Special: Chapter 5

~SailorMoon~

"Listen, Davis, calm down!"

Davis and his generals followed Davis, trying to reason with him, hoping to prevent a major

But the young boy kept marching dead on to the place in his memories.

"Geez, its like talking to a bull." Mal grunted.

"Or Raye when she's stubborn." Jude admitted.

"And Lita." Nathanial commented.

"Any else we should know?" Zane required.

"Yeah. His dad is almost just like him." Veemon inputted.

"Great…"

"I can't believe Masao was Nori's husband." Nathanial said with soft surprise.

"Why's that?"

"Because Nori was so bubbly and full of life whereas Masao is grouchy and only communicates through grunts."

"Then Davis is the perfect mix of them." Mal remarked.

Pretty soon, Davis found the Astromony center, where the source of his anger lies. Once he got inside, he heard loud grilling noises coming from the hall. Stomping all the way over, he kicked the doors open.

Long, big legs, wearing blue, heavy demin, dirty jeans, were sticking out from underneath a huge machine, grilling nails into the metal. He didn't hear his son burst through the door with a priceless gold amulet in his hand. Davis didn't care about the hunk of junk. He wanted the stupid thing under it.

"Dad!"

Nothing changed. The noise Masao made with his building overshadowed Davis. The teenager growled again, getting more annoyed by the minute. He was boiling red hot all over. He didn't have any patience left.

"Dad!"

With a hump, he marched over and swung his soccer-kicking leg, delivering a good hard kick at the metal hunk of junk. Masao's legs jumped as he bucked up, hitting his head off the metal inches above him. The outburst startled Masao, which caused the man to get a bad headache. The man come out from underneath on the back of a skateboard, coated in oil and dust, coughing up a storm.

"Davis, I told you a million times not to touch anything, especially when I'm working on it! What are you doing here anyway?"

Davis thrust his hand out, presenting his father the amulet. The reaction he got confirmed his suspicions. His dad looked like he was having a heart attack. He was even clutching a hand over his chest.

"Where the hell did you get that?!"

"Found it." Davis bared his teeth like an animal. "Why didn't you tell me? About mom? About my friends?"

Masao said nothing. He stared hard at his son. Then he sighed. "Son, you have to understand. You were too young. Your mother realized how truly dangerous her lifestyle was. She did what she had to do."

"I understand why she had to do. She was trying to protect me, because she loved me." Davis answered back. "Unlike you."

"Excuse me?"

"I fought the bogeyman just minutes ago and I know why mom always had bags under her eyes. That thing was relentless! It woudn't stop! Mom sacrificed herself everyday." Davis hardened his angry glare, expressing a deep level. "You, on the other hand, just laze around, hammering on your stupid toys. I may have brush off mom's apologies, but you neglected me so badly, I can cook and clean the whole flat blind-folded!"

His sneer and comment offended his own father. "We have a difficult marriage, but that doesn't mean we didn't love each other. And I do take care of you."

"Giving me my allowance once a week doesn't count."

"Don't give me that attitude!"

"I have every right to! You left me all alone! You knew I was friends with the girls when I was a kid, you knew I was having trouble making friends in school and you did nothing to help!"

"I did what I could do!"

"What does she see in you?!"

"I was the only one who could see past her dumb disguises with that pendant of hers!"

"Amulet."

"Whatever. Life is not easy, son."

"Mom knew that, dad. You didn't do anything for her!"

"I couldn't do anything!"

"I never saw you smile at mom at least once when she was alive!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH, DAISUKE!" Masao roared.

Davis stopped ranting and glared at his dad. The boy grasped his hair, flashily gridded his teeth and growled, all out of frustration. Finding this argument was getting nowhere since his dad was impossible to reason with, Davis turned away and stormed out, passing the men who followed him, including the man who owns the Astromony center. Masao sighed heavily, dropping his angry stance, and stroked his face. The men witnessed the explosive argument and thus were so totally baffled. Veemon hid behind their legs, covering his ears and huddling in a ball due to experience.

Then Zane broke the still silence. "Now I see why Davis gets along with girls better than boys."

"That certainly explains everything." Darien argeed solemnly.

Davis didn't have much of a father figure for guidance. No teacher. No one to show him from right or wrong. All because of an angsty father.

"Hold on, Davis!" Veemon ran after his distressed partner.

Davis slowed his storming down to a stop, allowing Veemon to reach him, wrapping his short arms around his legs. Davis hung his head down, sighing.

"He's always like that. Always. Like…he doesn't care."

{Do You Want to Build a Snowman? by Kristen Bell from 'Frozen'}

The scene flashbacked to the aftermath of his mother's difficult decision to separate him from her and his best friends.

The cute little boy was running down the hall, innocent, ignorant and desperate for attention. Since he had no idea he had a strong friendship, he went to his parents' room.

"Daddy?" He asked before the closed door and then knocked rhythmically.

Knock, knock, knock-knock-knock, knock!

Davis: Do you wanna build a snowman?

Come on lets go and play

I never see you anymore

Come out the door

It's like you've gone away!

We used to be best buddies

And now we're not

I wish you would tell me why!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

It doesn't have to be a snowman

"Go away, Davis!"

Davis recoiled from the door, startled at the harsh snap.

Davis: Okay, bye...

He sadly walked away.

Few years later, he was still lonely. He had no friends at school and was getting restless with doing nothing around the small apartment they called home.

At 10 years old, he knocked rhythmically on his dad's door again, grinning giddily.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Or ride our bikes around the halls?

I think some company is overdue

I've started talking to the pictures on the walls

(Hang in there, Grandpa!)

It gets a little lonely

All these empty rooms,

Just watching the hours tick by…

Davis clicked his tongue while his eyes darted side to side, following the arrow on the clock.

Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock!

Another few years later, Davis was chosen as a DigiDestined and finally got the companionship he wanted for so long.

He passed his parents' door with a wary glance while he was hiding DemiVeemon in his shirt.

He was consumed by the responsibilities on his shoulders, especially with the Christmas incident, to even beg for his family's attention.

Then came Nori's death.

At the first funeral, Davis, in all black and no Digimon to hide, slowly came up his now dad's door and knocked three times.

"Dad?"

Please, I know you're in there

People are asking where you've been

They say "have courage", and I'm trying to

I'm right out here for you

Just let me in…

He was desperately begging for his dad, going on the verge of crying.

We only have each other

It's just you and me

What are we gonna do?

He turned around and sat down, sitting against the closed door, and leaned his head back. He hmphed as tears flowed out.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Eventually he cried. His scene merged with another, one of him as a lonely toddler in the rain, bawling like the baby he was.

Going back and behind the door, unknowingly, his father was holding back angry tears, crouching over his desk. A picture frame of Nori with broken glass was near his reach.

Presently, Masao groaned, out of the frustration of dealing with his kid.

"That kid is giving me grey hairs before my time."

He was immediately attacked.

"You bastard!"

"That kid is your child!"

"Davis is only a young boy!"

"You don't think I know that?" Masao snapped. "I raised my little sister by myself when my parents died on me!"

Darien glared at the man who emotionally hurt his angelic cousin's lover. "I lost my father to a car accident along with my mother and my memories on my birthday. I don't want the same thing to ever happen to Rui and Rini."

"That's what happens when you have kids. You want to give them everything you didn't have." Masao simply retorted.

"Masao, you have no idea how huge a burden your wife and son carried." Nathanial noticed that the engineer he hired narrowed his eyes so dangerously, the pupils turn into slits like the eyes of a terrible dragon. However, he brushed aside to knock some sense into him. "I, myself, was orphaned at young age. I was left to carry on my family's legacy of astromony and the center. It was a heavy bruden, just as Davis and Nori had. It was a huge responsibility and I was just a confused boy. Davis is going through the exact same thing and you're throwing yourself into your work just to avoid him."

"I know how that feels." Mal said, folding his arms. "My parents threw themselves in remarrying as soon they got divorced. It was a neverending war between them. Going back and forth as a piece of meat."

"A man should never neglect his family for business."* Zane chimed.

"Oh, and I suppose you have words of wisdom to offer me?"

Masao angered Zane at this. "You're no better than my own dad. He left before I was born so my mother raised me by herself. He never took responsibility of me. My poor mother was shunned by the older generation all because she was unmarried with child."

Jude snorted, challenging Zane. His icy-blue eyes were suddenly burning. "Oh yeah? My father was a big-time stockbroker, a real wolf*. He conned millions through his ponzi scheme* and then took off to China, leaving me and my mother without a penny." He took on a bitter tone, still angry over the abandonment.

"That's why I don't trust big time companies. They always steal your hard-earned money." Masao retorted, as if he wasn't understanding what the young men were trying to tell him.

"That's not the point!" Darien yelled, finally breaking his patience. "He's your flesh and blood! You think you're protecting him but what you're really doing is hurting him! Your wife could have helped him but she couldn't. You should've realize that! You should've helped her. Because of you, he's unstable with his emotions and he needs someone to help him. He needs a good father figure and I doubt you're gonna step up to the role."

Darien turned away from Masao and walked out. Mal, Zane, Jude and Nathanial followed him out but not before giving Masao a glare. Masao glared right back, but as soon the men left him alone, he grabbed a chair, sat down, hiding his face in his hands.

Meanwhile, Darien hurried out, running after Davis, looking for him.

When he saw him, he called him out. "Davis, wait!"

Davis turned around "Oh, hey, Mr Shields."

"Call me Darien." The man tenderly laid his hands on the young boy's shoulder, feeling them shake and tense. "Are you okay?"

Despite his hesitation and his eyes about to flood, Davis shrugged. "Nah, I'm used to it."

"You shouldn't be." Darien stated firmly. He looked up, noting the dark sky. "Its getting late. How about we get you back to my house?"

Davis smiled. "Gee, thanks. Hey, there's an Autumn festival in Odaiba. Wanna come?"

Darien beamed. "I love to."

"Count us in!" Zane's hands attacked Davis hair, catching him by shocking surprise.

{Always Be Together by Little Mix}

The scene was black. Nothing was seen. Then music was heard.

As a piano played notes, the screen brightened to show PurityxSpirited on a stage, wearing furisodes*; Naomi in cyan with showering cherry blossoms and gold obi, Sadie covered with magenta and purple stripes along with a metallic light-green obi, Charisse in a green African-style furisode with a brown obi, and Lily in a traditional shimmering white one and a light-blue obi, both with fuchsia lily prints.

Sadie: Mmmmm…

Yeah

Yeah

Mmmmm

They were singing to the people at the Autumn festival, the one Davis was talking about. People were in kimonos, fanning themselves even with the cool air. The trees were crisp orange red, including Naomi's cherished cherry blossoms. It was night time, the sky dark blue with twinkling stars.

Lily: We are friends for life

Hold that deep inside

Let this be your drive

To survive

Lori's mother, chief of Odaiba's police, sat in her office, looking over the flies of Nori's hit-and-run, searching for any clue. She had a gut feeling it was more than accidental.

She glanced up and saw the ghost of her ex-husband glaring at her with the same green eyes as her sons. It didn't mean that he was dead. It meant that he was part of her past. While she was working, he was philandering.

She glared right back until he faded away, from her new life.

Naomi: And just stand high and tall

Make sure you give your all

And if you ever fall

Know that I'm right here

"Hey, Captain Suto!" Davis appeared at her door, dressed up in a royal-blue kimono with gold stitchings of dragons circling along the rims. "We'll already. Are you coming?"

Smiling, Jun-Sun stood up, showing off her curvaceous body wearing a beautiful red kimono. "Of course, Davis. Let's go."

She found peace with her family, with her caring new husband.

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: We'll always be together

Don't you worry

Charisse: Ho-woah whoa oh…

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: I'll always be by your side

Don't you worry

Charisse: Don't worry, no no no…

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: The circle will never end

Just know that we'll meet again

And we'll always be together

Forever always

Charisse: oh, oh…

All: I am here

The V-Hearts were there, having a great time with their families and the other DigiDestiends. The Digimon played around, either with their partners or with other kids.

Standing beside his sisters, Davis looked around, smiling. Veemon wore his own mini-kimono in gold and was talking with his fellow Digimon. Rui, Amethsyt, Risa, Orion, Tania and Zion were running around wildly, nearly knocking people over.

The girls dressed their best, even for such a social event.

Annalise was clad in a furisode in soft navy with prints of blooming red and white roses and turquoise clouds on the bottom end, a shiny yellow obi around her waist with a light-red obijime*, fanning herself with a white fan decorated in red roses, and her hair let loose as silky as her furisode with a haircomb of red roses. Her girly Quartz was dressed in a short red kimono with a pink obi.

Anya was stunning in a warm yellowish-orange furisode with soft red wind swirls on the bottom half and the sleeve's ends, a violet obi around her middle and fastened with a big bow, a black obijime with yellow feathers on it, while holding a white oriental umbrella with gold fleur-de-lys designs, and her hair in a up-down do. Helena was in a brown/red-patterned kimono with a red obi.

Lori was in a more modest furisode which thickly hugged her entire body, but her head and tip of her hands, in bold red with black vine coming up from the bottom and gold specks like ones from flames, a gold obi with a green obijime, holding a white/pink fan with the picture of a geisha walking under cherry blossom branches, her wild hair tied up in a high bun decorated with small white and red pompoms all round, showing off her pretty face. Atsuko had pompoms on her ears and a bright yellow kimono.

Kokoro, as usual, was beyond beautiful with a lavender silk kimono instead of a furisode, fitting her body with wide sleeves falling over her elbows and pink blossing cherry blossom branches creeping up her figure, a silver obi and white obijime with 10 pink hearts in a row, white geta sandals, her hair specially ironed straight hair again, and navy fan with small white hearts in her hands. Cleo donned a white kimono with a blue obi and a yellow bow behind her ear.

Sadie: Find me in the sky

Dancing with the moon and night

Your heartbeat is disguised as my

Lullaby

Annalise dully watched her aunt and father argue like bickering siblings. Same old, same old. Aunt Yun called him 'Shooti', daddy retorted "All because I-", mom cut in as the peacemaker, putting the end to another fight.

"My family is soo not normal." Annalise groaned, rolling her head back. Her biggest fan was hugging onto her arm.

"No one's family is normal. Look at mine." Kari said as she pointed to her brother and Agumon who just pushed Matt and Gabumon into a pile of leaves and laugehd immaturely.

Annalise shrugged. "I guess you're right."

"Davis, we must remember to investigate that video of that boy with the-" Anya was saying before Davis stopped her.

"Let's not bring that up now. Have some fun. We fought the bogeyman, remember?"

Charisse: Be happy and know that I'm

Watching you travel far and wide

Waiting for us to meet again…ah..ah..ah,..ah!

As Charissse bellowed so strong and emotional, Mina grinned, feeling very impressed by the girlband.

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: We'll always be together

Don't you worry

Charisse: Don't you worry…!

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: I'll always be by your side

Don't you worry

Charisse: Don't you worry…!

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: The circle will never end

Charisse: It'll never ends…!

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: Just know that we'll meet again

Charisse: We'll meet again…! No…

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: And we'll always be together

Forever always

Charisse: Oh…!

Naomi/Sadie/Lily: I am here

Suddenly Davis was pushed by a small force and fell into a leaf pile. He sat up with a mouthful of chucky leaves, shooting a glare at those responsible. Rui, Amethsyt, Risa, Orion, Tania and Zion laughed at him, their parents watching on amusedly.

Scramping to his feet, Davis bared his teeth, held his hands out in a claw position. Rui and his little gang immediately took off, promoting the mockingly-angry boy to chase them.

The other V-Hearts, knowing Davis was only joking, ran after him just for the hell of it. Having fun, running through leaf piles, they felt little again.

Lily: If you need me, yeah

I'm in the wind

Look for me friend

I'm in the stars

Along the run, Kokoro dropped her fan, making her stop and bend to pick it up. As she straightened up, she caught sight of her grandmother, Mira. Her deceased grandmother.

Like her daughter and granddaughter, Mira Kamakura was blonde and blue-eyed. Her hair was platinum blonde and long, her eyes light blue and she was wearing a long, lavender dress with long sleeves, a lavender shawl over her shoulders and white flats. Even in her elderly age, she was so enchanting.

Naomi: When you need me

The heavens will send

A message within

Grandmother and grandddaughter shared a smile. Then Mira turned and faded away, back to the peaceful afterlife.

All: Straight to your heart…

Kokoro, still smiling, turned around and ran to her friends plus lover, the best things that ever happened to her. The five friends and five Digimon hugged each other with arms around waists, smiling altogether.

Charisse: powerful Oh….

Oh…oh…oh…oh…!

"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life." Quartz wisely stated.

All: We'll always be together

Don't you worry

Charisse: Don't you worry…no…

All: I'll always be by your side

Don't you worry

Lily: Never worry about a thing, no no no no no no no!

All: The circle will never end

Sadie: It'll never end!

All: Just know that we'll meet again

Naomi: We'll meet again, no!

All: And we'll always be together

Forever always

Lily: Don't you worry!

All: I am here

Sadie: I am here

Charisse: Yeah…

Naomi: I am here

All: I am here

Practically all of Odaiba Park applause for the girl band. The four girls grabbed hands and bowed before the audience. Mina ran up to PurityxSpirited as they got off stage. The girls blushed with Lily getting excited by the appearance of an idol within her grasp. Something that Mina said made the girls so jumpy and happy, Lily hugged the model's legs, causing mixed reactions to erupt. Mina wasn't bothered by it and just laughed.

"She's probably offering them a deal." Mal noted, although he knew that what's his wife was doing exactly.

Amy gasped. "What? But those girls don't look like they're in high school."

"Mina will give them a chance. She's wouldn't exploit them." Serena assured.

Davis smiled at the Pure Spirited, happy for their hard-worked reward, until he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to his side, meeting his sister Jun.

"Come on, Davis. Dad want to talk to us at the center." She told him.

He frowned and folded his arms stubbornly. "No way am I gonna go all the way to Minato just to see Dad's stupid-"

"NOW!" She yanked hard on his collar, choking him as she begun forcibly dragging him. Right now, he regretted the fact that she was current taking ninjutsu lessons and martial arts.

"Helpsh me!" Veemon screamed as his own sister, Jun's Lillymon, carried him off too.

Jun and Lillymon eventually brought their reluctant brothers to the Astromony center before the night was done. Ahiru was no trouble. She was somewhat naïve to the toxicity in her new-found family. She strolled through the doors and headed up to her father in the hall part of the observatory.

"Hello, daddy!" Ahiru stood up on her tippy toes and kissed his cheek.

Masao hugged her across the shoulders, grinning lopsided. "Hey kids." His grin dropped when answered by his son's glare. So he waved his hand, gesturing to the big machine behind him. "Well kids, whar cha' think?"

"Looks big." Veemon said obilivously.

"Shouldn't you show this to Mr. Celestino, daddy?" Jun inquired.

"He will after I'd show you."

The father of the three pulled a lever. The big, bulky machine sprout out a beam to the ceiling inside the dome. Against the Greek-style ceiling, the beam displayed a magnificent galaxy. It was like looking at outer space. The girls and Digimon gasped at the wonderful scene above them as their father beamed proudly to himself.

"Yeah, very impressive. I'm sure Nathianal will love it." Davis deadpanned, not really interested.

"Just watch this." His dad grinned, pulling another switch. The galaxy changed to something different. An image of Nori, as Sunna Honour.

That got Davis's attention.

{Lucky by Britney Spears}

"This is a story about a girl named Nori." She said as the music started up and she started to sing.

Early morning, she wakes up

Knock, knock, knock on the door

It's time for make up, perfect smile

It's you they're all waiting for

They go…

"Isn't she lovely, this Hollywood girl?"

And they say…

She's so lucky, she's a star

But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking

If there's nothing missing in my life

Then why do these tears come at night?

At the sound of her voice, people had came into the dome, including the scouts and generals, their children, the rest of the V-Hearts and all their friends.

Lost in an image, in a dream

But there's no one there to wake her up

And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning

But tell me what happens when it stops?

They go…

"Isn't she lovely, this Hollywood girl?"

And they say…

She's so lucky, she's a star

But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking

If there's nothing missing in my life

Then why do these tears come at night?

Then Sunna took her sunglasses off and brushed her hair back, showing off her tired face, practically revealing her real identity to the world.

"This is the real me. My name is Nori Motomiya, wife of Masao Motomiya, and mother of Jun, Daisuke and Ahiru." She confessed, much to the shock of her family and anyone who was watching. Masao was expressionless with his arms folded. "My life isn't perfect. Every day, I fight for my family and every child in this dangerous world. I kept them safe, but in the process, I hurt my children by my absence." Her eyes cried. "I'm so sorry, kids. Please know that I love you with all my heart. Please forgive for not being there for you. But know that I'm only trying to protect you."

She intake a deep, sharp breath of air and bellowed.

"Isn't she lucky, this Hollywood girl?"

She is so lucky, but why does she cry?

If there is nothing missing in her life

Why do tears come at night?

She's so lucky, she's a star

But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking

If there's nothing missing in my life

Then why do these tears come at night?

She's so lucky

But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking

If there's nothing missing in my life

Then why do these tears come at night?

The video ended with a thunderous applause, complete with hoots and whistles. The secret was out for the world to know.

"Whoa…" Davis breathed out, totally blown away.

Beside him, his father had a cocky smirk, one that was identical to his son's at times. "Not bad for a hunk of junk, huh son?"

"Whatever…"

Masao scoffed amusedly. "This wasn't what I had in mind when I was your age." His words made Davis look up to him puzzled. "I had it all planned out when I lost my parents. I'm gonna marry a simple girl, make a decent living and live a normal life with no excitement whatsoever, yet I met Nori, a not-so-simple girl -well, she was simple-minded - and there was a change of plans." He then sighed. "Maybe if your mother and I just told you everything instead of keeping you in the dark, none of this would've happened."

"You were just protecting me." Davis surprised himself and his dad with how softly and understanding he spoke.

"We were kids ourselves. Maybe I'm still am one." Masao slowly placed a hand on Davis's shoulder. "Son, can I ask for a second chance? To be a real father? We can take it slow since I have a lot of problems, but to really want to make things right."

Davis stared at him, pondering whatever to agree or reject. But as he found true genuineness and no lies, he smiled warmly. "Sure dad. I'll like that."

Masao looked like he wanted to hug him but settled for a pat on the back. "Don't propose to your girlfriend until you have a steady job and money in the bank." Then Masao altered his gaze to his two daughters. "And you young ladies are not getting married until three days after I'm dead!"

"Ah dad!" Jun scoffed.

"Daddy!" Ahiru moaned.

Delightfully Davis raised his arm. "I second that!"

"Davis, shut up!" Jun snapped.

The Motomiya family were then joined by their friends, engaging in a lively talk about what had just happened.

Back in the Motomiya residence, Nori's amulet laid in a jewelry box, left open and in the moonlight from the window. It shone with a wave, making a sound almost like singing…
