Olivia and Fitz spent the better half of the day making sure everything was getting put in the right place. All the deliveries had come; the men were bringing in their furniture and appliances. Olivia was thrilled with the kitchen. A few weeks ago they had gone to pick out new appliances, all stainless steal. If Olivia Pope was going to cook she would do it right. Fitz on the other hand was going crazy, he didn't know what was more frustrating watching the delivery men gawk at his Livvie or having them ignore his directions on where things needed to go. When he saw three queen beds all placed in one guest bedroom he just about lost it.
Olivia was unpacking a box of photos in the living room, every time she bent over in her yoga pants all eyes went straight towards her. Olivia was gazing at all the pictures she wasn't paying any attention to the attention she had garnered.
"Uhm gentlemen we are on a time table here and I'm afraid you're throwing it off." Fitz said in a snotty tone that reminded Olivia of who he was supposed to turn into.
"Fitz!" Olivia chastised him and he gave her a regretful look. "Come help me, the mantle is kind of high." When he made his way over to help her he saw the picture in his hand and grinned. It was a picture Abby had snapped of them in the early days of their relationship. Olivia was cheesing at the camera with her arms wrapped around Fitz, but he was looking down at her face. The rest of the pictures were of their family, one of her, Cammie, and Claudia sleeping on the couch after Thanksgiving dinner. Another of Olivia as a child maybe nine or ten sitting on Michaels shoulders as they both laughed. A large framed photo of her grandmother in her wedding gown looking into a mirror.
"Give those guys a break, there's a lot going on today." Olivia said stroking his face trying to ascertain if he was just stressed.
"Liv, they get paid to do this, they aren't doing us a favor."
"Fitzgerald!" Olivia said shocked, usually his rich white man syndrome only came out when she tried to shop from the clearance rack. "What is wrong with you right now?"
"Liv, just drop it. I'll be nice." Fitz said nearly through barred teeth. Olivia felt eyes on her and caught one of the men staring at her ass and suddenly it all made sense.
"Okay, but don't punch anyone for staring at my ass Bee, it belongs to you." Olivia smirked at him and slid her hands around his torso.
"Liv there are three beds in one room, you're obviously just too much of a distraction for them to do their jobs, maybe I should keep you in our bedroom with me until they're finished." Fitz said as he worked his hands to rest on the ass that had caught so much attention.
"That better not have been anything breakable!" Olivia groaned a bit wanting to take him up on his offer, but she heard a crashing come from upstairs. She disengaged herself from Fitz and made her way after the noise while Fitz finished putting up the photos. Olivia had managed to snap a picture of Scarlett and Fitz in the same position as the photo of her and Michael; a grin split his face as he placed them next to each other.
After hearing another crashing sound followed by "Fitz!" in stereo he follows Olivia's trail. Once Fitz found Olivia she was holding up a stack of books trying to convince Scarlett that simple alphabetization of her books would be better than the Dewey decimal system. The noise had come from the stack of books falling over he assumed. ,
"Scar, the Dewey was a huge butt head, you should just alphabetize your books, that's how Liv's are anyways." Fitz figured out how to get Scarlett to do anything, simply tell her it's what Olivia did.
"You do?" She asked and Olivia confirmed with a nod. "Okay well I guess that is easier and I can set up the playroom with Claudia after right?" Olivia made a face, but confirmed that Claudia, who had formed a bond with Scarlett already, along with the rest of her family, would be coming for dinner tonight.
Olivia and Fitz left Scarlett to finish her room, which was covered in wall-to-wall bookshelves, with a bed in the center, already made with the bright orange comforter she had picked out.
"You know I have to alphabetize my books now right?" Olivia asked Fitz.
"Did you really want to go get a label maker and try to help her figure out the Dewey decimal system?" Fitz asked her with a grin.
"Maybe for a rainy day project…" Olivia said wistfully. Hand in hand they walked into their bedroom. The bed was still in the plastic bag that it was moved in, the furniture wasn't placed against the walls but in the room sporadically, Zorro was locked in their closet that already held all of Olivia and Fitz's clothes in boxes.
"It's going to be a long day isn't it?" Olivia asked Fitz and she pulled him down to plop next to her on the plastic covered bed. They lay next to each other half on the bed with their feet on the floor still holding hands.
"Mhm." Fitz murmured his agreement.
"Well why the hell did we agree to do this all on one day? I told you this was going to be too much." Fitz snorted at this. Olivia had insisted on having everything delivered at the same time to "get it over with."
"I'm sorry Livvie I should have listened to you." Fitz said in the most contrite tone he could muster.
Olivia smiled broadly, "God I love you."
"You love having someone to blame your crazy on." Fitz replied.
"Well that too." She said sheepishly.
"We should get back to making sure everything gets put in the right spot, otherwise Michael, Huck and I will have to do it."
Before he could get up she pulled his arm. "One minute?"
"One minute." He confirmed.
After their one minute they spent the rest of the day organizing, Fitz making sure everything got into the right room and Olivia working one room at a time. It was pretty easy as they had gotten simple bedding and furniture for each room, once it was all moved in, Olivia would set up things to personalize the room, make the beds and check it off the list. Since just about everything was new it was easy to just unpack it the boxes that had been delivered and put it away. Before they knew it Fitz and Olivia were half asleep on a heap on the couch in the living room, while Scarlett was passed out asleep on top of her bed with Boo.
"I love this couch." Fitz said snuggling his head into her lap. At first Fitz was hesitant to get it because of the color, Olivia had of course chosen cream, but Olivia loved the overstuffed couch and Fitz had relented.
"Wow two, you were rights today. You're really working for it aren't you?"
"Just giving credit where credit is due."
"Are you hungry, you haven't eaten all day." Fitz asked her.
"Cammie said they're bring food, and a salad because the only vegetable that Scar has eaten since we got home has been in an egg roll." Olivia told him, lying a bit she had been nauseous and sore all day. She didn't really know what the problem was but she knew she had to power through and work this out with her siblings. She had decided to talk to Michael, hear him out, and say her piece, because at the end of the day he loved her, he wasn't their father.
As soon as she finished speaking the doorbell rang and Fitz jumped up to go get the door. The entire clan was there Cammie, Huck, Claudia, Harrison, Abby, and Michael. Claudia, Huck and Michael looked awkward, as Fitz invited them in. Cammie ran off to find Olivia though she didn't have to look very far, Olivia was right behind Fitz, slowed down a bit by her nausea. They hugged and Cammie gushed about the house. Olivia beamed despite how sick and tired she felt. Once they finished their greeting Olivia pulled her sister into a hug and said,
"I love you CeeCee, we have a lot to talk about, but I understand." Claudia hugged her back fiercely as Fitz smiled watching them. They quickly brought the food into the kitchen to eat at the island as their kitchen table was still covered in boxes. Claudia went to go wake Scarlett who was wrapped around her stuff lion with a drooling Boo sprawled over her legs. Claudia laughed thinking how odd it was that she had so much in common with Olivia as she woke the little girl.
By time she got back down stairs, Olivia was pelting Michael with black olives from her salad as Huck made a disgusted face and Fitz and Abby shielded themselves from the crossfire and Cammie giggled. It seemed all was forgiven for now. All it had taken was Michael saying, "I'm sorry" and meaning it and Olivia running into his arms for a hug. They still had plans and strategizing to do, but tonight they would be able to be a family and celebrate the new home.
"Everyone is staying here tonight right?" Scarlett asked, not knowing the awkwardness and hostility that was narrowly avoided.
Olivia exchanged a look with Fitz than Michael before she said yes. Harrison quickly made his way off to the guesthouse with Huck to work on security. After dinner Scarlett happily led everyone to their rooms, declaring that Abby and Michael would share a room, but Cammie and Claudia didn't have to. Everyone could tell how much the day had taken out of Olivia. She looked pale and sick, she said her goodnights, allowed Cammie and Claudia to take over story duty for Scarlett and allowed Fitz to lead her off to bed.
Olivia awoke in the middle of the night in serious pain, her stomach felt like it was trying to crawl its way out, she was nauseous and ran to find a bathroom where Fitz wouldn't hear her throwing up. She didn't want to worry him.
When she felt like she could stand again she washed her mouth out and left the bathroom promptly running into Claudia who was half asleep, but heard her being sick, quickly followed by Fitz who was looking for her. Olivia rolled her eyes at them.
"You know if you two are going to have loud sex in your own house that's great for you, I don't wanna hear you're, 'oh yeah baby right there baby oh god yeah that's it' Claudia fake gagged. You might want to look into some sound proofing."
"We already did." Fitz said in response. Prompting Claudia to continue her fake gagging routine.
"Wait you didn't hear us, Fitz doesn't call me Baby and I don't call him that and we didn't tonight oh ew god gross yuck Jesus!" Olivia said, grossed out by the conclusion.
"Oh so that was oh Christ in heaven, I'm going to need a gallon of brain bleach and maybe a new car, definitely new shoes, he owes me new shoes!"
"He owes me a new guest room!" Olivia said appalled.
"What are you two talking about?" Fitz said not catching on.
"Well the raucous sex taking place in our house wasn't us, and it wasn't Claudia…"
"Oh." Fitz said awkwardly between wanting to be grossed out and wanting to abide the bro code and high five Michael. Olivia rolled her eyes at Fitz's response, but was caught by a jolt of pain that took her legs out from under her. She looked up at Fitz before she passed out and hit the floor.
