Chapter Fifty Five: Maud Pie

Vegito was walking down the road on a rather sunny day, on his way to meet his friends. Ordinarily he would be training, but today was yet another important day for one of his friends. Pinkie Pie's sister Maud would be coming for a visit, and the pink Pony was obviously overjoyed. The Saiyan was happy for her, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little worried.

Living with one energetic Pony was bad enough, but having a second would be even worse. He obviously cared deeply about Pinkie, and valued her as friend, but even she could get on his nerves sometimes. That didn't happen as much anymore, probably because he had gotten used to her antics. Still, having essentially another Pinkie running around could lead to an annoying day, and most likely a bad headache. Despite that he was determined to be there, and would put up with Maud for his friend's sake.

He may have been worried but not that worried. He was a Saiyan warrior that could handle anything, including Ponies. What was one more Pony? Besides, he only assumed that his friend's sister would be like her. There was no telling if Maud was a hyperactive ball of energy, or normal like anypony else. He was hoping for the latter... but it was probably going to be the former.

Regardless of how meeting this Pony might go Vegito promised Pinkie he would be there. And so he continued down the path, toward where his friends were gathered. He eventually came within sight of them, and was spotted almost instantly. The first thing he noticed was the lack of Pinkie Pie, but he figured she was getting her sister from the station. The second was Rarity's large and ridiculous hat.

"Vegito you made it." Twilight smiled as she trotted over to him.

"I told Pinkie I would be here didn't I?"

"Well yeah, but ah thought ya might try and get out of this somehow." Applejack stated.

"I will admit the thought of another Pinkie Pie is terrifying... but I promised I would meet Maud and that's what I intend to do."

Rarity scoffed. "Well you could have at least put on something nicer, instead of your worn training outfit."

His outfit was torn quite a bit from his previous training session, but it hadn't been as bad as this friend was making it out to be. "You're right, maybe next time I'll just stick a bunch of rocks on my head."

Rainbow Dash snickered in response, earning herself a glare from the Unicorn.

"I'm just glad you could join us." Fluttershy smiled.

"So anyway, what's the deal with these 'rock candy necklaces'?" He heard Pinkie briefly, and rapidly, babble on about rock candy necklaces. Perhaps had his friend spoke more clearly, and didn't try and say everything in one sentence, he might have understood her better.

"It's a tradition Pinkie and Maud started, where they make a bunch of rock candy and then make each other necklaces." The Alicorn explained.

While the idea of a necklace made out of candy seemed kind of silly he could appreciate the sentiment. Speaking of a bond between siblings, the Saiyan began thinking back to his own siblings. Perhaps he should visit Tarble soon as it had been a while since he'd seen him. He briefly considered paying Raditz a visit, but he assumed his deceased brother didn't want to see him. The feeling was mutual.

"We're heeeere!" Pinkie stood on the nearby hill and waved to her friends, and after that she proceeded to bounce over to them. Despite the fact that she said we're she was the only Pony that could be seen.

Twilight felt confused and so she went to intercept her energetic friend. "Where's Maud?"

"She's coming!" The pink Pony cheered.

They all looked over to where their friend had come from, but they saw nopony approaching.

Vegito obviously felt someone over there, and their ki felt similar to that of Pinkie's.

Upon using her senses Rainbow too felt somepony approaching, and they were surprisingly strong.

"She'll be here soon, she's just a little slow. I asked Gummy to stay with her in case she got lost!"

After several long moments they finally saw somepony in the distance, and said Pony seemed to be in no rush.

The rainbow-maned Pegasus leaned over to Rarity. "Is she even moving?"

"We're over here, Maud!" Pinkie yelled, as if her sister couldn't clearly see them.

Maud drew closer to the group before eventually stopping, letting everypony get a clear view of her. Her coat was a bluish-gray, and her eyes a light turqoise. Her straight mane was a grayish-blue violet in color. Completing her look was a bluish shirt-dress thing, with a black belt around it. Not only did her appearance set her apart from her sister, but the way she carried herself. Her expression was neutral, and her eyes half-lidded.

A few moments later Maud bent down to examine a rock, which also involved smelling it. "Hm. Sedimentary." She noted in a deadpan tone.

Vegito found himself both surprised and happy as he stared at the Pony sniffing a rock. Thankfully it would seem Maud wasn't as hyperactive and loud as her sister, which would result in fewer headaches. That being said, he was still confused as to why she was doing that. He remembered Pinkie saying she grew up on a Rock Farm, which would include her family. Just what exactly did they do on that farm, and did they all like to stop and smell the rocks?

Rainbow Dash too was confused. "Huh?"

"This is a sedimentary rock." She answered as she picked it up.

After several seconds Twilight responded. "That's... really fascinating, isn't it, everypony? We're just so thrilled you could come for a visit before your big trip. Pinkie Pie has told us so much about you. I'm Twilight, and this is Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Vegito."

Pinkie then moved closer to her sister. "He's the space alien I was telling you about."

Maud found herself staring the odd creature, who seemed to be mirroring her actions. She had heard he was a powerful warrior from another planet, who had come to Equestria to 'become bestest friends with everypony'. Apparently Vegito was strong, very strong, much like a rock. At least that's what her sister told her.

The Saiyan was feeling a little creeped out by her gazing.

"...Well, um, we're ever so glad to meet you." Fluttershy said, breaking apart the awkward silence.

Applejack nodded. "We're just gonna have the best time!"

Maud only blinked.

More confusion followed before Rarity approached the Earth Pony. "Pinkie Pie tells me you share my love for fashion."

"I'm really into expressing myself through my wardrobe." The dull Pony stated.

"A-and what is the delightful frock you're wearing now saying?"

"It doesn't talk. It's a dress."

The Unicorn hadn't expected such an answer, and as such wasn't sure how to respond. "Oh, yes, of course, I, I just meant, the frock is, just..." She eventually gave up and rejoined her friends.

Not a moment later Applejack's pet barked and excitedly ran around Maud, giving her an opportunity to break the silence. "Uh, so this here's Winona. That's Owlowiscious, Tank, Opal, and Angel. Pinkie Pie told us you have a pet, too."

"He's in my pocket."

Hearing that had Fluttershy excited. "Oh, you have a pocket pet? Like a tiny mouse? Or a baby bird? Or a trained butterfly?"

"It's a rock." Maud said as she reached into her pocket and revealed her pet to everypony. "His name is Boulder."

At this point Vegito was beyond confused. It was one thing for her to enjoy rocks, but to have one as a pet? Perhaps he shouldn't have been surprised that Pinkie Pie's sister would be weird, in her own way of course. And while that wasn't a bad thing it just hadn't been what he expected, and now he was wondering if that was a good thing or not.

"This is going to be the best, most awesome, funnest week ever! I can't wait for us all to become bestest friends!"

While the pink Pony might have been eager the rest of her friends weren't as optimistic. Their friend's sister hadn't turned out quite as they imagined, and becoming bestest friends seemed rather difficult. It wasn't the best first impression, but that didn't mean they could judge her based on that. With that in mind they would all put forth their best efforts to get along with Maud.

That being said the big picnic finally went underway, and everything seemed to be starting off great. Maud was a little quiet, so it was hard to tell if she was having a good time or not. Her expression didn't seem to change either, so that made it even more difficult to ascertain her mood. She was however snacking on a sandwich, and she hadn't voiced any displeasure, so she must have been having at least an okay time.

"Maud? Would you like to try one of Granny Smith's famous apple spiced muffins?"

Said Pony moved closer to the basket of muffins and took a whiff, and then took a bite. What she hadn't realized was a rock from Rarity's hat had fallen into the mix, and as such she ended up taking a bite out of it. Surprisingly her teeth didn't completely shatter, but what might have been even more surprising was the fact that she actually managed to chew and swallow it.

'These Ponies must have really strong teeth.' Vegito mused to himself while snacking on his own muffin.

"Oh, uh, heh, that's not– Um..." Applejack's attempts to tell Maud what she was actually eating didn't work, as the dull Pony seemed content with her rock.

"It's crunchy."

Pinkie then took a bite out of a real muffin. "Maud's right! They are crunchy! Yum!"

"So, uh, Pinkie Pie tells us you like games." Rainbow said, hoping to move on from the rock eating.

"Boulder and I sometimes play a game called 'Camouflage'. It's kind of like hide and seek but way more intense."

There was a slight pause before the Pegasus responded. "Awesome?"

And so the game of Camouflage began, and each Pony, and Saiyan, set out to find Boulder. Maud had hidden Boulder somewhere among a large area of rocks, and all they had to do was find him. It was very simple, but despite the simplicity they were having a hard time finding Boulder. Mostly because they were trying to find a rock among other rocks, and that they all looked the same. It had quickly become tedious, and some of their patience was wearing thin. Still they had promised to get along with Maud, and so they had no choice but to keep looking.

Vegito had given up long ago, as the task was proving to be impossible. Why couldn't Maud have gotten a regular pet like a normal Pony, something he could sense? Instead she chose a rock... a rock. And now he and his friends were trying to find said rock among lots of other rocks. It was madness, and after a certain point he just stopped caring.

Twilight lifted up a rock with her magic, but found nothing. "Any luck?"

"I truly wish I'd spent more time with Boulder, because I'm having a very hard time remembering what he looks like." Fluttershy noted.

"It's like lookin' for a pebble in a haystack." Applejack added.

"More like a pile of pebbles." Rarity corrected as she walked over to her friend. As she then bent down to inspect a rock one from her hat fell to the ground.

"We'll you don't have to make it harder."

"Ugh! I give up! this is impossible!" The Unicorn yelled.

"It'll hurt Maud's feelings if we all stop playing." Twilight said. "Besides, look how much fun Pinkie Pie's having."

Pinkie was excitedly running around, all the while pointing at different rocks. "Is this him? Is this him? Is this him? Is this him?"

Vegito groaned. "When isn't Pinkie having fun? She could turn even the most mundane chore into a good time. Come on Twilight, even you can see how maddening this is?"

Despite his points she still felt it was right to keep playing. "Just a little longer, okay?"

"Uh, alright, fine..."

"Really?"

Rarity's, Fluttershy's, and Vegito's responses were inaudible.

Just then a miracle happened. "Found him."

While her friends were relieved Pinkie was excited, and quickly ran over to her sister. "Oh! Where was he?"

"He was hiding in my pocket."

The Saiyan slapped his forehead.

"Oh, come on!" Rainbow yelled.

Angel then ran over to Fluttershy to get her attention, and once he had it he pointed over toward the animals.

"I don't mean to interrupt, but we really should get these little critters home. It's getting awfully late, and they've had a very busy day."

"Maud and I had better get going too. I want her to taste the rock candy we're gonna use for our best friends necklaces! Aw, yeah!" With that Pinkie and her sister went on their way.

After a few moments Applejack finally spoke up. "She sure is... different from what I expected."

"We spent all day digging in the dirt, and he was in her pocket the whole time?!" Rainbow exclaimed.

"On the bright side, Boulder seemed really sweet." Fluttershy noted.

"He's a rock!"

Vegito sighed. "I'm kind of with Rainbow on this one. Our time spent with Maud was a complete waste. We learned next to nothing about her and then spent hours searching for a pebble that we were never going to find. I'm not saying we can't be friends with her, she's just not making it easy."

"I'm sure Maud was just nervous about meeting all of us." The Alicorn stated.

"Maybe she was just acting a little 'off' because she was shy or somethin'." Applejack added.

"Exactly. It must be awfully intimidating to meet all of us at once, especially since we're already such good friends." Her friends could agree with her on that. "Maybe if we spend some time with her one-on-one to try to get to know her better, I'm sure we'll be making those best friend rock candy necklaces in no time."

The Saiyan still felt a little unsure. While he wanted to give Maud a chance she didn't leave the greatest impression on him. He didn't seem to have much in common with her, and she didn't even seem interested in making friends in the first place. Then again, he hadn't made the best impression when he first arrived. In fact he had nothing in common with the Ponies, yet they somehow became the best of friends.

With all of that in mind he figured he shouldn't abandon hope yet; one way or another he would become friends with Maud.

The next day Pinkie Pie and Maud set out to begin the friendship making process. Yesterday had gone off perfectly, at least Pinkie thought so, and today was another day. Her friends had all met her amazing sister, and now they were going to become the best of friends. A little one on one time would be perfect, as it gave each of her friends a chance to really bond with Maud. With that in mind they went to see Rarity first.

"Where shall we start? I've chosen a few fabrics that I think will be stunning with y–" Rarity paused when she realized Maud wasn't paying attention to her.

"Choices, choices, choices!" The pink Pony cheered as she bounced over to her sister.

"...Of course, if you don't see anything that speaks to you, I would be happy to suggest–"

"I like this one." Maud held up a small, filthy rag.

Rarity laughed. "Pinkie Pie didn't tell us you were so funny!"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, well, it's just... I believe that is a dishtowel." The Unicorn saw how disinterested Maud looked, and how happy Pinkie looked, so she decided to roll with it.. "B-b-but it does go very well with your complexion. I'm sure I could work my magic and turn it into something fabulous."

"Rarity and my sister working together to design something amazing! This is the best day ever!" Pinkie exclaimed as she hugged her sister tight.

A few seconds later the Unicorn came back with several scraps of fabric. "Perhaps I could sew all of these together and make you something you'd like."

"No thanks. One is enough." Maud said as she took her dishtowel and placed it upon her back.

"Doesn't Maud make the coolest scarves?"

"Quite..."

Pinkie and Maud's next stop was Fluttershy, and their bonding activity would be a nice walk through the forest. It would be perfect! Her friend would be totally relaxed in that setting, and gave her plenty of opportunities to talk about animals. Meanwhile her sister would learn so much, and then the two Ponies would become the best of friends. Absolutely nothing could go wrong!

Fluttershy happily strolled along the path until a hummingbird flew in her face. "Hello there, Hummingway. I'm ever so happy to see you."

Not a moment later the pink Pony ran over to her friend. "What's he saying?"

"He says hello, and he's happy to see us too."

"I wish I could speak hummingbird. Humm! Hum-m-m-m-m, hum!"

As her friend bounced away Fluttershy noticed Maud had stopped to look at something, and as she approached her she learned what it was. "These spiders only live in Ponyville, and even though they may look a teeny bit scary, they're actually very sweet and help keep other, more dangerous insects away!"

"I was looking at the rock."

"Oh."

"Alright Rainbow, hit me."

It was yet another training session for Rainbow Dash, and it was quickly becoming her favorite part of the day. There was nothing better than a good workout, especially when she did it with Vegito... and Scootaloo... although Daring Do might have been her number one favorite partner. It was even better these last few sessions, as the Pegasus had been practicing more with ki. Right now she was working on shooting off energy blasts, which she was all too eager to master. It wasn't that she couldn't unleash them, she just needed more practice doing it. The mare was slowly getting better, but she still had a bit to go. Luckily she had the the greatest teacher in the world coaching her.

With a deep exhale Rainbow was ready. She lifted up her front left hoof and aimed it at her mentor, all the while focusing her energy. After a few moments a rainbow sphere of ki formed around her hoof, growing slightly larger before settling down. She then thrust her hoof forward, launching the ball at her target. It hit right in the chest, and although it did nothing it hit right on the mark.

She then fired off another one, and then another one, and another one. Shooting off so many in such a short span was going to tire her out quicker, but that was the point. If she was ever going to build up her stamina she needed to push herself, and so she had no choice but to go all out. Several more moments went by before she stopped and fell to the floor, having worn herself out.

He smirked. "Impressive, much better than last time." He walked over and fed her half a Senzu Bean, restoring her energy.

"Thanks, but I still can't wait until I can fire off more of those. And I know, it'll happen eventually just be patient." The Pony knew her teacher well, and could predict what he would say sometimes.

"You're really learning." He praised.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and the Saiyan went to open it. Once the door was open he saw Pinkie and Maud standing before him.

"Hiya Vegi!" Pinkie Pie greeted before catching sight of her other friend. "Hi Rainbow Dash!"

"Hey Pinkie." Rainbow replied.

"So what are you two doing here?" The Saiyan asked.

A bight smile came to Pinkie's face. "Well Maud and I were having the best day ever with the rest of our friends. First Maud and Rarity worked on some great fashion ideas, then we went for a nature walk with Fluttershy. At Twilight's Maud read her some of her poetry, and then we helped Applejack make cider. That just left two of my bestest friends in the whole wide world! Since neither of you were home I decided to check your ship, and I found both of you! Isn't that great?!"

Several moments passed as the Saiyan stared blankly at his friend. "Uh... yeah."

"So anyway, Maud and I are here to spend some real quality time with you two! Right Maud?" She glanced back at her sister, who was merely staring back at her. "Mind if we come in?"

"I suppose not." He stepped aside and let her inside.

"Come on Maud, don't be shy."

Maud had found herself staring at the 'spaceship', as her sister called it. Apparently it was capable of leaving the planet, a concept which the Earth Pony still had a hard time understanding. The materials used to build it weren't like anything Maud had seen. It was a marvel, and she would be lying if she had she wasn't a little bit intrigued.

She then saw her sister enthusiastically waving her to come in, and so she hesitantly stepped onto the ramp. It felt cold to the touch, and was even more solid than a rock. As she walked up the ramp she slowly saw more of the inside, and the wonders didn't cease. Obviously the colors weren't anything new, but it all just looked so shiny. There were many strange objects and symbols as well, although mostly on the raised platform in front of her.

Pinkie smiled a little as she saw her sister gaze around at everything, not even trying to hide her surprise. "See Maud, I told you it was awesome!"

"Like what you see?"

Maud turned to the source of the voice, and saw Vegito standing near her. Up close she could really see his muscles, which was surely the result of years of hard work. Apparently he was a warrior, although with a body like that he could have passed for a rock farmer. A small blush came to her face before she turned away.

He then let out a nervous laugh. "I hope this isn't overwhelming you."

"I'm fine." She answered as she continued to take in her surroundings.

"Oh I know! Let's go back outside, so you can see how strong my friends are!" Pinkie suggested as she bounced over to the exit.

Rainbow smirked. "Heh, alright. I just hope Maud doesn't get too blown away by my sheer awesomeness!"

The Saiyan shook his head as he followed after them, sensing Maud not far behind. Once outside he noticed his student picking up a good sized rock.

"I don't know if you've heard but I've been studying how to control my ki, and not to brag but I've become pretty good at it. Here, hold this rock above your head."

"Oki Doki Loki!" The pink mare happily agreed as she hoisted the rock high above her head.

There was a small amount of worry on Vegito's part, but he quickly realized he could easily save Pinkie if things didn't go well.

After a few moments Rainbow Dash was ready, and aimed a hoof at the rock. She once again poured all of her concentration into her inner energy, and was finding it easier to do so each time. Not long after she pushed that energy out, and a rainbow-colored orb shot out of her extended limb. Her attack struck the target and made it explode, showering her friend in dust and small pebbles.

"WOW! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen!"

"You really think so?"

"TOTALLY! I mean, you just blew up a rock!"

As her sister was babbling on Maud was still trying to make sense of what happened. What was that rainbow-colored light, and how did the rock explode? Needing an explanation, she turned to the only one not talking. "What happened?"

"It's a little hard to explain, but basically Rainbow harnessed the energy within herself. Every living being has energy, but very few know how to control it. And I'm teaching Rainbow to do just that."

"...Wow." Was all the Earth Pony could reply.

"Yeah, it's pretty great."

"So you can do that too?"

He grinned. "Naturally." He then fired a quick blast at another nearby rock, instantly destroying it. "Of course, there are other ways I could destroy a rock. For example..." The Saiyan walked over to a larger rock formation, and then pulled his right fist back. A mere second later he threw a punch, completely shattering the target upon impact. One fluid motion was all it took, and now debris was falling everywhere.

Everything up until that point had been awe-inspiring, but that last display just blew everything else away. With just one punch he obliterated those rocks, and they weren't small by any means. She had been farming rocks all her life and even she couldn't do that. She was looking at the strongest man in all of Equestria, and she liked what she saw. He was built like marble, and even stronger than rock... maybe even diamonds!

Vegito felt confused as Maud's shocked face transformed into a smile, which he thought she was incapable of doing. And what was even stranger was that it was directed at him. The slight blush on her face wasn't helping anything either.

Rainbow was also surprised to see Maud smiling.

On her part Pinkie Pie hadn't seen her sister acting this way before. "Are you alright Maud?" She asked as she approached her sister. Upon closer inspection the pink Pony realized what was going on, and she couldn't help but smile as well.

"Mind filling us in?" The Saiyan asked.

"Uh actually Maud and I have very important sister business to take care of, catch you two later!"

Both the Saiyan and Pegasus looked over at one another in confusion before shrugging.

As soon as she and her sister were a good enough distance away the pink-maned mare turned to face her. "You have a crush on Vegi don't you?"

"He's like a rock... on the outside he is rough and hard, but on the inside there's a beautiful mineral that shines brightly."

"That was beautiful." Pinkie noted before grabbing a tissue from her mane and then blowing her nose.

"Thinking about him makes me feel... happy, like when I discovered that cave of rare gems."

At this point Pinkie was smiling from ear to ear. Seeing her sister all happy made her happy as well, and all of this excitement made her wish she could throw a party. Alas she couldn't... at least, not yet. First she had to make sure her friends and her sister were really ready to make those rock candy necklaces. Sure they had each gotten some nice one on one time with Maud, as well as that initial picnic, but they still needed one last bonding experience. And the pink Pony knew exactly what to do.

"Are you happy because I'm happy?"

"Obviously... but more importantly I just figured out a way for both you and my friends to bond, it'll be perfect! And don't worry, I'll make sure you get some alone time with Vegito so you can tell him how you feel. Ooh, you should write him a poem!"

"...Think it should be about rocks?"

The next day Vegtio and Rainbow Dash were on their way to meet up with the rest of their friends. Apparently Pinkie Pie had come up with the perfect Maud bonding activity, which everypony would enjoy. That was all they knew, as no details had been given. They had a feeling Pinkie would keep it secret until the last minute, and as such they showed up anyway. They might as well see what all the fuss was about.

After a few minutes of walking they saw the rest of their friends, as well as Maud. In addition to the Ponies was what looked like a pretty big obstacle course. There were lots of colorful windy tubes, various platforms, as well as a massive pile of rocks. It all looked very elaborate, if a tad bit unsafe. The Saiyan was especially cautious of that rock pile, as it was wobbling back and forth quite a bit. Not to mention the giant boulder resting on top, which certainly wasn't helping with stability.

"Pinkie just what have you done this time?" The Saiyan asked.

"I made an obstacle course silly. I call it "Pinkie-Rainbow-Rari-Twi-Vegi-Apple-Flutter-Maud Fun Time"!"

"Huh?" Rainbow questioned.

"It combines everypony's interests into one giant activity that we can all enjoy together and that will totally bring all of my bestest friends together as bestestest friends! You'll need these." Pinkie gestured over to a bunch of Ponyquins, which were all wearing various protective gear. There was nothing for Vegito, but she figured he didn't need any extra protection.

"Like I said: Huh?"

"Probably better for me to show you. Watch this! Applesauce tunnel for Applejack, pretty shiny stuff for Rarity, reading material for Twilight, critter time for Fluttershy..." Critter time involved playing cards, and it seemed that Pinkie had won her game. "Cupcakes for yours truly..." She said as she stood in a dome, and at the push of a button cupcakes began floating in the air. "and it's a race for Rainbow Dash! Also I borrowed some of that special fabric Vegi gave to Rarity, so all of your outfits will be heavy!"

"Pinkie Pie, what is that?!" Twilight questioned.

"A rock slide, of course! For Maud! First you climb, then you slide!" Pinkie explained as she crawled through the green tube leading to said slide.

"I've got a bad feeling about this..." Applejack whispered to Fluttershy.

Pinkie Pie was giggling heavily as she hopped her way up the rock slide, but not too long into her hopping one of her hooves became stuck. "Huh?" She struggled to pull it free, but she was unable to.

From down below her friends watched on in fear, all the while hoping the rock slide didn't completely fall apart.

"Oh, goodness!"

Unfortunately the boulder at the top began to fall, and Applejack was the first to notice. "Watch out!"

Pinkie saw the oncoming danger, but there was nothing she could do. "Help!"

Right as Vegito was about to rush over he saw Maud sprint off, quickly grabbing her safety gear before rushing through the obstacle course. He had been pretty impressed by how quickly she moved, especially when she jumped and practically threw herself at the boulder. And then he and his friends watched as Maud pummeled it with nothing but her hooves, grinding it to mere dust. 'Wow... she sure is strong.'

Maud then landed near her sister and easily freed her, and once freed she led her sister safely down to the ground. "Pinkie Pie, what were you thinking?"

"I guess I wasn't."

"I know how important it is to you that your friends become my friends, but I just don't think it's going to happen. I think it would be best if I just go back to the rock farm and spend the rest of the week there." Maud then walked over to her sister's friends. "It was nice to meet you all. Makes me happy knowing Pinkie Pie has such good friends." She then cast a glance at Vegito, and after a few seconds she sighed and began to take her leave.

" But... we never even got to make our rock candy necklaces... Wait, Maud! I'll come with you!" Pinkie ran after her sister.

"I can't believe Maud cut her trip short." Twilight noted.

" I can't believe we nearly lost Pinkie Pie to that ridiculous obstacle course."

"To be fair I could have easily saved her, but I agree with you. That rock slide may be her worst idea yet, and for her that's saying something. I will say I was impressed by how Maud saved her, I never expected her to be so strong."

Rainbow nodded in excitement. "I know right?! She moved so fast, and then she punched that boulder into nothing! She was awesome!"

"Pinkie Pie was in trouble! Maud would move mountains for her if she had to."

"Naturally. It's sometimes the greatest moments of fear, or when we're backed into a corner that we lash back out. Maud knew what needed to be done, and she did it. There was no way she would let her sister die."

"That's it! I think I finally realized what we all have in common with Maud! Something that just might be worthy of a very important super-duper special tradition that only the closest and bestest of friends can share!"

Vegito was already way ahead of her. "We don't have much time, they're almost at the Train Station."

Everypony instantly went over and grabbed a firm hold of him, and less than a second later they were whisked away. They would never get tired of seeing that rainbow-colored dimension, as it was always so pretty. Not long after they were all back in Equestria, now standing in front of Pinkie and Maud.

"What are you all doing here?" Pinkie questioned.

"Pinkie Pie, we're so sorry we hurt your feelings by not bonding with Maud right away. And Maud, we're sorry that you felt the only way to spare Pinkie Pie's feelings was to leave Ponyville early." Twilight said.

Her friends nodded in agreement.

"We've seen how much you care about Pinkie Pie firsthoof." Applejack added.

"You threw yourself at a boulder just to save her, that took a lot of courage, and strength." The Saiyan praised.

"Pinkie Pie's happiness means as much to us as it does to you, and we're sorry we couldn't see it sooner. The thing that makes us click and creates a special bond between us is how much we all love Pinkie Pie!"

At this point Pinkie was beginning to tear up. "Aw, shucks!"

"That's a pretty great thing to have in common, if you ask me. What do you think, Maud?"

"Sure."

A moment of paused followed, as the other Ponies had been caught off guard by her response. Not the fact that she felt the same way, but how she still didn't seem to care. That was obviously just the way she was, but it was still hard to get used to.

"What's wrong?" Pinkie asked, fearing the worst.

"Sorry, darling. I think we all just thought she'd be a bit more excited about this." Rarity admitted.

Suddenly Pinkie Pie's frown burst into a smile. "Are you kidding me? I've never seen her more excited in my entire life!"

"I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't show my enthusiasm for things quite in the same way my sister does."

"Uh, we noticed. And we're totally cool with it." Rainbow said.

Everypony else agreed.

Pinkie Pie then elbowed her sister, and once she had her sister's attention she gave her a wink. She then turned her attention to her friends. "Come on girls, you can help pick out which candy to use for the necklaces!"

"Oh that sounds fun." Fluttershy noted as she followed after her bouncing friend.

"Ugh, I think I'm still sick from last time." The cyan Pegasus joked.

As his friends were leaving Vegito moved to follow, but he stopped when Maud blocked his path. "Um, can I help you."

She merely stood there for a few moments, staring at him. After several silent moments she was ready, but not before clearing her throat. "Vegito, you are strong, like a diamond. Your body is like a statue made of marble, carefully chiseled to perfection. My love for you is as numerous as all of the sediment in the ground. You are like light reflecting off a crystal and lighting up a whole cave. Before I met you I was a blank slab, but now I've been sculpted into a heart."

Vegito was too shocked to respond at first. A pony had just poured their heart out to him, and it was Maud no less. Although that would explain why she was staring at him so much, and perhaps his ship and incredible feats wowed her too much. Any way he looked at it he felt a little uncomfortable. "Uh... w-well I'm... flattered? But I don't really share the same feelings."

"Oh..." In an instant Maud's world came crumbling down like that rock slide, and her heart had been destroyed just as she destroyed that boulder. At least now she had an excuse to write some sad poetry about rocks.

"Look It's not that I don't like you, I just don't like you in that way. We can certainly be friends, and I'd love to see more of your strength, but I'm afraid that's it."

While initially upset Maud was starting to feel better, her heart slowly putting itself back together. She just had to accept that he didn't feel the same. Did it hurt, very much so, but that was just life. The earth erodes, but that can lead to beautiful caves and landscapes. Over time she would move on, and hopefully not spend her life wondering what-if? Besides, at least they would be friends.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for being honest with me." She smiled.

He was caught off guard by her smile, but only initially. It was still weird the second time. His shock only lasted a few moments before he smiled in turn. "No problem. But, um, did you really write a love poem about me involving rocks?"

"They're my greatest source of inspiration."

"Uh, huh..."

When it came time for Maud to leave she went to the Train Station with not only her sister, but all of her new friends as well. It had been really fun spending some more time with her new friends, and she liked them more and more as the week went on. She could certainly see how her sister ended up with them, and how they stayed such good friends. After a few more minutes she reached the Station, not a moment before the train arrived.

"Maud, we'd like to give you something to take on your trip, so that you remember all your friends from Ponyville." Twilight said as she gave the Earth Pony the candy necklace she made, which was rather simple in terms of design.

Everypony else had a necklace as well, some more elaborate than others. Or in Rainbow's case, using as much candy as possible to recreate her Cutie Mark. It weighed quite a bit, and was definitely too much candy for a Pony to handle, but at least it was awesome! Vegito even had a necklace, mostly because Pinkie forc-... kindly pleaded for him to make one, and so he did. It wasn't perfect or special, but he wasn't going for an A.

"Thank you." Maud said as she received the last of her new friends' necklaces.

Pinkie then excitedly ran up to her sister. "Try not to eat all the candy before you leave!" She smiled as she and her sister exchanged necklaces. And once she had her necklace she instantly dove in.

Meanwhile Maud reached into her bag and pulled out a box, and inside was a bunch of rock candy necklaces.

"Are those all the necklaces Pinkie Pie sent you?" Twilight questioned in surprise.

"Mm-hm." The Earth Pony replied before shutting the box.

"You haven't eaten any of them?"

"I don't really like candy. But I do love Pinkie Pie."

Meanwhile in Hell...

Dr. Myuu still couldn't remember what happened to him, no matter how hard he tried. It was as his entire life happened, but didn't happen at the same time. It was very strange, but luckily he still had his massive intellect. It had also been fortunate that he came across a few individuals who shared his interest. Both were men of science, and both were brilliant. Apparently they were working on some top secret project, which only them and their master knew about.

That was also part of a plan to get revenge on Vegito, who the doctor could clearly remember. All he knew was that Vegito was responsible for everything bad happening... at least, that's what it seemed like. Perhaps the man had killed him, or had played a part in doing so. It didn't really matter in the end though, as he would gladly aid in bringing Vegito down.

"Ze work you two have done iz most impressive, and with my added knowledge and experience we will truly make something great!"

"Hm, I don't think we've been introduced."

Myuu turned around and saw a tiny green, lizard like creature wearing a robe staring at him. He looked at said creature curiously.

Both of the other men instantly bowed. "Forgive us Master Babidi, but we were going to introduce you as soon as you came for your inspection. This is Dr. Myuu, a supposed victim of Vegito, and he has experience with machinery and cybernetics. He will surely be a great help to your cause."

"Is that right?" Babidi questioned as he turned to face the doctor.

"So you're zis Master Babidi they've talked about, I must say you're not quite what I-" Dr. Myuu paused mid-sentence as he felt something attacking his mind, as if trying to take over. Somehow the feeling was familiar, but he wasn't sure why. He struggled for a bit but was finding it harder and harder to resist, and eventually he just gave up.

Dr. Myuu stood there for a few moments before kneeling. "Please forgive my rudeness Master Babidi, I did not know my place. Please give me a chance, and I'll will not rest until you have gotten your revenge."

Babidi smirked. "Oh that's alright, there's always an initial resistance. But true peons learn their place eventually."

"Well said Master."

"Now then, about our little project?"

One of the other scientists spoke up. "We have made some progress since your last visit, and now with Dr. Myuu to aid us our efforts will surely double. We can have it ready within a few months."

Another smirk came to the wizard's face, as playing the waiting game would be well worth it. "Very good. Very good indeed."

And there we have it! Sorry for the long wait, but you know how it goes. So Vegito finally met Maud, and it didn't quite go as he expected. The idea of Maud having a crush on Vegito wasn't mine, someone had suggested it to me and it was too hilarious not to follow. I forget exactly who it was, so sorry for not giving a proper shout-out. Anyway I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and stay tuned because things will be heating up soon. Be sure to R&R and have a wonderful day.

Also I'm not the best at writing rock love poetry, so I hope you all enjoyed it ;)
