So we finally find out why Eve was crying in her dreams
and how her father is communicating with her in her dreams
No More Dreams
Eve dreamed that night back in the beautiful meadow, of rippling grass, blue sky and fluffy clouds. Eve sat under a large oak tree its green leaves waving happily in the gentle breeze. Eve's father was there too, they sat together Eve rested her head on her father shoulder and her father Midnight had his arm wrapped around her. They sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity that ended to soon. "Eve" Midnight spoke in a deep voice that was very serious. "Yes father" Eve whispered opening her eyes to look at him. "So you meet my old partner" he queried. Eve nodded "he was really nice" Eve said looking down "but he died" she whispered ashamed that she had not tried to save him.
"I know" said her father "but life goes on" her father told her pushing her chin up. "He told me about your unusual telepathy technique" Eve informed him. "Did he now" her father raised an eyebrow. Eve nodded vigorously "about how you can use telepathy and enter peoples mind but only when they're asleep, like right now" she said. "Well now I don't have to explain it to you, I thought you'd figure it out sooner or later" her father mumbled thoughtfully. "Now Eve you and Grovyle said you'd do anything to change the world right" Midnight asked Eve running a hand through her hair and behind her ear. Eve nodded "Good because you probably won't see me again ever" he informed her. "What" Eve yelped "Why" she asked tears filling her eyes.
"Once you find all the Time Gears Dusknoir will have no reason to keep me prisoner anymore" he informed her. "So he's- he's going to kill you" Eve whimpered as a single tear slid down her cheek and dropped to the ground. Midnight nodded "Don't cry Eve" he said wiping the tears away with his hand. "I'm willing to make sacrifices and so should you" he told her. "Try your hardest and don't let it bother you I would have disappeared anyway" he told her reassuringly. Eve nodded slowly "I'll try father" she whimpered. "Do you promise" he asked "I promise" Eve replied, as they hugged for what would be the last time. "I'll miss you" Eve said as her father faded away along with everything else. The last thing Eve say was his smiling face "I'm so proud" he whispered.
Eve opened her eyes and rubbed them sleepily. Grovyle was sitting next to her scanning the terrane "So you managed to stay awake for once" Eve mumbled sitting up. "Some-one has to" Grovyle retaliated. "At least I don't fall asleep on the job" Eve said twisting a strand of hair around her index finger. "At least I don't fall asleep before the job is given" Grovyle reminded her. "I can stay awake when I want" Eve protested. "Sure you can" said Grovyle rolling his eyes. Eve picked up a pebble from the ground and threw it at Grovyle who twisted his head just as it made impact, hitting him between the eyes. "Ouch" Grovyle said rubbing his fore head. "Darn" Eve said punching the ground. "What" asked Grovyle still rubbing his sore head.
"I missed" Eve said "I was aiming for your mouth" Eve said quite grumpy. "I thought if you choked that might shut you up" Eve said mischievously. "Wow, you really can't take a joke" Grovyle grumbled angrily. "You're not the one to make jokes" she reminded him standing up. "We'd better get going" she sighed. "Do you even know where you're going" Grovyle asked crossing his arms. "Dah, the north" Eve said pointing with one hand will the other rest on her hip. Grovyle looked in the direction Eve was pointing and it was indeed the north. "Ok" thought Grovyle "At least she has some sense of direction" he joked to himself not wanting to anger Eve more. They started walking in the direction Eve had pointed, they walked in silence.
Eve didn't smile like she usually did as they walked or make chirpy conversation that Grovyle had little interest in. Still now that Eve was so quite he had begun to miss her annoying chatter. Grovyle didn't like silence although it was always best to travel in silence when you're on the run he didn't like it, it made him feel like something bad would happen. Eve looked frustrated and a bit upset like she was mulling over some impossible puzzle in her head. Grovyle couldn't take the silence any longer he had to find out what was wrong.
