Chapter 52, everybody! Which may start answering the questions I raised in the last chapter….I seem to have boggled some minds….

Yuko13, thanks for the review! No! Don't give up! /;^;/ Yeah, I could never picture it either….I recommend watching Ecfor on DeviantArt—they keep their watchers posted on when Don't Starve is on sale (plus their art is like woah). Good for you—although that makes me wonder about those people who get offended by everything….Yes, you could have a really annoying song stuck in your head (I won't name any and cause an accidental infestation of ear-worms). And you probably ought to take an Excedrin after banging your head against a wall. D:

Angiembabe, thanks for the review! You're not the only one, apparently—don't worry, we'll start getting things explained soon enough. :)

Blanket disclaimers are in Chapter 1 (I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh!, I do not own Avatar, I do not own Don't Starve, I do own Chaos Creatures, etc., et al…).

Yugi was making it a point to enjoy breakfast.

The events of last night meant that he wasn't in a huge hurry to return to the Avatar. He did not want to join that [Redacted] list.

And then that weird guy….

Don't you know, Mr. Moutou? I'm nothing but a shadow….

Yugi was pretty sure that whoever or whatever that thing was, it was not that pulp character that Yami had been a fan of. For one, that one had been fiction; for another, if he wasn't fiction, then that one was waaaay dead now. He had been popular when, the 1930s?

So who else did he know of that wore a slouch hat and cloak?

"You know, studies have shown that ESP in humans isn't real."

Yugi looked up at Vivian, startled. That was way too close to what he had just been thinking. "Huh?"

"You've been staring at those eggs like you want to set them on fire," Vivian clarified.

Yugi looked back at his forgotten breakfast. Oh, yeah….

Vivian glanced over to where Mai was working on one of the computers and trying to rid herself of Valon at the same time. "You know…if you ever have to talk about something, you do have us."

Yugi could just picture how that voice would react: She's feeling guilty now for ignoring you.

Great—now the thing was permanently etched into his brain.

"I…." How to say it? Should he say it?...no…best to try a different tack. "Have you ever heard of something wearing a hat and cloak?"

Vivian made a face, as though that wasn't the sentence she had been expecting, then gave it some thought. "Well, there was this old radio guy, the Shadow—"

"I know about him—this is someone different."

"Someone different?" Vivian echoed, thinking. "Well…ah—that Sheut and Queen Bee carving. Sheut looked like it was wearing a cloak and hat."

Yugi stared at her. "You got that from my yucky doodle?" he asked, remembering his failed attempt at drawing what he had seen. It hadn't ended well. "It looked like a pile of noodles."

Vivian checked Mai before indicating he should follow. He did so, following her to a lower cabinet that she carefully popped open.

"Here," she whispered, pulling out a sheath of paper and flipping through it. It was written in precise, spiky cursive that looked familiar….

"This is it," Vivian murmured, glancing at Mai again. Yugi looked at the paper she indicated. Again, the sketchy, loopy cursive, with sketches of Chaos Creatures and plants…and the carving of Sheut and the Queen Bee. Yugi squinted at the writing.

Chaos Creatures that travel from dimension to dimension (probable? Must check scientific applications) "spreading Chaos"—implies that Chaos Creatures believe in alternate dimensions—Sheut male Chaos in slouch hat and cloak, "cannot be physically harmed"—Queen Bee mechanical, can control anything electronic—Chaos Creatures have that level of technology? Suggests a level of intelligence hitherto unconsidered, considering tree-based living….Must ask Miss Elsie later—

Miss Elsie? Scientific applications?

"Wilson wrote this?" Yugi asked, before he could stop himself.

Vivian looked at him sharply. "How do you—"

But all conversation in the trailer came to a screeching halt in the next few seconds.

There was a tapping on the trailer wall.
