to grasp death, and hardest of all the crushing guilt he felt over Breena's death. No matter what anybody said he knew that it was his fault that she was gone. After a while Sadie looked up at him.
"What is it Sadie? Do you need to use the bathroom? Are you ready to go?" Tony asked.
"No" Sadie replied.
"Then what is it?" Tony asked.
"Why are you sad?" Sadie asked.
"I just miss your Aunt Breena that's all." Tony replied.
"Me too." Sadie replied.
"She loved you so much." Tony replied voice cracking.
Gibbs was down in his basement. When he heard the front door open and close followed shortly after by somebody coming down the basement steps. At first he thought it was just Tony coming back from the park with Sadie. Instead he looked up to see Jimmy looking down at him from the landing.
"How you doing kid?" Gibbs asked.
"Just wanting to wake up and find Breena beside me." Jimmy replied.
"Jeez kid I am so sorry." Gibbs apologized.
"Thanks Gibbs I uh can I uh can I talk to you." Jimmy stammered.
"Of course you can kid." Gibbs replied.
"Great because I uh got some news the other day. Uh after Breena died." Jimmy stuttered.
"Good or bad?" Gibbs asked.
"Just weird." Jimmy admitted.
That night after Tony put Sadie to bed he went and curled up beside Ziva. She had barely gotten out of bed all day. He was starting to worry about her. What if something was wrong? Like bad wrong. Suddenly she bolted up in bed and grabbed her stomach. Tony reached over to her side of the bed. Their was something dark on the sheets. By now Ziva was screaming in pain. He jumped up, ran over, and flipped the light on. His eyes fell on the bed. Ziva was writing in pain and the sheets were getting soaked with blood.
"No Ziva" Tony begged.
"Tony!" Ziva cried.
"It's going to be OK Z, I am going to take you to the hospital." Tony whispered.
A/N: Will Ziva lose this baby or will Tony get her help in time? What is the news that Jimmy got? New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
