She wanted revenge. She tried so hard to follow Hiccup's advice but she couldn't. There were consequences for what she was doing but she couldn't think of them right now. She just wanted revenge for the pain that she made her-them feel.

"Ahhh!" was she screaming? It seemed like it.

A fist hit her square in the face. Her vision went cloudy and suddenly she was on her back with hands holding hers down.

"Stop!" Camicazi shouted trying to keep her down.

"No!" Astrid screamed before she threw her head forwards and gave her a headbutt.

Camicazi fell back with a scream of pain. She stood up clumsily, just as Astrid.

"I won't," she couldn't let her get away with it.

888 The Morning Before 888

It was a windy day yet sunny. One the last of the year before winter came to wrap them in her cold blanket. She could hear the seagulls and the sounds coming from the dragons as they fished to fill themselves. She felt rather content as she sat by the docks and read another of Hiccup's letters. She laughed as he told her of his latest adventures and mishaps. She wished she could be there with them. She also had come to accept that she was Bog Burglar and because of that she would not always be able to be with her friends.

She couldn't wait for the Last Harvest celebration. She would get to see her father again and all of her old friends. She was also writing to Ruffnut who didn't forget to mention every single crazy thing they did, unlike Hiccup. Hiccup had been a little out of control for a while, but it seemed his dragon had knocked some sense into him. She didn't doubt this to be true.

"Want to go train?" Camicazi asked behind her.

Astrid had almost jumped. She hadn't heard her approach, but this was not uncommon with her sister. She placed the letters on her pouch and turned. She did her best to hide what she felt. Her head and chest hurt with the restrain she was placing on herself. She wanted to show her sister that she could hurt her just as bad.

"Sorry," but she didn't sound sorry at all, "Groa is giving me archery lessons" and then she started to walk away.

"Oh, okay" Camicazi said trying not to sound disappointed, "what about burgling tonight? I heard Dagur got a new set of knives I would like to get my han-" but Astrid didn't let her finish.

"Fine," she was fast to say, but couldn't hide her frustration completely. She knew burgling was something she could not stop Camicazi from doing, so she was stuck as her body guard.

Maybe she should go back to Berk. It would be so much easier than dealing with all of this. Her chest hurt every time she saw her sister act as if she had done nothing wrong. Was she really that egotistical as to think what she had done was not wrong?

She stopped when she heard steps running after her. They were small steps and she was surprised to find she knew they belonged to Camicazi. Well, this was a first.

Camicazi stopped short a few steps from her. Astrid could almost hear her fists clenching. It was not that difficult to make her sister loose her temper. She had to admit she was surprised she had lasted this long.

"What's with the cold treatment? What did I do?" her teeth greeted. She was not a patient person, but she had tried. She knew that Astrid was writing back to Hiccup again, it was hard to miss when she sat laughed on her own. She seemed so much happier now, all but for when she was around.

"I don't know what you are talking about" was her response before she continued walking.

"Like Hel you don't!" Camicazi stumped after her, "you have been like this since we came back!" she tried her best to keep her shouts from reaching the village. She still had an image to keep.

Astrid stopped dead on her tracks, "do you really want to know?" she turned on her heel and glared hard.

"Yes! I am tired of almost having to beg you to talk to me!" but she really didn't. She knew already, but she was just sick and tired of her treating her like a pest.

"You knew about the letter," and she said it. The next breath she took was a shaky one. The pain in her chest was lifted a little.

"You… you mean the one Hiccup sent you?" this was of the few times she hated being right.

"No, the one you used to replace his!" she burned it the night they returned to the island. Every time she saw those words, after knowing who actually wrote them, she would have the urge to hurt someone or something. The strains she placed on herself as a warrior had started to become undone. She couldn't allow that to happen, but right then she felt them fall apart.

"I did not do such thing!" she shouted not caring who heard her.

"You are a terrible liar" Astrid held her head high as she said these words.

"And you know nothing if you think I would do something so low! Forget about the burgling!" Camicazi stumped off towards the village, then stopped and continued shouting, "Also forget about being my bodyguard! I will find someone else!"

"Fine with me! I was getting tired of it anyways!" she shouted back.

"Fine!"

"Fine!"

"Argh!" and she continued to stomp off towards the village.

888

She knew it was going to happen before it did. The string broke and one of its ends lashed back at her with revenge. Unlike the previous times, it actually broke the skin of her cheek.

"Son of a troll!" she dropped the box and touched her cheek. It stung badly.

"You will never hit anything if you keep breaking the bow strings" Groa said with a sigh as she picked the bow.

"Sorry, I don't think I can do this today" Astrid said returning her the arrow. She passed a hand through her short hair looking for tangles that were not there.

"That's a first, is something bothering you?" the woman asked as she replaced the string, "Camicazi perhaps?"

Her eyes looked anywhere but at her, "you know we are sisters, right?"

"Hard not to notice" Groa laughed out loud before saying in a gentler tone, "but I though you two were getting along"

"I don't want to talk about it" Astrid muttered feeling like a child.

"Is that so?" and Groa thought she was acting like a child, but it wasn't rare. Astrid was young after all.

"I can't" she cleared her throat after it came out like a little squeak, "it's personal"

"Is it about a boy?" she asked slowly and when she saw Astrid fidget she raised her eyebrows. It had to be about a boy after spending so many days with three male heirs. Only the gods knew to what circumstances they exposed her to.

"What? No!" but she could feel the color rising on her cheeks. Okay, Hiccup was a boy, but he was her friend and that was all! She was also a Shield Maiden and Bog Burglar at top of that. Their dogma was all about being independent of men and the emotions they might bring out of them. It blinded them as warriors.

"It is! That explains a lot" she leaned down to get a better look at the girl's flushed face, "so, which one is it? I think Mogadon's kid was the better looking of the lot. The others were… well not that sane or Viking like"

"What are yo- is not about a boy! Is about trust! She lied to me!" Astrid screamed into the skies. Thank the gods they had decided to practice in the woods.

Groa decided to drop the teasing right then. Men were nothing to them when it came to their tribe. Mistrust was something they tried to deal with right away, for how could you fight with confidence if you could not trust those who fought besides you, "are you sure? Maybe she is telling the truth"

"She is a terrible liar" Astrid responded as she sat with her back against a tree. She felt exhausted after that outburst.

"That she is, but if she is, she might have her reasons" Groa knew that of all the girls in the tribe Camicazi was the one that had the most trouble getting along with other. But she had found a friend on Astrid. She wondered how their heir was taking Astrid's mistrust.

"Make my life a living hell?" Astrid scowled as she stood up again.

"Believe me, if she wanted to make your life hell, you would have already gone back to Berk" she handed Astrid the bow and arrow back, "now practice; you can't keep charging like a Gronckle in every situation"

"What?" was her outraged reply.

888

Charging like a Gronkle? Her? Ridiculous. She was great with the axe and there was no doubt about it. She could also handle the sword and the spear, but the axe was just her favorite. Not only it could land powerful blows if you were not the largest warrior around, but also give your enemy quite a shock when they saw how fearless and close you were to them.

The bow was an okay weapon, but not her favorite; she thought as she was walked towards the barracks. Groa had made her practice until the sun started to set. Her fingers ached. She went to lie on her bed and closed her eyes. Outside the night had just started and not far she could hear the buzzing of the great hall. Just about everyone was there and she usually enjoyed being there but not tonight. She needed to rest; she needed to be apart from everyone for a little while.

"Astrid!" she was shaken awake by one of the other girls who shared the barracks, "what are you doing here?"

"This is my bed," she turned her back to her.

"Bu-but Camicazi went to the Berserker Island! Why are you not with her?" they all had seen her brag at the great hall about how she was going to steal Dagur's daggers. In the past they would have been very worried but they trusted Astrid to keep her safe. She decided to go to bed early never expecting to find Astrid here.

Astrid had forgotten all about Camicazi's latest burgling plans. Then again, she said she didn't want her as her bodyguard anymore. It was not her problem.

"Astrid?" the girl asked after a long silence.

"Thyra, right?" she asked still not getting up.

"Yeah?" Thyra asked, her hopes rising.

"Leave me alone" and she pulled a blanket over herself. Thyra stood back is if slapped. Okay, no one had missed things were not right between those two, but surely Astrid couldn't be so mad as to let their heir risk her life like that.

Astrid hoped she got captured and placed into a dark and nearly inescapable dungeon. Surely Oswald wouldn't let it go farther than that no matter how much his son begged for blood. A new alliance was surging through their tribes so they knew that they couldn't really hurt the Bog Burglar heir. She would get a good scare and that would teach her to keep her sneaky fingers to herself. But what if Oswald didn't make it in time? She curled in bed before she heard the other girls who shared the barracks. They were trying to decide what to do about Camicazi.

"-the best" was that Dagrun?

"But we are talking Dagur here!" Thyra reminded them.

"She has been burgling from him for weeks now! What does it matter?" Siri said throwing her arms into the air. Why did they have to look after their crazy heir?

"But she was with… well you know" Thyra said looking in Astrid's direction. She was still lying with her back to them. For all they knew she had really gone back to sleep.

"Do we really need to ask that Hooligan to do her job?" Hege, the roughest and largest of the girls said. She didn't like Astrid from the beginning, but had kept her dislike to herself only until then.

"Shush!" Thyra looked at Astrid with worried eyes. Yeah, Hege was rough and large, but Astrid was the most skilled of them all. She respected and feared her because of that.

"I don't care if she hears me!" Hege shouted as she stumped like a big ox towards Astrid, "A Hooligan will always be a Hoolig-," then the blade of Astrid's trusted axe was a touch away from her neck.

"Keep your voice down," she said as she pushed her body upright, but still keeping her axe against Hege's neck, "or better yet, shut the hell up"

"Or… or what?" Hege couldn't help demanding to know.

Astrid looked at the other girls. Dagrun was hiding behind Thyra and Siri, she was the youngest of all the girls in the barracks. Thyra looked like a bundle of nerves ready to explode. Siri was giving her a dirty look.

"Fine," she sighed lowering her axe, but not without first giving Hege a warning glare, "I will go get her, but this will be the last time"

888

The moon was but a sliver of ice in the sky. It was so small you could barely see it. She had thought this a good omen. Burgling was her pride; no one could do it better than her. She was so small and slim. She had no trouble going through those small spaces no one else could or compare to her agility.

TWACK! TWACK!

She had been so wrong to think this was going to be a good night for burgling. She had gotten into Dagur's room looking for the daggers, which actually never existed, only to be surrounded by a crowd of angry Berserkers. Berserkers were already scary even when they were no angry. They always carried scary and blood encrusted weapons, chains wrapped around their bodies to keep them from going berserk on each other, and usually communicated with growls like wolves. So imagine the fear that ran through Camicazi as she stared at more than a dozen of them who had been waiting patiently for her.

At top of that there was Dagur with a malicious smile among them. He had planned everything and made sure his father was not in the island when she decided to come visit them. This time it was more than a simple revenge. Dagur wanted war and he wanted it bad. Here and now he had the perfect excuse to start it. He knew Bertha would be furious once he killed his daughter and would declare war immediately. Since they (the Berserkers) had a strong friendship with the Meatheads they would help them without a doubt. Now, there was the matter of the Hooligans who had recently ended their long feud with the Bog Burglars.

Here it got tricky. He had observed Stoick since he was a little deranged kid, not just because the man was a monster when fighting. No, he was crazy but he wasn't stupid. He knew Stoick would side with who he thought was on the right. He was a man bound by honor. A large part of that decision would depend on the heir of the Hooligans, Hiccup. He didn't miss the crush the lad had on (who would be) the remaining daughter and new heir of the Bog Burglars. Not that he wanted the Hooligans on their side, but he learned not to overestimate that boy. So, he would have him killed, blame the Bog Burglars, and then the Hooligans would follow their lead blindly.

He didn't doubt Stoick would be too heartbroken to actually care what happened. He was probably as soft as his old man, but was better at hiding it.

But for all this to work, he had to kill the little burglar that dared enter his home for the very last time.

TWACK! TWACK!

Camicazi hadn't wasted a second more and ran under the legs of the Berserkers. They were all such bulky men that when they tried to turn they bumped into each other. They started pushing each other out of the way trying to get to the little burglar.

"Kill her!" Dagur pointed his sword in her direction. She was climbing down the window ledge.

The first Berserker that saw her swung his sword down, ready to cut her little burgling fingers. She kicked against the wall, throwing her body into the free air before the sword could do away with them. She flipped back in the air and landed crouched.

"This is not over!" Dagur shouted from the window as they all tried to get through it, "after her!"

She ran through the main square towards the pier where she had hidden her dragon. It was her only chance of escaping. Then she spotted more Berserkers as they jumped off what she had thought to be empty boats. She skid to a stop before looking around. It seemed the bloodiest and meanest of the Berserkers(who were plenty) had decided to help with the start of a new war. She turned to the only place where she could not spot Berserkers and ran in that direction.

If Berserkers were able of humor not relating to battles and bloodshed they would have laughed. The Berserker woods were among the most dangerous in the Viking archipelago and they knew how to move among its treacherous paths better than a Bog Burglars would ever hope to.

TWACK! TWACK!

And that's how she ended here, looking up at the sky probably for the very last time. She had almost been caught by the Berserkers, so she decided in a desperate attempt to get time, to climb up a tall tree. Once Dagur made it to the spot he personally started to swing his axe against the dark trunk.

"See it my way Camicazi! With your death, honor will be restored to my tribe!" he cheered before the Berserker warriors with him started howling like wolves.

"You are crazy!" she shouted at top of her lungs. Yeah, honor was important but not like this!

"I will kill your mother" TWACK! "Your sister" TWACK! TWACK! "And everyone you ever cared about it after you, aren't I the kindest?" and he laughed until she could only feel ice in her veins.

"Like you could beat my mother and sister! Don't make me laugh! We Bog Burglars are the toughest in the archipelago, admit it already stupid boy!" and she did her best to laugh but her chest was starting to hurt so it was a very short laugh.

"If the fall doesn't kill you I will!" he shouted as he swung the axe again, "I will cut your head off and send it to your mother in a nicely wrapped box!"

TWACK! TWACK!

She could feel the tree tremble all the way where held on to for dear life.

"Hey," she heard a familiar voice. She was probably dreaming because there was no way she would be here, "hey!" and then she looked up. Astrid was at top of Thorn right above her and with them the dragon she used to arrive, "are you coming or not?"

Below Daggur was hitting the tree faster and faster and cursing. Camicazi jumped off the tree and to the back of the dragon she had arrived on.

"Maybe another time Dagur!" she called before she laughed.

"I will gut you alive!" he shouted at her before they flew off.

They flew for a long time in silence.

"The dragons are tired, let's rest in that island" she said pointing to a small island which seemed harmless enough. Camicazi followed Astrid to a sandy beach. She un-mounted and turned to thank her sister, but all she saw was Astrid's fist up-close.

She stumbled back holding her check and glaring at Astrid "what was that for!"

"Ahhh!" Astrid pounced on her like a cat on a canary but Camicazi was not going down so easily. Once she was on the ground with Astrid at top of her she used her legs to throw her back.

"Stop it!" she shouted as she stood but Astrid was fast. She launched again at her, but this time Camicazi bent down evading her hit before she landed one of her own on Astrid's face. Her sister fell back and she was fast to restrain her, "stop!" she shouted at top of her lungs.

"No!" she shouted before Camicazi felt a horrible pain on her head. She fell back but scrambled to stand up. Everything was moving in an odd way, "I won't!" Astrid sneered at her holding her own head, "not until you apologize for what you did!"

"What?" she asked still confused. Where was she?

"For switching the letters!" how could she forget!

"I didn't do it!" she said closing her eyes, everything was so fuzzy.

"Liar!" Astrid felt her hand reach for her axe. She would make her apologize even if it meant she would get kicked out of the Bog Burglars.

"I did not do it!" Camicazi insisted throwing her hands into the air, "I swear it was not me!"

"Then who!" sneered Astrid approaching her like a predator.

"It was mother!" cried Camicazi and once she was able to make up Astrid's shocked face she fell back on the sand, "it was mother, alright?" she said tiredly, "mother did it"

She heard Astrid fall on the sand not far from her. The fight and fury was all gone out of her.

Author's Note: So… it wasn't Camicazi. Yeah… I don't like making things easy for your guys to guess (ku ku ku). Next chapter will be Camicazi's.
