A/N: You might wanna prepare a box of tissue…just in case. :3

Everything was doing great for a while but all hell broke loose when Kurt's pregnancy reached its twenty-four week mark. It turned out to be as bad as everyone had expected it to be. Kurt was in constant pain and it hurt for anyone to see especially Blaine because there was nothing he could do to help easing Kurt's agony. Dr. Michelle Bohl had given a few meds for Kurt to make the pain at least bearable but Kurt's body rejected all the remedies. It was clear that if the baby didn't approve any of it, there wasn't really a choice anymore.

Despite everything, Kurt's food cravings were over the top. He couldn't stop eating and Blaine had never complained but complied instead, fulfilling everything that Kurt desired. It should be something calming whenever pregnant people consume a lot of food because they were eating for two and sometimes more than that but it truly wasn't remotely comforting in Kurt's case because no matter how much food he ate, Kurt continued to look sicker and sicker as the pregnancy progressed. All of the extra weight he had been gaining for the first few months of his pregnancy was instantly gone, leaving him skinnier than ever.

The baby literally ate everything on Kurt's behalf.

Kurt didn't look like Kurt anymore and Blaine was losing his mind.

And all of it would only be over after the baby was born.

"Blaine…" Kurt whimpered weakly from the bed.

"I'm here, baby. I'm right here." Blaine soothed as he carefully flopped onto the bed. He spooned Kurt from behind and draped his arms around the blue eyed man into an embrace. His huge, callous hands rested on Kurt's burgeoning belly.

"It hurts…" Kurt whimpered again, clutching Blaine's hand tight. He was no longer the man he used to be. His skin care regime was long forgotten ever since his state worsened. The hollow of his cheeks was clearly visible and there were also dark circles under his eyes. Even though he spent most of his days and nights in bed, Kurt seemed to hardly get any rest at all.

"I know, honey." Blaine kissed Kurt's head as an assurance. He wanted to do more than just hold Kurt until the worst pain subsided.

The baby was getting stronger and greedy and it was depressing…not getting to do anything to help the person you loved while they were in pain. Before they were doing just fine with two blood bags per day for both Blaine and Kurt, now they needed nearly five bags for Kurt alone. Blaine had learned to make do and he frankly didn't mind with the inadequate amount of blood he was receiving as long as Kurt would be okay. And neither of them had been sleeping properly for the past few weeks due to Kurt's sudden deteriorating condition.

It all started when Kurt suddenly awoke in the middle of the night, gasping. At first Blaine thought it was just a nightmare but his assumption was wrong when Kurt shivered, seeming almost like convulsing. Their blood stock for the entire week was finished that night. The very next morning Kurt's body had marred with angry, dark, raw bruises. They brought the matter to Dr. Bohl and she immediately did numerous tests on Kurt. When the test result came back, there wasn't any good news to share. As an addition, Kurt was malnourished as well as underweight.

"Maybe I should take you to the hospital again. They'll surely take care of you better than me." Blaine suggested brokenly.

"There's nothing anyone can do to…to help me, Blaine." Kurt murmured breathlessly. "There's nowhere I'd like to be than being here…with you."

"Come." Blaine gently tugged on Kurt's hand. "I've run a hot bath for you so you can relax a bit."

Kurt sluggishly got up with Blaine's help. He sagged against Blaine when he was finally on his two feet. Not only his inside was practically destroyed, his twenty-four week pregnant belly also had caused a limitation to his movement. There was no secret that he was indeed pregnant by now. Blaine gently put one arm under Kurt's knee while the other one around his torso and with a swift movement, he lifted Kurt into his arms in a bridal style. Kurt smiled softly and gawked into Blaine's hazel eyes as the vampire took him to the en suite bathroom.

Once there, Kurt gasped and tears were immediately welling in his eyes seeing the candles Blaine had arranged beautifully on the bathroom floor all together with red rose petals. The bathroom light was switched off and the candles, the moon and the stars were their only lighting and it looked so beautiful.

"You like it?"

"I love it, Blaine. It's so beautiful, thank you." Kurt announced, leaning more into Blaine.

"I'm glad." Blaine said, effortlessly stripping himself and Kurt off their clothes before stepping inside the hot bath filled with heavenly smelled essence and bubbles foam — lots of bubbles just like the way Kurt loved it. He then maneuvered himself and Kurt, as tender as possible so he wouldn't hurt the pregnant man in the bathtub into a comfortable position.

Blaine was about to kneed Kurt's sore muscles when he noticed a new dark spot on his fiancé's back, near the shoulder blade. He was pretty sure it wasn't there before considering he had been helping Kurt taking baths and dressing and moving around lately. "Is this a new one?"

Kurt hummed in confirmation, wincing faintly when Blaine pressed it. "I think so. It wasn't there yesterday. No wonder why I can't lie comfortably on my back. Is it bad?"

Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt, swallowing the lump in his throat. The bruise was quite big, almost the size of a tennis ball but not entirely round in shape. Kurt's body had been marked by bruises all over, from his back to his stomach, thighs and legs. This new one was nothing compared to the ones on Kurt's belly. They were bigger and darker and it pained Blaine to look. "I'm so helpless. I'm the one who did this to you. If I were—"

"Hey, don't say that." Kurt took one of Blaine's hands and kissed the knuckle. "You have done nothing wrong. It's fate it happened in the first place. I…I'm the one who wanted to continue with this pregnancy and I…I don't regret it at all, Blaine. I'm bringing our child into this world…your heir."

Blaine closed his eyes. Kurt sounded so weak it hurt to hear his voice. "I don't need an heir. I only need you, nobody else."

"Yes you do. This baby will complete our little family. I can just imagine a mini you running around this apartment. And by then I'll be no longer like this. I'll be healthy and I'll also be laughing with you as we watch our son." Kurt leaned back against Blaine's chest.

"Or daughter…" Stroking Kurt's arms lovingly with his fingers, Blaine faked a smile. He needed to pretend that everything was okay in his world right now or he would definitely lose his mind seeing Kurt suffer. "I'm picturing a mini you instead. He or she would be beautiful like their daddy."

"You are the Daddy. I wanna be Papa. It's so much cooler…and cuter." Kurt chortled happily as if he had forgotten about the pain he was having. "Yup, Papa is definitely cuter."

Blaine's chest tightened but he continued his forged cheerfulness for Kurt. "You will be a wonderful Papa. The best anyone could have ever wished for."

"And you as well." Kurt muttered with a sense of longing. "Blaine, I'm already twenty-four weeks along…shouldn't we start discussing names?"

"No need. You choose whatever name you want to give the baby. I'm sure I'm gonna love whatever name you pick." Blaine stated.

"I'm given the ultimate decision making ever, huh? Why so generous, Mr. Anderson?" Kurt craned his neck to look at Blaine.

Blaine quickly forced out a smile. "It's a once in a lifetime offer, Mr. soon-to-be-Anderson-himself. Don't waste this opportunity. Use it wisely."

Kurt smiled mischievously in return but not even the bright smile could cloud his ashen face. "Is that so? Hmm…what about Blaine Devon Anderson, Jr.?"

"Oh God, no…not Junior." Blaine groused. His distress was real and not a sham because he would never name another person after himself. He was really against it. One of him was enough. They certainly didn't need another.

"Blaine Devon Anderson, Jr. it is then!" Kurt squealed before the happiness was being replaced with a grimace which of course didn't go unnoticed by Blaine. Kurt tried to joke that perhaps the baby was against the idea as well but it didn't change anything on Blaine's behalf.

"We're gonna need to buy the baby stuff and start decorating the nursery as well." Kurt murmured, playfully splashing the water in the tub to the right and left.

"Shopping for baby stuff? Love, you can barely move. Maybe you should just shop for the stuff online." Blaine suggested.

Kurt shook his head reverently in disapproval. "I wanna hand pick them myself… inspecting the type of wood they use for the crib, changing table, rocking chair, the drawer — all the things needed with my own fingers and eyes. I'm thinking on getting a crib similar to what I had when I was a baby."

"Or…I'll go buy them myself." Blaine proposed once more, not wanting Kurt to stress himself out.

"You? No, no, no." Kurt was insistent. "With that amount of hair gel on your head, I'm seriously questioning your judgment purchasing furniture for our baby's nursery. I can't trust you."

Blaine rolled his eyes. Truthfully, he wasn't going to do all the shopping. He was going to ask somebody else to do it instead. His victim could be none other than Sebastian Smythe since the man seemed more excited about the baby than he was.

"You're not going out just to buy stuff for the baby and risk your health. It's either buy them online or let me buy them instead and that's final, no more argument." Blaine used his veto as a vampire.

"Is your platinum credit card enough for all the expenses?"

Kurt was giving him a smile but Blaine couldn't do the same. It didn't seem right but he would try the best he could to gratify Kurt. The baby could just sleep on their bed and get changed on the kitchen island for all he cared.

In truth, Blaine didn't know how much longer he could keep on with this façade.
