HURRY

Jo lay in Dean's arms. She could feel him twitching in his sleep behind her, and she grabbed his hand. Pulling his arm closer around her, she felt him tense. As she tried to settle down and fall back asleep, a grunt escaped his lips. Turning her head to see him, his face was scrunched up in pain. Within seconds, he was holding onto her body for dear life.

"Dean? Babe wake up," she said, watching as he continued to grimace and sweat glistened on his forehead. His grip tightened and it started to become uncomfortable on her frail bones. "Dean!" she said a little louder. Suddenly he jolted awake and she felt his arms tighten even more around her small form.

"W-what? What's wrong?" he said, immediately registering the fact that he wasn't in his dream anymore.

"You were having a nightmare," she answered, looking up at him with concerned eyes.

"Huh? Oh…" he realized that he was holding her extremely tight and loosened his grip. "Shit, I'm sorry sweetheart," he rambled out. She saw his face change from confused to guilt.

"It's okay. Do you want to talk about it?"

"No. Just…just go back to sleep babe," he said, settling in behind her again and holding her close. He felt that if he wasn't holding her that she would slip away and leave him right then and there. Little did she know that his nightmares haunted him with images from Hell. Breathing in the familiar scent of his wife, he knew he wouldn't be able to get anymore sleep.

"Want breakfast?" Jane asked Sam and Tanner as they sat at the kitchen table in their kitchen. Jane had finished repainting most of the house, and Sam and finished fixing the fence. Their home was shaping up to be really nice.

"Sure," Sam said, as he took a sip of coffee. Tanner was next to him scarfing down a plate of eggs and sausage. Since stores began opening, they were all eager to be eating fresh food again.

"Missy!" Jane called for the young girl to come eat breakfast. She knew that Tanner would be leaving to help Dean out or go into town after eating, and Sam would most likely continue research. A few minutes later, Sam's eggs were done and Missy came skipping into the kitchen. Jane started to scramble her some eggs. Tanner's chair scooted backwards as he stood up.

"I'm heading into town to grab a few things for Dean," the teenager announced. Sam was oblivious to the conversation as he busied himself with a book that was written in Latin. Missy however popped her head up and smiled.

"No you're not. You're goin' to see Sarah," she sing-songed.

"Shut up Missy," Tanner snapped. His little sister's constant accusations about Sarah were extremely irritating.

"Mommy, he told me to shut up!" Missy whined as she pointed a finger at her older brother. Sam's head shot up and Jane dropped the spatula in her hand.

'Mommy? Did she just…oh my God, she did. I can't believe it!' Jane said to herself in her head. A smile spread across her face and she continued to look down at the pan of eggs in front of her.

"Tanner go ahead," she said, dismissing the argument before it could really get started between the two. Stealing a glance back at Sam sitting at the table, she saw him look at her with a bemused expression. "Here, sit down and eat your eggs," she instructed and motioned for Missy to sit down.

"Dean! Quit acting like I'm gonna drop dead!" Jo screamed as she walked from the bedroom down the hall to the bathroom.

"I'm not! I just don't want you to overwork yourself! Why are you making me out to be the bad guy?! I'm trying to help you!"

"Helping me would be letting me enjoy what I still can," she said coldly, looking up at his frustrated green eyes. She turned her back on him to brush her hair. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she saw how pale she had gotten. "I need to get outside. I can't stay cooped up all the time. I'm having a good day for once, and I want to go outside and enjoy it," she explained. She heard him sigh, and knew she'd won.

"Fine. But if it gets to be too much we're going back," he tried to reason. A smile spread across her features as she finished putting her hair into a high ponytail.

"I knew there was a reason I agreed to be your wife," she teased, her sour mood forgotten.

"Yeah yeah. I'll get Nathan, you go get some food in your stomach," he said with a tiny smirk. Once Dean had Nathan fed and dressed, the trio walked out onto the porch of their home.

"Come on," Jo urged. Taking Nathan from Dean, Jo started walking. Realizing he wasn't going to stop her, he followed and put an arm over her shoulders. They walked down a familiar path that Dean and Sam used to venture down when they were children. The path wound around the property line, eventually stopping at a small clearing.

With a grin, Jo moved back and forth with Nathan in her arms. Looking out at the small pond, she sighed.

"See? I told you we would be fine. I can go for a damn walk without killin' myself," she joked. Dean didn't like her joke, and gave her a frown. However, as he saw her smile beaming on her face and the light return to her eyes, he couldn't hold back his own smile.

"Yeah, I guess. I haven't been back here in years," he commented. He watched Jo sit down on the green grass with his son, and he joined them. Wrapping his arm around his small family, he looked out at the familiar pond. "You know, when Sammy and I were kids we used to come down here all the time when dad would leave us at Bobby's. Sam would always insist there were fish in here, but I never saw him catch anything," he let out a small chuckle.

"Really?" Jo asked, looking up at him as she set Nathan on the grass.

"Yep. One time I was swimming and Sammy was trying to fish. I didn't know he was casting in my direction, and I'm pretty sure he had no idea what he was doing. Anyways, I ended up getting hooked in the ear. That's what this is from," he motioned towards the edge of his left ear where there was a small white scar. Jo burst out laughing as she became enthralled in his story. He didn't tell her many happy stories of his childhood, because there weren't a whole lot. "I was bleedin' the whole walk back to the house. Damn, was I pissed. I was only about thirteen or fourteen too."

Jo sat and listened intently as Dean opened up on various funny stories of him and Sam from when they were kids. Deep down, she knew he was trying to distract her from her sickness, but she didn't care. Throughout his stories, they would watch Nathan's attempts to crawl. It was turning out to be a really good day, until a certain angel appeared.

"Dean," Balthazar said.

"Whoa, what are you doing here?" Dean said, automatically pulling Jo closer to him.

"I hate to break up your 'moment', but there's a swarm coming this way. You need to go down to the basement and hide in the bunker. Now."

"What about Sam? Jane, Tanner and Missy?" Jo asked, her pulse increasing. Balthazar rolled his eyes and looked at the couple with an inpatient expression.

"I've told them. They were easier to find then you guys. Now go! Hurry!" the angel warned before disappearing.
