)))))))))))))))))))) Oa ((((((((((((((((((((
Hal rested against the wall next to Sallack's utility chair. The multi-armed alien was typing something on several screens that hovered in front of him. He looked up every once in a while to watch Hal as he rested his back against the cold wall and his feet tapping on the ground over and over. Sallack said, "I have never seen you nervous before, Hal Jordan."
Hal looked up from staring at the ground and his blank face turned into a smirk. "I'm not nervous, just anxious. There is so much we need to tell the Guardians, and some stuff that they'll need to approve of."
"Since when do you let them approve anything you do?"
"Not my idea."
At that moment, John Stewart flew into the hall from the entrance outside. He landed just next to Hal and asked him, "Ready?"
"Yeah. Where are the others?"
"I thought we were running late as it is, so I decided to get this started with you while the others put Romat'Ru at the detention facility off world. They'll catch up by the time we explain everything."
Sallack saw a notification on his screen and said, "The Guardians are ready to see you. Proceed."
As Hal and John walked together, past Sallack and then down the hall, Hal said, "Let's hope they get here fast."
))))))))))))))))))) Oan Prison System (((((((((((((((
At the nearby prison planet, Razer and Cody helped a guard put Romat'Ru in his cell. As they walked away, Romat'Ru yelled out, "You'll rue the day you put me here! You'll—"
"Oh shut up!" Cody yelled back. As they shut the prison barred doors and walked away, Cody muttered. "What a drama queen." Razer laughed his head off after that comment.
They met with Mary, Killowag, and Arisia outside the entrance of the cell hallway. Now that the job was done, it was time to meet up with Hal and John on Oa.
"Where did Arisia go?" Cody asked Mary.
Maru answered. "She went back to Oa because she had tasks she had to do but didn't do them since she was on a mission with us."
"Oan chores?"
"Oan chores.
"You ready guys?" Killowag asked Cody and Razer.
"I'm not afraid." Cody told him. "I mean if Ganthet's chill, then Appa can't be as bad as Mary makes it sound. Right?"
Killowag smirk and patted Cody on the head, "Just wait and see, Sketch."
)))))))))))))))) Guardian's Council Room (((((((((((((((((
"These Yellow Lanterns seem to be a copy of how the Red Lanterns came to be." Appa said after John and Hal finished explaining their predicament of the events of the last week. "Just another rogue emotion lantern group wanting to destroy the Guardians."
"It's not just the Guardians this time." Hal said in earnest. "They're after the whole Corp, and then any planet not under a strong justice system like their own. They think they're doing something right and Sinestro is leading them down that path."
"Sinestro is your prime directive, then." Appa insisted. "He must be stopped at once."
"It's not just Sinestro. All the Yellow Lanterns have a strong belief in their system."
Appa almost growled, "Then what is your end point, 2814?"
"The point is their physical weakness; Something that can limit their yellow lantern power."
"You've been observing their actions Hal Jordan, have you already investigated a weakness?"
Hal looked at John for some support, but the dark skinned man just motioned his head to Appa, telling Hal to say what was on his mind. Hal took a breath and said, "Yes. And it sort of begins about what happened a year ago."
All the Guardians now looked at each other with concern. What happened a year ago to create something that became such a vital tool for their problem now? "Go on." Appa began.
"There is…. Um…..blue…"
"Blue what? Speak up Hal Jordan."
"Well, you see. Last year when you banished Ganthet, he decided to take the chance in creating a new lantern Corp."
Appa almost yelled, "He did what!"
At that moment, the big entrance door opened and Razer, Cody, Arisia, Killowag, and Mary came running in. Mary was the first to speak, "Sorry we're late. We came as fast as we could."
Appa's eyes skimmed the group and they landed on the Blue Lanterns standing among them. "This is outrageous!"
Syad, the one who had been the most calm out of all the Guardians about the news, said, "I think we should hear their side of the story before we make accusations about what's good and bad."
Appa looked at her scornfully and said, "You had more knowledge about Ganthet's ideas then I did. Do you have something to do with this?"
"No." Hal spoke up. "Look just listen Appa. Ganthet founded a Corp group that has the power to increase Green Lantern energy and overpower yellow energy. It can even deplete completely the energy of a red lantern."
"That should explain your red lantern friend's conversion." Appa commented.
Razer rolled his eyes, knowing he was the one Appa mentioned. Cody stepped forward and said, "Ple-please sir. If you can just see we are only here to help—"
"I will not waist our time on a power that has not been explored."
"It has been explored." Hal insisted. "We've seen it work with our eyes."
"The creation of other lantern corps using other based emotions is an unstable and—"
"What about you guys? You came up with the idea of using Will to power rings. Surely there must have been risks in it that you ignored." Hal interrupted.
"The power of Green Energy is the most stable, that's why the Corp is based only on willpower. Anything else can prove only disastrous. Parallax is prime example of that, and Sinestro working under him only makes my point more reasonable."
"But these guys are on our side." John finally cut in to say something. "Razer and Cody are our friends and have helped us through these last few days with figuring out on how to approach these Yellow Lanterns. Their home base planet was even attacked—"
"Their home base planet?" Appa yelled. "Now they have their own base! How many Blue Lanterns are there?"
"Not much." Killowag mumbled.
"Excuse me?" Appa asked surprised.
"There are five or so of us." Razer answered. "Our intent is not to create an army. We are just instillers of hope."
Appa shook his head. "Hope…"
Hal explained. "Ganthet's intent was to just spread it out, not make it an infestation to the point of corruption."
"I know what Ganthet's intent was." Appa growled. "He never stopped raving about the very idea of it since he meet that hum—" Appa stopped talking and his eyes quickly went over to where Mary stood. The girl gave no hint of knowing what he was talking about. Appa cleared his throat and said, "But that doesn't matter. You can plainly see how in the past this has never worked out."
"Maybe it's rash, but this time it's worked." Hal persisted. "Just look." Hal pointed at Razer and Cody, and then he signaled the blue lanterns to do something. Cody and Razer looked at each other, and then nodded together. Suddenly, the Green Lanterns in the room began to glow green, their suites shining and their eyes blazing white. Hal made a small ball of energy and let it fly over him. It exploded in a massive cloud, not dangerously enough to hurt anyone but big enough for the Guardians to see the demonstration of power. They all gasped and began to mutter among themselves.
As the Green Lanterns light slowly dimmed and they were back to normal, Appa was the first to say something. "I cannot deny that these Blue Lanterns and their power are strong enough to give you more energy, but there can be side effects that you have not yet discovered."
"What side effects?" Hal asked angrily, shaking his head, "This argument is pointless. What's it going to take to convince you that this is the best option we have?" Appa didn't answer but looked on with a glare. Hal sighed and said, "Fine, then I'm just going to have to use the last resort."
"Come again?" Syad asked.
John leaned into Hal and whispered, "This wasn't part of what we were supposed to say."
"I make up as I go." Hal whispered back.
"Of course you did."
"What do you mean Hal Jordan?" Appa asked.
Hal stepped forward and said, "I have an idea, and I think it's the only way I'm able to prove that we need the Blue Lantern's help."
"And that would be…."
"Do you have an extra ship?"
A.N: Hal, what are you up to….. Anyway so Now that Ramat'Ru is in jail, everything goes as planned, not really. Appa seems to never have a chance of being convinced with words, so what will Hal do? Find out next Wednesday, for sure, because I'm back in full swing. I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
