Not much happens plot wise in this chapter, but we do tend to a few character relationships. Enjoy!
?'s POV
A chuckle escaped the lips of the robed man. He waved his staff around, as he headed for the locked door of the toy room.
"Everything is going according to plan. Hilda will be here soon, carrying my special package. This is all going perfectly. I'll show them-" he tightened the grip on his staff "-what the price is for meddling with me."
Hilda's POV
"Now!" I cried. Blue, Looker, and I flew on Reshiram's back. "The moment either of you sees Nathanial, you grab him. We gotta make this quick so no one sees Blue."
We lowered down, seeing everyone run out of the flames of the attack. Luckily for me Looker suggested an ice-type move as well to keep the fire from burning them.
"I see him!" Blue cried, pointing to Red, who made it out first, Nathanial in his arms. Seeing him, Reshiram dove down. Blue plucked Nathanial from Red's arms and we flew back upwards.
"pokemon….people…" Nathanial murmured weakly. He was so tired he didn't even put up a fight. The poor thing fell asleep right away.
"Guys I'm going to have to drop you off while I fly off. Do you have any preferences?" I said, looking over my shoulder. Blue shrugged, and Looker frowned.
"Hilda, you're going alone...again? When will you learn?" He persuaded.
"I won't be alone, Looker. I'll have this kiddo for company. And before long," I broke into a grin, "before long I'll be with N."
Blue's POV
Hilda dropped us off nearer to the Pokemon League. I'd never seen a more confident person. She waved us goodbye, then zoomed off before I could say another word.
"Well, now what?" I scratched the back of my head, looking over at Looker. But he didn't look towards me.
"What did I do wrong this time?" I sighed, waiting for his long lecture to begin.
"We've got company," he said simply, pointing towards the forest. I jerked around, and felt my heart stop.
"Blue?" Leaf whispered, walking over.
Layla's POV
"YOU SON OF A HERDIER I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!" came the screams of Leaf, who'd gotten ahead of the rest of us. We ran to see what was going on.
"Leaf...you're choking me," came the reply. Leaf was hugging all the air out of him.
"AM I? GOOD! LET ME DO IT SOME MORE! YOU TOLD US YOU WERE DEAD ANYWAYS," she cried, practically leaping on him.
The air was filled with silence. Leaf looked up at Blue, and in an instant, leaped up and kissed him.
"I missed you, Leaf," Blue murmured. Leaf let go for a moment, punched him in the stomach, and resumed kissing him.
As for the rest of us, we stared at each other awkwardly. We weren't going to ruin Leaf's moment, and there wasn't much we could do but sit there.
Finally Leaf let go. "I hate you. Didn't you think about me? About how I was feeling? I-you little-" Leaf paused as she glanced at the girl in yellow, who'd been watching the whole scene in curiosity. "I-I hate you. But I'm glad you're not dead." She pulled from her bag a small necklace, the one Ethan and Lyra had brought one time. "Now. This belongs to you." she put the necklace around him.
"Leaf." a cold voice sounded. Everyone turned to Red, who seemed the least enthusiastic of all. "We're wasting time here. Come on." He turned around, not looking at anyone.
Lyra's POV
Red was upset.
Leaf was thrilled.
Blue was back.
Ethan and Layla were talking a lot more.
Rosa and Hugh walked together.
Yellow bounced behind Leaf.
Nathanial was gone.
That left the meanie. Silver.
I walked over to him quietly. Which was really hard for me.
He stopped walking. Everyone passed us.
I heard him mumble something. "What?" I looked at him, and he looked sad.
"Sorry Lyra." Silver said quietly. "I'm sorry for everything. I-"
"It's okay, Silver," I said, smiling like a loudred. "I forgive you."
and without thinking about it, I gave Silver a big hug. He stood still, like he was frozen or something.
"what's wrong Silver?" I asked.
He face was as red as his hair.
"Nothing." He simply replied.
Ethan's POV
Boy, was Red mad. He was practically stomping ahead of the rest of us.
"Uh...Red?" I walked over. "Where exactly are we going?"
Red sighed. He looked over at Lyra, who was hugging Silver. I felt something clenching my throat. "You too, huh," he answered. Another sigh.
We walked a little more, then he pulled up his pokegear. "Let's see how Hilda's doing."
We waited as the device buzzed. Finally she picked up. "This better be good," she snapped.
"Wha-are you in trouble?"
"No, but have you tried zooming on a Reshiram, carrying a sick child, and taking a call at the same time?"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Hilda, what do we do now?"
"Not sure. I guess stay there? Wait until Team Rocket or Team Plasma tries to attack another city or something. Keep them in check. Now if you'll excuse me…" she hung up.
"Red, I don't remember seeing any grunts with a 'P' on their uniforms. They were all from Team Rocket….weren't they?"
"I think you're right."
